  • How to handle redirection in an Ajax based application

    - by nimo
hi all, I'm developing a Ajax based php application. As anybody knows, I'm checking whether user is logged in every php file as the first statement. And there are two ways that I should response in an event of logging failure, server redirect to the login page using header(url). CASE: If user directly enter a particular URL passing url in Ajax response asking client side page redirection or notification CASE: If user trying to perform some action through a Ajax request So my question is how can identify whether request coming from client side is a Ajax call or not ? If I know that I can handle my response accordingly. OR Is there a better way of handling above scenario ? Thank You

  • Does jQuery or JavaScript have the concept of classes and objects?

    - by Prashant
I found the following code somewhere, but I am not understanding the code properly. ArticleVote.submitVote('no');return false; Is ArticleVote a class and submitVote() a function of that class? Or what does the above code mean? And is there any concept of classes and objects in jQuery or in traditional JavaScript? How to create them? Please share some reference links or code.

  • error in C# code

    - by user318068
    hi all . I have a problem with my code in C# . if i click in compiler button , I get the following errors 'System.Collections.Generic.LinkedList' does not contain a definition for 'removeFirst' and no extension method 'removeFirst' accepting a first argument of type 'System.Collections.Generic.LinkedList' could be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?). and 'System.Collections.Generic.LinkedList' does not contain a definition for 'addLast' and no extension method 'addLast' accepting a first argument of type 'System.Collections.Generic.LinkedList' could be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) This is part of a simple program using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Text; namespace Hanoi { public class Sol { public LinkedList<int?> t1 = new LinkedList<int?>(); public LinkedList<int?> t2 =new LinkedList<int?>(); public LinkedList<int?> t3 =new LinkedList<int?>(); public int depth; public LinkedList<Sol> neighbors; public Sol(LinkedList<int?> t1, LinkedList<int?> t2, LinkedList<int?> t3) { this.t1 = t1; this.t2 = t2; this.t3 = t3; neighbors = new LinkedList<Sol>(); } public virtual void getneighbors() { Sol temp = this.copy(); Sol neighbor1 = this.copy(); Sol neighbor2 = this.copy(); Sol neighbor3 = this.copy(); Sol neighbor4 = this.copy(); Sol neighbor5 = this.copy(); Sol neighbor6 = this.copy(); if (temp.t1.Count != 0) { if (neighbor1.t2.Count != 0) { if (neighbor1.t1.First.Value < neighbor1.t2.First.Value) { neighbor1.t2.AddFirst(neighbor1.t1.RemoveFirst()); neighbors.AddLast(neighbor1); } } else { neighbor1.t2.AddFirst(neighbor1.t1.RemoveFirst()); neighbors.AddLast(neighbor1); } if (neighbor2.t3.Count != 0) { if (neighbor2.t1.First.Value < neighbor2.t3.First.Value) { neighbor2.t3.AddFirst(neighbor2.t1.RemoveFirst()); neighbors.AddLast(neighbor2); } } else I hope that you find someone to help me

  • j2ME setLocationListener()

    - by Jeff Catania
I'm programming a GPS tracking system using the Motorola i335 running on Sprint's IDEN network. I'm using the javax.microedition.location api to find the GPS coordinates. To set up the updating, you use the [setLocationListener][1] method. I originally tried passing (listener,2,1,1). However there was too many invalid locations being received (where the GPS could not get the fix in the specified time), so I changed the parameters to (listener, 20, 20, 1). Now the system barely throws any invalid locations. My goal is to get the fastest number of updates that are realistic. Have any of you found a happy medium for parameters of this method? • Speeding up templates in GAE-Py by aggregating RPC calls

    - by Sudhir Jonathan
Here's my problem: class City(Model): name = StringProperty() class Author(Model): name = StringProperty() city = ReferenceProperty(City) class Post(Model): author = ReferenceProperty(Author) content = StringProperty() The code isn't important... its this django template: {% for post in posts %} <div>{{post.content}}</div> <div>by {{post.author.name}} from {{post.author.city.name}}</div> {% endfor %} Now lets say I get the first 100 posts using Post.all().fetch(limit=100), and pass this list to the template - what happens? It makes 200 more datastore gets - 100 to get each author, 100 to get each author's city. This is perfectly understandable, actually, since the post only has a reference to the author, and the author only has a reference to the city. The __get__ accessor on the post.author and author.city objects transparently do a get and pull the data back (See this question). Some ways around this are Use Post.author.get_value_for_datastore(post) to collect the author keys (see the link above), and then do a batch get to get them all - the trouble here is that we need to re-construct a template data object... something which needs extra code and maintenance for each model and handler. Write an accessor, say cached_author, that checks memcache for the author first and returns that - the problem here is that post.cached_author is going to be called 100 times, which could probably mean 100 memcache calls. Hold a static key to object map (and refresh it maybe once in five minutes) if the data doesn't have to be very up to date. The cached_author accessor can then just refer to this map. All these ideas need extra code and maintenance, and they're not very transparent. What if we could do @prefetch def render_template(path, data) template.render(path, data) Turns out we can... hooks and Guido's instrumentation module both prove it. If the @prefetch method wraps a template render by capturing which keys are requested we can (atleast to one level of depth) capture which keys are being requested, return mock objects, and do a batch get on them. This could be repeated for all depth levels, till no new keys are being requested. The final render could intercept the gets and return the objects from a map. This would change a total of 200 gets into 3, transparently and without any extra code. Not to mention greatly cut down the need for memcache and help in situations where memcache can't be used. Trouble is I don't know how to do it (yet). Before I start trying, has anyone else done this? Or does anyone want to help? Or do you see a massive flaw in the plan?

