  Is there a command that will show which file system (ext3, ext4, FAT32, ...) the various partitions and disks are using? Similar to how sudo fdisk -l lists information about disks and partitions?   For a long time when creating images for my development environment, I had to install the OS and then sysprep.  Only after that would I then create a differencing drive/image that would have SQL Server. So, the thought of having a base/core image for SQL Server as a template was not easily done.  Well, how do things change?  SQL Server 2008 R2 gives us the option now. • What is the most cross-browser/system compatible option for 3d graphics on a web page?

  I would like to develop a bit of functionality for a web site that involves a bit of 3D - the user can move around objects, rotate them and texture them. So far I've looked into: WebGL (in particular three.js) and it looks great, but it's not supported in IE nor IOS. IOS supports the <canvas> tag, but only 2d. It looks like three.js has an unsupported hack to make a 3d thing use the 2d canvas instead without textures, but this looks like a hack. I also considered resorting to Flash which works on most browsers, but that won't work on IOS. What's my best option for doing 3d web graphics on the vast array of browsers and interfaces? At the moment I'm thinking WebGL for web (and ask people to use chrome or firefox, and take the hit on IE) and then maybe write a native app for IOS, but I am not sure if there are better alternatives available that I don't know of.

• Will there be an option in the GUI to change the week-starting day in 11.04?

  This has been problematic for me in Ubuntu since I live in the UK but want the week to start on a Sunday (because that is the system my work use). I've faffed about in the last couple of versions of Ubuntu to no avail (it changes in Evolution but not on the desktop calendar etc.) and don't want to be editing locale files. I understand it's probably an issue with GNOME so are there any plans to implement it with Unity? I find it baffling that an operating system doesn't have such a simple option that even my phones always seem to have had.

• Creating a mySQL query using PHP form dropdowns - If user ignores dropdown, do not filter by that pa

  Hello, I am creating a simple MySQL query that will be built from the user selecting options from 2 dropdowns. The issue I am having is that I would like each drop down to default that if they do not actually choose an option, do not filter by that dropdown parameter. So, if they come in, and simply hit submit without choosing from a dropdown they should see everything. If they come in and pick from only one of the dropdowns, the query will basically ignore filtering by the other dropdown. I tried making <OPTION VALUE='any'>Choose but my query didn't know what to do with the 'any' and just shows no results. Here is my code. Thank you very much for whatever help you can provide. • How to unmount a VHD in Windows 7. There is no unmount option.

  I mounted a VHD file in Windows 7 using the Disk Manager. Once mounted, there is no option to Unmount it. The only thing close to such an option that I can find is if I click the icon in the taskbar notification area that I use to remove USB devices... there's an option to eject the virtual hard disk. However, when I click that, it says that it's in use and cannot be ejected. Even though... it's not in use, I never even browsed the drive. The disk manager is closed... and the only open files handles to the drive (according to disk performance in task manager) is SYSTEM. Ejecting devices cleanly has been a problem since Windows XP, and it sickens me to see it persist into windows 7.

• openwrt uses a single interface bridge?

  My understanding of bridging is that it ties together two interfaces at layer 2. I am looking at a Ubiquiti Nanostation2 running OpenWRT that has an ethernet port 'eth0' and a wifi port 'ath0'. The ethernet port (the 'wan' port) is not part of the bridge and the bridge is just a single interface.   On my MacBook pro, I occasionally use external keyboards, generally Windows ones and things have been fine. Yesterday, I plugged in a new one, remapped the command/option keys so the windows/alt keys were in the same configuration, again, nothing new here. However, this time when I unplugged the USB keyboard, the laptops option/command keys remained switched. More annoying is that if I go into the System Preferences - Keyboards - Modifier keys, remapping the keys to actions does not work. I can use the drop downs to disable any specific keys, but switching the behaviours does nothing. (Cmd/Option obvious, tried remapping anything to caps lock and a few other combinations, no joy. Restore defaults set the configuration to what I'd expect, but the settings are evidently ignored.) So: Any ideas?

  I just purchased an Asus Zenbook Prime UX31A-DH51 with Windows 8. I want to wipe the drive and do a clean install but USB is not listed as a boot option in the BIOS. Does this mean it is not possible? Here is a photo of my BIOS options. This is the only option I get when I click Add New Boot Option. I have tried using the latest fglrx and fglrx-beta. I have loaded 3.6.x kernel. I do not see anything relevant in dmesg, kern.log, syslog, .xsession-errors or Xorg.log. I cannot ssh into the machine when frozen from another machine. I know that system resources not being stressed when the crashes happen. It seems that video and any gaming (very simple graphics games) contribute to the freezes most frequently. However, I have experienced the crash before when just using Chrome. I suspect the crashes are xorg/fglrx related, but I have no evidence to back that up. Where should I look? What should I grep for? What should I try next?

• 12.10 Quantal display issues using nvidiaXineramaInfoOverride

  After updating to 12.10 today, my xorg.conf doesn't seem to be respected by Quantal. Not sure if this is a 'bug' or whether it's just an adjustment I have to make due to changes in the OS. When logging in, it seems Ubuntu is now recognizing only one 3840x1080 screen named "Matrox" and maximizing windows spans them across both screens. In 12.04, this configuration file successfully allowed me to override the data provided by my TripleHead2Go and maximize windows to a single monitor. Any ideas or where to start on trying to debug this? • Jquery dependent dropdown doesn't work in IE

  I have a 3 dropdowns: countries, states, and cities. States and cities are dependent of the previous form and loaded via AJAX. In Firefox and Chrome everything is ok, but in IE (8 in my case) when I select a state, the cities dropdown isn't loaded. It is like IE don't detect the change. It is not a load problem, because I have tested with a simple alert box. Any help will be really appreciated. • JQuery text display problem?

  Kind of new to JQuery and I was wondering how can I state that the users submitted info was saved when they click the submit button by displaying the message Changes saved at the top of the form and then have it disappear when the user leaves the web page and return back to it? Right now my code only displays that changes were saved at the bottom of the form outside of the lists and will not disappear when the users leave the web page and return back to it. • Using javascript to limit survey choices to three unique values

  I'm required to use a limited survey application, and have to adapt the provided code to meet more advanced functionality. I need to create a weighted ranking question, so users can select their top three choices and the data will go into the survey application and be accessible in the survey reports. The application only supports 2 types of questions (text fill & multiple choice) but I can alter the code, as long as it still sends the form data back to the survey application. The code is set up so it will show a drop-down menu of 0-3 for each option. Now I want to limit the user's choices so they can only select one "1" "2" or "3", three choices total. Ideally, if the user already had "2" selected for one option and they tried to select it for another option, it would set the first "2" as "0" or blank. Is this possible to do with javascript? If so, does anyone know of a site that might show code like this, or provide similar enough examples that I could adapt it?   I am trying to create a login page that will send the user to a different index.php page based on their login credentials. For example, should a user with the "IT Technician" role log in, they will be sent to "index.php", and if a user with the "Student" role log in, they will be sent to the "student/index.php" page.
