  Hi, I am trying to setup ext javascript grid within zend framework mvc. • Set query FROM table using report parameter in BIRT

  Hi, I am using the BIRT report writer, and I have multiple tables with the same data structure. In my report design, I want to select the table my query uses as a report parameter (as part of a mysql query in the data set) -- but I can't figure it out. When I create the data set, it's great that I can use parameters in the form of SELECT * FROM WHERE ?, and set these to report parameters, but I get an error if I set the ? to the table, such as: SELECT * FROM ? WHERE 1 Is there another way I can do this? As it's java, I assume the syntax follows that of a PreparedStatement. In BIRT 2.5 there is a property binding option under the data set dialog... and I've tried setting my query as: "SELECT * FROM "+params["DataTable"].value+" WHERE 1", but that was also results in an error.

• How to utilize my computation resources.

  Hi all, I wrote a program to solve a complicated problem. This program is just a c# console application and doesn't do console.write until the computation part is finished, so output won't affect the performance. The program is like this: static void Main(string[] args) { Thread WorkerThread = new Thread(new ThreadStart(Run), StackSize); WorkerThread.Priority = ThreadPriority.Highest; WorkerThread.Start(); Console.WriteLine("Worker thread is runing..."); WorkerThread.Join(); } Now it takes 3 minute to run, when I open my task manager, I see it only take 12% of the cpu time. I actually have a i7 intel cpu with 6G three channel DDR3 memory. I am wondering how I can improve the utilization of my hardware. Thanks a lot

• Add Today's Date to SharePoint Master Page

  Surely there must be a simple way of putting a simple code block into a master page :( I've tried using the obvious <%= "Hello, World!" %> syntax but code blocks aren't allowed. Then tried a site column, but don't know how to use them. Then tried web zones but master pages can't use them. Tried putting a web part (which are super difficult to make and deploy btw) into the page layout, but it just doesn't render :/ All I want is something nice and simple at the top of my site which shows today's date and the format I want to use is DateTime.Today.ToString("ddd, d MMMM yyyy") (Otherwise I'm resorting to javascript document.write!) • Mac OS X, Can't start/stop MySQL via System Preferences

  I downloaded and installed MySQL 5.1.47 for OS X 10.6 using the DMG archive: mysql-5.1.47-osx10.6-x86_64.dmg I also installed MySQL.prefPane and MySQLStartupItem.pkg. MySQL.prefPane is a Preference Pane. The problem is, whenever I attempt to start/stop MySQL from the Preference Pane, System Preferences just hangs. It runs at about 50% CPU forever, eventually I have for force quit System Preferences. The same thing happens if I toggle "Automatically Start MySQL Server on Startup". Basically the MySQL Preference Pane is not functional. Note that I have no problem starting MySQL from the command line: sudo /usr/local/mysql/bin/mysqld_safe I have tried reinstalling MySQL and the Preference Pane. I'm using the standard installation location, nothing out of the ordinary. Every time the MySQL Preference Pane just hangs. I'm doing this on a Macbook Pro (Intel) running OS X 10.6.3. There are no old versions of MySQL on this machine.

  Hello, I am currently trying to find the parent of a parent of an element. I have a link being clicked that is in a <td>, and I'd like to get the <tr> object. Why wont "$(this).parent().parent()" work? What will? Thanks, Brendan Edit: It appears an error in my syntax was throwing the whole thing off. "$(this).parent().parent()" does in fact work, but I wound up going with $(this).closest('tr')" because it seems like the most efficient solution.

• SVM in OpenCV: Visual Studio 2008 reported error wrongly (or is it right?)

  I'm using MS Visual Studio 2008, OpenCV, C++ and SVM for a OCR-related project. At least I can run the code until yesterday, when I open the project to continue working, VS reported this error: error C2664: 'bool CvSVM::train(const CvMat *,const CvMat *,const CvMat *,const CvMat *,CvSVMParams)' : cannot convert parameter 1 from 'cv::Mat' to 'const CvMat *' It didn't happen before and I haven't changed any code relating to it (I only changed the parameters for the kernel). The code got error is: Mat curTrainData, curTrainLabel; CvSVM svm; . . . svm.train(curTrainData, curTrainLabel, Mat(), Mat(), params); If I hover on the code, I still got this tip: image. Which means my syntax isn't wrong. So why do VS bother to report such an error?

  Greetings I'm working on a project that requires me to write queries in text form, then convert them to some easily processed nodes to be processed by some abiguous repository. Of everything there, the part I'm least interested is the part that converts the text to nodes. I'm hoping it's already done somewhere. Because I'm making stuff up as I go, I chose to use a LINQish expression syntax. from m in Movie select m.A, m.B I started parsing it manually and got the basics, but it's pretty cheesy. I'm looking for the better solution. I made some progress using MGrammar, but it would be nice if such a thing already existed. Does anyone know of anything that already does this? I looked for existing ANTLR templates, but no luck. Thanks for the help.

I'm trying this to match the first two just as a test: "/meadinkent/record/comp_div[.='" & comp_div & "'] and /meadinkent/record/sty_ret_type[.='" & sty_ret_type & "']" Which is failing, saying no nodes are returned. Currently, the format looks like this: {{ value|filesizeformat }} I understand I need to define this in my view.py file but, I can't seem to figure out how to do that.   I want to build a Brainf*ck (Damn that name) interpreter in my freshly created programming language to prove it's turing-completeness. Now, everything is clear so far (<+-,.) - except one thing: The loops ([]). I assume that you know the (extremely hard) BF syntax from here on: How do I implement the BF loops in my interpreter? How could the pseudocode look like? What should I do when the interpreter reaches a loop beginning ([) or a loop end (])? Checking if the loop should continue or stop is not the problem (current cell==0), but: When and where do I have to check? How to know where the loop beginning is located? How to handle nested loops? As loops can be nested I suppose that I can't just use a variable containing the starting position of the current loop. I've seen very small BF interpreters implemented in various languages, I wonder how they managed to get the loops working but can't figure it out.

• Getting Unexpected '<' in simple less than greater than comparison

  I feel very very very silly posting this, but I can't find the answer. I've searched google and here. // originally values in a multi dimensional array, but used simple values // to rule out errors. $somenumber = 1; $anotherone=5; if ($somenumber < $res->shares < $anotherone ) { blah } Get the error: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '<' Seems pretty simple and straight forward. Is there some weird thing that you can't compare multiple values? Do I have to explicitly type? It works in Perl. Which of course means that it has to work like this in everything else. ;)

I have asked them but they had replied that it may not be a problem on membership. Please anyone share what can be the reason for the error.I am not able to open that file(jaclplus.class.php) since its a binary file.

I thought I may ask your for your ideas. assume I have very small set of numbers (integers), 4 or 8 elements, that need to be sorted, fast. what would be the best approach/algorithm? my approach was to use the max/min functions. I guess my question pertains more to implementation, rather than type of algorithm. At this point it becomes somewhat hardware dependent , so let us assume Intel 64-bit processor with SSE3 . Thanks

  I'm trying to put together a business case for getting every developer in our company an Intel SSD drive. The main codebase contains roughly 400,000 lines of code. My theory is that since the code is scattered about in maybe 1500 files, an SSD drive would be substantially faster for compiles. The logic being that many small reads really punishes the seak-time bottle-neck of a traditional hard-drive. Am I right? Is SSD worth the money in productivity gains by reducing the edit/compile cycle time?