  • How to get the header of the parent node of a selected TreeViewItem?

    - by Dabblernl
I have this TreeView: Main Node Header="Main" Sub Node Header="Sub1" Final Node Header="Item1" Final Node Header="Item2" Sub Node Header="Sub 2" Final Node Header="Item1" Final Node Header="Item2" I have two textboxes that are bound to this TreeView. One has its Text property bound to the TreeView's SelectedItem property and works OK. The other TextBox I want to bind to the Header text of the Sub Node directly above the selected Item. How do I reference it?

However, rails ignores the name of action totally! what I got is http://mysite/controllername/paramId so i have error message.... here is the action code I used: def update @tip = current_user.tips.find(params[:id]) @tip.attributes = params[:tip] @tip.category_ids = params[:categories] @tip.tag_with(params[:tags]) if params[:tags] if @tip.save flash[:notice] = 'Tip was successfully updated.' redirect_to :controller=>'tips', :action => 'show', :id => @tip.permalink else render :action => 'edit' end end

  • URLClassLoader does not find folders in jar if not ending with '/'?

    - by IttayD
A 3rd party library (jersey) is trying to find Java packages by ClassLoader#findResource passing in the package name as file name (replacing dots with slashes). What I see is that if I pass a package name as 'a.b.c' (converted to 'a/b/c') it is not found, but if I pass 'a.b.c.' it is found. This translated directly to URL#inputStream that uses ZipFile which doesn't find the entry a/b/c, but finds the entry a/b/c/ I'm trying to find if this is the intended behavior or is there something wrong with my packaging (maven) or the URLs passed to the classloader (which look like jar:file://C:/.../foo.jar!/)

  • How do I calculate percentiles with python/numpy?

    - by Uri
Is there a convenient way to calculate percentiles for a sequence or single-dimensional numpy array? I am looking for something similar to Excel's percentile function. I looked in NumPy's statistics reference, and couldn't find this. All I could find is the median (50th percentile), but not something more specific.

I am using a custom class loader which extends URLClassLoader. I load some classes into my custom class loader and perform some task. Once the task is completed i want to dispose of the class loader. I tried doing that by setting the reference to null. But this does not garbage collect the class loader. Is there a way that can help what i want to achieve?

  • Using Google Weather API with Lat and Lon - how to format?

    - by Paul
I am wanting to use the Google Weather API - by passing lat and long values. However it seems Google is needing these formatted differently to the values I have stored. i.e. For the town of McTavish I have values of 45.5 and -73.583 This works here: http://api.wunderground.com/auto/wui/geo/WXCurrentObXML/index.xml?query=45.5,-73.583 But when I use Google it does not: See: www.google.com/ig/api?weather=,,,45.5,-73.583 Any help appreciated. I would prefer to use the Google Data.

  • Perl, treat string as binary byte array

    - by Mike
In Perl, is it appropriate to use a string as a byte array containing 8-bit data? All the documentation I can find on this subject focuses on 7-bit strings. For instance, if I read some data from a binary file into $data my $data; open FILE, "<", $filepath; binmode FILE; read FILE $data 1024; and I want to get the first byte out, is substr($data,1,1) appropriate? (again, assuming it is 8-bit data) I come from a mostly C background, and I am used to passing a char pointer to a read() function. My problem might be that I don't understand what the underlying representation of a string is in Perl.

  • How to change order in ordered+persisted collection?

    - by Jaroslav Záruba
I just need to change order of items in a (previously persisted) ordered collection... I tried simply passing the re-arranged collection to a setter: after committing a transaction the collection is gone. Then I tried to clear() the existing collection and addAll() afterwards: clear() makes persistent manager to mark all the elements as deleted. (But obviously I would like to be able to work with the collection items in the very transaction.) (The collection is not in a default fetch group, so I tried the above also with the named fetch group added into the fetch plan. No luck.) This must be the most stupid question, but I ran out of ideas and I'm stuck here two days already. I swear I googled. :(

  • How to generate a good random seed to pass to srand()?

