  • Load nsimage from url but only some url's work

    - by happyCoding25
    I have some code that loads an image file off the web and puts it in an image view. The problem is it works with everything but Google Charts. This is frustrating because I was relying on this to graph data for my app. Heres the url I need to load: Click to see my test chart. Im not sure why NSImage seems to refuse to load this when it works with everything elese. If you know why or have a work-around any help is appreciated. Heres some sample code I found that I'm using to load the images: NSURL *imageURL = [NSURL URLWithString:@"http://chart.apis.google.com/chart?cht=p3&chs=700x400&chd=t:20,20,20,20,20&chl=A|B|C|D|E&chco=66FF33,3333CC"]; NSLog(@"url"); NSData *imageData = [imageURL resourceDataUsingCache:NO]; NSLog(@"data"); NSImage *imageFromBundle = [[NSImage alloc] initWithData:imageData]; (Note: This code will load any image except a chart) Thanks

  • Intersection point in silverlight/wpf

Lets say that I want the intersection point between the edge of this figure and a line passing through the center of this figure, at the 30 degrees angle with the OX axe? thanks.

  • How to avoid HTML Canvas auto-stretching

    - by Tom
    I have the following piece of HTML: <style type="text/css"> #c{width:200px;height:500px} </style> <canvas id="c"></canvas> <script type="text/javascript"> var i = new Image(); i.onload = function () { var ctx = document.getElementById('c').getContext('2d'); ctx.drawImage(i, 0, 0); } i.width = i.height = 20; // actual size of square.png i.src = 'square.png'; </script> The issue is that the drawn image is automatically stretched (resized) proportionally with the size of the canvas. I have tried using all available parameters (drawImage(i, 0, 0, 20, 20, 0, 0, 20, 20)) and that didn't help. What is causing my drawing to stretch and how can I prevent that? Thanks, Tom

  • Passing list and dictionary type parameter with Python

    - by prosseek
    When I run this code def func(x, y, *w, **z): print x print y if w: print w if z: print z else: print "None" func(10,20, 1,2,3,{'k':'a'}) I get the result as follows. 10 20 (1, 2, 3, {'k': 'a'}) None But, I expected as follows, I mean the list parameters (1,2,3) matching *w, and dictionary matching **z. 10 20 (1,2,3) {'k':'a'} Q : What went wrong? How can I pass the list and dictionary as parameters? Added func(10,20, 10,20,30, k='a') seems to be working

  • Program contains 2 nested loops which contain 4 if conditionals. How many paths?

    - by Student4Life
    In Roger Pressman's book, there is an example described of a program with 2 nested loops, the inner loop enclosing four if statements. The two loops can execute up to 20 times. He states that this makes about 10^14 paths. To get a number this large, it seems the paths inside the loops are multipllied by 2^40, i.e. 2^20 times 2^20 to account for all the possibilities of going through the two loops. I can't see why this factor is not just 400, i.e. 20 times 20. Can someone shed some light? It will help if you have the ppt slides and can see the program graph. Thanks.

  • Scale GraphicsPaths

    - by serhio
    In a form I draw a graph. This graph has some distinct paths that should have differently drawn. Say AxesPath, SalesPath, CostsPath etc... When I resize the form need I to scale every of components Paths? Take an example: Imports System.Drawing.Drawing2D Public Class Form1 Dim lineOne As GraphicsPath Dim lineTwo As GraphicsPath Dim allPaths As GraphicsPath Dim initSize As Size Public Sub New() ' This call is required by the designer. ' InitializeComponent() initSize = Me.Size lineOne = New GraphicsPath() lineTwo = New GraphicsPath() lineOne.AddLine(20.0F, 20.0F, Me.initSize.Width - 20.0F, 20.0F) lineTwo.AddLine(0.1F, 10.0F, Me.initSize.Width - 20.0F, _ Me.initSize.Height - 0.5F) allPaths = New GraphicsPath() allPaths.AddPath(lineOne, False) allPaths.AddPath(lineTwo, False) Me.ResizeRedraw = True End Sub Protected Overrides Sub OnResize(ByVal e As System.EventArgs) MyBase.OnResize(e) Dim m As New Matrix m.Scale(Me.Width / initSize.Width, Me.Height / initSize.Height) allPaths.Transform(m) initSize = Me.Size End Sub Protected Overrides Sub OnPaint(ByVal e As PaintEventArgs) MyBase.OnPaint(e) ' WORKS ' ' e.Graphics.DrawPath(Pens.GreenYellow, allPaths) ' ' DOES NOT WORK! ' e.Graphics.DrawPath(Pens.DarkGoldenrod, lineOne) e.Graphics.DrawPath(Pens.DarkMagenta, lineTwo) End Sub End Class

  • How do I build a specialized JQuery Timer

    - by Sayem Ahmed
    I have an asp.net page where two grid views are available showing current stock market price updates. I need to update these two grid views every 20 seconds. So I was thinking of using JQuery to do this job. What I need is a timer which will fire every 20 seconds, send an ajax request to the servers, bring the order lists from the server using json and then update those two grid views. If a request to the server is still being served 20 seconds after it is fired, then I want the old one to be aborted without causing any trouble. I already know how to bring objects using json. I just need to figure out how to send a request every 20 seconds and cancel a request if it is still being server for 20 seconds.

