  • Implemeting "drawing modes" in a graphics library?

    - by banister
i would like to implement 'drawing modes' (in my own graphics library). That is drawing with AND, OR, etc However i am storing colors using floats, each channel between 0 and 1.0 Do i have to first convert each color channel to 0-255 before i can use the AND, OR, etc drawing modes? and then convert back to float (0.0-1.0) ? Or is there another way of doing it? thanks

  • change data frame columns to rows

    - by Sol Lago
    Sorry if this is obvious: I found a lot of questions similar to mine but I can't figure it out for my own data. I have a data frame that looks like this: A <- c(1,6) B <- c(2,7) C <- c(3,8) D <- c(4,9) E <- c(5,0) df <- data.frame(A,B,C,D,E) df A B C D E 1 1 2 3 4 5 2 6 7 8 9 0 And I need this: df X1 A 1 A 6 B 2 B 7 C 3 C 8 D 4 D 9 E 5 E 0 Thanks!

  • C++ thread to seperate process

    - by silverbandit91
Is there any way i can have a thread branch off into it's own independent process? I know there's the CreateProcess function but as far as I can tell, you can only run external applications with it. Is what I'm asking for at all possible?

  • Determining the word width in C

    - by das_weezul
Hi! I'm learning C right now and so I'm fiddling about with pointers. Is there a way to determine the word width of the CPU in C because I'm writing a small program which prints it's own stack (Because I'm curious how it is structured), so that information would come in handy. Right now I'm using an int pointer, as an integer is 4 Bytes wide and I'm using a 32-bit Intel Atom CPU. Thanks in advance, C gurus ;o)

  • How to add a cross-browser mouse wheel function to a div in javascript?

    - by Shaunwithanau
I am trying to stop the default mouse wheel event that is called on the window and on a div and call my own function instead on the div. I need this to be cross-browser (without the use of a library. I know I need to use an eventListener and I think have to use both onmousewheel and DOMMouseScroll (for FF) but I think am getting caught up in the implementation somewhere. I appreciate any and all help.

  • Methods for implementing and using graphs of nodes in C++?

    - by DistortedLojik
I am working on a research project that deals with social networks. I have done most of the backbone of the program in C++ and am now wanting to implement a way to create the graph of nodes and the connections as well as a way to visualize the connections between people. I have looked a little into Lemon and the Boost graph library, but was wondering which one would be easier to learn and implement or if I should just code my own.

  • Tumblr - Custom Domain Help.

    - by gabeaudick
I own the domain name, iamgabeaudick.com. It was my personal website, but I now want to use it as my tumblr domain. I've changed the DNS, and tumblr confirms that the domain is set up correctly. But when I access iamgabeaudick.com, a blank "Index of /" page appears. Any ideas why this is? Do I need to configure the ftp files in some way?

  • How to overwrite a convenience constructor the proper way?

    - by mystify
For example I want to overwrite from UIButton: + (id)buttonWithType:(UIButtonType)buttonType So I would do: + (id)buttonWithType:(UIButtonType)buttonType { UIButton *button = [UIButton buttonWithType:buttonType]; if (button != nil) { // do own config stuff ... } return button; } is that the right way? Or did I miss something? (yeah, I have been overwriting thousands of instance methods, but never class methods ;) )

  • Do null SQLite Data fields take up extra memory?

    - by CSharperWithJava
I'm using the built in sqlite library on the Android platform. I'm considering adding several general purpose fields that users will be able to use for their own custom applications, but these fields will be blank most of the time. My question is, how much overhead will these blank fields add to my database? Do null fields even take up per record memory in sqlite? If so, how much? I don't quite understand the inner workings of a sqlite database.

  • ASP.NET MVC Generic Partial

    - by gnome
Is is possible to have a partial view inherit more than one model? I have three models (Contacts, Clients, Vendors) that all have address information (Address). In the interest of being DRY I pulled the address info into it's own model, Addresses. I created a partial create / update view of addresses and what to render this in other other three model's create / update views.

  • Rails multi level model security

    - by rballz
I have the need to do the following in Rails to mirror a desktop application: a User and an Office 'owns' a record, if you don't own the record on a user or office level you're kicked into the public realm. user gets read, write, delete to the model record office gets read/write/delete to the model record other or public gets read/write/delete to the model record e.g. UserA owns a model record with read/write/delete OfficeA owns a model with read/write other/public gets read I was wondering if a plugin/gem existed to grant this functionality?

  • LaTeX vs DocBook

    - by yfel
I have only little knowledge about LaTeX, basic formatting, basic math fomulae etc.. I found that LaTeX is hard to configure to my own flavor. Recently, I've heard about Docbook, which is also a typesetting mechanism, but much easier since it uses XML. So, if my main job using LaTeX/Docbook is writing a simple document (not a class book) with some mathematics, and I want easy configuration, and a highly constomizable application, which one is better, and is there any good book on Docbook?

  • Building a custom textbox in GTK

    - by CommuSoft
I want to make my own GTK# Textbox, the textbox should draw the text and it's cursor on a special way. However keyboard and mouse-handling is quite complex and is also influenced by for instance the operating system (for instance the use of dead keys) Is there a way to build such a control without having to worry about keyboard input? I assume I have to make a textbox control that inherits the original textbox control. How can I handle drawing requests and mouse movements?

We already have our own workflow engine implemented about 5 years ago, currently we are thinking of leveraging the new flow chart control in .net 4.0 for the visual presentations of our existing states. So can we simply using this flow chart control without using other workflow foundations features?
