• Is it possible to get a pointer to String^'s internal array in C++/CLI?

  The goal is to avoid copying the string data when I need a const wchar_t*. The answer seems to be yes, but the function PtrToStringChars doesn't have its own MSDN entry (it's only mentioned in the KB and blogs as a trick).   I want to create an MXML container component that has some of its own chrome -- a standard query display, et al -- and that supports the addition of child components to it. Something a lot like the existing mx:Panel class, which includes a title label, but acts like a plain mx:Box with regards to adding children. What's the easiest way to do this? Edit: To be clear, I want to be able to extend the container using MXML, so the "Multiple visual children" problem is relevant.

  Hi, I am doing an App which access the gprs .I am facing problem when the user starts another application who uses gprs also like google maps .It takes it own heap memory ,after doing some operation on Maps app it calls OnLowMemory of my service .and my ui is also killed in background. • Given a PHP class would be the best and simplest way to override one or two of its methods with one

  Here's the objective. I have a PHP class and there are one or two of its methods that I would like to override with my own. As I understand OOP (in PHP and in general) I could write a child class that extends it and overrides the functionality of the methods in question. However, I was wondering if this is the best way of achieving this task and if this is a proper use for child classes or if there is something better in PHP for what I'm trying to do.

  I have a TreeView control in a Windows Forms application that is displaying my own subclass of TreeNode. I need to display a number along with each node's text indicating its position in the tree, like 1 for the root, 1.1 for its first child, 1.2 for its second child, etc. I'm using C# with .NET 2.0 The best that I can come up with is, after the tree is built, go to each node, recursively find the parent and append the parent's sibling number to the front of the node's text until you reach the root.

• How does SO's form remember previous input values?

  I've noticed that the Title or Body part is remembered if I come back to the Ask Question page by pressing Back button of my browser. This feature is available in all browsers I tested, but doesn't exist for the forms in my own projects. How can I approach that effect? UPDATE I still don't have any clue yet,but guess it that some kind of client cache enabled by http headers or javascript?

  When you have a slow database app, the first suggestions that people make is to: Track the slow queries Add appropriate indexes In the case you are building your own application this is very logical, but when you use a CMS like Drupal, that are people have developed and tuned, is this approach valid? I mean, aren't Drupal tables already fine-tuned for performance? Even if I try to see which queries are the slow ones, what could I do about it? Re-write Drupal core?!?

  Is there a standard C library function to escape C-strings? For example, if I had the C string: char example[] = "first line\nsecond line: \"inner quotes\""; And I wanted to print "first line\nsecond line: \"inner quotes\"" Is there a library function that will do that transformation for me? Rolling my own just seems a little silly. Bonus points if I can give it a length to escape (so it stops before or beyond the \0).

  I'm using the symbol \otimes as a unary operator and it's vertical alignment doesn't seem right to me. It wants to sit a bit below the baseline: and I tried using \raisebox to fix this, e.g., \raisebox{1pt}{$\otimes$}: But \raisebox doesn't seem to be sensitive to subscripts. The operator stays the same size while everything around it shrinks: The problem, I think, is that \raisebox creates its own LR box, which doesn't inherit the settings in the surrounding math environment. Is there a version of \raisebox that "respects math"?

  I have a domain object called page that only has a title, I then have subclasses what are StaticPage that also has a textblock and PicturePage that contains a url. I have a site object that has many pages, I am looking for a way in the view for the site to call the a different template for each subclass.
