  I m trying to get file event notifications using fsevents.h file. I m working with Mac OS X 10.6 and XCode 3.1.4 in which i found fsevents.h in four following locations /System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/CarbonCore.framework/Versions/A/Headers/FSEvents.h /Xcode3.1.4/SDKs/MacOSX10.5.sdk/System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/CarbonCore.framework/Versions/A/Headers /Developer/SDKs/MacOSX10.5.sdk/System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/CarbonCore.framework/Versions/A/Headers /Developer/SDKs/MacOSX10.6.sdk/System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/CarbonCore.framework/Versions/A/Headers I have following issues in accessing fsevents.h 1) Out of above four locations which one should be included since fsevents is not getting included unless i put following include syntax include<../../../../Developer/SDKs/MacOSX10.6.sdk/System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/CarbonCore.framework/Versions/A/Headers/fsevents.h 2) Where could I find the function definition whose prototypes are declared in fsevents.h using "extern" keyword

• GDB question - how do I go through disassembled code line by line?

  I'd like to go through a binary file my teacher gave me line by line to check addresses on the stack and the contents of different registers, but I'm not extremely familiar with using gdb. Although I have the C code, we're supposed to work entirely from a binary file. Here are the commands I've used so far: (gdb) file SomeCode Which gives me this message: Reading symbols from ../overflow/SomeCode ...(no debugging symbols found)...done. Then I use : (gdb) disas main which gives me all of the assembly. I wanted to set up a break point and use the "next" command, but none of the commands I tried work. Does anyone know the syntax I would use?

I thought of using ftp task. Before that as a check I tried to ftp unix sever from windows but it gave connection refused error(Do I need to provide my username and password,if that is the case what is the syntax). But I am able to connect through putty which asks for my user name and password. Does putty uses a different protocol. So if that is the case does ftp task works for me in ANT?. If not what task I need to use?

  I have Python downloaded already, but want to contribute code to the Enthought Tool Suite (ETS). According to this site (http://code.enthought.com/source/): it says to download the following python script: https://raw.github.com/enthought/ets/master/ets.py I put the ets.py into the python script, save as...and in the Python Shell, I typed in "import ets" However, nothing happens. Also, the site says to run the following commands: $ mkdir ets $ cd ets # and copy ets.py here $ python ets.py clone Typing those lines in Python Shell gives me the message: "SyntaxError: invalid syntax" As you can see, I'm new to Python, and I don't know what I'm doing. How do I download the ETS script and run the commands??

• PHP - Cannot use Heredoc within a class method?

  I'm writing the code for a controller method and I need to use it to send an email. I'm trying to use heredoc syntax to fill in the email body, however, the closing tag doesn't seem to be recognized. $this->email = new Email(); $this->email->from = 'Automated Email'; $this->email->to = '[email protected]'; $this->email->subject = 'A new user has registered'; $this->email->body = <<<EOF Hello, a new user has registered. EOF; $this->email->send(); Everything from the opening <<< EOF down (till the end of the file) is displayed as if it was in quotes. Can anyone see why this is not working? Any advice appreciated.   I'm trying to get a stored procedure to work using the following syntax: select count(sl.Item_Number) as NumOccurrences from spv3SalesDocument as sd left outer join spv3saleslineitem as sl on sd.Sales_Doc_Type = sl.Sales_Doc_Type and sd.Sales_Doc_Num = sl.Sales_Doc_Num where sd.Sales_Doc_Type='ORDER' and sd.Sales_Doc_Num='OREQP0000170' and sl.Item_Number = 'MCN-USF' group by sl.Item_Number having count (distinct sl.Item_Number) = 0 In this particular case when the criteria is not met the query returns no records and the 'count' is just blank. I need a 0 returned so that I can apply a condition instead of just nothing. I'm guessing it is a fairly simple fix but beyond my simple brain capacity. Any help is greatly appreciated. Wally

  I am beginning to use LINQ in general (so far toXML and toSQL). I've seen that sometimes there are two or more ways to achieve the same results.   Hi. I need to set java -Djava.library.path=/some/path and I want to do it when I am running my ant script, building my jar. I think I have to use <sysproperty key="java.library.path" value="/some/path"/> but it doesnt work. I cannot make the syntax work. The only thing I have Googled and found is sysproperty in conjunction with <java classname> but that doesnt make any sense to me. I am not sure if this is relevant, but I am using ant to create a ear and deploying this ear in JBoss.

