• Embedding swf with players

  I want too display PPTs as inline on webpage via swf. So I convert them to swf using OpenOffice scripting. I can embed them into webpage via swfobject, however this has two major problems, Swfobject require me to tell the size of uploaded swfs, which I dont know in advance, as size/aspect ratio of swf depends on uploaded presentation. This doesnot put next/previous controls. Is there a tool/library using which I can emebed swf player in page without these problems.

At the moment the manual process involves using Team Foundation Sidekicks to identify the Changesets and then exporting that to excel to filter the results to find which items need to be reviewed (e.g. code files). • Running out of memory while analyzing a Java Heap Dump

  Hi, I have a curious problem, I need to analyze a Java heap dump (from an IBM JRE) which has 1.5GB in size, the problem is that while analyzing the dump (I've tried HeapAnalyzer and the IBM Memory Analyzer 0.5) the tools runs out of memory I can't really analyze the dump. I have 3GB of RAM in my machine, but seems like it's not enough to analyze the 1.5 GB dump, My question is, do you know a specific tool for heap dump analysis (supporting IBM JRE dumps) that I could run with the amount of memory I have? • pure as3 benefits to compiling with flex4 instead of flex3?

  If I have a pure as3 project that I have been compiling with flex3 from mxmlc, is there any reason to switch to using the mxmlc with flex4? I can use all of the flash 10 language features like Vector, 3D, etc., so that is not a reason to switch (or is there something I can't do?). But maybe there is a performance boost? Or is the exact same compiling tool and the flex code base is the only difference?

• Efficient way to create/unpack large bitfields in C?

  I have one microcontroller sampling from a lot of ADC's, and sending the measurements over a radio at a very low bitrate, and bandwidth is becoming an issue. Right now, each ADC only give us 10 bits of data, and its being stored in a 16-bit integer. Is there an easy way to pack them in a deterministic way so that the first measurement is at bit 0, second at bit 10, third at bit 20, etc? To make matters worse, the microcontroller is little endian, and I have no control over the endianness of the computer on the other side.

• Haskell optimization of a function looking for a bytestring terminator

  Profiling of some code showed that about 65% of the time I was inside the following code. What it does is use the Data.Binary.Get monad to walk through a bytestring looking for the terminator. If it detects 0xff, it checks if the next byte is 0x00. If it is, it drops the 0x00 and continues. If it is not 0x00, then it drops both bytes and the resulting list of bytes is converted to a bytestring and returned. Any obvious ways to optimize this?
