  • Asyncronus javascript rendering widgets

    - by Joe J
    Hey all, I'm creating a javascript widget so third partys (web designers) can post a link on their website and it will render the widget on their site. Currently, I'm doing this with just a script link tag: <div class="some_random_div_in_html_body"> <script type='text/javascript' src='http://remotehost.com/link/to/widget.js'></script> </div> However, this has the side-effect of slowing down a thrid party's website render times of the page if my site is under a load. Therefore, I'd like the third party website to request the widget link from my site asyncronously and then render it on their site when the widget link loads completely. The Google Analytics javascript snippet seems to have a nice bit of asyncronous code that does a nice async request to model off of, but I'm wondering if I can modify it so that it will render content on the third party's site. Using the example below, I want the content of http://mysite.com/link/to/widget.js to render something in the "message" id field. <HTML> <HEAD><TITLE>Third Party Site</TITLE><STYLE>#message { background-color: #eee; } </STYLE></HEAD> <BODY> <div id="message">asdf</div> <script type="text/javascript"> (function() { var ga = document.createElement('script'); ga.type = 'text/javascript'; ga.async = true; ga.src = 'http://mysite.com/link/to/widget.js'; var s = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; s.parentNode.insertBefore(ga, s); })(); </script> </BODY> </HTML> I don't know if what I'm trying to do constitutes Cross Site Scripting (still a bit vague on that concept) but am wondering if what I'm trying to do is possible. Or if anyone has any other approaches to creating javascript widgets effectively, I'd appreciate any advice. Thanks for reading this. Joe

  • HLSL, Program pixel shader with different Texture2D downscaling algorithms

    - by Kaminari
    I'm trying to port some image interpolation algorithms into HLSL code, for now i got: float2 texSize; float scale; int method; sampler TextureSampler : register(s0); float4 PixelShader(float4 color : COLOR0, float2 texCoord : TEXCOORD0) : COLOR0 { float2 newTexSize = texSize * scale; float4 tex2; if(texCoord[0] * texSize[0] > newTexSize[0] || texCoord[1] * texSize[1] > newTexSize[1]) { tex2 = float4( 0, 0, 0, 0 ); } else { if (method == 0) { tex2 = tex2D(TextureSampler, float2(texCoord[0]/scale, texCoord[1]/scale)); } else { float2 step = float2(1/texSize[0], 1/texSize[1]); float4 px1 = tex2D(TextureSampler, float2(texCoord[0]/scale-step[0], texCoord[1]/scale-step[1])); float4 px2 = tex2D(TextureSampler, float2(texCoord[0]/scale , texCoord[1]/scale-step[1])); float4 px3 = tex2D(TextureSampler, float2(texCoord[0]/scale+step[0], texCoord[1]/scale-step[1])); float4 px4 = tex2D(TextureSampler, float2(texCoord[0]/scale-step[0], texCoord[1]/scale )); float4 px5 = tex2D(TextureSampler, float2(texCoord[0]/scale+step[0], texCoord[1]/scale )); float4 px6 = tex2D(TextureSampler, float2(texCoord[0]/scale-step[0], texCoord[1]/scale+step[1])); float4 px7 = tex2D(TextureSampler, float2(texCoord[0]/scale , texCoord[1]/scale+step[1])); float4 px8 = tex2D(TextureSampler, float2(texCoord[0]/scale+step[0], texCoord[1]/scale+step[1])); tex2 = (px1+px2+px3+px4+px5+px6+px7+px8)/8; tex2.a = 1; } } return tex2; } technique Resample { pass Pass1 { PixelShader = compile ps_2_0 PixelShader(); } } The problem is that programming pixel shader requires different approach because we don't have the control of current position, only the 'inner' part of actual loop through pixels. I've been googling for about whole day and found none open source library with scaling algoriths used in loop. Is there such library from wich i could port some methods? I found http://www.codeproject.com/KB/GDI-plus/imgresizoutperfgdiplus.aspx but I really don't understand His approach to the problem, and porting it will be a pain in the ... Wikipedia tells a matematic approach. So my question is: Where can I find easy-to-port graphic open source library wich includes simple scaling algorithms? Of course if such library even exists :)

