Is it possible to restore a MySQL database from the physical database files. I have a directory that has the following file types:
client.frm
client.MYD
client.MYI
but for about 20 more tables.
I usually use mysqldump or a similar tool to get everything in 1 SQL file so what is the way to deal with these types of files?
I'm looking for a log viewer with similar capablilties as Chainsaw, in which I can tail Glassfish log files over for instance SSH/SCP. Does anyone know if such a tool exist?

I have a legacy C++ application with a deep graph of #includes. Changes to any header file often cause recompiles of seemingly unrelated source files.
The application is built using a Visual Studio 2005 solution (sln) file.
Can MSBUILD be invoked in a way that it reports which dependency(ies) are causing a source file to be recompiled?
Is there any other tool that might be able to help?
Microsoft's FxCop tool uses the introspection API. This introspection API could be used to develop new code analysis tools. But the introspection api is not documented well. Additionally, I was not able to figure out any blogs which explains this API in breadth and depth of it. The knowledge gained by understanding the API can also be used for writing custom FxCop rules.
Does anybody knows about any blog or resources which explains the same?
I need to build a solution which will allow registered users of a Wordpress site upload videos to the server and have them moderated before being published on the site.
Failing that, I would like to let users upload their file, then the Admins would check the video is appropriate, upload it to youtube, and manually embed it into a post.
This has to look transparent - so I don't want to make the users into contributers.
Does anyone know of any plugins or home-made solutions that are available for this?
edit: the closest I have found is this http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/all-in-one-video-pack/ but the unknown 3rd party hosting is a deal breaker.
We have a setup project that produces an uncompressed MSI file and no Setup.exe at all, to be later compressed by NSIS.
In a special build setting, I want to copy that MSI before it's being wrapped by NSIS, change the copy, and keep it. I would also like to compress it, after it has been created by the msbuild.
Is there a simple way (command line tool of some kind, maybe?) I can use to just compress an already created msi file?
Hi,
does extJS have any kind of visual filtering tool for its grids.
there are three sample criterias in the next line which are added by the user, and an x button to remove the criteria.
Sample Filter:
[Business Unit=Accounting-x] [Name like 'Jo*'-x] [Age between 25-33-x]
Personnel Grid (displaying the filtered data)
1 33 Josh Accounting
2 35 John Accounting

Is there any tool or framework able to make it easier to "unit test" distributed software written in Java? My system under test is a peer-to-peer software, and I'd like to perform testing using something like PNUnit, but with Java instead of .Net.
Hi,
While working with DB, I find useful using some tools, that help me to solve DB problems.
Some of them are:
1) Insert generator
2) A tool that can execute a script on a list of DB's
3) Finding a text in stored procedures and functions.
4) DB Back up scripts
My question is, what are most useful tools, scripts(anything else), that help you to work with MS SQL?
Thanks in advance.
I'm trying to create a page that allows a user to change the "look and feel" of the site. I would like to use something similar to jQuery's ThemeRoller or FireFox's Developer Tool.
I can't force the user to use Firefox and I don't need all the options that the ThemeRoller has. I'm really only looking for header, background, font size and font type.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Is it possible to use separete ssdl, csdl and msl files for each Entity in EntityFramework?
That is, I want to modularize the mapping information.
Note: EdmGen.exe tool stores the ssdl, csdl and msl information in respective files for all entities.
Note: If anyone used NHibernate, he should be aware of the fact that, NHibernate uses separate mapping files for each entity. I want to do the same thing.
I'm using some custom tasks from MSBuild Extension Pack (MEP). My projects are splitted among many files. In those files I import the MEP tasks using (twice or three times in two/three files). I receive the warning message when doing this like:
... warning MSB4011: "C:\Program
Files\MSBuild\ExtensionPack\MSBuild.ExtensionPack.tasks"
cannot be imported again. It was
already imported at
"D:...\Tasker.proj (5,3)". This is
most likely a build authoring error.
This subsequent import will be
ignored.
Does anyone know how to get rid of this warning message? Please help!
Hi,
I need a random object generator in JavaScript that generates a variety of objects with different fields and values. Any ideas where I can find such tool?

Hi,
Can Entity Framework create incremental SQL scripts for updates? (or would you need to do this in a separate database tool)
(i.e. for my application updates I need to package the DB upgrade script that gets applied after download - windows forms type app)
Hi All,
Is there any tool to know how many native memory has been used from my java application ?
I've experienced outofmemory from my application :
Current setting is :
-Xmx900m
Computer, Windows 2003 Server 32bit, RAM 4GB.
Also is changing boot.ini to /3GB on windows, will make any difference?
If is set Xmx900m, how much max native memory can be allocated for this process ? is it 1100m ?
is it even possible to modify .apk, by adding additional class to .dex and re-packing with modified manifest.xml??
I know there are tools such as baksmali / smali to disassemble / re-assemble given classes.dex from .apk, but not sure limitation what could be modified from there on?
I'm trying to add additional activity, to modify starting launcher activity (may be from androidmanifest.xml) from original apk, then re-pack and sign to make complete single .apk... all need to be done out of build time, no raw source or build structure visible, only .apk as input... ANY IDEA?
Given a string in the format: XXX999999v99 (where X is any alpha character and v is any numeric character and v is a literal v character) how can I get a regex to match the numeric chatacters following the v? So far I've got 'v\d\d' which includes the v but ideally I'd like just the numeric part.
As an aside does anyone know of a tool in which you can specify a string to match and have the regex generated? Modifying an existing regex is one thing but I find starting from scratch painful!
The Scene: A (smallish) Form hosting a UserControl.
The Plot: Whenever UserControl raises a hover event, display some (graphical) information in a tool tip fashion. When the user moves the mouse, fade them away again.
Notes: I'd like to display more than one "tooltip", with each tooltip being a UserControl displaying information in a graphical manner. Not just text in a yellow box! Also, I'm using the Windows.Forms library.
I just ran across this point that references a security vulnerability in Web Apps that depends on looking at the size of encrypted web pages to deduce what the uses is doing. The simplest solution to this I can think of would be to use a tool to minify all static content so that (after encryption) only a small number of result sizes exist so as to minimize the information available to an eavesdropper.
Are there any tools for doing this?
