    I have a problem with Hibernate Native Query. I have one SELECT that selects array slice (PostgreSQL database). The problem is that hibernate recognizes the following part: ":300" from "SELECT my_array[1:300]..." as named parameter and I get the following exception: Not all named parameters have been set. I tried to escape the colon (:) with '\:' , '::' but with no success. The Hibernate version is 3.2

  • Login screen delay in CentOS 5.4 x64

    I was happily running my CentOS 5.4 before something bad happened that somehow corrupted the 'nautilus' package. It stopped me from using the default Gnome Desktop. Then I installed (using yum) the KDE and nautilus later on. Now, KDE is running perfectly with one exception that it takes around 10 minutes before showing up the Login Screen and only a blue screen with mouse pointer keeps showing during those 10 minutes.     I tried session.createSQLQuery("ALTER TABLE People MODIFY address VARCHAR(1000);").executeUpdate(); but this throws org.hibernate.exception.SQLGrammarException: could not execute native bulk manipulation query After a lot of googling, the recommendation is to use HQL instead of SQL query to do bulk updates. Not sure how to use HQL to accomplish this. There seems to be no decent HQL documentation for updating column length in a table. Thanks so much for the help.

  • In C# ,how do I terminate a thread that has had its call stack corrupted?

    I have a thread in my application that is running code that can potentially cause call stack corruption ( my application is a testing tool for dlls ). Assuming that I have a method of detecting if the child thread is misbehaving, how would I terminate it? From what I read, calling Thread.Abort() on the misbehaving thread would be equivalent to raising an exception inside it.I fear that that not be a good idea, provided the call stack of the thread might be corrupted.Any suggestions?

    Do I need a infinite key with fbml facebook app that resides on fanpage? I am asking user to select user and posting it(facebook posts) to my server. On my server I want to get user_id and selected friends Id. Everything is fine with selected friend_ids, but have issues with getting id of a user. sometimes I can get it all fine, sometimes I am getting session expired exception, sometimes I get nothing. any ideas why this is happening?

  • Android: How to properly exit application when inconsistent condition is unavoidable?

    First of all I already read about all this discussion that it isn't a good idea to manually exit an Android application. But in my case it seems to be needed. I have an AsyncTask which does a lof of operations in background. That means downloading data, saving it to local storage and preparing it for usage in application. It could happen that there is no internet connection or something different happens. For all that cases I have an Exception handling which returns the result. And if there is an exception, the application is unusable so I need to exit it. My question is, do I have to do some unregistration unloading or unbinding tasks or something when I exit the application by code or is System.exit(0) ok?     I am trying to access a locally hosted website and get its HTML source to parse. I have few questions: 1) Can I use "https://An IP ADDRESS HERE" as a valid URL to try and access. I do not want to make changes in the /etc/hosts file so I want to do it this way. 2) I cannot get the html, since it is giving me Handshake exceptions and Certificate issues.     When I run the following program: public static void main(String args[]) throws Exception { byte str[] = {(byte)0xEC, (byte)0x96, (byte)0xB4}; String s = new String(str, "UTF-8"); } on Linux and inspect the value of s in jdb, I correctly get: s = "ì–´" on Windows, I incorrectly get: s = "?" My byte sequence is a valid UTF-8 character in Korean, why would it be producing two very different results?
