  • Controlled hyperlink hijaxing

    I am working on a web application. I have a data grid with a 'commands' column that has hyperlinks for some common CRUD operations (Edit, Delete, etc). When a user clicks on say the Edit hyperlink, I retrieve the unique identifier for the data grid row and load a modal form dialog (i am using jQuery UI) so the user is able to edit the row data and subsequently close the modal form dialog at which point I refresh the page. Now, before the page is done refreshing, there's a chance that a user might click on the edit link again, and whenever that happens, 'hijaxing' fails. My question is how can i check that if a user clicks on a hyperlink and the page is refreshing, i delay until it is done refreshing, then i allow the 'hijax' to kick in.

What I want to do : 1. as soon as User hits [X] button of browser, need to set there status as logged off in database for which we have a method in Login.aspx file which is within the masterpage. 2.   • RoR live-search (text_field_with_auto_complete) submit.

    I have a "Movies" and a "Actors" table and "Casts" as join-model. To be more specific "Casts" has movie_id, actor_id and rolename. I want in "Movies" form to add a live search to search through actors and a "rolename" text_field and save those to "Casts". I don't know if text_field_with_auto_complete is the right choice but i prefer not to use much javascript because i am not familiar with it. I've been searching all over the internet to find something similar to this without any result. I've manage to get it working with "@actors.each do" but it makes a very long list.

    There are many forms in my page. I want to merge them in one object and submit them in one object. But I find serializeArray() or serialize() do not match my request, the serializeArray function will generate a array object and serialize is used by get model, it is not an object. is there a jquery or local function can merge them in one object. I have one solution but it is not perfect, loop the array object generated by serializeArray, use $.extend to merge them in one object. is there a better method? kindly help, thanks.

    I'm using jQuery to load the result of a PHP script into a variable. The script is passed something that the user typed with a GET request. I want to take just what the script spit out into its <body> tag. Here's what I've tried: JS: function loader() { var typed = $('#i').val(); //get what user typed in $.get("script.php", {i: typed}, function(loaded) {dataloaded = loaded;}); alert($(dataloaded).find('body')) } But it just displays [Objec object]. How can I get a useful value that is just the contents of the body of a loaded page? I know the PHP works, I just need the JS. The script echos something like 1!!2 (two numbers separated by two exclamation points). Thanks!

    Hi, I'm a .NET programmer who've just started to learn more about client side scripting, and I was wondering sometimes you use $get('value') and $find('value') and I've discovered that these are just shortcuts for document.getElementById('value') and Sys.Application.findComponent('value'), respectively. However, I still don't understand: what is the difference between these two functions in JavaScript? What exactly are they looking up/retrieving when invoked? Thanks in advance.

    Is it possible to a jquery $.get() to call a servlet and use it to both download a file or update the page without reloading the page? (Or more basically, can I download a file without reloading the page?) For example, I am using a servlet that either returns a file to download of mimetype "application/octet-stream", or returns text to be update in the page of type "text/html".     Hello. I am new to Android and mobile phones development. I want to develop an application that needs to have a total control over the "phone" of the smartphone, i.e. controlling all the communication of the GSM chip with the cellular system, accessing the SIM card identity that it sends (encrypted) to the cellular system, disabling the cellular antenna and resuming it back, and more of that kind... Can it be done with Android? Does the software (OS) have control over all of the phone components in a smartphone, or there are some parts that are done in the hardware level only? (I guess that the Android API won't enable me to do everything i want, but even theoretically is it possible if I recompile the OS after making the changes there?) Thanks!

    so, i've found a way to bind a label to a property on current Control i give it a name: <UserControl x:Class="WpfGridtest.GridControl" x:Name="GridControlControl1"> and than bind to property of this control: <Label Content="{Binding ElementName=GridControlControl1, Path=Filter}"></Label> I can see the default value i put in that property. I am guessing that this isn't working because i am binding to String property which doesn't implement INotifyPropertyChanged?? is there some other type i should be using for this property instead of String auto notify my label of changes, or am i going about this the wrong way?

  • Update MySQl table onDrop?

    Hi all. I am writing a PHP/MySQL application (using CodeIgniter) that uses some jQuery functionality for dragging table rows. I have a table in which the user can drag rows to the desired order (kind of a queue for which I need to preserve the rank of each row). I've been trying to figure out how to (and whether I should) update the database each time the user drops a row, in order to simplify the UI and avoid a "Save" button. I have the jQuery working and can send a serialized list back to the server onDrop, but is it good design practice to run an update query this often? The table will usually have 30-40 rows max, but if the user drags row 1 far down the list, then potentially all the rows would need to be updated to update the rank field. I've been wondering whether to send a giant query to the server, to loop through the rows in PHP and update each row with its own Update query, to send a small serialized list to a stored procedure to let the server do all the work, or perhaps a better method I haven't considered. I've read that stored procedures in MySQL are not very efficient and use a separate process for each call. Any advice as to the right solution here? Thanks very much for your help!
