  • Drupal's not reading correct values from DB

    - by John
    Hey Everyone, Here is my current problem. I am working with the chat module and I'm building a module that notifies users via AJAX that they have been invited to a chat. The current table structure for the invites table looks like this: |-------------------------------------------------------------------------| | CCID | NID | INVITER_UID | INVITEE_UID | NOTIFIED | ACCEPTED | |-------------------------------------------------------------------------| | int | int | int | int | (0 or 1) | (0 or 1) | |-------------------------------------------------------------------------| I'm using the periodical updater plug-in for JQuery to continually poll the server to check for invites. When an invite is found, I set the notified from 0 to 1. However, my problem is the periodical updater. When I first see that there is an invite, I notify the user, and set notified to 1. On the next select though, I get the same results before, as if the update didn't work. But, when I got check the database, I can see that it worked just fine. It's as if the query is querying a cache, but I can't figure it out. My code for the periodical updater is as follows: window.onload = function() { var uid = $('a#chat_uid').html(); $.PeriodicalUpdater( '/steelylib/sites/all/modules/_chat_whos_online/ajax/ajax.php', //url to service { method: 'get', //send data via... data: {uid: uid}, //data to send minTimeout: '1000', //min time before server is polled (milli-sec.) maxTimeout: '20000', //max time before server is polled (milli-sec.) multiplyer: '1.5', //multiply against curretn poll time every time constant data is returned type: 'text', //type of data recieved (response type) maxCalls: 0, //max calls to make (0=unlimited) autoStop: 0 //max calls with constant data (0=unlimited/disabled) }, function(data) //callback function { alert( data ); //for now, until i get it working } ); } And my code for the ajax call is as follows: <?php #bootstrap Drupal, and call function, passing current user's uid. function _create_chat_node_check_invites($uid) { cache_clear_all('chatroom_chat_list', 'cache'); $query = "SELECT * FROM {chatroom_chat_invite} WHERE notified=0 AND invitee_uid=%d and accepted=0"; $query_results = db_query( $query, $uid ); $json = '{"invites":['; while( $row = db_fetch_object($query_results) ) { var_dump($row); global $base_url; $url = $base_url . '/content/privatechat' . $uid .'-' . $row->inviter_uid; $inviter = db_fetch_object( db_query( "SELECT name FROM {users} WHERE uid = %d", $row->inviter_uid ) ); $invitee = db_fetch_object( db_query( "SELECT name FROM {users} WHERE uid = %d", $row->invitee_uid ) ); #reset table $query = "UPDATE {chatroom_chat_invite} " ."SET notified=1 " ."WHERE inviter_uid=%d AND invitee_uid=%d"; db_query( $query, $row->inviter_uid, $row->invitee_uid ); $json .= '['; $json .= '"' . $url . '",'; $json .= '"' . ($inviter->name) . '",'; $json .= '"' . ($invitee->name) . '"' ; $json .= '],'; } $json = substr($json, 0, -1); $json .= ']}'; return $json; } ?> I can't figure out what is going wrong, any help is greatly appreciated!

  • Reading records from Excel PivotCache

    - by hcpremium
    I have an Excel workbook which contains a PivotCache I would like to use as a data source. var file = @"Foo.xls"; var excel = new Excel.Application(); var workbook = excel.Workbooks.Open(file); Excel.PivotCache cache = null; foreach (Excel.PivotCache pivotCache in workbook.PivotCaches()) { if (...) { cache = pivotCache; } } var records = cache.Recordset; The last command throws an exception (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800A03EC). How can I access the PivotCache? I tried it thru Ole DB first, but no success...

  • Android Reading from an Input stream efficiently

    - by RenegadeAndy
    Hey, I am making an HTTP get request to a website for an android application I am making. I am using a DefaultHttpClient and using HttpGet to issue the request. I get the entity response and from this obtain an InputStream object for getting the html of the page. I then cycle through the reply doing as follows: BufferedReader r = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(inputStream)); String x = ""; x = r.readLine(); String total = ""; while(x!= null){ total += x; x = r.readLine(); } However this is horrendously slow. Is this inefficient? I'm not loading a big web page - www.cokezone.co.uk so the file size is not big. Is there a better way to do this? Thanks Andy

