  • User cannot book a room resource

    Im having a problem with a specific user not being able to book a room resource. No error message is generated at all. The user attempts to add the room as a meeting resource and it simply doesnt register with the resources calendar. I have tested the resource with other accounts and other rooms for this user but it is only this room that is having issues for this user. This Exchange server was migrated from 2007 to 2010. All rooms except for the problem room were created back on Exchange 2007. This new room was created with Exchange 2010. Maybe this clue has something to do with the problem?   • ShowWindow not working from a DLL on a 64-bit OS?

    I have a process that calls SetWindowsHook to catch keyboard events. In the DLL that processes the events, I conditionally call ShowWindow on the handle of the window of the process who set the hook. That code works perfectly on a 32-bit OS (XP) and as a 32-bit application on a 64-bit OS, but when compiled to 64-bit, the window is not showing. Other platforms (WinXP, Server 2003 R2, Windows 7 32-bit and 64-bit) do not present this exception. The event log from a single execution has many of the following event with event ID 1023 raised by the .NET Runtime: .NET Runtime version 2.0.50727.4952 - Fatal Execution Engine Error (7383851A) (80131506) The application itself makes use of a SOAP interface generated by visual studio from a wsdl, a COM object with an embedded interop, and is targeting .Net 4. sfc /scannow was run and found no problems with system files on the affected system. I know I can do that easily by following code snippet. <%$ Resources:[filename prefix,]resource-key %> or <asp:Label ID="Label1" runat="server" meta:resourcekey="resource-key-prefix" /> But I would also like to parameterized it. e.g. Above Resource Expression will give me message like "Fill Information.". What I have in resource file is "Fill {0} Information." which should show end user message like "Fill Address Information.".

  • How to make dll referenced by ActiveX component accessible?

    I have an ActiveX component developed in C#. I'm referencing a dll which comes with other native dlls and it is loading them on the fly expecting them to be in the same folder (probably using Assembly.GetExecutingAssembly().Location but not sure, I don't have control over them). There is also one ini file which is also expected to be in the same folder. When I run the application as Windows form app, everything is fine, of course. But the trouble comes when I run it within Internet Explorer as the base directory is at the location of iexplore.exe. Obviously neither the dlls or the ini file can be found and many temporary working files outputted by the dlls are located in Internet Explorer folder. The workaround is to copy all ddls and ini file into the ie folder but that is not something I'd be happy about. What is the proper solution to this? Can I somehow set the base path for the ActiveX component?

    I would like to enable the openssl extension in php.ini. I uncommented the extension=php_openssl.dll restarted apache service, but it still doesn't works. In the apache error log I've found PHP Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library 'C:/Program Files (x86)/mypath/php/ext\\php_openssl.dll' - The operating system cannot run %1.\r\n in Unknown on line 0 I tried to follow some tutorials which said that I have to copy ssleay32.dll and libeay32.dll to the windows/system32 directory, but it still doesn't works. Does anyone know how to install it properly?

I wonder how interesting is that in our daily life all of us have to often need the same kind of information at the same time. Here is the example of the similar questions: How many user created tables are there in the database?   • Default Parameters vs Method Overloading

    With default parameters introduced in C# 4.0 one might be tempted to abandon the old approach of providing method overloads to simulate default parameters. However, you must take in consideration that both techniques are not interchangeable since they show different behaviors in certain scenarios. For me the most relevant difference is that default parameters are a compile time feature while method overloading is a runtime feature. To illustrate these concepts let’s take a look at a complete, although a bit long, example.   • Game Resource Generation

    I am currently building a game that has a "City" entity. These cities generate and consume resources such as food variably over a period of time. I need to be able query the server often to find exactly how much food the city at any given point. These queries can take place multiple times per minute. There could also be 400,000 cities to track at a given time. How would you handle tracking these resources? Would you do it in real time, keeping an instance of the city in memory on the server, with some sort of a snapshot in time of the resources, then computing the growth/consumption from that snapshot time for subsequent queries? Would you work exclusively with a database, using a similar "snapshoting" scheme? Maybe a mixture of the 2, caching recently queried cities in memory for a period of time? There is also a lot of other data that each city needs to track. A player can queue units to build in a barrack. The armies available in the city will need to be updated as units complete. I'm interested in everyone's input on where/when/how you'd manage the real time data.