    - by zr
Hi, I am writing a C++ program which needs to create a temporary file for its internal usage. I would like to allow concurrent executions of the program by running multiple proccesses, so the temporary file name needs to be randomized, that way each spawned process will generate a unique temporary file name for its own use. I am using rand() to generate random characters for part of the file name, so i need to initialize the random number generator's seed using srand(). What options are there for passing a good argument to srand() such that two processes will not be initialized with the same seed value? My code needs to work both on Windows and pn Linux TIA.

  • Get all Select Elements in a Form by referencing $(this) instead of $("form select")

    - by DaveDev
Hi Guys I'm currently getting all the Select elements that exist in a form with the following: $("form").submit(function(event) { // gather data var data = GetSelectData($("form select")); // do submit $.post($(this).attr("action"), data, ..etc) }); Instead of passing in $("form select"), is there a way I can say something like $(this).children('select') // this doesn't work, btw to get all the select elements that exist within the context of the form the submit event is executing for? This will allow me to reduce my code to the following, moving all the functionality into a common function: $("form").submit(function(event) { GatherDataAndSubmit($(this)); }); function GatherDataAndSubmit(obj) { var data = GetSelectData(obj.children('select')); $.post(obj.attr("action"), data, ..etc) } Thanks Dave

  • How do I update with a newly-created detached entity using NHibernate?

    - by Daniel T.
Explanation: Let's say I have an object graph that's nested several levels deep and each entity has a bi-directional relationship with each other. A -> B -> C -> D -> E Or in other words, A has a collection of B and B has a reference back to A, and B has a collection of C and C has a reference back to B, etc... Now let's say I want to edit some data for an instance ofC. In Winforms, I would use something like this: var instanceOfC; using (var session = SessionFactory.OpenSession()) { // get the instance of C with Id = 3 instanceOfC = session.Linq<C>().Where(x => x.Id == 3); } SendToUIAndLetUserUpdateData(instanceOfC); using (var session = SessionFactory.OpenSession()) { // re-attach the detached entity and update it session.Update(instanceOfC); } In plain English, we grab a persistent instance out of the database, detach it, give it to the UI layer for editing, then re-attach it and save it back to the database. Problem: This works fine for Winform applications because we're using the same entity all throughout, the only difference being that it goes from persistent to detached to persistent again. The problem occurs when I'm using a web service and a browser, sending over JSON data. In this case, the data that comes back is no longer a detached entity, but rather a transient one that just happens to have the same ID as the persistent one. If I use this entity to update, it will wipe out the relationship to B and D unless I sent the entire object graph over to the UI and got it back in one piece. Question: My question is, how do I serialize detached entities over the web, receive them back, and save them, while preserving any relationships that I didn't explicitly change? I know about ISession.SaveOrUpdateCopy and ISession.Merge() (they seem to do the same thing?), but this will still wipe out the relationships if I don't explicitly set them. I could copy the fields from the transient entity to the persistent entity one by one, but this doesn't work too well when it comes to relationships and I'd have to handle version comparisons manually.

  • Leak in NSScanner category method

    - by jluckyiv
I created an NSScanner category method that shows a leak in instruments. - (BOOL)scanBetweenPrefix:(NSString *)prefix andSuffix:(NSString *)suffix intoString:(NSString **)value { NSCharacterSet *charactersToBeSkipped = [self charactersToBeSkipped]; [self setCharactersToBeSkipped:nil]; BOOL result = NO; // find the prefix; the scanString method below fails if you don't do this if (![self scanUpToString:prefix intoString:nil]) { MY_LOG(@"Prefix %@ is missing.", prefix); return result; } //scan the prefix and discard [self scanString:prefix intoString:nil]; // scan the important part and save it if ([self scanUpToString:suffix intoString:value]) // this line leaks { result = YES; } [self setCharactersToBeSkipped:charactersToBeSkipped]; return result; } I figure it's the way I'm passing the value to/from the method, but I'm not sure. It's a small leak (32 bytes), but I'd like to do this right if I can. Thanks in advance.

  • Is AMQP suitable as both an intra and inter-machine software bus?

    - by Bwooce
I'm trying to get my head around AMQP. It looks great for inter-machine (cluster, LAN, WAN) communication between applications but I'm not sure if it is suitable (in architectural, and current implementation terms) for use as a software bus within one machine. Would it be worth pulling out a current high performance message passing framework to replace it with AMQP, or is this falling into the same trap as RPC by blurring the distinction between local and non-local communication? I'm also wary of the performance impacts of using a WAN technology for intra-machine communications, although this may be more of an implementation concern than architecture. War stories would be appreciated.