  • do.call(rbind, list) for uneven number of column

    - by h.l.m
    I have a list, with each element being a character vector, of differing lengths I would like to bind the data as rows, so that the column names 'line up' and if there is extra data then create column and if there is missing data then create NAs Below is a mock example of the data I am working with x <- list() x[[1]] <- letters[seq(2,20,by=2)] names(x[[1]]) <- LETTERS[c(1:length(x[[1]]))] x[[2]] <- letters[seq(3,20, by=3)] names(x[[2]]) <- LETTERS[seq(3,20, by=3)] x[[3]] <- letters[seq(4,20, by=4)] names(x[[3]]) <- LETTERS[seq(4,20, by=4)] The below line would normally be what I would do if I was sure that the format for each element was the same... do.call(rbind,x) I was hoping that someone had come up with a nice little solution that matches up the column names and fills in blanks with NAs whilst adding new columns if in the binding process new columns are found...

  • Can I use a static var to "cache" the result? C++

    - by flyout
    I am using a function that returns a char*, and right now I am getting the compiler warning "returning address of local variable or temporary", so I guess I will have to use a static var for the return, my question is can I make something like if(var already set) return var else do function and return var? This is my function: char * GetUID() { TCHAR buf[20]; StringCchPrintf(buf, 20*sizeof(char), TEXT("%s"), someFunction()); return buf; } And this is what I want to do: char * GetUID() { static TCHAR buf[20]; if(strlen(buf)!=0) return buf; StringCchPrintf(buf, 20*sizeof(char), TEXT("%s"), someFunction()); return buf; } Is this a well use of static vars? And should I use ZeroMemory(&buf, 20*sizeof(char))? I removed it because if I use it above the if(strlen...) my TCHAR length is never 0, should I use it below?

  • Counting Values in R Vector

    - by GTyler
    I have a large vector of percentages (0-100) and I am trying to count how many of them are in specific 20% buckets (<20, 20-40, 40-60,60-80,80-100). The vector has length 129605 and there are no NA values. Here's my code: x<-c(0,0,0,0,0) for(i in 1: length(mail_return)) { if (mail_return[i]<=20) { x[1] = x[1] + 1 } if (mail_return[i]>20 && mail_return[i]<=40) { x[2] = x[2] + 1 } if (mail_return[i]>40 && mail_return[i]<=60) { x[3] = x[3] + 1 } if (mail_return[i]>60 && mail_return[i]<=80) { x[4] = x[4] + 1 } else { x[5] = x[5] + 1 } } But sum(x) is giving me length 133171. Shouldn't it be the length of the vector, 129605? What's wrong?

  • Aligning textboxes via HTML

    - by Garry
    Here is my code: Classroom name: <input type="text" name="txtClassroomName" size="20"><br> School name: <input type="text" name="txtSchoolName" size="20"><br> School contact email address: <input type="text" name="txtSchoolEmail" size="20"><br> School address: <input type="text" name="txtSchoolAddress" size="20"><br> School telephone number: <input type="text" name="txtTelephoneNumber" size="20"><br> As you can probably guess, this code displays some text and then has some textboxes after this text. My question is this: I am wanting to align all the texboxes so that they are aligned. I have added spaces after the text, yet the textboxes just appear straight after the text, ignoring the spaces that I entered. What is the best, most effective way to do this? Maybe a table? thanks

  • Httpd problem, suspect an attack but not sure

    - by Bob
    On one of my servers when I type netstat -n I get a huge output, something like 400 entries for httpd. The bandwidth on the server isn't high, so I'm confused as to what's causing it. I'm suspecting an attack, but not sure. Intermittently, the web server will stop responding. When this happens all other services such as ping, ftp, work just normally. System load is also normal. The only thing that isn't normal I think is the "netstat -n" output. Can you guys take a look and see if there's something I can do? I have APF installed, but not sure what rules I should put into place to mitigate the problem. Btw, I'm running CentOS 5 Linux with Apache 2. root@linux [/backup/stuff/apf-9.7-1]# netstat -n|grep :80 tcp 0 0 120.136.23.56:80 220.181.94.220:48397 TIME_WAIT tcp 0 0 120.136.23.56:80 • Project Euler 17: (Iron)Python

