  • Suggestions for a SOHO/Home Asterisk system

    I would like to buy a small embedded system that runs Linux and Asterisk. I would like two FXS ports ( to plug analogue phones into ) and one FXO port ( to plug in to my real line to allow access to the POTS ). I would like it to have a USB port to hold storage for voicemail. I really want it for home use so I would like it to be under £150 ( say $250 ), given that you can buy ADSL routers for around this much can any of them be made to run Linux and Asterisk? I don't want a PC as the power usage would be too high. I am looking for something like this ASDL router but open and able to run Asterisk or another open PBX. At worst I would like a box which had one FXO and two FXS and just made them completely available over IP to a full Asterisk system on a low power Atom system.

  • Clicking hyperlinks in Email messages becomes painfully slow

    Running Windows 7 (RC, 64 bit). Suddenly, today, after months without a problem, clicking on links has become extremely slow. I've noticed this in two places. (1) clicking hyperlinks in Outlook email messages, which launches Firefox, takes around a minute. Launching Firefox by itself is instantaneous - I have an SSD drive and a very fast CPU. (2) opening Word documents attached to Outlook email messages also takes a surprisingly long time. The only thing these two might have in common is that they use the DDE mechanism, if I'm not mistaken, to send a DDE open command to the application. Under Windows XP this problem could sometimes be fixed by unchecking the "Use DDE" checkbox in the file type mapping, however, I can't find any equivalent under Windows 7.   • Bad Resolution. Running Three screens at the same time

    Hi I am currently using three screens at the same time with my ATI 5770 & an active displayport converter. The thing is that the third screen ( the one that is using the active displayport converter ) is showing terrible resolution compared to my other two screens. ( Samsung syncmaster p23 ) two of my screens got a max resolution of 1920* 1090, meanwhile the third on is only capable of 1600 * 1200. Do any of u guys got any solution to this problem?   • Sharing a wifi connection between different user profiles on Windows XP

    I've set-up two separate user profiles on an old laptop running Windows-XP, and noted the following strange behaviour. When the wireless network is setup using WEP both user profiles can connect to the internet and I can switch between user profiles, without network connectivity issues. However when I changed the wireless security to WPA2, the first user to connect gets access to the internet, when switching to the second profile the connection fails. The behaviour is the same regardless of which of the two profiles logs on first. I also tried this with one user with admin rights and one without, and got the same result. I'm not too concerned about a fix for this other than forcing the users to log-off when sharing the laptop, but I'd be interested to know if anyone can corroborate my findings. The network config was done using Intel® PROSet/Wireless.

  • Corosync :: Restarting some resources after Lan connectivity issue

    I am currently looking into corosync to build a two-node cluster. So, I've got it working fine, and it does what I want to do, which is: Lost connectivity between the two nodes gives the first node '10node' both Failover Wan IPs. (aka resources WanCluster100 and WanCluster101 ) '11node' does nothing. He "thinks" he still has his Failover Wan IP. (aka WanCluster101) But it doesn't do this: '11node' should restart the WanCluster101 resource when the connectivity with the other node is back. This is to prevent a condition where node10 simply dies (and thus does not get 11node's Failover Wan IP), resulting in a situation where none of the nodes have 10node's failover IP because 10node is down 11node has "given back" his failover Wan IP.   • Vacation sends autoreply message to the recipient as well

    Hi, I have configured my Postfix server with vacation for a domain. Sending a message to [email protected] causes two events: The message is delivered to the recipient ([email protected]) An auto-reply message is sent to the sender, alerting that [email protected] should be used instead. Everything works well except for one particular drawback: the auto-reply is also sent to the recipient, so it receives two messages in the end. What can I do to avoid that? I'm only using the $TO variable in the custom vacation.msg message. And here is Postfix's master.cf vacation line: autoreply unix - n n - - pipe flags=Rhu user=vacation argv=/usr/bin/vacation -j -m /home/vacation/.vacation.msg -f /home/vacation/.vacation.db vacation I know using the -j is a little bit risky according to man page, but I'm kind of testing here.

