• target="_blank" link using jQuery UI Tabs

  Hello, I would like to use my existing Jquery UI tabs to shoot my users off to a new browser window Unfortunately adding a target="_blank" to the jquery tab code doesn't work. Does anyone have any ideas? • Python - Check if numbers in list are factors of a number

  Hey, I have a list of numbers (integers) (say, from 1 to 10). They're not necessarily consecutive, but they are in ascending order. I've prompted the user multiple times to enter a choice of the available numbers. When that number is entered, it is removed from the list along with any of its factors that may be there. I've prevented the user from selecting prime numbers. However, at some point in time, there may be non-prime numbers there, which have no factors remaining. I'm relatively new to Python, so I'm having trouble implementing: Checking if the number selected has no factors remaining (even if it is not prime). Checking if only prime numbers remain, or numbers without factors. I'm thinking of using for statements, but I'm not sure exactly how to implement them. Can anyone offer advice, or code? Thanks in advance... PS. In case anyone's wondering, I'm doing an implementation of the game of Taxman in Python.

• Automated builds of BizTalk 2009 projects using Team System 2008 Build

  I'm trying to configure automated build of BizTalk 2009 projects using Team Foundation Server 2008. We have a staging server which has BizTalk 2009 installed. I ran the Team Foundation Server Build Setup on this server, and it can build non-BizTalk projects OK. However, BizTalk projects fail to build. I suspected something was amiss when "Deployment" was not a valid build type! I tried copying various things over from a developer PC which has BizTalk and Visual Studio 2008 installed, but still couldn't get it to work. I don't really want to install Visual Studio on the staging server, but without it the "Developer Tools and SDK" option in the BizTalk install is greyed out. I guess I need this in order for BizTalk projects to compile. So, my question is can a BizTalk 2009 server be used as a TFS build agent to build BizTalk projects without having Visual Studio installed. If the answer is no, what's the smallest part of VS that can be installed to get this to work? Thanks in advance.

• Signup form using Braintree Transparent Redirect

  Hi, I'm developing an application in Rails and want the user to be able to signup and provide their card details on one form. I'm using the Braintree API and their transparent redirect, which means that the form data is posted directly to Braintree. How can I store and later retrieve the non-payment related information provided by the user from that form e.g. account name, username? Add a user who really badly wants to avoid the requirement of an installer with the necessary privileges to write to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT. I've seem bits of evidence that MS has created some sort of trick for shadowing HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT from HKCU. Is this, in fact, possible? If so, can this be installed as a non-privileged MSI, or does it have to be arranged otherwise? And, finally, what's the minimum version of Windows required?

• How to automate a build for a Visual FoxPro project?

  I'm interested in figuring out how to automate a build from Visual FoxPro similar to how we can build .NET projects from the command line using MSBuild. It seems that it is possible to pass command line arguments to VFP.exe which may include the ability to specify some initial startup prg that runs however it is unclear how well starting up the IDE will work from non-interactive accounts such as the Network Service on Windows which is likely where an automated build would run. Has anybody attempt this before or read about anybody attempting to script a VFP build like this? I would be grateful for any pointers that may lead me to a solution.

  I'm building a mobile version for my website using Jquery Mobile API. The framework provides automate AJAX navigation processing. But as far as i know it require "real" pages for loading purpose. What i want to do is override the automate navigation process of it and process the hashchange on my own. But i can't not rewrite the url using window.hashChange, which is running well on my non-mobile website version : $(function () { $(window).off().hashchange(function () { if (location.hash.length > 1) { PageSelect(); } }); $(window).hashchange(); }); I just only want to take advantage on jquery mobile interfaces, i don't want anything with its automate ajax navigation stuff !   Hi, I am trying to figure out under what circumstances I should use weak (non-identifying) relationships (where the primary key of the related entity does not contain a primary key component of the parent entity), verses when I should use strong (identifying) relationships (primary key of the related entity contains a primary key component of the parent entity). For example, when designing an Entity Relationship Diagram , if I have two entities, (e.g. book and purchaser), how do I know when to choose the solid Crows Foot or the dashed Crows Foot to connect the two entities?   These days a number of commercial and open source tools have been developed for this purpose. However(unfortunately), non of them meet my requirement for specific problem I am dealing with. Currently, I am working on a project that exposes a different classes and functions to user as scripting interface. the user can use the objects from custom scripting interface and call methods to solve some specific problem. The problem I am facing is users of my classes need some sort of documentation in order to write their script efficiently. To address this problem am planing to use the compiler generated XML file to provide context sensitive help, which allows users to mouse over on any of the controls and corresponding methods from the GUI and read the reference documentation of the class/method. Now ... here are my questions: Can I get the sample source code? Can any one give me someone point me to some sort of best approach to address the problem?

