  Take a look at the following code. What my problem is is that I can't figure out how to redimension the n integer and the b integer. What I'm doing is the array sent1 is already working and it is populated with about 4 sentences. • Defcon totally screwed up my system!

  I'm using Ubuntu 12.04. Downloaded and ran a game called Defcon, by Introversion Software, and then my display problems began! At first, my smallest monitor stopped receiving input. Then, when I exit the game, still no input & I look at the 'Display' System Settings menu and it is off. I try switching it back on, and my system totally crashes. I restart my system, and try two more times at switching it back on, before I go back to basics and switch mirroring on before switching that monitor on. Now I've switched mirroring off, but if I set the resolution for my largest monitor above that of my other monitor, my system crashes! What the heck! Does anyone have a solution to my problems?

• Force Gnome 3 to work

  I have Ubuntu 12.10 on dual-boot with windows XP. My PC specifications are AMD Sempron 2800+ 1,6GHz with 512 MB ram and ATI Radeon 9250 graphic card with 128 MB memory. As Unity works slow and I don't like it's look, I installed gnome-shell. But as you know, Gnome 3 won't work on it. But gnome classic without effects works great. Thing is, when I turn off windows (by holding the power button or pressing restart button) my resolution on Linux is changed to 1024x768, and I can only change it by turning off the PC and turning off it's power source. But it is not the problem. The problem is that it runs Gnome 3 after one restart, it also runs better than Unity. My question is: Can I somehow force gnome 3 to work always and disable some of it's effects so it can run better?

If some sections are out of order, I would like to look for the starting of the next valid section and continue processing. • Collision for mobile game

  I'm writing a little game in as3 using Starling, and I need to check collision between 2 boats that can rotate. I don't need the pixel perfect collision, but bounds collision is not enough too. The boat look more or less like this: I was thinking about create one square on the back of the boat and a triangle on the front, than for each boat, check if the square collide with the other boat square or triangle, and the same for the triangle. I just don't know how to do that, I don't know if it's possible with the Shape.hitTest, or if it's the best way to do that. What can I do?

• 3D primitive rendering library

  Hi, I am looking for a library which would easily allow me to render shapes (cubes, spheres, lines, circles, etc.) in 3D3 and OpenGL if possible. I want to be able to rapidly design visual debugging tools and I am not proefficient enough in graphics rendering to do it myself (writing the low level stuff that is). The library would have to be for C/C++. I've already taken a look at the open-source 3d engine, but I feel those are too big for what I really need. Do any of you know if such library exist? If so, links would be appreciated!

  I've been reading questions and discussions on this website but haven't made an account to start talking or asking anything I had doubts in so please bare with a newbie here. What are specific languages that have are able to make a program that will record, and organize things such as hours, salaries, payments? Also solve business problems, mostly with payments, how much money there will be after interest, taxes and such. • How to track inbound HTTP traffic using Plesk 10.4.4?

  I am running Plesk 10.4.4 on a Debian 6.0 server. The outbound traffic is being tracked but the inbound http traffic seems to be 0 at all times, i.e. looking at the DomainsTraffic and ClientsTraffic the http_in column is always 0. Is this a setting that I have missed? I've had a look and cannot find anything. How do I get Plesk to track the inbound HTTP traffic? I have already made sure that Home Tools & Settings Server settings had 'Include in the traffic calculation' set to 'inbound and outbound traffic', yet this does not solve the problem. Apache allows inbound traffic to be logged using %I in the log format, is there a way to get Plesk to add the %I to the log and then use that in bandwidth calculations?

• How do I reset a lost Administrative(root) password?

  I'm working on a Ubuntu 10.04 (Lucid Lynx) system using a Panasonic CF-50 Laptop. My Client has completely forgotten his Administrative Password. He doesn't even remember entering one; however it is there. I've tried the suggestions on the WebSite and I have been unsuccessful in deleting the password so that I can download applets required for running some files. Do you have a solution? • Pinging/connecting to server.domain.local never works, but server does when the search domain is specified

  This is a bit of a weird one. I'm running ubuntu on a Windows domain. If I type "ping server" I can ping correctly and I can connect without any problems. It looks up my search domain (domain.local) and everything is hunky dory. Problem is when I try to ping server.domain.local. It just can't look up the server and comes back with "ping: unknown host server.domain.local" Part of me thinks that the name servers aren't set correctly, but I wonder if there is something I can do to get around it.

• Lost in Code?

  Sometimes you're coding and you find yourself forgetting your context. For example, look at this situation: The cursor is on line 52. Imagine you're coding there and you're puzzling on some problem for some time. Wouldn't it be handy to know, without scrolling up (and then back down again to where you were working), what the method signature looks like? And does the method begin two lines above the visible code or 10 lines? That information can now, in NetBeans iDE 7.3 (and already in the 7.3 Beta) very easily be ascertained, by putting the cursor on the closing brace of the code block: As you can see, a new vertical line is shown parallel to the line numbers, connecting the end of the method with its start, as well as, at the top of the editor, the complete method signature, together with the number of the line on which it's found. Very handy. Same support is found for other file types, such as in JavaScript files.