  • SIFR 3.0 - Font Size

    - by Nick
    I have been working with SIFR 3.0 for some time now and the font-size never seems to work correctly. I understand the most basic concepts behind SIFR. SIFR runs when you load the page. It does some calculations one the size of the HTML rendered font and then replaces it with a flash movie that is roughly equal to that size. Because of this, you want to style your HTML font to match the size of your SIFR font as close as possible. My problem always comes up when trying to style these two font sizes to match. Let's say I want to use a SIFR font of Helvetica Neue Lt at about 32px. The HTML equivalent is something like Arial Narrow at about 36px with some negative letter spacing. So here is what I do. In sifr.css I'll write: @media screen { .sIFR-active h1 { visibility: hidden; z-index: 0 !important; font-size: 36px; } } Great, that gets the default HTML font the size I need. Now I need to update the flash SIFR font size. So I go into sifr-config.js and write something like this: sIFR.replace(HelveticaNeueThinCond, { selector: 'h1', css: '.sIFR-root { color: #762123; font-size: 32px; line-height: 1em; }', transparent: true }); So right now everything is working great. That is until my h1 text wraps more than one line. For some reason, when the text wraps it only shows the first line. It seems calculates the height wrong. This is very weird because I ran some tests. I took "visibility: hidden" off of "sIFR-active h1" to make sure that the HTML rendered text was the right size. It is, it takes up two lines. However, when the Flash replaces this text it gives it a min-height of one line of text. Odd. The only way I could find to fix this wrapping problem was to remove "font-size: 32px;" from "sIFR.replace(HelveticaNeueThinCond" in sifr-config. The problem I run into then is that it inherits the font-size set in sifr.css. Now the problem is that my HTML text is bigger then the SIFR text. So occasional my HTML text will wrap to a new line before my SIFR text leaving a big white space. So, how do I set two different font-size (one for my HTML text and one for my SIFR) without losing the wrapping. The only time I have been able to use the successfully is when I have a SIFR font that is so similar to a web safe font that they can share the same font-size attribute. Thanks

  • How do i rotate a CALayer around a diagonal line?

    - by Mattias Wadman
    Hi. I'm trying to implement a flip animation to be used in board game like iPhone-application. The animation is supposed to look like a game piece that rotates and changes to the color of its back (kind of like an Reversi piece). I've managed to create an animation that flips the piece around its orthogonal axis, but when I try to flip it around a diagonal axis by changing the rotation around the z-axis the actual image also gets rotated (not surprisingly). Instead I would like to rotate the image "as is" around a diagonal axis. I have tried to change layer.sublayerTransform but with no success. Here is my current implementation. It works by doing a trick to resolve the issue of getting a mirrored image at the end of the animation. The solution is to not actually rotate the layer 180 degrees, instead it rotates it 90 degrees, changes image and then rotates it back. + (void)flipLayer:(CALayer *)layer toImage:(CGImageRef)image withAngle:(double)angle { const float duration = 0.5f; CAKeyframeAnimation *diag = [CAKeyframeAnimation animationWithKeyPath:@"transform.rotation.z"]; diag.duration = duration; diag.values = [NSArray arrayWithObjects: [NSNumber numberWithDouble:angle], [NSNumber numberWithDouble:0.0f], nil]; diag.keyTimes = [NSArray arrayWithObjects: [NSNumber numberWithDouble:0.0f], [NSNumber numberWithDouble:1.0f], nil]; diag.calculationMode = kCAAnimationDiscrete; CAKeyframeAnimation *flip = [CAKeyframeAnimation animationWithKeyPath:@"transform.rotation.y"]; flip.duration = duration; flip.values = [NSArray arrayWithObjects: [NSNumber numberWithDouble:0.0f], [NSNumber numberWithDouble:M_PI / 2], [NSNumber numberWithDouble:0.0f], nil]; flip.keyTimes = [NSArray arrayWithObjects: [NSNumber numberWithDouble:0.0f], [NSNumber numberWithDouble:0.5f], [NSNumber numberWithDouble:1.0f], nil]; flip.calculationMode = kCAAnimationLinear; CAKeyframeAnimation *replace = [CAKeyframeAnimation animationWithKeyPath:@"contents"]; replace.duration = duration / 2; replace.beginTime = duration / 2; replace.values = [NSArray arrayWithObjects:(id)image, nil]; replace.keyTimes = [NSArray arrayWithObjects: [NSNumber numberWithDouble:0.0f], nil]; replace.calculationMode = kCAAnimationDiscrete; CAAnimationGroup *group = [CAAnimationGroup animation]; group.removedOnCompletion = NO; group.duration = duration; group.timingFunction = [CAMediaTimingFunction functionWithName:kCAMediaTimingFunctionLinear]; group.animations = [NSArray arrayWithObjects:diag, flip, replace, nil]; group.fillMode = kCAFillModeForwards; [layer addAnimation:group forKey:nil]; }

  • Set default form textfield value (webbrowser control/DOM Javscript)

