• SQL query to show what has been payed each

  I'm looking for help to create a query, to solve the following problem: Let's imagine the row: Name StartDate EndDate Payed James 10-10-2010 17-02-2011 860 Now I need a way to split this row up, so I can see what he pays every month, for his period, a query that returns: Name Year Month Payed James 2010 10 172 James 2010 11 172 James 2010 12 172 James 2011 01 172 James 2010 02 172 There are lots of different customers with different StartDate/EndDate and amount payed, so the query has to handle this aswell. How can I do this in SQL (MS SQL Server 2005)? Help will be much appreciated!

• Passing a ManagedObjectContext to a second view

  I'm writing my first iPhone/Cocoa app. It has two table views inside a navigation view. When you touch a row in the first table view, you are taken to the second table view. I would like the second view to display records from the CoreData entities related to the row you touched in the first view. I have the CoreData data showing up fine in the first table view. You can touch a row and go to the second table view. I'm able to pass info from the selected object from the first to the second view. But I cannot get the second view to do its own CoreData fetching. For the life of me I cannot get the managedObjectContext object to pass to the second view controller. I don't want to do the lookups in the first view and pass a dictionary because I want to be able to use a search field to refine results in the second view, as well as insert new entries to the CoreData data from there. • creating new usercntrols at runtime in ASP.NET MVC

  Hi everyone, My situation is that the user is creating an entity on my site which contains the particlars of the driectors of that company, name address etc.. The Director form is a separate user control with the appropriate textboxes etc. At run time we don't know how many of these directors there will be so I need one to be able to use something like an "ADD DIRECTOR" or "DELETE DIRECTOR" button which will present or delete the another usercontrol to add the additional director. Currently I am trying to make this happen within a pane of the JQuery Accordion control. I have looked many places for how to do this but to no avail. Can anyone tell me where I might find some inforamation about how I can do this? All the best Paul

• IntelliSense and Folding Editor Not Working in Visual Studio 2008 SP1 for Certain Files Only

  Ok, I have an issue that is driving me nuts. In certain xaml files only, neither IntelliSense nor the folding editor is working. I have noticed that if I delete the local namespace and add it back, the folding editor starts working. If I delete the local namespace and don't add it back, IntelliSense starts working as well. Of course, I need to remember to add that namespace declaration back before I compile and/or check in ... which is annoying. How can you fix this?

• JQuery Autocomplete - format listing and only return a part to the text box

  I'm using the JQuery Autocomplete and it's working just fine. I'm using it to allow someone to search for users out of a database by searching on last name or id number. Right now the drop down list that is created is the resultes of a SQL query and looks something like: $row_rst['lName'] . ', ' . $row_rst['fName'] . " - " . $row_rst['user'] . "|" . $row_rst['id'] which outputs something like: Jones, Henry - hjones Gibbons, Peter - pgibbons When I pick Henry the text box gets Jones, Henry - hjones and the hidden field gets his id. I'd like to format the drop down in columns if possible and only return Jones, Henry to the text box if possible. Are either of those options possible? I'm thinking it has to do with either formatItem(row) or formatResult(row) but I'm not sure and I can't seem to find how to go about this.

  Hello all, I am having problems with the PHP function unlink. I keep getting this error: Warning: unlink(C:\wamp\www\webs\db\db_1276259188.mdb) [function.unlink]: Permission denied in C:\wamp\www\webs\pure-php-export.php on line 242 I am on a windows machine where Apache runs as the user SYSTEM. I have set the permissions of the db folder as "Full Control" for Apache's user. I thought my script might still be holding on to that file (its an uploaded file that gets used via PDO). try{ $dbh = new PDO("odbc:Driver={Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb, *.accdb)};Dbq=$mdbFilename", $username, $password); }catch(PDOException $e){ echo $e->getMessage(); } So before I attempt to delete the file I unset the above and try to delete like so: $dbh = null; unset($dbh); if(is_file($mdbFilename)){ unlink($mdbFilename); } I really appreciate any help on this as it has been driving me mental for the past two hours! • Registry in .NET: DeleteSubKeyTree says the subkey does not exists, but hey, it does!

  Hi, Trying to delete a subkey tree: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.hdr. .hdr subkey has one subkey, no values. So I use this code: RegistryKey FileExts = Registry.CurrentUser.CreateSubKey("SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Explorer\\FileExts"); RegistryKey faulty = FileExts.OpenSubKey(".hdr"); Debug.Assert (faulty != null && faulty.SubKeyCount != 0); faulty.Close(); FileExts.DeleteSubKeyTree(".hdr"); And I get the ArgumentException with message "Cannot delete a subkey tree because the subkey does not exist." WTF? I checked and asserted it did exist?

