  • How much market shares OpenGL2.0 in iPhone os hardwares(iPhone/iPot Touch)

    - by Eonil
    I'm planning making a game for AppStore, so I'm studying GLES. But, GLES 1.1 and 2.0 APIs are different about handling in some features.(and limitations) I have not enough time to consider both of them, I have to choosing one. 2.0 is clearly better in developer's view, but I'm worry about it's market share. I wish most users moved on newer SGX based hardware, but in fact, I don't know. Does anybody have information about location of those hardware ratio data in iPhone OS supported hardwares? (iPhone/iPod touch, per GPU) Please let me know.

  • aspectRatio = backingWidth / backingHeight ???

    - by carrots
    What am I doing wrong here, I can't get the result of this division: aspectRatio = backingWidth / backingHeight; I've thought I might try casting to (GLfloat) but that didn't do anything. As I step through the code I see that aspectRatio is 0 after the operation, while backingWidth is clearly 768 and backingHeight is 1029. Here are the types: GLfloat aspectRatio; and // The pixel dimensions of the CAEAGLLayer GLint backingWidth; GLint backingHeight; It must be something basic I'm doing wrong here..

  • Stop Entity Framework from updating edmx model with a column that isn't needed

    - by TMan
    I have rowguids in all my tables to help with change tracking in all my tables. I don't want/need these tables in my edmx or my entities. However, I do still need to make changes to other things sometimes so everytime i go to update model from database in the edmx it adds all the rowguids in all my tables everytime and i have to manually delete each one. Is there a way to handle this from happening? Is there a way I can maybe edit the T4 to maybe ignore that 'rowguid' column? Database first Entity framework

  • Using Color.rgb() doesnt work for full 0...255 range

    - by superflyninja
    I'm writing an android game using opengl. I'm using: colour = Color.rgb(theR,theG,theB); (all ints) to store the color of a rectangle. Then I parse out the RGB to render the rectangle: colorR = Color.red(color); colorG = Color.green(color); colorB = Color.blue(color); For example for color 53,130,255 this should result in a blue but on my app it results in a white. If i use 1,1,1 i get white. If i use 0,0,0 i get black. If i use 0,1,0 I get green etc. So it looks like any value over one is treated as 1 and so i am not getting the full 0...255 range. I tried using Color.argb and color = Color.parseColor(theColor) where the Color is a string. I'm using this in an opengles app. I have a class to display a rectangle of color. This definitely works fine as the correct size rectangle is rendered, just not a color using values above 1. I also use textures and everything displays fine. any ideas? thanks a million

  • Does Entity Framework saves related classes automatically?

    - by herbatnic
    Let's assume that we have such classes public class A{ string someField { get; set; } public virtual B B {get; set; } } public class B { int someIntField {get; set; } [ForeignKey("Id")] [Required] public virtual A A { get; set; } } In code I create new instances for both of them and making relation like: A a = new A () { someField = "abcd"}; B b = new B () { someIntField = 42 }; A.B = b; B.A = a; Should I using DBContext to save both classes like that: using (var db = new myDbContext()) { myDbContext.As.Add(A); myDbContext.Bs.Add(B); myDBContext.SaveChanges(); } Or saving it like that: using (var db = new myDbContext()) { myDbContext.As.Add(A); myDbContext.SaveChanges(); } is enough to store related objects into database?

  • Normalized class design and code first

    - by dc7a9163d9
    There are the following two classes. public class Employee { int EmployeeId { get; set; } public string FirstName { get; set; } public string LastName { get; set; } public string Street { get; set; } public string Street2 { get; set; } public string City { get; set; } public string State { get; set; } public string Zip { get; set; } } public class Company { int CompanyId { get; set; } public string Name { get; set; } public string Street { get; set; } public string Street2 { get; set; } public string City { get; set; } public string State { get; set; } public string Zip { get; set; } } In a DDD seminar, the speaker said the better design should be, class PersonName { public string FirstName { get; set; } public string LastName { get; set; } } class Address { public string Street { get; set; } public string Street2 { get; set; } public string City { get; set; } public string State { get; set; } public string Zip { get; set; } } public class Employee { int EmployeeId { get; set; } public PersonName Name { get; set; } [ForeignKey("EmployerAddress")] public int EmployerAddressId { get; set; } public virtual Address EmployerAddress { get; set; } } public class Company { int CompanyId { get; set; } public string Name { get; set; } [ForeignKey("CompanyAddress")] public int CompanyAddressId { get; set; } public virtual Address CompanyAddress { get; set; } } Is it the optimized design? How the code first generate the PersonName table and link it to Employee?