  • Reading in a 5000 line text file on the Iphone

    - by howsyourface
    Gday, I am trying to create a tiled map for my game, i have had this previously working using other xml methods but i had memory leaks and all sorts of errors. However i had a map load time of about 2.5 - 3 seconds. So i rewrote all of the code using NSMutableStrings and NSStrings. After my best attempt at optomizing it i had a map load time of 10 - 11 seconds, which is far too slow. So i have now rewritten the code using char* arrays, only to now have a load time of 18 seconds -_-. Here is the latest code, i don't know much c so i could have easily botched the whole thing up. FILE* file = fopen(a, "r"); fseek(file, 0L, SEEK_END); length = ftell(file); fseek(file,0L, SEEK_SET); char fileText[length +1]; char buffer[1024];// = malloc(1024); while(fgets(buffer, 1024, file) != NULL) { strncat(fileText, buffer, strlen(buffer)); } fclose(file); [self parseMapFile:fileText]; - (void)parseMapFile:(char*)tiledXML { currentLayerID = 0; currentTileSetID = 0; tileX = 0; tileY = 0; int tmpGid; NSString* tmpName; int tmpTileWidth; int tmpTileHeight; char result[x + 1]; r = &result[0]; [self substringIndex:tiledXML index:x newArray:result]; tiledXML += x+2; index = 0; if (counter == 1) { continue; } else if (counter == 2) { char result1[5]; index = [self getStringBetweenStrings:r substring1:"th=\"" substring2:"\"" newArray:result1]; return index; } (I know it's a lot of code to be putting in here) I thought the by using basic char arrays i could drastically increase the performance, at least over the initial node based code that i was replacing. Thanks for all your efforts.

  • java: speed up reading foreign characters

    - by Yang
    My current code needs to read foreign characters from the web, currently my solution works but it is very slow, since it read char by char using InputStreamReader. Is there anyway to speed it up and also get the job done? // Pull content stream from response HttpEntity entity = response.getEntity(); InputStream inputStream = entity.getContent(); StringBuilder contents = new StringBuilder(); int ch; InputStreamReader isr = new InputStreamReader(inputStream, "gb2312"); // FileInputStream file = new InputStream(is); while( (ch = isr.read()) != -1) contents.append((char)ch); String encode = isr.getEncoding(); return contents.toString();

  • Reading files from an embedded ZIP archive

    - by aix
    I have a ZIP archive that's embedded inside a larger file. I know the archive's starting offset within the larger file and its length. Are there any Java libraries that would enable me to directly read the files contained within the archive? I am thinking along the lines of ZipFile.getInputStream(). Unfortunately, ZipFile doesn't work for this use case since its constructors require a standalone ZIP file. For performance reasons, I cannot copy the ZIP achive into a separate file before opening it. edit: Just to be clear, I do have random access to the file.

  • SQL Server problems reading columns with a foreign key

    - by illdev
    I have a weird situation, where simple queries seem to never finish for instance SELECT top 100 ArticleID FROM Article WHERE ProductGroupID=379114 returns immediately SELECT top 1000 ArticleID FROM Article WHERE ProductGroupID=379114 never returns SELECT ArticleID FROM Article WHERE ProductGroupID=379114 never returns SELECT top 1000 ArticleID FROM Article returns immediately By 'returning' I mean 'in query analyzer the green check mark appears and it says "Query executed successfully"'. I sometimes get the rows painted to the grid in qa, but still the query goes on waiting for my client to time out - 'sometimes': SELECT ProductGroupID AS Product23_1_, ArticleID AS ArticleID1_, ArticleID AS ArticleID18_0_, Inventory_Name AS Inventory3_18_0_, Inventory_UnitOfMeasure AS Inventory4_18_0_, BusinessKey AS Business5_18_0_, Name AS Name18_0_, ServesPeople AS ServesPe7_18_0_, InStock AS InStock18_0_, Description AS Descript9_18_0_, Description2 AS Descrip10_18_0_, TechnicalData AS Technic11_18_0_, IsDiscontinued AS IsDisco12_18_0_, Release AS Release18_0_, Classifications AS Classif14_18_0_, DistributorName AS Distrib15_18_0_, DistributorProductCode AS Distrib16_18_0_, Options AS Options18_0_, IsPromoted AS IsPromoted18_0_, IsBulkyFreight AS IsBulky19_18_0_, IsBackOrderOnly AS IsBackO20_18_0_, Price AS Price18_0_, Weight AS Weight18_0_, ProductGroupID AS Product23_18_0_, ConversationID AS Convers24_18_0_, DistributorID AS Distrib25_18_0_, type AS Type18_0_ FROM Article AS articles0_ WHERE (IsDiscontinued = '0') AND (ProductGroupID = 379121) shows this behavior. I have no idea what is going on. Probably select is broken ;) I got a foreign key on ProductGroups ALTER TABLE [dbo].[Article] WITH CHECK ADD CONSTRAINT [FK_ProductGroup_Articles] FOREIGN KEY([ProductGroupID]) REFERENCES [dbo].[ProductGroup] ([ProductGroupID]) GO ALTER TABLE [dbo].[Article] CHECK CONSTRAINT [FK_ProductGroup_Articles] there are some 6000 rows and IsDiscontinued is a bit, not null, but leaving this condition out does not change the outcome. Anyone can tell me how to handle such a situation? More info, anyone? Additional Info: this does not seem to be restricted to this Foreign Key, but all/some referencing this entity.

