• Better alternative for PipedReader/PipedWriter?

  I need to have a buffered char stream, into which I write in one thread and from which I read in another thread. Right now I'm using PipedReader and PipedWriter for it, but those classes cause a performance problem: PipedReader does a wait(1000) when its internal buffer is empty, which causes my application to lag visibly. Would there be some library which does the same thing as PipedReader/PipedWriter, but with better performance? Or will I have to implement my own wheels?

  Is there a library or good tutorial which covers creating in-app settings, like this: http://img.skitch.com/20090625-s8bf6ahybwe3cesd1id38h3nt.jpg What I would like is if it: doesn't use the built-in Settings app is controlled by a plist file with various Dictionaries and Arrays creates a nice looking table view allows text fields as well as switches and sliders and ticks etc doesn't have any of the annoying problems I've come across when trying to build my own version (not scrolling to show the textfield, cells disappearing) It would appear that the iphone dev world is crying out for such a thing.   I'm trying to write fully automated unit tests in JavaScript and I'm looking for a way to read some private variables in various JS functions. I thought I recalled a way to inject privileged members into a function/object (and found an overwhelming occurrence of "no such thing as private in JS") and yet I can't find any resources indicating how. I'm trying to read through the properties of .prototype but if there's a way, someone out here would know where to direct me faster than I'd find on my own. Thanks

I found a couple of methods to do this. 1) SMS - Intercept the incoming SMS and initiate a pull from the server 2) Poll the server periodically Each has its own limitations. • Service restarts automatically after it is manually stopped.

  I have created a windows service in C#.NET that is continuously running. Now when i stop it from the services.msc initially it shows that it has been stopped but after some time when i refresh the services.msc it shows as started again. I also checked in the task manager at the same time, i see that the exe of my application gets killed but starts on its own again. Please help.
