Hello,
Is there a list of pros-cons for deploying a PHP application on the cloud for AWS or Azure?
Which factors would make AWS a better choice over Azure and Vice-versa?
If anyone has chosen to use, either one instead of the other for a number or reasons i would really want to know why.

What are the pros and cons between using the ASP.Net control compared to the old reliable table html implementation.
I know that the asp:Table will end up on the returned page as a html table, and from looking into it so far people are saying its easier to work with the asp:Table in the server side code, but I'd love to hear what the…
What do you think is the best way to develop iphone apps on windows? What are the pros / cons of your method, and why do you use it over other options? How complex is your method in relation to other options?
I am more interested in standalone and web apps but fell free to discuss gaming graphics.
Yes I know you need to build on a…
(EDIT: I made it a community wiki as it is more suited to a collaborative format.)
There are a plethora of ways to access SQL Server and other databases from .NET. All have their pros and cons and it will never be a simple question of which is "best" - the answer will always be "it depends".
However, I am looking for a comparison…
What are pros and cons to define font-size for body?

I somewhere heard that the .NET Framework was built around specific pattern, which they tried to uphold as much as possible.
var rsa = new RSACryptoServiceProvider(); // Create
rsa.ImportParameters(GetParameters()); // Set
byte[] encrypted = rsa.Encrypt(data, true); // Execute
// Destroyed by garbage-collector
Are there any…
I'm looking to deploy a new Ruby on Rails project I'm working on but need hosting. A managed server is overkill for me. I just need shared space. I'd like to go with a service that specializes in Ruby on Rails.
I've looked at SpeedyRails and RailsPlayground and they both seem to have pros and cons. Does anyone have…
I am looking for good books and articles on user-interface testing.
What they should contain (one or more of):
different test methods/strategies
examples, use cases
naming pros and cons for different methods
something important I might have forgotten :-)
What they should not be:
Only about general tests and not…
I'm thinking about moving from MySQL to Postgres for Rails development and I just want to hear what other developers that made the move have to say about it.
I'm looking for personal experiences, not a Mysql v Postgres shootout, just the pros and cons that you yourself have arrived at. Stuff that folks might not…
I have seen lots of people asking on how to push/pop UINavigationControllers using other animations besides the default one, like flip or curl.
The problem is that either the question/answer was relative old, which means the have some things like [UIView beginAnimations:] (example here) or they use two very…
Guys,
I am searching an open source RSS component to use in my project (.Net 3.5, C#). I have found ASP.Net RSS toolkit: http://aspnetrsstoolkit.codeplex.com/Release/ProjectReleases.aspx?ReleaseId=3674. Do you know about advantages and disadvantages of the component? Could you suggest a better open source…
I found What are mvp and mvc and what is the difference but it didn't really answer this question.
I've recently started using MVC because it's part of the framework that myself and my work-partner are going to use. We chose it because it looked easy and separated process from display, are there…
I see iframe/p3p trick is the most popular one around, but I personally don't like it because javascript + hidden fields + frame really make it look like a hack job. I've also come across a master-slave approach using web service to communicate (http://www.15seconds.com/issue/971108.htm) and it…
I'm looking at the pros and cons of these three primary methods of coming up with primary keys for database rows.
So assuming I am using a database that supports more than one of these methods, is there a simple heuristic to determine what the best option would be for me?
How do…
In your opinion and experience, what's best - working full-time and long-term for one company, or part-time short-term on many smaller projects or parts of projects? What do you think are the pros and cons of both?
I heard that being a consultant is more profitable and one would…
Hi
New to the Twitter API, but need to choose between 3 different Actionscript libraries available for the Twitter API.
Has anyone used either TwitterScript, SWX Twitter, or Tweetr and knows some of the pros and cons of each?
What do people think is the best JSF framework or library for a saving state longer than request scope (but w/o using session scope) that is backbutton/new window safe -- i.e. you have a "wizard"/multi-page form.
For example, MyFaces has the 'SaveState' tag…
I am currently learning Ruby on Rails. I currently do all my development on my laptop. However, I know in all "real world" situations, I will be connecting to a dedicated server that will hold the site.
So here is my question: what are the pros and cons…
What are pros and cons of this technique (see Softfolio for an example). Two things I personally thought of are as follows:
Impossible to tell someone where an item of interest is located (like, you probably won't say "324-th row, second column")
Broken…
Currently there is discussion as to what are the pros and cons of having a single sql connection architecture.
To elaborate what we are discussing is, at application creation open a sql connection and at application close or error closing the sql…
I'm going to be switching back and forth between Ruby on Rails projects and some as-of-yet undecided PHP MVC framework projects.
Which of the PHP MVC frameworks out there (CakePHP, CodeIgniter?, others?) is most similar to Ruby on Rails in that…
I would like to create a reusable interface to transfer some proprietary information over the TCP/IP connection. If given only the choice of either WSDL or DLL, what are the pros and cons of using each? This is assuming that Windows OS is used.
