• Using xsl:character-map on text nodes only

  I am trying to create a generic stylesheet that can convert all Latin characters in Unicode to uppercase ASCII characters. Using <xsl:character-map> works well except for one thing: namespaces. The character map converts all of my namespaces to upper case, which I do not want. Is there a way to utilize a character map to do what I want to all the other nodes while leaving the namespaces untouched? I see the disable-output-escaping attribute might be an option, but I haven't been able to make it work.

  I've been using matrix = *((fxMatrix*)&d3dMatrix); for quite a while. It worked fine until my screen turned black and received a bucket of frustration on my desk. fxMatrix contains 4 fxVectors. fxVector used to be 16 bytes, but now it was suddenly 20. This was because it inherited fxStreamable, which added the vTable. So one solution is of course just to not inherit fxStreamable, and leave a comment saying that it must always be 16 bytes and never more. Another solution would be to make conversion functions, and copy the matrix completely. This makes it more secure, but has an impact on the performance. I suppose this is the best idea. Another solution is to not convert at all, and stick to D3DXMATRIX, but this makes the engine inconsistent and I personally really dislike this idea. What is your opinion?

  I have a texteare where someone can input text. I do not want a wysiwyg editor. But what would be great: Strip all tags, but make correct <p> and <br /> if user input has new lines. Additionally convert all urls, with or without http// or parameter to clickable links. I cannot find a solution. So you could type into the textarea: ........ • converting tabular structures in a Word document into an actual table or reading data from the tabul

  I have a macro which can read the last cell/column of all tables in a Word 2003/2007 document and store the data in an MS-Access table. But, some Word documents have the data in structures like a table format but are not actually tables. The structure looks like a table, but the table borders are actually line connectors. These documents were created by a software(VeryPDF PDF to Word converter) which converted the PDF documents(the original format these documents were) into Word documents. Is there a way I can convert/replace the tabular structures with actual tables in Word so that I can use the macro? Or, is there a way I can read the value of the last column from the tabular structures using some VBA code? Any advice would be appreciated.

• Fetch a Rails ActiveRecord 'datetime' attribute as a DateTime object.

  I have an attribute in one of my models that contains a Date/Time value, and is declared using t.datetime :ended_on in my migrations. When I fetch this value using myevent.ended_on, I get a Time object. The problem is that when I try to use this attribute as an axis in a Flotilla chart, it doesn't work properly because Flotilla only recognizes dates as Date or DateTime objects. I thought about writing a virtual attribute that will convert the existing Time value to a DateTime, but I'm wary of doing this, since I've heard that Time can't handle dates later than 2040, and I don't wish to risk creating a "2040 bug" to worry about later. Is there any way I can persuade ActiveRecord to return DateTime objects for this attribute instead of Time objects?

• Access to bytes array of a Bitmap

  1- In Windows CE, I have a Bitmap object in C#. 2- I have a C function in an extern dll that expects as parameters the pointer to a bytes array that represents an image in RGB565 format, width and height. This function will draw on this array of bytes. So I need to pass the byte array pointer of the Bitmap object, but I can find a practical way to get this pointer. One way is convert this Bitmap into a bytes array using a memory stream or something else, but it will create a new bytes array, so I will keep in memory both object, the Bitmap and the bytes array, but I don’t want it because the few available memory, that’s why I need to access to the bytes array of the bitmap object, not create a new bytes array. Anyone can help me?

This table holds one-to-many relationships where each ClientID can be enrolled in many programs. So for each program a client is enrolled in, there is a record in the table. The final result set is therefore returning a row for each row in the ProgramEnrollments table based on these joins. I presume my join is the issue but I don't see the problem. Thoughts/Suggestions? • Some way of getting just the data part from a web service returning a DataTable?

  I'm using an external web service that returns a DataTable. There's a couple of problems with this. The first is that there are over 20,000 columns, and .Net crashes when trying to convert the xml to a DataTable. I have to use Mono to make this work. The other problem is that it takes a lot of time to fetch all the column information. The columns "never" changes (and when they do, I know about it in advance). I would like to just fetch the data part, and load the schema from a local file. I very much doubt this is possible, but I thought I could ask here just in case.

• Using PHP's $_COOKIE to create cookie.txt for cURL

  Hi, I'm running Drupal and Mediawiki on my server under the same domain. They are connected to each other with extensions/modules. Meaning if I log in to Mediawiki, it automatically logs into Drupal also. Mediawiki has some extensions that filter the information shown on the page. What I want to do is to show that filtered information from Mediawiki on my Drupal page. I'm trying to fetch the data with PHP cURL, but I'm not able to force it to use the login information. How can I convert PHP's $_COOKIE into cURL cookie.txt format? I suppose after that I'm able to fetch the data from Mediawiki with the right permissions. • How to save a complete webpage using the built-in webbrowser in c#

  Overall I am trying to write out a webpage to PDF. There is a web service that I can use to convert a file to pdf. So what I am trying to do is save out a webpage from the WebBrowser winforms control. I have already tried writing it out the document stream but that just gives me the html of the page and not the images that are used with it. Another way that I looked into, but have not been successful with, is trying to create an image of the WebBrowser document. I found some examples on the web that utilize the DrawToBitmap function but none of them have worked for me. Any assistance would be grateful.

