How do I control Google Search Results display properties?

I am putting the finishing touches on a customized Google Search for a site and need a little assistance tweaking the header on the results page. I was able to manage the spacing of the results content with: #results4 { width: 620px; padding: 20px; } However you will notice that the top row of information Results 1 - 10 for search... runs off the right side of the content area. I tried using the following code, but it didn't help: .t td { align:left; } I also tried margin-right and padding but those didn't work either. what is the best way to get that content to move over into the content area? thanks.

Hi friends, I want to print a table in pdf document. I need to use two javabean datasource to populate the data in the table. Zooming to UIView and it's sub-views

Hi, I have a UIView which I can zoom to (as it is set as a subview of UIScrollView). UIView has UILabel, UITextField, etc. If I just zoom to the UIView, then of course label and text field get fuzzy (the same effect if you are zooming to the image file without changing image resolution). To solve the problem I need to increase the font size and sizes of the UILable and UITextField in according to the scale used to zoom in (scale is passed as a param by the UIScrollView). This is where I am getting confused. Changing frame (by increasing it width and height by zooming scale) I get all my elements (sub-views) repositions (because changing frame effects center and bounds) Question: 1. What would I need to do to zoom in to the sub-views and just increase the sub-view sizes while keeping them in the exactly the same position? thanks

Hi, I am using flvplayer.swf player, it is playing the videos,but before playing the video the player has black screen and a play button. When I click the play button the video plays. Is it possible to show a screen-shot of the video with the play button on top, instead of the blank screen? jQuery ajax request to php, how to return plain text only

I am making an ajax request to a php page and I cannot for the life of me get it to just return plain text. $.ajax({ type: 'GET', url: '/shipping/test.php', cache: false, dataType: 'text', data: myData, success: function(data){ console.log(data) } }); in test.php I am including this script to get UPS rates. I am then calling the function with $rate = ups($dest_zip,$service,$weight,$length,$width,$height); I am doing echo $rate; at the bottom of test.php. When viewed in a browser shows the rate, that's great. But when I request the page via ajax I get a bunch of XML. Pastie here: http://pastie.org/1416142 My question is, how do I get it so I can just return the plain text string from the ajax call, where the result data will be a number? Floating Tables Problem Unwanted Space XHTML Strict

Hi I have two floating tables side by side. One is set to float left, the other one is set to float right. The problem is when two table are floating, they both are out of flow so next table comes without any spacing. So I add a width attribute clear:both. Silverlight/WPF: Retreiving the size of a `UIElement` once it has been rendered on screen

I have the following simple piece of code: var canvas = new Canvas(); foreach (var ztring in strings) { var textblock = new TextBlock(); textblock.Text = ztring; panel.Children.Add(textblock); textblock.Measure(infiniteSize); } At this point I would expect any of the size properties (Height/Width, ActualHeight/ActualWidth, DesiredSize, RenderSize) to give me the size of the textblock. None of them do. ActualHeight always gives 16.0 no matter what size font. ActualWidth changes according to the text length but not the font size. I change the font size on the parent container and not the TextBlock itself. I feel like I am missing some basic element of understanding the manipulation of silverlight elements from within the codebehind. The question is: how do I get the real actual pixel size of my TextBlock?

Can't get ellipsis to work on Android

Hi, I have a TextView. I want it to ellipsize if longer than its available width. This does not work unless the input string has no spaces... can anyone provide an example of this working? I've tried different combinations of: singleLine="true" maxLines="1" scrollHorizontally="false" none of these have any effect. Again, if I supply a string that has no spaces in it, then the ellipsis appears correctly. What am I missing? I've tried this on 1.5, 1.6, 2.0, all same problem. Thanks

Why does some images not display in different browsers?

I've unreal problem. I have a site, where are displaying images over an classical <img> tag. All images are loading from the database, where is URL column of the image. My problem is that three of ten images are not display. But if I open the source code and click at the URL of the image, I can see image. In source code is some looks like (just for a simple example): <img src = "http://some.image/1.jpg" alt = "description" height = "140" width = "187" /> But the biggest snag is that Opera displays all images correct, but just in FF, IE, Chrome are mentioned problems. I can not provide a screenshots, because the pages are a bit perverse. How can I show the site where the problem is? Or some advice? Thank you.

Kerning problems when drawing text character by character

I'm trying to draw strings character by character to add lighting effects to shapes composed of text. while (i != line.length()) { c = line.substring(i, i + 1); cWidth = g.getFontMetrics().stringWidth(c); g.drawString(c, xx += cWidth, yy); i++; } The problem is, the width of a character isn't the actual distance it's drawn from another character when those two characters are printed as a string. Is there any way to get the correct distance in graphics2d?

Firefox HTML5 video playback inconsistancy

Hey all, I've got an HTML5 video on a page. When tested locally, Chrome, Safari, and Opera work beautifully. Firefox plays it, but doesn't loop as efficiently as the others. The real problem is when it's tested off a server. Firefox doesn't play the video, but recognizes there is one there. I was wondering if all that open ended three-different-ways syntax can be swung in Firefox's favor. Thanks! How can CSS stop Google Maps loading?

I have a page with a Google Maps div: <div id="map_canvas" style="width: 100%; height: 332px;" ></div> If I comment out my CSS, the map loads fine: if I include the CSS, the map controls load, but the map tiles don't load: there's just a grey background. This is the case even if I put the map div just after the <body> tag, not within any styled element at all. No CSS, it loads fine. With CSS, no map. Does anyone know what could be causing this? I don't quite understand what the problem can be if no CSS styles are being applied to any element that contains the map. If more diagnostics are needed, please let me know, and I'll deploy the broken map onto a staging site, so people can look at the source.