    - by Khou
    Hi I would like my application to load a webpage and set default the form textfield value a predefine value. Requirements: -The application is a windows form, it is to use the web browser control, to load a web page. -Textfield values are define by within the application. -When textfield on the webpage matches the applications predefined elements, the predefine fixed value is set and can not be changed by the end user. Example If my application defines element "FirstName" equal to value "John", the text field for value for element "FirstName" will always equal "John" and this value can not be changed by the end user. Below is html/javascript code to perform this functionality, now how do I implement this in a windows form? (without having to modify the loaded webpage source code (if possible). HTML <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <html> <head> <title>page title</title> <script script type="text/javascript" src="demo1.js"></script> </head> <body onload="def(document.someform, 'name', 'my default name value');"> <h2 style="color: #8e9182">test form title</h2> <form name="someform" id="someform_frm" action="#"> <table cellspacing="1"> <tr><td><label for="name">NameX: </label></td><td><input type="text" size="30" maxlength="155" name="name" onchange="def(document.someform, 'name', 'my default name value');"></td></tr> <tr><td><label for="name2">NameY: </label></td><td><input type="text" size="30" maxlength="155" name="name2"></td></tr> <tr><td colspan="2"><input type="button" name="submit" value="Submit" onclick="showFormData(this.form);" ></td></table> </form> </body> </html> JAVASCRIPT function def(oForm, element_name, def_txt) { oForm.elements[element_name].value = def_txt; }

  • CSS: Aligning problem with rounded corners in IE 6/7 but ok in IE8/ Firefox etc

    - by mark smith
    Hi there, can anyone help? I have a problem aligning rounded corners in IE6/7. Basically everything seems to work in Firefox / IE8 but in IE6/7 the left / center / and right divs get misaligned. This basically shows exactly what i am refering to. here is the example in IE8 and everything works ok http://es.drop.io/ern0fye/asset/ie8-jpg And here is the problem (this example is running in IE8 with compat mode set to IE7) http://es.drop.io/ern0fye/asset/ie7-jpg I seem to remember there being a bug in IE6/7 with lineheight or similar but i don't recall exactly. I will paste the CSS and HTML below it is very very simple. Basically there is a left div that holds the left corner image and center div which has a background of RED which is the same as the corner images and finally a right div which holds the right corner image. I would appreciate any input anyone has. Thanks in advance. Here is the CSS .vl-top-left { float:left; width:12px; height:12px; } .vl-top-center { float:left; width: 485px; background-color: #F04A23; height:12px; } .vl-top-right { float:left; height:12px; width:12px; } and the HTML is :- <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" > <head> <title></title> <link href="Stylesheet1.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> </head> <body> <div class="vl-top-left"> <img src="content/images/esquina_sup_izq.gif" width="12" height="12"> </div> <div class="vl-top-center"> &nbsp; </div> <div class="vl-top-right"> <img src="content/images/esquina_sup_der.gif" width="12" height="12"> </div> </body> </html> EDIT Applied also margin:0 and padding:0 on the body and on each DIV but still the left and right div drops down as per the screenshot

  • Microsoft Charting Histogram Zero With Line

    - by Brownman98
    I am currently developing an application that uses chart control to create a histogram. The histogram displays data correctly however I would like to center the data. Right now the Min and Max are automatically set. I would like the graph to always force its to be displayed symmetrically. Here is an example of what I'm trying to accomplish. Basically I would like it to look like a normal distribution graph. Does anyone know how I can do the the following: Get the graph to be displayed symmetrically? Always show a zero line. Here is the aspx markup. <asp:Chart ID="ChartHistogram" runat="server" Height="200" Width="300"> <Series> <asp:Series Name="SeriesDataHistogram" ChartType="RangeColumn" Color="#4d5b6e" BorderColor="#ffffff" BorderDashStyle="NotSet"> </asp:Series> </Series> <ChartAreas> <asp:ChartArea Name="ChartAreaMain" BorderColor="#CCCCCC"> <AxisX TitleFont="Arial, 7pt" LabelAutoFitMaxFontSize="7"> <MajorGrid LineColor="#FFFFFF" Interval="5" /> <LabelStyle Format="P1" /> </AxisX> <AxisY Title="Frequency" TitleFont="Arial, 7pt" LabelAutoFitMaxFontSize="7"> <MajorGrid LineColor="#FFFFFF" /> </AxisY> </asp:ChartArea> </ChartAreas> </asp:Chart> Here is the code behind private void DrawHistogram(List<ReturnDataObject> list) { foreach (ReturnDataObject r in list) this.ChartHistogram.Series["SeriesDataHistogram"].Points.AddY(r.ReturnAmount); // HistogramChartHelper is a helper class found in the samples Utilities folder. HistogramChartHelper histogramHelper = new HistogramChartHelper(); // Show the percent frequency on the right Y axis. histogramHelper.ShowPercentOnSecondaryYAxis = false; // Create histogram series histogramHelper.CreateHistogram(ChartHistogram, "SeriesDataHistogram", "Histogram"); } Thanks for any help.