  • Share one monitor with another user and display their screen as well

    My housemate and I just started playing the original RollerCoaster Tycoon again - what a nostalgia trip! Anyways, we both have two monitors, and would like to view the other's game on the secondary monitor while playing, since we're in different rooms. VNC-like applications sorta work, but they require two separate instances running (one to share each direction), and as a whole are rather slow and clumsy. We don't need any remote control at all, just viewing. I'm using XP, he Win7. We could probably get it to run through some means in Linux, if necessary.

  • Undeliverable messages to newly migrated Exchange user

    We are in the process of migrating from our old domain to a new one, part of which involves migrating mailboxes from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2007. A bunch of users have been migrated already without problems. However, one of the users is having trouble receiving emails from others. When someone sends to him, they get an Undeliverable NDR that says "A configuration error in the e-mail system caused the message to bounce between two servers or to be forwarded between two recipients." The message shows the user's distinguished name as /OU=OurDomain/CN=Recipients/CN=USER57137172. The user's account name should just be "USER", so I don't know where the extra numbers ("57137172") are coming from. Thanks in advance.

    hi,.. Can somebody help in understanding how Lun Provisioning is done in clariion based on client requirement. Say, a client needs one 50 GB space on the host( for application) ,two -350 GBs ( for DB and stuff) on the same host and i have 4 raid groups with space of 200 GB in one 50 GB in second and 400 GB and 400GB in rest two all having 5 disks. And , I 'm using Raid 5 only. How do i provision keeping performance in mind( so that performance hit is not there)?..And i need to understand the concept of meta head as well. Please help me by elaborating the above scenario..I am learning to provision storage in non productive environment( b'fore going ahead and working on client prod server) and i have been learning a lot from SF ...I request the seniors here to help me understand it better.   • Does Windows 7 support multiple simultaneous nVidia graphics cards with different drivers?

    On one of my dev machines at work (currently running XP), I have two nVidia graphics cards: Quadro NVS 440 (my original card, for my three primary monitors) GeForce GTX 275 (just added, for CUDA development) I can get both cards to work OK by installing the latest GeForce drivers, but I get some annoying-but-not-crippling display artifacts on the Quadro's screens (mostly scattered black rectanges where repainting fails for a few bits of UI in certain applications). Under XP, this seems to be the best I can do. I can use Device Manager to supposedly install different nVidia drivers for the two cards (the latest Quadro drivers for the NVS, the latest GeForce drivers for the GTX), but I actually end up with the same driver for both, because the driver dlls all have the same names and get installed on top of one another in the system directory. I have read that Win7 has a new video driver architecture that better supports multiple heterogeneous cards. Does anyone know if that will handle my scenario? If so, it will give me a compelling reason to get that machine on Win7 ASAP.

  • Dell EqualLogic vs. EMC VNXe [closed]

    We've been looking into SMB SANs and based on the competitive pricing I've been getting we're really liking these two array's. There are some pro's to both solutions, but I've unable to really decide which to choose. The EMC offers better expandability since you can buy an additional shelf (roughly $1200) and can add drives then to the array. However, the Dell unit is still very nice. Can anyone comment on their experiences with the two and thoughts on this? Also, to get the VMware Storage API support you need VMware Enterprise. How much additional performance does this provide? It's roughly $15k more than the Essentials Plus bundle we're looking at (this is a small environment [3 Hosts 1 Array].

  • AD account locks out when using Outlook 2007?

    Hi, I/we have a problem with our Windows Server 2008 forest and Exchange. We are buying Exchange hosting from another firm and Exchange Server is in their Windows Server 2008 forest. So, we have two forests and there isn't any trusts between these two forests. Our own forest logon name is [email protected] and we also use the same email address to logon to the Exchange mailbox. Everything works fine if both our AD account and Exchange mailbox account have the same password, but if the passwords don't match, our AD account gets locked out. I have tried to figure out why Outlook sends false logon attemps to our AD. If someone can help, please do.