  INFORMIX-SQL 7.3 Perform Screens: According to documentation, in an "after editadd editupdate of table" control block, its instructions are executed before the row is added or updated to the table, whereas in an "after add update of table" control block, its instructions are executed after the row has been added or updated to the table, supposedly meaning that any instructions which would alter values of field-tags linked to table.columns would not be committed to the table, but field-tags linked to displayonly fields will change?.. However, when using "after add update of table" I placed instructions which alter values for field-tags linked to table.columns and their displayed and committed values also changed!.. I would have thought that an "after add update of table" would only alter displayonly fields.

• DevExpress Reporting Session Issue

  This is pretty complicated so I will explain what is going on. I have created an ASP.NET website for displaying images, the way we use our images is, we have a database table that contains the URL where the images are located, however we recently started moving them from the filesystem, and storing them directly into the database as binary, but since we don't want to break older applications, we currently store them both places till they are all updated. Alright, the website I'm working on, is just a reporting website to display images by a date range, I have created an HTTPHandler to display the image, depending if they exist in the database as binary, if the row is DBNull, I just grab the URL from the other table instead, I just read the image, convert it into a byte[] and write it to the response, so it is interpreted as an image. I have created a page to display the report using DevExpress Reporting, I just query the report, save the dataset into a session, and the report reads the session to bind the report, i also have a picturebox in the report bound to "Handler.ashx?id=ImageID", this is because I am not binding a URL to the image, since it is a byte[] Also since there could be a report with 10000+ images, I am reading the dataset from the session inside the handler and just pulling out the image from the passed in ImageID, I am doing this to prevent connecting to the database each and every row. Now the strange thing is, Report loads fine.. data is loading, I have paging on the devexpress report viewer, it is loading the images fine, however here is the issue. When I print or export, I am not getting any images, I am debugged and found out the Session.Count is 0 when it tries to print or export, which is strange since there is more than just the dataset in the session. I have also added IRequiresSessionState to allow sessions in the handler, but the session count is still 0, I have changing the Handler to an aspx page, same issue. Any ideas or suggestions on logic changes, I'm all ears.. this is a very difficult situation since I have to display the images from database as a string AND byte[] since one can be URL and other be the image bytes, but I also can't slam the database on connection calls each row either. I have also reported the issue to DevExpress and they are clueless as well, since they don't dispose the session in the exporting process.

'string invalidEmail'. If I remove that prameter it seems to work normally.   Hello, focused items == selected items but selected items != focused items. Have you ever wondered about that? Do you specially style the backcolor of a focused/selected item ? I ask this question because a user has an enabled button because some customer items are selected. The user is wondering now "why the heck can I delete this customers (button is enabled...) when I have just clicked on the orders control selecting some orders ready to delete (button is enabled too). The thing is the selected customer items are nearly looking grayed out in the default style... Well its sort of inconsistence to the user NOT to the programmer because WE know the behavior. Do you cope with stuff like that?

  I want to minimize a Delphi application to the systray instead of the task bar. The necessary steps seem to be the following: Create icon which should then be displayed in the systray. When the user clicks the [-] to minimize the application, do the following: Hide the form. Add the icon (step #1) to the systray. Hide/delete the application's entry in the task bar. When the user double-clicks the application's icon in the systray, do the following: Show the form. Un-minimize the application again and bring it to the front. If "WindowState" is "WS_Minimized" set to "WS_Normal". Hide/delete the application's icon in the systray. When the user terminates the application, do the following: Hide/delete the application's icon in the systray. That's it. Right? How could one implement this in Delphi? • asp.net dynamic sitemap with querystring? Session variable seems like overkill.

  Hi, I'm using ASP.NET WebForms. I'm using the standard sitemap provider. Home User Account Entry Going to the home page should have a user selection screen. Clicking on a user should list out the user's accounts with options to edit, delete, add accounts. Selecting an account should list out all the user's account's entries with options to edit delete and add entries. How do you normally pass this information between pages? I could use the query string, but then, the sitemap doesn't work. The sitemap only has the exact page without the query string and therefore loses the information. /User/Account/List.aspx?User=123 /User/Account/Entry/List.aspx?User=123&Account=322 I could use a session variable, but this seems overkill. Thoughts and suggestions very appreciated. Thanks!