  • Simple gradient issue with OpenGL on iphone simulator

    - by Paul
    i was following the tutorial from raywenderlich website, the gradient seems not to work perfectly, is it only because of the iphone simulator, or is it something else? I can't try myself with an iphone. Here is the image : And the code : -(CCSprite *)spriteWithColor:(ccColor4F)bgColor textureSize:(float)textureSize { // 1: Create new CCRenderTexture CCRenderTexture *rt = [CCRenderTexture renderTextureWithWidth:textureSize height:screenSize.height]; // 2: Call CCRenderTexture:begin [rt beginWithClear:bgColor.r g:bgColor.g b:bgColor.b a:bgColor.a]; // 3: Draw into the texture glDisable(GL_TEXTURE_2D); glDisableClientState(GL_TEXTURE_COORD_ARRAY); float gradientAlpha = 0.5; CGPoint vertices[4]; ccColor4F colors[4]; int nVertices = 0; vertices[nVertices] = CGPointMake(0, 0); colors[nVertices++] = (ccColor4F){0, 0, 0, 0}; vertices[nVertices] = CGPointMake(textureSize, 0); colors[nVertices++] = (ccColor4F){0, 0, 0, gradientAlpha}; vertices[nVertices] = CGPointMake(0, screenSize.height); colors[nVertices++] = (ccColor4F){0, 0, 0, 0}; vertices[nVertices] = CGPointMake(textureSize, screenSize.height); colors[nVertices++] = (ccColor4F){0, 0, 0, gradientAlpha}; glVertexPointer(2, GL_FLOAT, 0, vertices); glColorPointer(4, GL_FLOAT, 0, colors); glDrawArrays(GL_TRIANGLE_STRIP, 0, (GLsizei)nVertices); glEnableClientState(GL_TEXTURE_COORD_ARRAY); glEnable(GL_TEXTURE_2D); // 4: Call CCRenderTexture:end [rt end]; // 5: Create a new Sprite from the texture return [CCSprite spriteWithTexture:rt.sprite.texture]; } Thanks

  • Complete Math Library for use in OpenGL ES 2.0 Game?

    - by Bunkai.Satori
    Are you aware of a complete (or almost complete) cross platform math library for use in OpenGL ES 2.0 games? The library should contain: Matrix2x2, Matrix 3x3, Matrix4x4 classes Quaternions Vector2, Vector3, Vector4 Classes Euler Angle Class Operations amongh the above mentioned classes, conversions, etc.. Standardly used math operations in 3D graphics (Dot Product, Cross Product, SLERP, etc...) Is there such Math API available either standalone or as a part of any package? Programming Language: Visual C++ but planned to be ported to OS X and Android OS.

