  • C++ DLL Export: Decorated/Mangled names

    Created basic C++ DLL and exported names using Module Definition file (MyDLL.def). After compilation I check the exported function names using dumpbin.exe I expect to see: SomeFunction but I see this instead: SomeFunction = SomeFunction@@@23mangledstuff#@@@@ Why? The exported function appears undecorated (especially compared to not using the Module Def file), but what's up with the other stuff? If I use dumpbin.exe against a DLL from any commercial application, you get the clean: SomeFunction and nothing else......

    Basically I have dataframe with two columns (target_id and fpkm). I want to keep only those row names in first column that are not duplicated.   • General workflow to allow multiple OpenIDs to be associated with one app account

    I have a (typical?) scenario: that my app's users can use multiple openids mapped to one app account (like stackoverflow). For me the unique thing on the account is the email address, so this binds openids to the profile. Question is, how to allow a user to start using a second openid once one is setup. I am asking as I have read that it is a security hole to allow automatic account openid syncing simply based on the provider-supplied email address as someone could easily spoof someone's email address to create a spoof openid and falsely access the account (how I am not sure) - although this seems to be exactly how stack operates. See options a. and b. below. Problem for me with a. is what happens if the original openid no longer works for whatever reason - how would you set-up a new openid? Would b. be more acceptable if we used email verification? Does anyone have an article detailing a "standard" way (set of user stories) for this - it seems to be an increasingly popular way to authenticate. I have tried to detail this in a rough decision tree... 1. My Site > authentication landing page - user chooses an openid (facebook, google, myopenid etc), redirection > 2. Provider site returns with token (includes user registering a new openid, logging in or is already logged in to Provider site) 3. My Site > use token id to lookup user 3.1 Profile exists? Yes > authenticate. ends. No > 3.1.1 was email address supplied by provider? Yes > lookup user by email address 3.1.1.1 Profile exists? Yes > a. error message - please login with existing openid and associate this openid (from special page) Yes > b. or associate this openid with existing profile automatically. authenticate. ends. However, I also want to use the Confirmable modules reconfirmable functionality Even though I have config.reconfirmable = true set in my devise initializer file the controller doesn't seem to be sending the reconfirmable emails. Any ideas what's wrong?

    What characters are allowed in linux environment variable names? My cursory search of man pages and the web did only produce information about how to work with variables, but not which names are allowed. I have a Java program that requires an defined environment variable containing a dot, like com.example.fancyproperty. With Windows I can set that variable, but I had no luck setting it in linux (tried in SuSE and Ubuntu). Is that variable name even allowed?

    I have tried the merge function to merge two csv files that I imported. They both have the same variable names and data types but each time I run merge all that I get is an object that contains the names of the two data frames. I have tried the following: # ex1 obj <- merge(obj1, obj2, by=obj) # ex2 obj <- merge(obj1, obj2, all) and several other iterations of the above. Is merge the correct function? If so, what am I doing wrong?

  • Windows Server 2008 R2 Print Server - Change Printer Names on All Client Systems

    I have a Windows Server 2008 R2 print server set up hosting out multiple printers to my end users. I would like to change the naming convention for all of the printers hosted on the print server and want this change reflected on the client end. For example: I have a HP4000 printer named "Cottage" on the print server. I want to rename the printer "HR-1stFloor-220a" on the print server and I want this printer to appear on every client system with the new name. Simply renaming the printer on the server automatically creates a link from the old printer name to the new one, so all the clients work but the actual name, from their perspective, has not changed. Renaming the share name also does not visibly effect the end user (though it does update the port information). I would like to have the names of the printers be meaningful information regarding department and location, but this means that when they change hands or move I would need to update this information, and currently I am not seeing a way short of writing custom start-up scripts and remove/replacing them through AD. Is there a simple way of accomplishing this task? Thank you for your help.

    I will not bother explaining my full architecture or reasons for wanting this in order to keep this question short: Is it possible to auto-cc a certain email account any time a Exchange user creates an appointment or meeting in his own calendar? Is it possible using rules? Our Exchange 2007 server is outsourced, I cannot change the configuration or install plugins server-side Preferably, it still should work server-side, because users may use the Outlook client but also Outlook Web Access Is there any other way, perhaps using group policies? My conclusion so far is that the only viable way to accomplish this is to build an Outlook add-on. The problem there is that it will need to be managed for thousands of desktop users and that the add-on will not work when using another client (OWA, mobile). An alternative architecture could be to pull the information from the user's calendar on a scheduled basis. Given that we are talking about a lot of users, scalability is a major issue, this has also been confirmed by Microsoft. Can you confirm that my thinking is correct or do you have any other solutions?

  • Ubuntu Postfix email account with forward

    I have an Ubuntu 12.04 server with Postfix installed. In Postfix installation I used this guide https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Postfix. I didn't go through all of that, just the sudo dpkg-reconfigure postfix part. I have created user accounts to my server and the users home directories contain a .forward file which have only one row the email address to forward to. I have defined dns A records for the names www.mydomain.com and mydomain.com But if I send an email to [email protected] it doesn't get forwarded. Actually I can't see any sign about any email ever visiting my server. My firewall is defined to allow incoming traffic for ports 80, 443 and 22. For outgoing traffic it allows ports 587 and 22. The exact definitions are below. I haven't yet received any forwarder emails into my gmail mail box.

  • Windows Server NTFS volume list file name encodings and any illegal file names

    I'm having to deal with a Windows Server (NTFS) file server and our backup application appears to be failing with certain files. According to this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NTFS#Internals NTFS apparently supports file names encoded in UTF-16 but according to their support team, our backup application only supports UTF-8. I'd like to confirm whether this is actually the problem by seeing the file name encoding for myself. The files that are failing appear to be using plain English A-Z letters and other ASCII characters. No accents or non-English letters etc. I suppose even though the letters appear to be plain A-Z the file name could still be encoded in UTF-16. Does anyone know of a utility or script that can recursively go through all files in a directory and show the encoding of the file name? Then I could try renaming to UTF-8 to see if the backup can proceed. I'm not a Windows developer so can't write this up myself. Presumably the encoding of the file name should be stored in the FS somewhere and therefore it should be possible to expose this.

  • SQL cluster instance names for large project

    We're setting up two clusters. One dev and one prod. The Production will host two SQL instances - a OLTP and a DW. The development will host 4 OLTP non-production environments and at least one DW non-production. We're working on getting more DW non-prods and possibly more OLTP systems. I'm considering a naming scheme like this, where PROJ would be 3 initials for the project name. Dev Cluster MSSQLPROJD1\D1 (DEV) MSSQLPROJD2\D2 (TEST) MSSQLPROJD3\D3 (QA) MSSQLPROJD4\D4 (STAGE) MSSQLPROJD5\D5 (DW) Prd Cluster MSSQLPROJP1\P1 (PRD) MSSQLPROJP2\P2 (DW) To the left of the slash, each name must be unique network wide. On each server, the instance name, to the right of the slash, must be unique. Any thoughts on this? I'm trying to avoid having instance names drifting from reality as the project progresses - say we change what we call a certain environment or want to repurpose one. Then we can update a listing of the purposes for the instances and be done with it. How has a scheme like this worked out for you? Maybe you do things another way in your shop - tell me about it.