I guess that it has something to do with the actual placement of the WHERE row in the query, so I tried to move it around, but without any luck. What can I do?

  Hi, I'm a little confused as to how i can delete a parent node of something which i can find via an xpath search: $xml = simplexml_load_file($filename); $data = $xml->xpath('//items/info[item_id="' . $item_id . '"]'); $parent = $data[0]->xpath("parent::*"); unset($parent); So, it finds the item id, no problems there - but the unset isnt getting rid of this <items> node. All i want to do is remove the <items>...</items> for this product. Obviously, there are loads of <items> nodes in the xml file so it cant do unset($xml->data->items) as that would delete everything. Any ideas much appreciated :-)

• Minimum permission required to access Site Columns page and edit site columns

  We've started to adopt SharePoint 2010, and are starting to manually migrate content from SharePoint 2007 sites to new sites we're rebuilding from scratch in SP2010. One of the things we previously had supported was to delegate responsibility for managing some of our site columns to a member of the team. The team member is not familiar with SharePoint internals, and doesn't want the responsibility of full permissions to the site and all its objects. We're now trying to figure out what the minimum permission is that we need to grant our team member, so they can continue to edit (& propagate) the content of the site columns we've defined. Permissions he currently has (which are obviously insufficient): Site permissions (according to _layouts/user.aspx): Read, Contribute, Manage Lists Permissions for specific objects in the site (according to _layouts/people.aspxMembershipGroupId=xxx, then choosing Settings, View Group Permissions): server/sites/[sitename]: Contribute server/sites/[sitename]/Lists/[a list with columns that inherit from site columns]: "Contribute No Delete" Note: the "Contribute No Delete" permission is a custom permission I designed by copying the SharePoint-native "Contribute" permission set and deselecting the Delete permission. The "Manage Lists" permission is a custom permission I designed that includes the following specific permissions: (List Permissions) Manage Lists, View Items; (Site Permissions) View Pages, Open. Operations that are throwing access denied errors: _layouts/mngfield.aspx: SharePoint returns the "Error: Access Denied" dialog, and provides three clickable options: "Sign in as a different user", "Request access", and "Go back to site" _layouts/fldedit.aspx?field=Level%5Fx0020%5F3 [one of the site columns we've defined]: can load the page and type in changes to the textboxes "...but when I press OK (save changes) I get the same message above." When our team member clicks the "Request access" link, the email I receive sends me to a page that recommends that I grant the user membership in the "[sitename] Users" group - of which he's already a member. So while SP2010 tries to request access, it doesn't actually direct me to either (a) a valid group that has the correct permissions or (b) the specific object to which I need to grant our team member access. Also note: on the SP2007 (MOSS) site (where our team member was successful in managing Site Column edits), they had dozens of additional permissions throughout the site that we do not wish to blindly re-allocate in SP2010 until we know they're necessary. Any help anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated.

  I have an array whose elements are name, reversed_name, first_initial and second_initial. A typical row is "Aaron Smith", "Smith, Aaron", "a", "s". Each row in the array has a first_initial or second_initial value of "a". I need to display the rows alphabetically but based on the "a" part, so that either the name or reversed_name will be displayed. • Handwritten linked list is segfaulting and I don't understand why

  Hi I was working on a bit of fun, making an interface to run gnuplot from within c++, and for some reason the my linked list implementation fails. The code below fails on the line plots-append(&plot). Stepping through the code I discovered that for some reason the destructor ~John() is called immediately after the constructor John(), and I cannot seem to figure out why. The code included below is a stripped down version operating only on Plot*. Originally I made the linked list as a template class. And it worked fine as ll<int and ll<char* but for some reason it fails as ll<Plot*. Could youp please help me figure out why it fails? and perhaps help me understand how to make it work?   Database server: SQL Server 2000 - 8.00.760 - SP3 - Standard Edition I have a table with 5 columns, in which I want to add a large (300.000) number of records. There is a unique index on the combination of two columns. If I add the records with this unique index in place, SQL Server gives this error message: Msg 2601, Level 14, State 3, Line 1 Cannot insert duplicate key row in object 'TESTTABLE' with unique index 'test'. The statement has been terminated. (0 row(s) affected) However, if I delete the unique index and then add the records, I do not get any error when I create this unique index afterwards.

  Hello, I'd like to use jQuery UI autocomplete in order to load a list from my database but I don't know wich method I should use to do so. I tried to use the "Remote datasource" method [url]http://jqueryui.com/demos/autocomplete/#remote[/url], but it obviously doesn't work.
