    I need to create database for SQL Server, what kind of naming convention I sohuld use? 1) Table names could be : customer, Customer, CUSTOMER 2) Field names could be : customer_id, CustomerId, CustomerID, CUSTOMER_ID, customerid, CUSTOMERID and so on... Is there any official suggestion for naming conventions or what is msot common way to name tables and fields?

  • Display an Image using C# in Web Application

    Hello again, I have a Web Application that I built a C# class in that generates a Report. This report takes nearly 40 seconds to generate because it searches hundreds of folders for certain files. So I was hoping there was a way to display a "Loading.." icon as this report is generating. I have a gif stored in my Images folder that would be perfect. The research that I've done at this point mostly talks about picturebox's and image controls that can hold the image but I was hoping there was just a way of displaying the image above the report while its being created. The Web Application is from a Web ADF Geocortex website and again I created a C# class that generates this report.     Lets say I have 2 columns in my data Grid: Column A: Selected, and Column B: Name. The Selected column is a checkbox. And Name column is text field. I want to set the color of the text in 'Name' column as Blue if Column A's check box is checked, and Red otherwise. Essentially I don't know how to bind data between columns of the datagrid.     I have a MySQL database with a field Name which contains full names. To select all people with last names starting with a particular letter, let's say A for this example, I use the following query: SELECT * FROM db WHERE Name LIKE '% A%'. However, this also selects users who have a middle name starting with A. Is there anyway to alter this query so that only a last name starting in A will be selected?

    I'm testing a Python parser. I have Python 2.6/2.7 firmly under control, and some good (large) code samples on which I've tested it. I'm interested in testing my Python3 variant. I've been to various Python open source web sites (e.g., http://pythonsource.com/), which list lots of packages, but they are pretty unclear as whether these are Python 2.x vs 3.x source files. The several samples that I downloaded all turned out to be Python 2.x. Where can I find a number of large Python 3 software source codes? I don't really want 1000 little separate Python3 files; I prefer big applications.

  • Scrapped HTML does not written at the beginning of text file.

    Currently, I'm scraping the HTML code of a page, and write it to a txt file. My problem is, why there must be empty spaces or empty lines at the beginning? The HTML codes written to the txt file, seems does not start at the beginning of the txt file. Means, the '<' does not located at the position 0 of the txt file. After a few runs, my HTML is always written a few lines down inside the txt file. Can anyone tell me why : )

For example, if a class has a string field, and I want to find all classes that have some specific keyword in that string, how can I do that? It looks like JDOQL's matches() don't work...   • Forbid developer to commit code because of making weekly build

    Our development team (about 40 developers) has a formal build every two weeks. We have a process that in the "build day", every developers are forbiden to commit code into SVN. I don't think this is a good idea because: Build will take days (even weeks in bad time) to make and BVT. People couldn't comit code as they will, they will not work. People will comit all codes in a hurge pack, so the common is hard to write. I want know if your team has same policy, and if not how do you take this situation. Thanks

  • Are frameworks using byte-code generation creating leaky abstractions?

    My point is, if you don't understand the abstraction of a framework, you can still decompile it and understand it, because you know the language e.g. Java. However, when byte-code generation happens, you have to understand even a lower level - JVM level byte-codes. I am really affraid of using any of such frameworks, which are many. Most of the time I think the reason for byte-code generation is simply lack of language features such as metaprogramming. Do you agree? What is your opinion and argument? How do you take over the problem with leaky abstractions in those frameworks?

    I am trying to get client validation working in MVC3 using data annotations. I have looked at similar posts including this MVC3 Client side validation not working for the answer. I'm using an EF data model. I created a partial class like this for my validations.