  • Can't add HKCU entries via GroupPolicy Preferences

    2008 R2, XP and W7 64 bit workstations. Trying to add/modify two registry entries for Lync2010 for each user. Created using GP Management, User Configuration, Preferences, Registry. If the two registry entries already exist, then the policy works correctly. If they don't exist, nothing changes. GPReults reports it was successful. If I import the .reg file manually, it also works, so I don't believe it is a rights issue. I have tried the Update, Create, and Replace as the Action. I am not familiar with ADM templates, is that the only way to do it?

    Hello. I updated my Ubuntu, and after that there were two new lines on my GRUB screen. Ubuntu 9.04, kernel 2.6.28-16-generic Ubuntu 9.04, kernel 2.6.28-16-generic (recovery mode) Ubuntu 9.04, kernel 2.6.28-11-generic Ubuntu 9.04, kernel 2.6.28-11-generic (recovey mode) Ubuntu 9.04, memtest86+ Other operating systems: Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Do I have two kernels installed? Do the old entries are still useful? Each kernel takes up space? :P And that's not all, when a get into the old version of Ubuntu, the wireless card stops working on any Ubuntu version until I get into Windows and then go back to Ubuntu.   • After enabling raid0, blue screen of death

    Hi! Im trying to get a raid0 setup going. I have a 750 gb hdd with the OS on it and two 80gb HDD. For right now, I just want to raid0 on the two 80Gb hdd. When I enable raid in my Bios, Win7 has a BSOD during boot. As far as I understand I need to install raid drivers. However how can I do this? The win7 DVD doesnt seem to have a driver install option. Any suggestions? Thanks EDIT: I saw that there was as seperate setting for the 4th and 5th sata ports. So I pluged in my OS drive into there and left it on IDE. Still didnt work though, am I miss understanding that idealogy?

  • Hyper-V Guests suddenly stopped working

    Hi! Here's my configuration: Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard as a host OS, and two guests VMs running the same exact OS. Yesterday, Trial Activation on all OSes has expired and quite naturally all machines shut down. I rearmed the host, but cannot log on to either guest VMs. From what I see, they start up normally (State is listed as Running) but CPU Usage seems to be stuck at 3% and when I connect to it all I see is black textmode screen with cursor blinking. One of my VMs has several snapshots, and when I revert back, it starts up normally. Moreover, "reference VM" (the one I cloned these two VMs from) starts up just normally. How can I troubleshoot this issue?

  • DHCP for Multiple Subnets

    So this is the current setup - essentially I would like to get my DHCP server, serving DHCP requests for two seperate subnets. Netgear DG834G acting as a modem connected to a Sonicwall Pro 2040. X0 - LAN - 192.168.1.0/24 X1 - WAN - <WAN-IP> X2 - WLAN - 192.168.10.0/24 At the moment, I have a 2008R2 server with DHCP installed, with an IP address on the 192.168.1.0/24 range handling DHCP fine for this subnet. The Sonicwall is configured correctly - anything connected to the WLAN has Full Allow to anything in the LAN, and vice versa but it will not lease an IP from my Server. I've also added another IP address to the server, so the physical NIC now has two IP's: 192.168.1.2 and 192.168.10.2 with a DHCP scope configured for each. Still no luck! Any ideas? Thanks!

    I have two columns with the following possibilities (0 for first column, and then 0 or 1 for second column; or a string for first column, and a 0 or 1 for second column). name,flag 0,0 david,0 0,1 sammy,1 How would I create a third column that looks like the following: name+flag 0 david 1 sammy Basically, if there are 2 0's in the two columns in a row, put a 0 in the new column. if there is a string in the first column in the row, no matter what the second column in the row says, put the string in the new column. and if there is a 0 in the first column and a 1 on the second column, put a 1 in the third column. Can I do this best with nested-if's? I tried something like name, flag, name+flag 0,0,=IF(A2<>0,A2,IF(B2=1,B2,0),0) But it didn't seem to work for me...