  • Animating custom-drawn UITableViewCell when entering edit mode

    - by Adam Alexander
    Background First of all, much gratitude to atebits for their very informative blog post Fast Scrolling in Tweetie with UITableView. The post explains in detail how the developers were able to squeeze as much scrolling performance as possible out of the UITableViews in Tweetie. Goals Beginning with the source code linked from the blog post (original) (my github repo): Allow a UITableView using these custom cells to switch to edit mode, exposing the UI for deleting an item from the table. (github commit) Move the cell's text aside as the deletion control slides in from the left. This is complete, although the text jumps back and forth without animation. (github commit) Apply animation to the text movement in goal 2 above for a smooth user experience. This is the step where I became stuck. The Question What is the best way to introduce this animation to complete goal 3? It would be nice if this could be done in a manner that keeps the logic from my last commit because I would love the option to move the conflicting part of the view only, while any non-conflicting portions (such as right-justified text) stay in the same place or move a different number of pixels. If the above is not possible then undoing my last commit and replacing it with an option that slides the entire view to the right would be a workable solution also. I appreciate any help anyone can provide, from quick pointers and ideas all the way to code snippets or github commits. Of course you are welcome to fork my repo if you would like. I will be staying involved with this question to make sure any successful resolution is committed to github and fully documented here. Thanks very much for your time! Updated thoughts I have been thinking about this a lot since my first post and realized that moving some text items relative to others in the view could undo some of the original performance goals solved in the original blog post. So at this point I am thinking a solution where the entire single subview is animated to its new postion may be the best one. Second, if it is done in this way there may be an instance where the subview has a custom color or gradient background. Hopefully this can be done in a way that in its normal position the background extends unseen off to the left enough so that when the view is slid to the right the custom background is still visible across the entire cell.

  • Custom Control Not Playing Nice With PropertyGrid

    - by lumberjack4
    I have a class that is implementing a custom ToolStripItem. Everything seems to work great until I try to add the item to a ContextMenuStrip at design time. If I try to add my custom control straight from the ContextMenuStrip the PropertyGrid freezes up and will not let me modify my Checked or Text properties. But if I go into the ContextMenuStrip PropertyGrid and add my custom control through the Items(...) property, I can modify the custom control just fine within that dialog. I'm not sure if I'm missing an attribute somewhere of if its a problem with the underlying code. Here is a copy of the CustomToolStripItem class. As you can see, its a very simple class. [ToolStripItemDesignerAvailability(ToolStripItemDesignerAvailability.ContextMenuStrip)] public class CustomToolStripItem : ToolStripControlHost { #region Public Properties [Description("Gets or sets a value indicating whether the object is in the checked state")] [ReadOnly(false)] public bool Checked { get { return checkBox.Checked; } set { checkBox.Checked = value; } } [Description("Gets or sets the object's text")] [ReadOnly(false)] public override string Text { get { return checkBox.Text; } set { checkBox.Text = value; } } #endregion Public Properties #region Public Events public event EventHandler CheckedChanged; #endregion Public Events #region Constructors public CustomToolStripItem() : base(new FlowLayoutPanel()) { // Setup the FlowLayoutPanel. controlPanel = (FlowLayoutPanel)base.Control; controlPanel.BackColor = Color.Transparent; // Add the child controls. checkBox.AutoSize = true; controlPanel.Controls.Add(checkBox); ContextMenuStrip strip = new ContextMenuStrip(); } #endregion Constructors #region Protected Methods protected override void OnSubscribeControlEvents(Control control) { base.OnSubscribeControlEvents(control); checkBox.CheckedChanged += new EventHandler(CheckChanged); } protected override void OnUnsubscribeControlEvents(Control control) { base.OnUnsubscribeControlEvents(control); checkBox.CheckedChanged -= new EventHandler(CheckChanged); } #endregion Protected Methods #region Private Methods private void CheckChanged(object sender, EventArgs e) { // Throw the CustomToolStripItem's CheckedChanged event EventHandler handler = CheckedChanged; if (handler != null) { handler(sender, e); } } #endregion Private Methods #region Private Fields private FlowLayoutPanel controlPanel; private CheckBox checkBox = new CheckBox(); #endregion Private Fields }

  • Adding rows to a data-bound DataGridView [Winforms]