    - by Ben Griswold
    In my attempt to learn (Iron)Python out in the open, here’s my solution for Project Euler Problem 17.  As always, any feedback is welcome. # Euler 17 # http://projecteuler.net/index.php?section=problems&id=17 # If the numbers 1 to 5 are written out in words: # one, two, three, four, five, then there are # 3 + 3 + 5 + 4 + 4 = 19 letters used in total. # If all the numbers from 1 to 1000 (one thousand) # inclusive were written out in words, how many letters # would be used? # # NOTE: Do not count spaces or hyphens. For example, 342 # (three hundred and forty-two) contains 23 letters and # 115 (one hundred and fifteen) contains 20 letters. The # use of "and" when writing out numbers is in compliance # with British usage. import time start = time.time() def to_word(n): h = { 1 : "one", 2 : "two", 3 : "three", 4 : "four", 5 : "five", 6 : "six", 7 : "seven", 8 : "eight", 9 : "nine", 10 : "ten", 11 : "eleven", 12 : "twelve", 13 : "thirteen", 14 : "fourteen", 15 : "fifteen", 16 : "sixteen", 17 : "seventeen", 18 : "eighteen", 19 : "nineteen", 20 : "twenty", 30 : "thirty", 40 : "forty", 50 : "fifty", 60 : "sixty", 70 : "seventy", 80 : "eighty", 90 : "ninety", 100 : "hundred", 1000 : "thousand" } word = "" # Reverse the numbers so position (ones, tens, # hundreds,...) can be easily determined a = [int(x) for x in str(n)[::-1]] # Thousands position if (len(a) == 4 and a[3] != 0): # This can only be one thousand based # on the problem/method constraints word = h[a[3]] + " thousand " # Hundreds position if (len(a) >= 3 and a[2] != 0): word += h[a[2]] + " hundred" # Add "and" string if the tens or ones # position is occupied with a non-zero value. # Note: routine is broken up this way for [my] clarity. if (len(a) >= 2 and a[1] != 0): # catch 10 - 99 word += " and" elif len(a) >= 1 and a[0] != 0: # catch 1 - 9 word += " and" # Tens and ones position tens_position_value = 99 if (len(a) >= 2 and a[1] != 0): # Calculate the tens position value per the # first and second element in array # e.g. (8 * 10) + 1 = 81 tens_position_value = int(a[1]) * 10 + a[0] if tens_position_value <= 20: # If the tens position value is 20 or less # there's an entry in the hash.   • I'm an idiot/blind and I can't find why I'm getting a list index error. Care to take a look at these 20 or so lines?

    - by Meff
    Basically it's supposed to take a set of coordinates and return a list of coordinates of it's neighbors. However, when it hits here:if result[i][0] < 0 or result[i][0] >= board.dimensions: result.pop(i) when i is 2, it gives me an out of index error. I can manage to have it print result[2][0] but at the if statement it throws the errors. I have no clue how this is happening and if anyone could shed any light on this problem I'd be forever in debt. def neighborGen(row,col,board): """ returns lists of coords of neighbors, in order of up, down, left, right """ result = [] result.append([row-1 , col]) result.append([row+1 , col]) result.append([row , col-1]) result.append([row , col+1]) #prune off invalid neighbors (such as (0,-1), etc etc) for i in range(len(result)): if result[i][0] < 0 or result[i][0] >= board.dimensions: result.pop(i) if result[i][1] < 0 or result[i][1] >= board.dimensions: result.pop(i) return result

  • How can I pass an arbitrary object to jasper report as parameter?

    - by spderosso
    Hi, I would like to pass as a parameter to my .jrxml an arbitrary object of my domain, e.g a Person. InputStream reportFile = MyPage.this.getClass().getResourceAsStream("test.jrxml"); HashMap<String, Person> parameters = new HashMap<String, Person>(); parameters.put("person", new Person("John", "Doe")); ... JasperReport report = JasperCompileManager.compileReport(reportFile); JasperPrint print = JasperFillManager.fillReport(report, parameters, new JREmptyDataSource()); return JasperExportManager.exportReportToPdf(print); And on the .jrxml do something like: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <jasperReport xmlns="http://jasperreports.sourceforge.net/jasperreports" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://jasperreports.sourceforge.net/jasperreports http://jasperreports.sourceforge.net/xsd/jasperreport.xsd" name="test" pageWidth="595" pageHeight="842" columnWidth="555" leftMargin="20" rightMargin="20" topMargin="20" bottomMargin="20"> <property name="ireport.zoom" value="1.0"/> <property name="ireport.x" value="0"/> <property name="ireport.y" value="0"/> <parameter name="PERSON" isForPrompting="false" class="myApp.domain.person"/> <background> <band splitType="Stretch"/> </background> <title> <band height="20"> <staticText> <reportElement x="180" y="0" width="200" height="20"/> <text><![CDATA[$P{PERSON.lastName}]]></text> </staticText> </band> </title> ... Is something like this possible? Where can I find more complex tutorials that show more than just passing a java.lang.String? Thanks