  • Limited resource practice problems?

    I'm applying for some big companies and the areas I seem to be getting burned on is problems involving limited memory, disk-space or throughput. These large companies process GBs of data every second (or more), and they need efficient ways of managing all that data. I have no experience with this as none of the projects I have worked on have grown that large. Is there a good place to learn about or practice these sorts of problems? Most of the practice-problem sites I've encountered only have problems where you have to solve something efficiently (usually involving prime numbers) but none of them limit your resources.

  • Accessing a Web Service: Learning Resource needed

    I have been searching for resources to learn (Java) Web Services. Although I have found a lot of resources and tutorials on JWS, I am confused with the version numbers, the abbreviations and Metro. Plus the last update to Metro was in 2008. Is it a worthwile thing to learn? I wanted to learn how to access Web Services, since an upcoming project is about accessing one. I have some experience with OAuth on Twitter(using code available). Things I know about the project: I have to access a Web Service. Java is the preferred platform to use(Although I know I can use any). Axis can be used to access the Web Service(I have never used Axis) I have a meeting scheduled to learn more, but I sure don't want to look silly since I am no Java expert, have never created or accessed Web Services using Java. My Questions: 1.Can someone point me to a tutorial which will help me learn how to access a already running Web Service (Preferably SOAP(?), not REST. It's XML based) 2. Will you recommend using PHP or Python to do the work of accessing the web service? I am expecting a lot of nay saying, but I hope I get some answers too. I will clarify things if needed.

    If you're trying to run the OIM design console (xlclient.sh) under OEL 6u2 and keep getting this error after entering the credentials: ... Caused by: java.util.MissingResourceException: Can't find oracle.iam.platform.utils.resources.LRB bundle... Make sure your wlfullclient.jar is in the ext folder of the designconsole folder... and yes, the design console runs perfectly well in OEL 6u2.

    I am looking for some resources on the JVM bytecode. Ideally I would for a short book; something more than a blog post but not a 800 pages tome. If it is relevant, I am a Scala developer, not a Java one, although I know Java just fine. I would like something that allowed me to read JVM bytecode and answer questions such as: Why does the bytecode has to know about high level construct such as classes? Are subtyping relations still visible in bytecode? How does type erasure work exactly? How do Oracle and Dalvik bytecode differ, and what consequences does this have for, say, developing Android apps with Scala? How does the JVM manage the stack, and why exactly this creates issues with tail call elimination? and so on.

    For example your game expects a certain asset to be loaded what is the best way to handle it if the resource isn't found, for example: Texture* grassTexture = LoadTexture("Grass.png");// returns NULL as texture is not found. Mesh* car = LoadMesh("Car.obj");// returns NULL as 3d mesh is not found What if for some reason the resource wasn't found e.g. deleted by user, misspelling while in development ? Should I use Assertions (which is only useful while in development? Exit the game gracefully ? or even thrown an exception and try to handle it? On a separate question, if I used a handle system instead of pointers (which I am already working on) I don't see how this would help me recover from unfound resources, Does a handle system help in situations like this?

    One of my site is hosted on windows azure and when azure restart site from manage windows azure panel. then it take old version dll and site is down until we restart the site by deploying global.asax or change in web.config to restart the site. after deployment of global.asax or change in web.config site is restart and then it work perfectly and take latest dll. so if any issues with my code then it should not work after the restart by deploying global.asax file so i think issues is not from code side. Error like "Could not load type 'DSF.DATA.Repository.RecurringOrderLogResposity' from 'DSF.DATA Version 1.0.0" I am just deploying changed dll using FTP & site restart and take effect successfully I have already resolve this error and uploaded latest dll too but when site restart from azure panel it back and then site down until i restart the site by deploying global.asax file so i think issues is not from code side. please please help I am in big trouble as my site is live site and there are lot of traffic Thanks Vipul

    Before using LWJGL, I used the Graphic method, and there I displayed imageicons, and I had the picture file located in the resources. I used: ImageIcon tcard = new ImageIcon(this.getClass().getResource("RCA.png")); to load the image. Now when I load textures in LWJGL, I have to use absolute paths to locate the file: tcard = TextureLoader.getTexture("PNG", ResourceLoader.getResourceAsStream("C:/RCA.png")); I tried Googling, but I didn't find anything helpful. How can I load the image from the local resources like in the first example?