    - by calccrypto
    can someone show a description of the information of what a pgp looks like if only the descriptions were there but not the actual information? something like (i dont remember if the values are correct): packet-type[4 bits], total length in bytes[16 bits], packet version type [4 bits], creation-time[32 bits], encryption-algorithm[8 bits], ...,etc,etc ive tried to understand rfc4880, but its tedious and confusing. so far, i am think i have extracted the 4 i wrote above, but i cant seem to get the rest of the information out. can anyone help? i know i can just find some pgp program, but the whole point of this is to allow me to learn how those programs work in the first place

  • Browser Not Reading Entire XML File

    - by Chris
    I have an XML file that is written by a PHP script. The data for the XML file is gathered from several different RSS feeds. The PHP script is invoked every 5 minutes by a Cron Job. The PHP Script takes maybe 5-10 seconds to write the XML File. Here's the problem: After the XML file is written, I can open it through DreamWeaver and read everything just fine - but when I enter the XML File's URL into my Web Browser (IE or Firefox), I get a "XML Parsing Error: not well-formed" Error in the Browser. When I do View Source in the Browser, the XML file appears incomplete - but when I open the file directly off the server, it is complete. Anyone know what's going on here?

  • Strange results from OdbcDataReader reading Sqlite DB

    - by stout
    This method returns some strange results, and was wondering if someone could explain why this is happening, and possibly a solution to get my desired results. Results: FileName = what I'd expect FileSize = what I'd expect Buffer = all bytes = 0 BytesRead = 0 BlobString = string of binary data FieldType = BLOB (what I'd expect) ColumnType = System.String Furthermore, if the file is greater than a few KB, the reader throws an exception stating the StringBuilder capacity argument must be greater than zero (presummably because the size is greater than Int32.MaxValue). I guess my question is how does one properly read large BLOBs from an OdbcDataReader? public static String SaveBinaryFile(String Key) { try { Connect(); OdbcCommand Command = new OdbcCommand("SELECT [_filename_],[_filesize_],[_content_] FROM [_sys_content] WHERE [_key_] = '" + Key + "';", Connection); OdbcDataReader Reader = Command.ExecuteReader(CommandBehavior.SequentialAccess); if (Reader.HasRows == false) return null; String FileName = Reader.GetString(0); int FileSize = int.Parse(Reader.GetString(1)); byte[] Buffer = new byte[FileSize]; long BytesRead = Reader.GetBytes(2, 0, Buffer, 0, FileSize); String BlobString = (String)Reader["_content_"]; String FieldType = Reader.GetDataTypeName(2); Type ColumnType = Reader.GetFieldType(2); return null; } catch (Exception ex) { Tools.ErrorHandler.Catch(ex); return null; } }

  • Mysql and PHP - Reading multiple insert queries from a file and executing at runtime

    - by SpikETidE
    Hi everyone... I am trying out a back-up and restore system. Basically, what i try to do is, when creating the back up i make a file which looks like DELETE FROM bank_account; INSERT INTO bank_account VALUES('1', 'IB6872', 'Indian Bank', 'Indian Bank', '2', '1', '0', '0000-00-00 00:00:00', '1', '2010-04-13 17:09:05');INSERT INTO bank_account VALUES('2', 'IB7391', 'Indian Bank', 'Indian Bank', '3', '1', '0', '0000-00-00 00:00:00', '1', '2010-04-13 17:09:32'); and so on and so forth. When i restore the db i just read the query from the file, save it to a string and then execute it over the DB using mysql_query(); The problem is, when i run the query through mysql_query(), the execution stops after the delete query with the error 'Error in syntax near '; INSERT INTO bank_account VALUES('1', 'IB6872', 'Indian Bank', 'Indian Bank', '2',' at line 1. But when i run the queries directly over the Db, using phpmyadmin it executes without any errors. As far as i can see, i can't notice any syntax error in the query. Can anyone point out where there might be a glitch...? Thanks and regards....