• Tricks to avoid losing motivation?

  Motivation is a tricky thing to upkeep. Once I thought that ambitious projects will keep programmer motivated, and too simple tasks will hinder his motivation. Now I have plenty of experience with small and large projects, desktop/web/database programming, c++/c#/java/php languages, oop/non-oop paradigms, day-job/free-time programming.. but I still can't answer the question of motivation. Which programming tasks I like, and which don't? It seems to depend on too many variables. One thing remains constant though. It's that starting everything from scratch is always more motivating than extending some existing system. Unfortunately it's hard to use this trick in productive programming. :) So my question is, what tricks programmer can use to stay motivated? For example should we use pen and paper as much as possible, in order not to get fed up with monitor and keyboard?

• Extracting pure content / text from HTML Pages by excluding navigation and chrome content

  Hi, I am crawling news websites and want to extract News Title, News Abstract (First Paragraph), etc I plugged into the webkit parser code to easily navigate webpage as a tree. To eliminate navigation and other non news content I take the text version of the article (minus the html tags, webkit provides api for the same). Then I run the diff algorithm comparing various article's text from same website this results in similar text being eliminated. This gives me content minus the common navigation content etc. Despite the above approach I am still getting quite some junk in my final text. This results in incorrect News Abstract being extracted. The error rate is 5 in 10 article i.e. 50%. Error as in Can you Suggest an alternative strategy for extraction of pure content, Would/Can learning Natural Language rocessing help in extracting correct abstract from these articles ? How would you approach the above problem ?. Are these any research papers on the same ?. Regards Ankur Gupta

• UART speed possibly wrong

  My brain is fried, so I thought I would pass this one to the community. When sending 1 character to my embedded system, it consistently thinks it receives 2 characters. The first received character seems to map to the transmitted character (in some unkown way) and the second received character is always 0xff Here is what I observed: Tx char (in hex) Rx character (in hex), I left out the second byte (always ff) 31 9D 32 9B 33 99 61 3D 62 3B 63 39 64 37 65 35 41 7D 42 7B 43 79 I have check my clocks and them seem to be ok. The only diff between this non working version and the previous version is that i am now using a RS485 chip. I have traced the signal all the way up to the MCU and it looks fine (confirmed the bit value on the rx pin)

I'm trying to insert some strings into a MySQL db direct from Python, and keep getting tripped up by quotes in the strings. mysql_string = "INSERT INTO candidate (name, address) VALUES " for k, v in v_dict.iteritems(): mysql_string += " ('" + v_dict['name'] + "', '" + v_dict['address'] + "'), " mysql_string += ";" cursor.execute(mysql_string) I've tried re.escape() but that escapes every non-alphanumeric character in the strings, which isn't what I need - I just need to escape single quotes in this instance (plus more generally anything else that might trip up MySQL). Could do this manually I guess, but is there a smarter way to do it in Python?