  • Caching with AVPlayer and AVAssetExportSession

    - by tba
    I would like to cache progressive-download videos using AVPlayer. How can I save an AVPlayer's item to disk? I'm trying to use AVAssetExportSession on the player's currentItem (which is fully loaded). This code is giving me "AVAssetExportSessionStatusFailed (The operation could not be completed)" : AVAsset *mediaAsset = self.player.currentItem.asset; AVAssetExportSession *es = [[AVAssetExportSession alloc] initWithAsset:mediaAsset presetName:AVAssetExportPresetLowQuality]; NSString *outPath = [NSTemporaryDirectory() stringByAppendingPathComponent:@"out.mp4"]; NSFileManager *fileManager = [NSFileManager defaultManager]; [fileManager removeItemAtPath:outPath error:NULL]; es.outputFileType = @"com.apple.quicktime-movie"; es.outputURL = [[[NSURL alloc] initFileURLWithPath:outPath] autorelease]; NSLog(@"exporting to %@",outPath); [es exportAsynchronouslyWithCompletionHandler:^{ NSString *status = @""; if( es.status == AVAssetExportSessionStatusUnknown ) status = @"AVAssetExportSessionStatusUnknown"; else if( es.status == AVAssetExportSessionStatusWaiting ) status = @"AVAssetExportSessionStatusWaiting"; else if( es.status == AVAssetExportSessionStatusExporting ) status = @"AVAssetExportSessionStatusExporting"; else if( es.status == AVAssetExportSessionStatusCompleted ) status = @"AVAssetExportSessionStatusCompleted"; else if( es.status == AVAssetExportSessionStatusFailed ) status = @"AVAssetExportSessionStatusFailed"; else if( es.status == AVAssetExportSessionStatusCancelled ) status = @"AVAssetExportSessionStatusCancelled"; NSLog(@"done exporting to %@ status %d = %@ (%@)",outPath,es.status, status,[[es error] localizedDescription]); }]; How can I export successfully? I'm looking into copying mediaAsset into an AVMutableComposition, but haven't had much luck with that either. Thanks! PS: Here are some questions from people trying to accomplish the same thing (but with MPMoviePlayerController): Cache Progressive downloaded content in MPMoviePlayerController Simultaneously stream and save a video? • Convert SQL to LINQ in MVC3 with Ninject

    - by Jeff
    I'm using MVC3 and still learning LINQ. I'm having some trouble trying to convert a query to LINQ to Entities. I want to return an employee object. SELECT E.EmployeeID, E.FirstName, E.LastName, MAX(EO.EmployeeOperationDate) AS "Last Operation" FROM Employees E INNER JOIN EmployeeStatus ES ON E.EmployeeID = ES.EmployeeID INNER JOIN EmployeeOperations EO ON ES.EmployeeStatusID = EO.EmployeeStatusID INNER JOIN Teams T ON T.TeamID = ES.TeamID WHERE T.TeamName = 'MyTeam' GROUP BY E.EmployeeID, E.FirstName, E.LastName ORDER BY E.FirstName, E.LastName What I have is a few tables, but I need to get only the newest status based on the EmployeeOpertionDate. This seems to work fine in SQL. I'm also using Ninject and set my query to return Ienumerable. I played around with the group by option but it then returns IGroupable. Any guidance on converting and returning the property object type would be appreciated. Edit: I started writing this out in LINQ but I'm not sure how to properly return the correct type or cast this. public IQueryable<Employee> GetEmployeesByTeam(int teamID) { var q = from E in context.Employees join ES in context.EmployeeStatuses on E.EmployeeID equals ES.EmployeeID join EO in context.EmployeeOperations on ES.EmployeeStatusID equals EO.EmployeeStatusID join T in context.Teams on ES.TeamID equals T.TeamID where T.TeamName == "MyTeam" group E by E.EmployeeID into G select G; return q; } Edit2: This seems to work for me public IQueryable<Employee> GetEmployeesByTeam(int teamID) { var q = from E in context.Employees join ES in context.EmployeeStatuses on E.EmployeeID equals ES.EmployeeID join EO in context.EmployeeOperations.OrderByDescending(eo => eo.EmployeeOperationDate) on ES.EmployeeStatusID equals EO.EmployeeStatusID join T in context.Teams on ES.TeamID equals T.TeamID where T.TeamID == teamID group E by E.EmployeeID into G select G.FirstOrDefault(); return q; }

  • Megjelent az Oracle Enterprise Manager 11g

    - by Lajos Sárecz
Mivel minden egyes réteg képes befolyásolni a felhasználói élményt, ezért amint a felhasználókat érinto probléma detektálásra kerül, szükséges az érintett réteg részletes diagnosztikája, elemzése. További portolások a következo hetekben várhatók.

  • Can I Use EF Across Multiple DBs in One SQLServer Instance?