    I want to bind a table from a database to a DataGridView, but I want to also add one more row with a sum of the values in the columns with indexes 3,4,7,8,9... How can I do that? Thanks! DataTable table1 = new DataTable(); double brutoUkupno1 = 0; double porezUkupno1 = 0; double doprinosUkupno1 = 0; double netoUkupno1 = 0; double doprinosTeretUkupno1 = 0; double topliObrokUkupno1 = 0; double regresUkupno1 = 0; Connection con = new Connection(); table1 = con.boundTable(month, Convert.ToInt32(year)); //This is method which returns DataTable table1.Rows.Add(null, null, null, null, null, null, null, null, null, null, null, null, null, null); table1.Rows.Add(null, null, null, null, null, null, null, null, null, null, null, null, null, null); dgv2.Visible = true; dgv2.DataSource = table1; for (int i = 0; i < dgv2.RowCount - 2; i++) { topliObrokUkupno1 += Convert.ToDouble(dgv2.Rows[i].Cells[7].Value); regresUkupno1 += Convert.ToDouble(dgv2.Rows[i].Cells[8].Value); brutoUkupno1 += Convert.ToDouble(dgv2.Rows[i].Cells[9].Value); porezUkupno1 += Convert.ToDouble(dgv2.Rows[i].Cells[10].Value); doprinosUkupno1 += Convert.ToDouble(dgv2.Rows[i].Cells[11].Value); netoUkupno1 += Convert.ToDouble(dgv2.Rows[i].Cells[12].Value); doprinosTeretUkupno1 += Convert.ToDouble(dgv2.Rows[i].Cells[13].Value); //Now I am having problems with this below, putting things above to dgv2 : } dgv2.Rows[dgv2.Rows.Count - 1].Cells[0].Value = "Ukupno"; dgv2.Rows[dgv2.Rows.Count - 1].Cells[3].Value = month.ToString(); dgv2.Rows[dgv2.Rows.Count - 1].Cells[4].Value = year.ToString(); dgv2.Rows[dgv2.Rows.Count - 1].Cells[7].Value = topliObrokUkupno1.ToString(); dgv2.Rows[dgv2.Rows.Count - 1].Cells[8].Value = regresUkupno1.ToString(); dgv2.Rows[dgv2.Rows.Count - 1].Cells[9].Value = brutoUkupno1.ToString(); dgv2.Rows[dgv2.Rows.Count - 1].Cells[10].Value = porezUkupno1.ToString(); dgv2.Rows[dgv2.Rows.Count - 1].Cells[11].Value = doprinosUkupno1.ToString(); dgv2.Rows[dgv2.Rows.Count - 1].Cells[12].Value = netoUkupno1.ToString(); dgv2.Rows[dgv2.Rows.Count - 1].Cells[13].Value = doprinosTeretUkupno1.ToString(); dgv2.Rows[dgv2.RowCount - 2].Height = 3; dgv2.Rows[dgv2.RowCount - 2].DefaultCellStyle.BackColor = Color.Black;

  • Displaying FontFamily in Combobox

    - by Torsten
    Hi. My goal is to manipulate the text-styles of my application via DependencyProperties. I got a diagram in which the texts are to be manipulated in size, fontfamily, color, etc. So I'd like to use an interface similar to a rich text editor like Word. I'm using this code in my TextStyleVM http://shevaspace.blogspot.com/2006/12/i-have-some-fun-with-formattedtext_14.html So I have a FontFamilyProperty and a Getter and Setter for it: public static DependencyProperty FontFamilyProperty = DependencyProperty.Register( "FontFamily", typeof(FontFamily), typeof(OutlinedText), new FrameworkPropertyMetadata( SystemFonts.MessageFontFamily, FrameworkPropertyMetadataOptions.AffectsRender | FrameworkPropertyMetadataOptions.AffectsMeasure), new ValidateValueCallback(IsValidFontFamily)); public FontFamily FontFamily { get { return (FontFamily)base.GetValue(FontFamilyProperty); } set { base.SetValue(FontFamilyProperty, value); } } Then there is a ToStyle method, which sets the style for the labels of the diagram, which are to be manipulated: Style style = new Style(); Binding fontFamilyBinding = new Binding("FontFamily"); fontFamilyBinding.Source = this; Setter fontFamilySetter = new Setter(); fontFamilySetter.Property = TextBlock.FontFamilyProperty; fontFamilySetter.Value = fontFamilyBinding; style.Setters.Add(fontFamilySetter); return style; Now this works for a TextBox. The textbox displays the current FontFamily, and if I enter a new, valid FontFamily like Arial into the textbox the FontFamily of the labels are changed. However, what I'd like to have is a combobox, which displays the SystemFonts and where I can choose one FontFamily for my labels. However, the binding doesn't seem to work. Neither the system fonts nor the current fonts of the labels are displayed. The combobox is just empty. This is my xaml: <r:RibbonLabel Content="FontFamily" /> <!--these do not work--> <r:RibbonComboBox SelectedItem="{Binding FontFamily}"/> <r:RibbonComboBox ItemsSource="{Binding FontFamily}"/> <!--this works--> <r:RibbonTextBox Text="{Binding FontFamily}"/> Now, I assume I have to set a different Setter for a ComboBox in the ToStyle Method. But I have no clue, which one. Maybe someting like this: fontFamilySetter.Property = ComboBox.ItemSource; However, if I set that Property, the TextBox still works. So is this the wrong place to start at? I'd also be grateful if someone could hint me to some documentation about using these Style-, Setter-, Binding-key-words, which are used in the ToStyle method, since this is somebody elses code I'm working with.

