    Hello, I have latest Ubuntu installed, with firefox 3.6.3. I have flashplugin-installer and ubuntu-restricted-extras installed. No other package concerning flash (gnash, swf) is installed. I can play videos on youtube or some other sites, some even some videos on yahoo, but I cannot play this video (and some others) - the blue circle in the center (like loading...) keeps flashing forever. Why can't I play it, and how to make it play?

  • Linux Mplayer Instead of flash any distro/browser

    The thing is that flash sucks for linux on 64-bit, performance vice. Due to this I actually download every clip to a temp folder and play the file while it's being downloaded with mplayer. This works really nice. Flash is not to play a video. Does there exist a plugin for this for any browser? I tried google, but I can't find the right words to search for.

    I have vinyl record rip in 24/96 flac format. Each track is almost 200 MB big, so the album won't fit on CD. How to burn these files on a DVD to play with the same quality on standalone DVD player? My player supports SACD, DVD Audio and DVD video as well. My OS is Ubuntu Lucid (preferred), but I have also WinXp with Nero installed. BTW, is there any difference between DVD+ and DVD- for audio?

  • Default soundcard per application in Vista?

    I use a USB headset during the day, then at night I use my speakers to watch video. I constantly have to use the windows playback list to change the default soundcard before I run the program I want. I did some google research but it doesn't seem to help much, mostly because of false positives. I tried to use "Sound Card Manager" but it didn't seem to work properly. Has anyone had any sucess dealing with the Vista sound system?

  • Win7 + SysPrep + CloneZilla = lost settings

    I've just cloned a PC (Win7 + SysPrep + CloneZilla) and after starting up the new clone, Win7 wants to be reactivated again and the video driver seems to be missing (as in the aero effect has disappeared from the new clone) and the internet connection settings seem to be missing too. All those were set in the master before running SysPrep. Why have these settings been lost? The master PC was had windows 7 activated using a volume license key, and the clone pc is the same make and model as the master computer.

  • Are there any advantages to using windows 7 ultimate? I can't tell the diference

    I just upgraded my new desktop which came installed with Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit with a copy of Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit and so far I have not noticed any difference in performance. Even my Windows Experience Index number is the same 5.5 that it was before the upgrade. So what's the point, are there any performance advantages that I'm not seeing?     Using Totem Video Player v2.26.1 on Ubuntu Jaunty 9.04, dvd's won't play after I've installed libdvdread4, added the Medibuntu packages, and run sudo /usr/share/doc/libdvdread4/install-css.sh If I click on the dvd I get an error *"Could not read from resource". If I navigate to one of the videos directly and run it, the movie will play, but with obvious degradation or encryption (like cable tv you aren't paying for).