  I came across many questions on deep copy but non of them helped me I have a class say class A { ... public List<B> ListB; .... } where B is again another class which inturn may inherit/contain some other classes Take this scenario A is a very huge class and contain many reference types I can not mark B as serializable as i don't have access to source code of B(Though I can Mark A as serializable) Problem:below methods to perform deep copy does not work because I can not use Iclonable, memberwise clone technique as class A conatins many reference types I can not write a copy constructor for A , as the class is huge and keeps growing and contained classes (Like B) can't be deep copied I can't use serialization technique as i can not mark conatined class(like B, for which no source code avilaable) as serializable So how can I deep copy the object of Class A? (I read about "surrogate serialization" technique some where but not clear)

• Trouble setting a default controller in MVC 2 RC Area

  This should be simple, but alas... I've set up an Admin area within my MVC 2 project (single project areas). I've created a couple controllers and their respective view folders. In the AreaRegistration.RegisterArea method, I've specified that I want the default controller to be "Dashboard": public override void RegisterArea(AreaRegistrationContext context) { context.MapRoute( "Admin_default", "Admin/{controller}/{action}/{id}", new { controller = "Dashboard", action = "Index", id = "" }, new string[] { "Admin" } ); } If I navigate to url/Admin/Dashboard, the index comes up just fine. What I want, though, is to allow the user to go to url/Admin/ and see the same thing. When I do this, however, I get "The resource cannot be found". I'm just getting my feet wet with MVC 2's Area implementation, and I don't think I'm doing anything overly complicated... Anyone had the same problem? Do I need to specify a separate route, perhaps at the root, non-area level?

  Most UNIX regular expressions have, besides the usual *,+,? operators a backslash operator where \1,\2,... match whatever's in the last parentheses, so for example L=(a)b\1* matches the (non regular) language a^n b a^n On one hand, this seems to be pretty powerful since you can create (a*)b\1b\1 to match the language a^n b a^n b a^n which can't even be recognized by a stack automaton. On the other hand, I'm pretty sure a^n b^n cannot be expressed this way. Two questions: 1. Is there any literature on this family of languages (UNIX-y regular). In particular, is there a version of the pumping lemma for these? 2. Can someone prove (or perhaps disprove) that a^n b^n cannot be expressed this way? Thanks

How do I get and install the 64 bit version of this lib?

  I have seen hooks in Kohana PHP framework, and they work as some sort of a callback function triggered by a certain event (Kohana's events that is, some sort of method overloading). I have seen hooks in Wordpress, and I don't know what they are or how to use them (just saw them yesterday). I'm looking for events in "non-frameworked" php, I cannot find ones. Do hooks work only in an "event-based" environment? What are they anyway (in general, not just in PHP)? What are they good for if not in an "event-based" environment.

• Where is my SQLite database?

  I have installed SQLite version 3 into a non-standard location on my dreamhost user account. I compiled it and installed it just fine, and it works with $db=new SQLiteDatabase("db.foont"); I can create tables and insert and read data with the SQLiteDatabase object just fine. However, I want to use PDO. My problem is that PDO requires an absolute path to the database specified in the connection. e.g., 'sqlite:/path/to/db.sq3' a) this is dumb - if the other object can figure out where the db is without an absolute path why can't PDO's sqlite driver - but that's not my question. b) where the heck is my database being stored? I can't find it anywhere in my user filesystem, and I'm pretty sure I don't have access to anything else.

• Why is AudioOutputUnitStart freezing my app in iOS 4?

  Hi guys, I have an audio app which uses the RemoteIO AudioUnit. It works fine on iPhone, iPad, and any flavor of the simulator on 3.2, but when it hits AudioOutputUnitStart (), it freezes. I get the message "AddRunningClient starting device on non-zero client count" in the console, which I'm not sure how to resolve. I stop the unit and dispose of the AudioComponent every time the app closes. The app works fine the first time I run after restarting everything, but freezes every time after that. What's strange is there are no error messages - just an unresponsive interface and a frozen line of code. Thanks for your help. Luke

• Can Castle Monorail and ASP.NET MVC coexist in the same project?

  I have a large Monorail project that we have decided we are going to move over to ASP.NET MVC. Most of the underlying system will likely be reusable, but the Controllers will of course have to be rewritten, and proabably at least some of the views. It strikes me that a low risk avenue for this is gradually convert well defined sections of the system to MVC, and perhaps as MVCContrib Portable Areas. Does anyone know if there are any non-obvious gotchas that I am likely to run into with this approach? Thanks for your input, Matthew