  • Visual Web Developer 2008 Express and XHTML 1.1 (not applying)

    - by Mike Valeriano
    Hello. I may be missing something since I'm not used to work with IDEs for web development, so please understand if I'm doing something stupid. I've picked a copy of Beginning ASP.NET 3.5 in C# and VB to try and learn this thing quickly. I'm no HTML guru, but I know something about the DTDs and I want to either use XHTML 1.0 Strict or XHTML 1.1 while learning the ins and outs of ASP.NET. Following the book (just started actually), I'm not having any trouble understanding the concepts, since I have a C# background, but what I don't understand is how VWD goes about applying the schema you select for validation. The book explains that the drop-down list on the toolbar is enough to set this, so that's what I did: I've selected XHTML 1.1 (since there is no 1.0 strict option, what I find really odd) and then started the project. The thing is that the code generated automatically for the Default page had the XHTML 1.0 transitional DTD. Every other page added had the same DTD, even though XHTML 1.1 is still the selected schema in the drop-down list. I decided to test it out and there it was: inserting some text in the design view and then applying a bold formatting just inserted < b tags on the code. Changing color does add a span tag with added CSS though. What I want to know is: if I want strict XHTML (or 1.1) should I just code it manually? Or is there a "fix" for this problem (having a schema selected but not applied by the IDE)? Am I missing something really easy and dumb? I have no problem with coding it manually - I actually prefer doing that. The thing is that I really wanna try this WYSIWYG approach for once, since some developers swear by it. Plus I don't know yet if I'll need special tags for ASP.NET, so I think having them inserted automatically should be the best practice. I couldn't find any similar problems around (MSDN, Google, here), and as far as the book goes (up to the point I've read), this is the expected VWD behavior, which I find suspect at least. Sorry for the long text (and poor English - not my primary language). Thanks in advance for any help/tips.

  • IE8 positioning, nightmare!

    Well hi, guess what, I have an IE positioning issue! This is in 8, so god know what's going on in the other versions (checking later) Both the boxes call the same class, why is IE being so difficult? • dhtmlxgrid: getting an xml string of grid data

    - by user823527
    The dhtmlxgrid documentation is saying that I should be able to get a string with the grid data with the serialize feature. mygrid.setSerializationLevel(true,true); var myXmlStr = mygrid.serialize(); I'd like to use that feature to get the updated grid data. But I don't get the xml string. Is that feature not available in the open source version? If I could get a csv string, that would also be OK. But I don't get that either. var gridcsv=mygrid.serializeToCSV(); document.getElementById("mytextareax").value = gridcsv; The html information for the grid is: <a href="#" onclick="savegrid();">Save Grid</a> <textarea id="mytextareax"><rows><row id='r1'><cell>index ... </rows></textarea> <div id="mytextarea" style="width:400px; height: 400px;"> </div> <div id="gridbox" style="width:600px; height:270px; background-color:white;"></div> <a href='#alfa' onClick="ser()">Reload grid with another structure</a> <br> The script for creating the grid is: <script> mygrid = new dhtmlXGridObject('gridbox'); mygrid.setImagePath("../../codebase/imgs/"); mygrid.loadXML("../common/grid500.xml"); function ser(){ mygrid.clearAll(true); mygrid.loadXML("../common/gridH3.xml"); } function savegrid(){ alert('save grid'); mygrid.setSerializationLevel(true,true); var myXmlStr = mygrid.serialize(); /* document.getElementById("mytextarea").innerHTML = myXmlStr; */ document.getElementById("mytextareax").value = myXmlStr; alert(myXmlStr); } </script> Is there any way to get the data out of the dhtmlx grid to be able to create my own xml file from it?