I read that bmp file header is of 54 byte. But how and where should i append txt file in bmp file. ? I know only Turbo C++, so it would be helpfull for me if u provide solution or suggestion related to topic for the same. int main() { ifstream fr; //reads ofstream fw; // wrrites to file char c; int random; clrscr(); char file[2][100]={"s.bmp","s.txt"}; fr.open(file[0],ios::binary);//file name, mode of open, here input mode i.e. read only if(!fr) cout<<"File can not be opened."; fw.open(file[1],ios::app);//file will be appended if(!fw) cout<<"File can not be opened"; while(!fr) cout<<fr.get(); // error should be here. but not able to find out what error is it fr.close(); fw.close(); getch(); } This code is running fine when i pass txt file in binary mode

  • Reading ResultSet from multiple threads

    - by superdario
    Hello, In the database, I have a definition table that is read from the application once upon starting. This definition table rarely changes, so it makes sense to read it once and restart the application every time it changes. However, after the table is read (put into a ResultSet), it will be read by multiple handlers running in their own threads. How do you suggest to accomplish this? My idea was to populate a CachedRowSet, and then create a copy of this set (through the createCopy() method) for each handler every time a new request comes. Do you think this is wise? Does this offer a good performance? Thanks.

  • Reading serialised object from file

    - by nico
    Hi everyone. I'm writing a little Java program (it's an ImageJ plugin, but the problem is not specifically ImageJ related) and I have some problem, most probably due to the fact that I never really programmed in Java before... So, I have a Vector of Vectors and I'm trying to save it to a file and read it. The variable is defined as: Vector <Vector <myROI> > ROIs = new Vector <Vector <myROI> >(); where myROI is a class that I previously defined. Now, to write the vector to a file I use: void saveROIs() { SaveDialog save = new SaveDialog("Save ROIs...", imp.getTitle(), ".xroi"); String name = save.getFileName(); if (name == null) return; String dir = save.getDirectory(); try { FileOutputStream fos = new FileOutputStream(dir+name); ObjectOutputStream oos = new ObjectOutputStream(fos); oos.writeObject(ROIs); oos.close(); } catch (Exception e) { IJ.log(e.toString()); } } This correctly generates a binary file containing (I suppose) the object ROIs. Now, I use a very similar code to read the file: void loadROIs() { OpenDialog open = new OpenDialog("Load ROIs...", imp.getTitle(), ".xroi"); String name = open.getFileName(); if (name == null) return; String dir = open.getDirectory(); try { FileInputStream fin = new FileInputStream(dir+name); ObjectInputStream ois = new ObjectInputStream(fin); ROIs = (Vector <Vector <myROI> >) ois.readObject(); // This gives error ois.close(); } catch (Exception e) { IJ.log(e.toString()); } } But this function does not work. First, I get a warning: warning: [unchecked] unchecked cast found : java.lang.Object required: java.util.Vector<java.util.Vector<myROI>> ROIs = (Vector <Vector <myROI> >) ois.readObject(); ^ I Googled for that and see that I can suppress by prepending @SuppressWarnings("unchecked"), but this just makes things worst, as I get an error: <identifier> expected ROIs = (Vector <Vector <myROI> >) ois.readObject(); ^ In any case, if I omit @SuppressWarnings and ignore the warning, the object is not read and an exception is thrown java.io.WriteAbortedException: writing aborted; java.io.NotSerializableException: myROI Again Google tells me myROI needs to implements Serializable. I tried just adding implements Serializable to the class definition, but it is not sufficient. Can anyone give me some hints on how to procede in this case? Also, how to get rid of the typecast warning?

  • Reading int from a hidden field in .aspx

    - by vikp
    Hi, I'm struggling to read an int from the hidden field on aspx page. <input type = "hidden" id = "myIntegerId" name = "integerId" value= "<%: Model.MyObjectId %>" runat = "server" /> The value is definately on the form, I can see it in the debugger and print it with <%: % When I read the form values in the controller, instead of an int I recieve a following string: <%: Model.MyObjectId % I have tried casting data in the hidden field to string and calling ToString() method on that field, neither has worked. The data is submitted using the post event. I have a feeling that I'm missing something very basic... Any help is greately appreciated. Thanks

  • issue while synchronising PHP (reading file) and Ajax (jquery ui slider)

    Hello, I got an issue while trying to display a jquery UI slider with its range based on a values read with PHP from a text file. Its seems that it's a syncrhonising issue as I get the error: "An attempt was made to use an object that is not, or is no longer, usable" code: 11" Is there a way I can force the jquery UI slider to wait for the value to be present or to work in synchrone mode ? Thanks in advance.

  • Reading into directory, unix shell script

    - by dubya
    I am trying to analyze the files/directories inside of a directory using a shell script, for example if the file is readable, if it is a file, if it is a directory, etc. My script is set up to take a directory as input. so I would type 'file.sh directoryname'. However, when I create a for loop to analyze the files, it analyzes the files in my current working directory rather than the specified directory name. This is my broken code: file=$1 set mypath = $file for file in $mypath * do if [ -d $file ] dirCount=`expr $dirCount + 1` fi done Why does this read the working directory instead of the specified directory? Any help is appreciated. Thanks