    - by thomashubschman
    Hello, I have been searching the blogs and articles but I have not found much support for this scenario. I have been poking around EF and realized that I could create views that contained data from multiple databases and then build the EF object model off of those views. Although it works I am not sure about the usual issues of performance, scalability, maintainability. The way I am achieving the connection between databases is by creating associations in the EF model. Does anyone have any information about this type of implementation? Either another solution or commentary on this proposed solution? Thanks, Tom

  • How can I write only to the stencil buffer in OpenGL ES 2.0?

    - by stephelton
    I'd like to write to the stencil buffer without incurring the cost of my expensive shaders. As I understand it, I write to the stencil buffer as a 'side effect' of rendering something. In this first pass where I write to the stencil buffer, I don't want to write anything to the color or depth buffer, and I definitely don't want to run through my lighting equations in my shaders. Do I need to create no-op shaders for this (and can I just discard fragments), or is there a better way to do this? As the title says, I'm using OpenGL ES 2.0. I haven't used the stencil buffer before, so if I seem to be misunderstanding something, feel free to be verbose.

  • OpenGL ES 2. How do I Create a Basic Fading Streak Effect?

    - by dugla
    For the iPad app I am writing using OpenGL ES 2 I have a single quad - shaded using GLSL - that is dragged around the screen. Very basic. This works fine. But is rather boring. I want to increase the coolness a bit in the following way: when the user drags the quad it leaves a streak behind that fades over time. Continuous dragging would be a bit like a streaking comet across the night sky. What is the simplest way to implement this? Thanks.

  • In OpenGl ES 2, should I allocate multiple transformation matrices?

    - by thm4ter
    In OpenGl ES 2, should I declare just one transformation matrix, and share it across all objects or should I declare a transformation matrix in each object that needs it? for clarification... something like this: public class someclass{ public static float[16] transMatrix = new float[16]; ... public static void translate(int x, int y){ //do translation here } } public class someotherclass{ ... void draw(GL10 unused){ someclass.translate(10,10); //draw } } verses something like this: public class obj1{ public static float[16] transMatrix = new float[16]; ... void draw(GL10 unused){ //translate //draw } } public class obj2{ public static float[16] transMatrix = new float[16]; ... void draw(GL10 unused){ //translate //draw } }

  • How can I read from multiple textures in an OpenGL ES 2 shader?

    - by Peyman Tahghighi
    How can I enable more than one texture in OpenGL ES 2 so that I can sample from all of them in my shader? For example, I'm trying to read from two different textures in my shader for the player's car. This is how I'm currently dealing with the texture for my car: glActiveTexture(GL_TEXTURE0); glBindTexture(GL_TEXTURE_2D, this->texture2DObj); glUniform1i(1, 0); glBindBuffer(GL_ARRAY_BUFFER, this->vertexBuffer); glEnableVertexAttribArray(0); int offset = 0; glVertexAttribPointer(0, 3, GL_FLOAT, GL_FALSE, this->vertexBufferSize,(const void *)offset); offset += 3 * sizeof(GLfloat); glEnableVertexAttribArray(1); glVertexAttribPointer(1, 2, GL_FLOAT, GL_FALSE, this->vertexBufferSize, (const void*)offset); glBindBuffer(GL_ELEMENT_ARRAY_BUFFER, this->indexBuffer); glDrawElements(GL_TRIANGLES, this->indexBufferSize, GL_UNSIGNED_SHORT, 0); glDisableVertexAttribArray(0); glDisableVertexAttribArray(1);

  • Ubuntu server random hangups.

