  When asking IE to save an HTML page locally, with the option "Web page, complete", an html file is created along with a folder that contains all associated files (images, js, css etc). An association is created between the html file and the folder, so that when the file is deleted/moved, so is the folder. First, I'd like to know what this kind of association is called. Further, I'd like to know how to "unlink" this file-folder association.

  Suppose I click on a java app's icon, and the app starts normally. How can I find out the path to the java executable that is running the app? Better yet, is there a way to find the exact command-line invocation of java that would have the same effect as double-clicking on the icon? (Note: I'm aware of open -a, and it is definitely not what I'm asking about here. The command-line invocation I'm interested in should begin with java ..., specify a classpath, etc.)

• Does informing your destination hardware impact on ebook convertion on Calibre?

  If I connect my Kindle Fire to the computer, Calibre gives me an option to convert to Kindle Fire mobi format. Is this different from just asking to convert to mobi? I don't want to connect my Kindle anymore, I want to send to the cloud, but I'm not willing to lose conversion quality because of lack of ebook reader information. Of course, I couldn't find the convert to Kindle option without it being connected.

• SFTP logging: is there a way?

  I'm wondering if there is a way to log commands received by the server. It can be all SSH commands, as long as it includes information on commands related to file transfer. I'm having issues with an SFTP client and the creator is asking for logs, but I am unable to find any existing logs. I'm looking to log on both or either CentOS or OS X (although I suspect if it's possible, it'd be similar on both).

  This may sound like a strange question, but I was wondering if there is software available which can emulate the behaviour of standalone dvd-players. I'm currently debugging a DVD we're creating, and I can't afford to go hopping to my house every time to check. • Sleep uses more power than I expect

  When my new Dell laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium and 4GB RAM sleeps (not when it hibernates), it will drain the battery overnight. My old Dell laptop with XP Pro (2 GB RAM) could sleep for days without running out of battery. Is it normal that Windows 7 sleep is this power-hungry or should I troubleshoot my new machine? Edit: I know how to set the different sleep/hibernate settings. That is not what I'm asking.

  Windows Vista introduced ReadyBoost which lets you use a Flash drive as a third (after RAM and HD) type of memory. It occurred to me that I could boost peformance on an old PC here w/ Win XP (32 bit, max'd at 4GB RAM) by putting it's swap file (page file) on a flash drive. (Now, before anyone comments: apparently Flash drives (10-30MB/s transfer rates) are slower than HDD (100+ MB/s) (I'm asking that as a separate question on this forum).

  Every time I plug in my iPhone, iTunes pops up a dialog asking for sync with Yahoo contacts. after I cancel, it pops up again, for 4-5 more times.   I am setting up Untangle in a Sun VirtualBox VM. I plan on using this machine as a transparent bridge to filter and monitor traffic on my network. I'm not sure how to configure the network adapters for the virtual machine under the Virtualbox's "Devices" menu so that it will function as a transparent bridge. • Suppressing iTunes Licensing Agreement for Roaming Profiles

  This application is stored locally from our company image we are testing, but our users are using roaming profiles and each time they log in to a different computer or the main computer they work on iTunes keeps asking them to accept the licensing agreement. Is there anyway to keep this agreement from coming up since they are not storing this information in their profile or on the computer locally?