    I have few queries and am not able to figure out how to optimize them, QUERY 1 select * from t_twitter_tracking where classified is null and tweetType='ENGLISH' order by id limit 500; QUERY 2 Select count(*) as cnt, DATE_FORMAT(CONVERT_TZ(wrdTrk.createdOnGMTDate,'+00:00','+05:30'),'%Y-%m-%d') as dat from t_twitter_tracking wrdTrk where wrdTrk.word like ('dell') and CONVERT_TZ(wrdTrk.createdOnGMTDate,'+00:00','+05:30') between '2010-12-12 00:00:00' and '2010-12-26 00:00:00' group by dat; Both these queries run on the same table, CREATE TABLE `t_twitter_tracking` ( `id` BIGINT(20) NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT, `word` VARCHAR(200) NOT NULL, `tweetId` BIGINT(100) NOT NULL, `twtText` VARCHAR(800) NULL DEFAULT NULL, `language` TEXT NULL, `links` TEXT NULL, `tweetType` VARCHAR(20) NULL DEFAULT NULL, `source` TEXT NULL, `sourceStripped` TEXT NULL, `isTruncated` VARCHAR(40) NULL DEFAULT NULL, `inReplyToStatusId` BIGINT(30) NULL DEFAULT NULL, `inReplyToUserId` INT(11) NULL DEFAULT NULL, `rtUsrProfilePicUrl` TEXT NULL, `isFavorited` VARCHAR(40) NULL DEFAULT NULL, `inReplyToScreenName` VARCHAR(40) NULL DEFAULT NULL, `latitude` BIGINT(100) NOT NULL, `longitude` BIGINT(100) NOT NULL, `retweetedStatus` VARCHAR(40) NULL DEFAULT NULL, `statusInReplyToStatusId` BIGINT(100) NOT NULL, `statusInReplyToUserId` BIGINT(100) NOT NULL, `statusFavorited` VARCHAR(40) NULL DEFAULT NULL, `statusInReplyToScreenName` TEXT NULL, `screenName` TEXT NULL, `profilePicUrl` TEXT NULL, `twitterId` BIGINT(100) NOT NULL, `name` TEXT NULL, `location` VARCHAR(100) NULL DEFAULT NULL, `bio` TEXT NULL, `url` TEXT NULL COLLATE 'latin1_swedish_ci', `utcOffset` INT(11) NULL DEFAULT NULL, `timeZone` VARCHAR(100) NULL DEFAULT NULL, `frenCnt` BIGINT(20) NULL DEFAULT '0', `createdAt` DATETIME NULL DEFAULT NULL, `createdOnGMT` VARCHAR(40) NULL DEFAULT NULL, `createdOnServerTime` DATETIME NULL DEFAULT NULL, `follCnt` BIGINT(20) NULL DEFAULT '0', `favCnt` BIGINT(20) NULL DEFAULT '0', `totStatusCnt` BIGINT(20) NULL DEFAULT NULL, `usrCrtDate` VARCHAR(200) NULL DEFAULT NULL, `humanSentiment` VARCHAR(30) NULL DEFAULT NULL, `replied` BIT(1) NULL DEFAULT NULL, `replyMsg` TEXT NULL, `classified` INT(32) NULL DEFAULT NULL, `createdOnGMTDate` DATETIME NULL DEFAULT NULL, `locationDetail` TEXT NULL, `geonameid` INT(11) NULL DEFAULT NULL, `country` VARCHAR(255) NULL DEFAULT NULL, `continent` CHAR(2) NULL DEFAULT NULL, `placeLongitude` FLOAT NULL DEFAULT NULL, `placeLatitude` FLOAT NULL DEFAULT NULL, PRIMARY KEY (`id`), INDEX `id` (`id`, `word`), INDEX `createdOnGMT_index` (`createdOnGMT`) USING BTREE, INDEX `word_index` (`word`) USING BTREE, INDEX `location_index` (`location`) USING BTREE, INDEX `classified_index` (`classified`) USING BTREE, INDEX `tweetType_index` (`tweetType`) USING BTREE, INDEX `getunclassified_index` (`classified`, `tweetType`) USING BTREE, INDEX `timeline_index` (`word`, `createdOnGMTDate`, `classified`) USING BTREE, INDEX `createdOnGMTDate_index` (`createdOnGMTDate`) USING BTREE, INDEX `locdetail_index` (`country`, `id`) USING BTREE, FULLTEXT INDEX `twtText_index` (`twtText`) ) COLLATE='utf8_general_ci' ENGINE=MyISAM ROW_FORMAT=DEFAULT AUTO_INCREMENT=12608048; The table has more than 10 million records.
