• New power supply, now computer doesn't recognise hard drive?

  Ok, I bought a new power supply, because my old one was too damn loud. I hooked it up to my PC, turned it on, everything is looking fine, start up detects my DVD drive, 2 hard disks.. then I get the message "BOOT FAILURE INSERT SYSTEM DISK". Now I've seen some other people talk about going into BIOS and changing the start up to the HDD and not the CD.. well I've done that and it doesn't help. If I let windows load up and it asks me to which partition I wish to install windows, no partition is present. It's as if after the initial start up the drives arn't being found. I plugged my old (but loud) PSU back in, connected up all the cables, and it works perfectly. Why does the new PSU not detect my HDD's after the first BIOS screen start up? Any ideas? :)

• Need advise on linking apache and tomcat

  I have been searching this for hours with no luck. I have a web server that uses https on Apache2. I also have installed tomcat7 on the same server to run some Java webapp on it. I need to keep my https port 443 on Apache but forward the requests to the Java webapp to tomcat. I tried to use mod_jk to redirect the requests to tomcat but I failed. Most tutorials talk about redirecting plain http requests not https. I also could not let tomcat use https on 8443. I'm following the steps here but facing errors. The question: Can I redirect https traffic to tomcat without installing https on tomcat? Is there a good tutorial you can recommend to me?

• Running Services.msc as a different User C#

  Hi, I have a requirement to create a simple windows forms application that allows an admin user to manage the Services on remote servers. We don't want to give the admins the usernames and passwords to the servers so these will be encrypted and stored in a database. My question is whether or not it is possible to spawn a Services.msc window when impersonating one of the users stored within the database? I have looked at the ProcessStartInfo class but because Services.msc is not an executable it does not seem to like executing this. Any ideas on a simple way of doing the actual impersonation and loading of Services.msc - say off a button click? Thanks

• SQL Server Error 26 (Error Locating Server/Instance Specified) Only When Debugging

  I have a simple asp .net web project I'm working on, and while normally everything is going fine, if I try to debug the site, I get "SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified". I'm not sure if its a weird code issue or a weird SQL Server Issue, but here are the system specs anyway. My dev machine is Windows 7 32-bit, and a Windows Server 2008 VM (on the same Windows 7 Machine) runs both IIS and SQL Server 2008 Express. I haven't had any other problems with the connection string I'm using, and I'm using the simple SA account. Anyhow, thanks for the help.

• Caching stored procedure results in Linq'u

  In our web application we have a lots of stored procedures look like this one: getSomeData(/* 7 diffrent params */) This stored procedure don't make any updates. We are using Linq'u. I know that the date are changing no often than once per day so the results for the same sets of parameters values will be the same. Does Linqu have cache simple solution? I know how to 'manually' write cache mechanism in .net, but I supposed that in Linqu this problem was solved. I'm a lazy guy :) so I'm looking for something realy simple like: Linqu_global_store_procedure_configuration.CacheDuration="600" Linqu_global_store_procedure_configuration.CacheVaryByParam="*" I'm using .net 3.5 but its not any problem to move for 4.0.

  Hi everyone, I would like to know is there any way to determine if a cone is intersecting with a (finite)line segment. The cone actually a circle located at P(x,y) with theta degree field of view and radius r. The simple visualization can be found here (sorry i can't post the picture here) I'm trying to do it in C# but I don't have any idea how to that, so for now this is what I'm doing : Check if the line segment is intersecting with the circle If the line segment is intersecting with the circle then I check every single point in the line segment using a function I found here.   I recently went from a 32bit laptop to a 64bit desktop (both win7). I just found out that I get an error now when loading dll's using dyn.load. I guess this is a simple mistake and I am overlooking something. For example, I write this simple c function (foo.c): void foo( int *x) {*x = *x + 1;} Then compile it in command prompt: R CMD SHLIB foo.c Then in 32bit R I can use it in R: > setwd("R") > dyn.load("foo.dll") > .C("foo",as.integer(1)) [[1]] [1] 2 but in 64bit R I get: > dyn.load("foo.dll") Error in inDL(x, as.logical(local), as.logical(now), ...) : unable to load shared object 'C:/Users/Sacha/Documents/R/foo.dll': LoadLibrary failure: %1 is not a valid Win32 application. nd.

  I am physically on a machine that is behind a firewall and cannot be ssh'd into. Let's call that PC. PC can connect out to two machines, one on AWS and one that is part of a vpn connection, call them A and V, respectively. A and V cannot talk to each other directly. I need to frequently move files between A and V and have been doing this by scp'ing to PC and then scp'ing from pc. Is there a better way to do this? A and V are linux but PC has cygwin.

  Hi, I need something simple; I have page where a user clicks an author to see the books associated with that author. On my page displaying the list of books for the author, I want a simple HTML title saying: 'The books for: AUTHORNAME' I can get the page to display author ID but not the name. When the user clicks the link in the previous page of the author, it looks likes this: <a href="viewauthorbooks.php?author_id=<?php echo $row['author_id']?>"><?php echo $row['authorname']?></a> And then on the 'viewauthorbooks.php?author_id=23' I have declared this at the start: $author_id = $_GET['author_id']; $authorname = $_GET['authorname']; And finally, 'The books for: AUTHORNAME, where it says AUTHORNAME, I have this: echo $authorname (With PHP tags, buts its not letting me put them in!) And this doesnt show anything, however if I change it to author_id, it displays the correct author ID that has been clicked, but its not exactly user friendly!! Can anyone help me out!

So far I have tried lynx but performance is too bad, html2text which gives weird and verbose markdown output and is under GPLv3 which is too restrictive for my (BSD-licensed) project, http://effbot.org/librarybook/formatter-example-3.py using htmllib.HTMLParser with formatter.AbstractFormatter and a custom writer, however htmllib.HTMLParser is drpeceated and has been removed from Python 3. So is there any simple, performant, Python 3-compatible HTML to text converter under a permissive license such as MIT/BSD/Apache and the like? Edit: I dont just need something to strip HTML-Tags but also to preserve the basic structure of the HTML, that is output that somewhat resembles that of Lynx.

• Magento: Configurable product options not showing on a view page?

  I have multi-store Magento system and strange things happen when i try to see a configurable product on my main store - the options select lists don't show up at all! And that is the case for the 95% of the products on the main store. But on the other stores it works fine?! I can't see what am I doing wrong. All my products are configurable, all have set simple products with options attached to them, all are set to be visible on all stores (WebsiteIds attribute), all are enabled on all stores, all simple products are in stock and have some stock quantity set. I think if I've done something wrong it would be like that on all stores, not just the main one. I'm totally clueless, please help. Is there a reason I get all those question marks or a way to get rid of them?

• jQuery get request against Sinatra does not get text

  I have a very simple sinatra site that I'm trying to access via ajax through jQuery. To keep things incredibly simple, this code snippet: get '/behavior_count' do "60" end which returns "60" in the browser, shows up as an empty string when attempting to access the site via $.get in jQuery. The strange part is in Firebug, while the Response is empty, the HTTP header correctly describes Content-Length as 2, and I can see the request show up on the server. Is there something specific to Sinatra that isn't returning my data, or am I not using jQuery correctly? If it helps, I also tried this code: get '/behavior_count' do content_type 'text/plain', :charset => 'utf-8' "60" end and my jQuery looks like $.get('http://mysite:4567/behavior_count'); // Ignore the response, but // watch the request in firebug Any ideas?