• Debugging SQL in PGAdmin3 when sql contains variables

  In SQL Server I could copy sql code out of an application and paste it into SSMS, declare & assign vars that exist in the sql and run.. yay great debugging scenario. e.g. (please note I am rust and syntax may be incorrect) declare @x as varchar(10) set @x = 'abc' select * from sometable where somefield = @x I want to do something simular with postgres in pgadmin3 (or another postgres tool, anyy reccomendations?) I realise you can create pgscript, but it doesn't appear to be very good, for example, if I do the equlivent of above, it doesn't put the single quotes around the value in @x, nor does it let me by doubling them up and you don't get a table out after - only text... Currently I have a peice of sql someone has written that has 3 unique varibles in it which are used around 6 times each... So the question is how do other people debug sql this sql EFFICIENTLY, preferably in a simular fashion to my sql server days.

  Anyone know of a wiki or wiki plugin that generates a PDF file or CHM file that spans the entire wiki? I would like to have control of the table of contents. I would like the internal and external links to work. Ideally allow for tweaking the output template, but that is not a deal-breaker. I want to generate content using WIKI syntax and mindset (lots of cross-links etc), but ship the content in PDF, CHM or an embedded application form. Something friendlier than installing the wiki software on the enduser machine...

  I am looking at the website. Trying to transfer selenium html to junit but could not get it to work because it keeps saying Error: Element not found. Maybe syntax error because I was able to break it down to the shortest path in firebug but still could not get to compile..What do you do in this case ? Enrollment I use firebug Xpath to get the value of the above link /html/body/div[@id='contentDisplayPane']/div[@id='mainDiv']/div[@id='mainDivContent']/div[@id='simpleBox']/table/tbody/tr[2]/td[@id='fb_PageContent']/table/tbody/tr/td/table/tbody/tr/td[4]/a Using firebug xpath, I was able to break it down to this and able to access Enrollment link..However when I put this in the junit test case selenium.click(("//div[@id='simpleBox']/table/tbody/tr[2]/td[@id='fb_PageContent']/table/tbody/tr/td/table/tbody/tr/td[4]/a"); I get ERROR: Element //div[@id='simpleBox']/table/tbody/tr[2]/td[@id='fb_PageContent']/table/tbody/tr/td/table/tbody/tr/td[4]/a") not found Any help or tip is appreciated

• ::LookupAccountSid API Extremely Slow When Targetting x64 Platform (Windows 7)

  During our application startup, we are making a call to ::LookupAccountSid(). When I build targetting the x86 architecture, this call is nearly instantaneous. However, when I target x64 (debug or release), the call generally takes over 40s to complete. Since this is occurring during application startup, the result is fairly unpleasant as it will appear to the user that the application is not launching. I am running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit on a Dell Studio XPS 16 (Intel Core i7 Q 720). Our application is a native Windows application written in C++.   Hey all, I'm looking for some ANTLR examples, I tried googling a bit but I found certain things which didn't fit my requirments. I found the Mantra project, but it's statically typed and is 'too' big for me at this moment, then I found 'pie' as interpreter, which is dynamically typed, which what I want, but it uses a syntax-directed interpreter. I'm looking for a pretty small language which is dynamically typed and uses AST's if possible. It doesn't need to be advanced, if it would have classes I would already be very happy. • How to determine if an application is using the GPU

  I'm looking for a way to determine how to know whether an application is using the GPU with Objective-C. I want to be able to determine if any applications currently running on the system have work going on on the GPU (ie: a reason why the latest MacBook Pros would switch to the discrete graphics over the Intel HD graphics). I've tried getting the information by crossing the list of active windows with the list of windows that have their backing location stored in video memory using Quartz Window Services, but all that does is return the Dock application and I have other applications open that I know are using the GPU (Photoshop CS5, Interface Builder), that and the Dock doesn't require the 330m.

• How to localize HeaderText in GridView or validation controls?

  I cannot figure out why HeaderText or validation controls always fallback to default culture - even though rest of the controls are in correct culture. I have a gridView with HeaderText specified in this way <asp:BoundField DataField="totalSales" HeaderText="<%$ Resources:Strings,TotalSales %>" /> In the same way I have validation controls and they can't be localized. Only this syntax does work <%= Resources.Strings.Payments %> I set different culture in Master page using this statement in Page_Init Me.Page.Culture = "pl-PL" Me.Page.UICulture = "pl-PL" Can anyone spot what's wrong? • resolving localhost in php so can be views outside VM

  I'm running Windows 7. Within, I'm running Virtualbox and Ubuntu. Within Ubuntu, I'm running Apache and using PHP codeigniter. To reference our CSS and JS files, we use this syntax: <?php echo site_url('css/styles.css'); ?> When viewing the site locally (within Ubuntu VM) that resolves to: http://localhost/styles.css So works fine. The catch is when I access that site from within Windows 7 (for IE testing). To access the site in Windows 7, I refer to the IP address of the VM: http://xx.x.x.x/ That loads the site but, alas, all the site_url variables are still being rewritten as 'localhost'. Said files obviously don't exist on the localhost of my windows 7. Is there a way around this short of just hard-coding relative links in my PHP file?