    - by Ebbe
    Hello all. this is my first post to this forum which I found through the superb podcast "It Conversations" from StackOverFlow. I am quite in my role as server administrator for an exhibition center in London. Basically we have a central file and sql server to which roughly 40 stations connects to to upload/download data used/captured by a set of applications. Over the last weeks we have experienced a few random hangups to our applications, and as it always happen to multiple applications simultaneously I do not believe that the applications are the source of the problem. We also monitor the network using Dartware Intermapper which indicates that all switches and stations on the network has been reachable during the downtime. Thus, its all pointing to the server. I have been looking through all log files I can think of and the only thing so far that I have found suspicious is the following lines in the syslog which are from the time of one of the hangups: Feb 6 17:14:27 es named[5582]: client 127.0.0.1#33721: RFC 1918 response from Internet for 150.0.168.192.in-addr.arpa Feb 6 17:14:40 es named[5582]: client 127.0.0.1#32899: RFC 1918 response from Internet for 152.0.168.192.in-addr.arpa Feb 6 17:15:01 es /USR/SBIN/CRON[1956]: (es) CMD (/home/es/apps/es/bin/es_checksum.sh) Feb 6 17:16:06 es /USR/SBIN/CRON[2031]: (es) CMD (/home/es/apps/es/bin/es_checksum.sh) Feb 6 17:21:00 es named[5582]: *** POKED TIMER *** Feb 6 17:21:00 es last message repeated 2 times Feb 6 17:21:07 es named[5582]: client 127.0.0.1#44194: RFC 1918 response from Internet for 143.0.168.192.in-addr.arpa Feb 6 17:21:12 es named[5582]: client 127.0.0.1#59004: RFC 1918 response from Internet for 164.0.168.192.in-addr.arpa I find a few lines of interesting lines here: 1) "RFC 1918 response from Internet for 150.1.168.192.in-addr.arpa". I see this a lot in the syslog. And basically everytime I do a nslookup for any of the computers in the cluster I get a new similar line in the syslog. I understand from google that this has to do with reverse lookup problems. But I do not know how that could effect the systems. Lets say that one of these lines appear every time one of the userstations connects to the server, which may happen several times a second. Could this possible cause a hangup of the entire server? 2) POKED TIMER, I have googled this quite a lot, but not found an explaination that I can relate to. What does this mean? 3) The timestamps, it seems like the entire server has stopped responding for several minutes. Normally there are many printouts to the syslog per minute on this server. Furthermore the CRON job is set to run once every minute. Which according to the log, hasent happened here. OS: Ubuntu 8.04 Kernel: Linux 2.6.24-24-server x86_64 GNU/Linux. Hardware: Dell R710, RAID1, CPU: 2x XEON E5530. 16GB Memory. Average load is very low, and memory should not be a problem. Please let me know if you need any additional information. Best wishes, Ebbe

  • Como Exportar Crystal Reports a Excel, Word, Rich Text, PDF ó HTML

    - by jaullo
MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Tabla normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-priority:99; mso-style-qformat:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0cm 5.4pt 0cm 5.4pt; mso-para-margin-top:0cm; mso-para-margin-right:0cm; mso-para-margin-bottom:10.0pt; mso-para-margin-left:0cm; line-height:115%; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:11.0pt; font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"; mso-ascii-font-family:Calibri; mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-fareast-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-theme-font:minor-fareast; mso-hansi-font-family:Calibri; mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-bidi-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-theme-font:minor-bidi;} Imports CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine Imports CrystalDecisions.Shared  CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports. MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Tabla normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-priority:99; mso-style-qformat:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0cm 5.4pt 0cm 5.4pt; mso-para-margin-top:0cm; mso-para-margin-right:0cm; mso-para-margin-bottom:10.0pt; mso-para-margin-left:0cm; line-height:115%; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:11.0pt; font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"; mso-ascii-font-family:Calibri; mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-fareast-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-theme-font:minor-fareast; mso-hansi-font-family:Calibri; mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-bidi-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-theme-font:minor-bidi;} Response.Buffer = False Response. MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Tabla normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-priority:99; mso-style-qformat:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0cm 5.4pt 0cm 5.4pt; mso-para-margin-top:0cm; mso-para-margin-right:0cm; mso-para-margin-bottom:10.0pt; mso-para-margin-left:0cm; line-height:115%; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:11.0pt; font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"; mso-ascii-font-family:Calibri; mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-fareast-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-theme-font:minor-fareast; mso-hansi-font-family:Calibri; mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-bidi-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-theme-font:minor-bidi;}        'Cargar reporte. Enlazando a la fuente de datos.        LoadReport()          reporteDoc.ExportToHttpResponse(ExportFormatType.