• How do I post to a webservice and display the returned Response in MVC3 Razor Application?

  I have need to call a webservice from an HTML helper extension I created (combinbation of Action and Image) and placed in the view as follows @Html.ActionImage("CallService", new { number = ViewBag.number, code = ViewBag.code, account = ViewBag.account, amount = ViewBag.amount }, "~/Content/sb_200x61.png", "Start the Process") I am making the action call and it calls the service and returns a string of the html response, but it doesn't look right. I am using the typical HttpWebRequest to do the POST Action in C# code. Here is the controller action code: public MvcHtmlString CallService(string number, string code, string account, decimal? amount) { string response = MyService.ServiceLayer.ClassName.callService(number, code, account, Convert.ToDecimal(amount); MvcHtmlString mstring = new MvcHtmlString(response); return mstring; } When it returns the string back it's looking like the all styling and js is removed. It that due to MvcHtmlString? Is there a better way to do this? Redirect somehow ?

  Hi, I have a Dictionary object that is formed using a double as its key values. It looks like this: Dictionary<double, ClassName> VariableName = new Dictionary<double, ClassName>(); For my project I have to have the key as the double as I require values like 1.1,1.2,2.1,2.2,etc in my system. Everything in my system works great except when I want to delete all the keys in a group eg all the 1 values would be 1.1,1.2, etc. I can delete rows if I know the full value of the key eg 1.1 but in my system I will only know the whole number. I tried to do the following but get an error: DictionaryVariable.Remove(j => Convert.ToInt16(j.Key) == rowToEdit).OrderByDescending(j => j.Key); Is there anyway to remove all rows per int value by converting the key? • C++ : Swapping template class elements of different types?

  template< class T1, class T2 > class Pair { T1 first; T2 second; }; I'm being asked to write a swap() method so that the first element becomes the second and the second the first. I have: Pair<T2,T1> swap() { return Pair<T2,T1>(second, first); } But this returns a new object rather than swapping, where I think it needs to be a void method that changes its own data members. Is this possible to do since T1 and T2 are potentially different class types? In other words I can't simply set temp=first, first=second, second=temp because it would try to convert them to different types. I'm not sure why you would potentially want to have a template object that changes order of its types as it seems that would cause confusion but that appears to be what I'm being asked to do.

• Rscript does not recognize setGeneric function

  I am trying to convert an R script into something that a client can run in batch mode. My code uses generic functions and one snippet which is near the beginning goes like: setGeneric("testInput", function(inputData, params = list()) standardGeneric("testInput")) I've been using R CMD BATCH and it works fine. However I couldn't find an easy way to make my script print the output on the console, so based on that (and suggestion that Rscript.exe is the "proper" way to run R batch files) I decided to switch to Rscript. However when running the very same .R file with Rscript I get the following: Error: could not find function "setGeneric" Execution halted I know there is probably a trivial reason behind this but I just cannot figure it out.   is there a good way to do a Linq GroupBy where the grouping key is determined at runtime? e.g. I want the grouping key to be built from a user-selected list of fields - can you do this? I know I can do it easily if I convert everything to a table of strings, but I was wondering if there was an elegant or clever way to accomplish this otherwise. class Item { public int A, B; public DateTime D; public double X, Y, Z; } I have a List<Item> called data. I want to do things like retrieve the sum of X grouped by A, or the sums of X, Y, and Z, grouped by A and B. but what fields go into the grouping should be able to be specified at runtime in some way.

  Goal: building a web application where a user can: Upload a document (doc, docx, pdf, additional office formats a +) View that document in a browser, preferably in html Download the document (in doc, pdf, additional open formats a +) Current solution: Ruby on Rails Application on Rackspace Users can upload doc and pdf files (AWS) Files can be downloaded in the format in which they were uploaded Thumbnail generation ([doc, pdf] - pdf - png) is done through AbiWord. Certain doc files do not convert well. Documents can be viewed in embedded Google docs viewer (https://docs.google.com/viewer). Certain doc files cannot be displayed. Little flexibility. Potential improvements: Document viewing in pdf through pdf.js Viewing in html (+ annotation) through Crocodoc I'd be glad to hear other users' experiences, and will add good recommendations to this list.