  • iPhone SDK 3/4 App will not run on a iPhone 2.x device even with deployment target set to 2.0!

    - by MarqueIV
    Ok... I know about the difference between the base/active SDKs and the deployment target. I have my base SDK set at 4.0 and the deployment target set at 2.0. I am not using any APIs post 2.x, conditional or otherwise. Since I can't debug on a 2.x device, after building it, I use the iPhone Configuration Utility to install the app on the device, which it does just fine. Problem is, it doesn't run! I just get a blank screen. The main window never comes up! Now before you ask... I had this same problem with the iPhone SDK 3.x. I upgraded to the 4.x hoping it would be solved. It wasn't. Yes the provisioning profile is installed. (Couldn't install the app if it wasn't.) This same compiled app works fine on 3.x devices. Same with 4.x devices. Just not 2.x devices. Again, no I am not using any post-2.x SDKs. To prove this I created a brand-new, window-based app from the 'New Project' dialog and the only changes I made was the background color of the window (to prove the XIB loaded) and I set the deployment target to 2.0 (It's still compiled against the 4.x SDK though.) Again, it runs fine on 3.x or 4.x devices, but just a black, blank screen on 2.x devices. I've tried this on three separate 2.x devices included one freshly restored. I've used three separate dev machines (MacBook Pro with the 3.x SDK, MacBook Pro with the 4.x SDK and a Mac Pro with the 3.x SDK.) Same result every time. I am stumped. The fact that even an unmodified project doesn't run really has me confused. Could it be the XIB file? Did they change the format from 2.x to something newer in the 3.x SDK? If so, how do I set it back to 2.x. (Again, this is just a complete guess.) But I'm really stumped! Mark

  • Sticky Footer Dilemma - so close

    - by fmz
    I have an effective sticky footer solution, but I have a slight conflict because of the need for a background image in addition to the repeating banner image across the top. In order to make the large watermark type image show up on this site I added the following div: <div id="body-outer"> The only problem is that once I add this div tag, the footer climbs up the page, overriding all content in its path. If I remove that div, the footer is as sticky as one could hope. Is there some way to have the background image and the sticky footer too? Here is the basic html structure: <body class="home"> <div id="body-outer"> <div id="container"> <div id="header"> ... <div id="footer"> <p>Placeholder for footer content</p> </div> Here is the css for the sticky footer and the background image: #body-outer { background: url(../_images/bg_body.jpg) no-repeat center top; height: 100%; } body { width: 100%; background: url(../_images/bg_html.jpg) repeat-x left top; } #container { width: 960px; margin: 0 auto; } html, body, #container { height: 100%; } body > #container { height: auto; min-height: 100%; padding-bottom: 140px; } #main { padding-bottom: 0; } #footer { position: relative; width: 100%; background-color: #4e8997; margin-top: ; /* negative value of footer height */ height: 140px; clear:both; } .clearfix:after { content: "."; display: block; height: 0; clear: both; visibility: hidden; } .clearfix {display: inline-block;} * html .clearfix { height: 1%;} Any assistance in sorting this out would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

  • Set default form textfield value (webbrowser control)

    - by Khou
    Hi I would like my application to load a webpage and set default the form textfield value a predefine value. Requirements: -The application is a windows form, it is to use the web browser control, to load a web page. -Textfield values are define by within the application. -When textfield on the webpage matches the applications predefined elements, the predefine fixed value is set and can not be changed by the end user. Example If my application defines element "FirstName" equal to value "John", the text field for value for element "FirstName" will always equal "John" and this value can not be changed by the end user. Below is html/javascript code to perform this functionality, now how do I implement this in a windows form? (without having to modify the loaded webpage source code (if possible). HTML <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <html> <head> <title>page title</title> <script script type="text/javascript" src="demo1.js"></script> </head> <body onload="def(document.someform, 'name', 'my default name value');"> <h2 style="color: #8e9182">test form title</h2> <form name="someform" id="someform_frm" action="#"> <table cellspacing="1"> <tr><td><label for="name">NameX: </label></td><td><input type="text" size="30" maxlength="155" name="name" onchange="def(document.someform, 'name', 'my default name value');"></td></tr> <tr><td><label for="name2">NameY: </label></td><td><input type="text" size="30" maxlength="155" name="name2"></td></tr> <tr><td colspan="2"><input type="button" name="submit" value="Submit" onclick="showFormData(this.form);" ></td></table> </form> </body> </html> JAVASCRIPT function def(oForm, element_name, def_txt) { oForm.elements[element_name].value = def_txt; }