  I have a multiple select, and I need to force the user to choose maximum two options, nothing more. I'm trying this: jQuery.validator.addMethod("morethantwo", function(value, element) { var foo = []; $(element+' :selected').each(function(i, selected){ foo[i] = $(selected).text(); alert(foo[i]); }); return true; },"Max two options." ); The problem is that I get a: uncaught exception: Syntax error, unrecognized expression: [object HTMLSelectElement] error. While if I do this: $(element).each(function(i, selected){ foo[i] = $(selected).text(); alert(foo[i]); }); It works but I get all the options in the select. Why is that? Is this the correct road to walk? Are there better ways to do this kind of check? Thank you very much!

• Execute an autocommand only once

  I have an issue with using GVim on Windows. I have set up the following in my .vimrc: if has("gui_running") autocmd VIMEnter * :source C:/session.vim endif Unfortunately this creates a problem. If I'm a the top of the file and try to move up a line (k), the screen flashes. If I hold the key for just a second it will flash a few dozen times, it is really nasty too look at. I've tried using GUIEnter instead but I got the same results. The docs mention that I can fire an autocommand only once, but I couldn't figure out the exact syntax. Care to help?

  I was just thinking to myself "How exactly is a PHP script executed?" I thought it was parsed first for syntax errors etc, and then interpreted and executed. However, I don't know why I believe that is correct. I'm probably wrong. So, how exactly is a PHP file interpreted and executed? What stages does this involve? How do included files fit into the parsing of the script? This is just to help me get my head around it. I'm interested and can not find a good answer with Google. Thanks!

  Hi, I would like to know the popular ways of naming files in JavaScript and PHP development. I am working on a JS+PHP system, and I do not know how to name my files. Currently I do for JS: framework/ framework/widget/ framework/widget/TextField.js (Framework.widget.TextField()) Framework.js (Framework()) So, my folders are lowercase and objects CamelCase, but what should I do when the folder/namespace requires more than one word? And what about PHP? jQuery seems to follow: jquery.js jquery.ui.js jquery.plugin-name.js so that it is jquery(\.[a-z0-9-])*\.js but ExtJS follows completely different approach. Douglas Crockford only gives us details about his preference for syntax conventions.

  Normally in OpenRasta there is some configuration like this: ResourceSpace.Has.ResourcesOfType<Customers>() .AtUri("/customers/region/{region}") ... // and so on ... where the {region} part of the path is automatically mapped to a string parameter in the handling method. So if the user hits: http://server/customers/region/emea Then the handler method is passed the string "emea". As well as doing this, I'd like to register a handler with something like this: ResourceSpace.Has.ResourcesOfType<Customers>() .AtUri("/someotherthing/*") ... // and so on In this imaginary syntax, the asterisk would mean "take the rest of the path, including slashes, to be a single string parameter to pass to the handling method". And so if the user hits: http://server/someotherthing/how/about/this?that=other Then my handler method receives a string parameter: how/about/this?that=other Is such a thing possible in OpenRasta? In Sinatra (Ruby) I'd use a regular expression to do exactly this.

  I am trying to copy a file using the following code: File targetFile = new File(targetPath + File.separator + filename); ... targetFile.createNewFile(); fileInputStream = new FileInputStream(fileToCopy); fileOutputStream = new FileOutputStream(targetFile); byte[] buffer = new byte[64*1024]; int i = 0; while((i = fileInputStream.read(buffer)) != -1) { fileOutputStream.write(buffer, 0, i); } For some users the targetFile.createNewFile results in this exception: java.io.IOException: The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect at java.io.WinNTFileSystem.createFileExclusively(Native Method) at java.io.File.createNewFile(File.java:850) Filename and directory name seem to be correct. The directory targetPath is even checked for existence before the copy code is executed and the filename looks like this: AB_timestamp.xml The user has write permissions to the targetPath and can copy the file without problems using the OS. As I don't have access to a machine this happens on yet and can't reproduce the problem on my own machine I turn to you for hints on the reason for this exception.