  • ClassCastException when casting custom View subclass

    - by Jens Jacob
    Hi I've run into an early problem with developing for android. I've made my own custom View (which works well). In the beginning i just added it to the layout programmatically, but i figured i could try putting it into the XML layout instead (for consistency). So what i got is this: main.xml: [...] <sailmeter.gui.CompassView android:id="@+id/compassview1" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_below="@id/widget55" android:background="@color/white" /> [...] CompassView.java: public class CompassView extends View { } SailMeter.java (activity class): public class SailMeter extends Activity implements PropertyChangeListener { public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); compassview = (CompassView) findViewById(R.id.compassview1); [...] } } (Theres obviously more, but you get the point) Now, this is the stacktrace: 05-23 16:32:01.991: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(10742): Uncaught handler: thread main exiting due to uncaught exception 05-23 16:32:02.051: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(10742): java.lang.RuntimeException: Unable to start activity ComponentInfo{sailmeter.gui/sailmeter.gui.SailMeter}: java.lang.ClassCastException: android.view.View 05-23 16:32:02.051: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(10742): at android.app.ActivityThread.performLaunchActivity(ActivityThread.java:2596) 05-23 16:32:02.051: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(10742): at android.app.ActivityThread.handleLaunchActivity(ActivityThread.java:2621) 05-23 16:32:02.051: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(10742): at android.app.ActivityThread.access$2200(ActivityThread.java:126) 05-23 16:32:02.051: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(10742): at android.app.ActivityThread$H.handleMessage(ActivityThread.java:1932) 05-23 16:32:02.051: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(10742): at android.os.Handler.dispatchMessage(Handler.java:99) 05-23 16:32:02.051: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(10742): at android.os.Looper.loop(Looper.java:123) 05-23 16:32:02.051: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(10742): at android.app.ActivityThread.main(ActivityThread.java:4595) 05-23 16:32:02.051: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(10742): at java.lang.reflect.Method.invokeNative(Native Method) 05-23 16:32:02.051: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(10742): at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:521) 05-23 16:32:02.051: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(10742): at com.android.internal.os.ZygoteInit$MethodAndArgsCaller.run(ZygoteInit.java:860) 05-23 16:32:02.051: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(10742): at com.android.internal.os.ZygoteInit.main(ZygoteInit.java:618) 05-23 16:32:02.051: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(10742): at dalvik.system.NativeStart.main(Native Method) 05-23 16:32:02.051: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(10742): Caused by: java.lang.ClassCastException: android.view.View 05-23 16:32:02.051: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(10742): at sailmeter.gui.SailMeter.onCreate(SailMeter.java:51) 05-23 16:32:02.051: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(10742): at android.app.Instrumentation.callActivityOnCreate(Instrumentation.java:1047) 05-23 16:32:02.051: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(10742): at android.app.ActivityThread.performLaunchActivity(ActivityThread.java:2544) 05-23 16:32:02.051: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(10742): ... 11 more Why cant i cast my custom view? You can easily set a stroke on a line series like this: <mx:LineSeries yField="apple"> <mx:lineStroke> <mx:Stroke color="0x6699FF" weight="4" alpha=".8" /> </mx:lineStroke> </mx:LineSeries> This will set alpha for the entire stroke to .8 But I want to be able to set a different alpha on the stoke for each plot based on something in the dataProvider. For example the yField in the lineSeries is "Apple" which is how it knows where to plot for the lineSeries. I want to be able to add something like alphaField which tells it what to set the stroke alpha for each plot. so if my dataProvider was: <result month="Jan-04"> <apple>81768</apple> <alpha>1</alpha> </result> <result month="Feb-04"> <apple>51156</apple> <alpha>1</alpha> </result> <result month="Mar-04"> <apple>51156</apple> <alpha>.5</alpha> </result> And I set alphaField="alpha" then I would have a solid stroke from plot 0 to plot 1 and then a 50% alpha stroke from plot 1 to plot 2. How can I do this??? I am looking in the commitProperties() and updateDisplayList() methods of LineSeries and have no idea what would need to be added/changed to make this? I am pretty sure, this class has to use Graphics.lineTo() to draw each plot, so basically it would need to "get" the current alphaField value somehow, and apply a Graphics.lineStyle() with the correct alpha before drawing each line. Thanks!! UPDATE I have gotten much closer to my answer. When I extend LineRenderer I override updateDisplayList() which calls GraphicsUtilities.drawPolyLine() I extend GraphicsUtilities and override the method drawPolyLine() as this is where the line is actually drawn. I can call lineStyle() in here and change the alpha of the line... I still have 1 thing I cannot figure out, from within the drawPolyLine() method how can I access that data that dictates what the alpha should be? Thanks!!!!
