• not inserting data into database from jsf web module connecting with ejb module..

  hello.. in my application i had taken ejbmodule and web module seprately. in ejb module there is one entity and session bean with remote interface. in web module i had taken jsf and used managed bean for calling method of session bean. and used jsf page with .jsp extension where m had put 2 textboxes and one commandbutton.which mapped to managed bean. my database table has only 2 field. bt when i run the application and entered data then click on button no operation is done.no data inserted into database table. i m nt given any error.so couldn't found any problem.. also dnt knw clear abt faces-config.xml file i had written abt managed bean into tht file.. plz guide me wht will be the actual problem?. thanks in advance.. waiting for positive reply..

• MySQL SELECT WHERE returning empty with long numbers, although they are there

  Alright, so basically the most simple query ever... I've done this a million times... SELECT * FROM purchased_items WHERE uid = '$uid' if $uid == 123 It works fine and returns all data in rows where uid is 123 if $uid == 351565051447743 It returns empty... I'm positive 351565051447743 is a possible uid in some rows, i literally copied and pasted it into the table. $uid is a string, and is being passed as a string. This is something i've done a million times, and i've never had this simple query not work. Any ideas why this is not working?

  I've seen the other examples on this site but I just can't get it to work. I'm trying to generate a random number between 2 user input variables on a form. The numbers will always be positive numbers. min = document.getElementById('min').value; max = document.getElementById('max').value; waitTimer = Math.floor(Math.random() * (max - min + 1)) + min; When min = 5 / max = 10, waitTimer is sometimes returning results like 2, 4 and 28 and so on. What am I doing wrong?

  My friend asked me an interseting question. Given an array of positive integers in increasing order. Seperate them in two series, an arithmetic sequence and geometric sequence. The given array is such that a solution do exist. The union of numbers of the two sequence must be the given array. Both series can have common elements i.e. series need not to be disjoint. The ratio of the geometric series can be fractional. Example: Given series : 2,4,6,8,10,12,25 AP: 2,4,6,8,10,12 GP: 4,10,25 I tried taking few examples but could not reach a general way. Even tried some graph implementation by introducing edges if they follow a particular sequence but could not reach solution.

  i have the following query and its failing in Nhibernate 3 LINQ witha a "Non supported" exception. Its similar to this question but this question was asked over a year ago so i am positive that the answer is out of date.   I'm relatively newcomer on programming as I'm educated a mathematician and have no experience on Python. I would like to know how to solve this problem in Python which appeared as I was studying one maths problem on my own: Program asks a positive integer m. If m is of the form 2^n-1 it returns T(m)=n*2^{n-1}. Otherwise it writes m to the form 2^n+x, where -1 < x < 2^n, and returns T(m)=T(2^n-1)+x+1+T(x). Finally it outputs the answer.

• RegularExpressionValidator always fails, but ValidationExpression works in testing

  I found the answer to this, but it's a bit of a gotcha so I wanted to share it here. I have a regular expression that validates passwords. They should be 7 to 60 characters with at least one numeric and one alpha character. Pretty standard. I used positive lookaheads (the (?= operator) to implement it: (?=^.{7,60}$)(?=.*[0-9].*)(?=.*[a-zA-Z].*) I checked this expression in my unit tests using Regex.IsMatch(), and it worked fine. However, when I use it in a RegularExpressionValidator, it always fails. Why?

• Trying to understand the Zend_Auth OpenId

  I'm using a slightly modified version of the Zend_Auth_OpenId classes to get openid logins from google apps. The results are very positive, as I seem to be getting successful results from Google. I cannot get successful results passed to Zend_Auth, though. For example, Zend_Auth_Adapter_OpenId on line 241: if (!$consumer->login($id, $this->_returnTo, $this->_root, $this->_extensions, $this->_response)) { return new Zend_Auth_Result( Zend_Auth_Result::FAILURE, $id, array("Authentication failed", $consumer->getError())); } The consumer calls login() which in turn calls the private method _checkId() in Zend_OpenId_Consumer. _checkId() always ends in redirecting to the openid server. How is this ever supposed to return a valid Zend_Auth_Result object? I'm pretty close to giving up and trying to implement another OpenId library, but I'm so close to just making this work. I must be missing something so obvious! Maybe I don't understand how openid works exactly, but if someone could help me understand I would really appreciate it.

• RewriteCond simply doesn't work, doesn't check properly if file exists

  Hey everybody. I've been trying to solve this for hours now but came up with nothing. Inside .htaccess, whenever somebody requests an image from a folder of my website, I'm trying to check if a file with the same name exists in another folder; if it does, return that file; if it doesn't, return the file originally requested. It seems so easy but it simply doesn't work. The .htaccess code is as follows: RewriteEngine On RewriteCond /images/blog/watermark/$1 -f RewriteRule ^(.*) /images/blog/watermark/$1 The "RewriteCond" always returns negative, so the image requested is always loaded as is. If I change it to, like, RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -f it always returns positive, so it gets the image from the folder I want - except when the image's not there, generating an error, which is exactly what I'm trying to prevent. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

  Hi everybody, How do you use a php variable (array) inside a mysql select statement? I am designing an auction site and currently working on a page that lets people view a list of all the current bids for an item. I want to display 3 columns: amountbid - the amount each bidder has bid for the item (held in tblbid) bidderid - the id of each bidder who has bid (found in tbluser) total_positivity_feedback - how many users have left positive feedback for the bidder (calculated from tblfeedback) To find the 'amount' and the 'bidderid' columns i pass the essayid URL parameter from the previous page. This works fine. Despite this, i can't display the total_positivity_feedback column for the various users who have made each bid. My mysql query looks like this: select tblbid.bidderid, tblbid.amount, (select count(tblfeedback.feedbackid) from tblfeedback WHERE tblfeedback.writerid = "ARRAY VARIABLE GOES HERE") AS total_positivity_feedback FROM tblbid WHERE tblbid.essayid = $essayid_bids I assume that the only way to accomplish this is to make the variable contain the bidderid's of those people who bid for that particular essay? I can't seem to work out how to do this tho?!? Many thanks for your help

  I'd like to parce a CSS file and add before every CSS selector another selector. From: p{margin:0 0 10px;} .lead{margin-bottom:20px;font-size:21px;font-weight:200;line-height:30px;} I'd like: .mySelector p{margin:0 0 10px;} .mySelector .lead{margin-bottom:20px;font-size:21px;font-weight:200;line-height:30px;} But my CSS file is really complex (in fact it is the bootstrap css file) so the regex should match all CSS selectors. For now I have this regex: ([^\r\n,{};]+)(,|{) and you can see the result here http://regexr.com?328ps but as you can see there are a lot of matches that shouldn't match for example: text-shadow:0 -1px 0 rgba(0, matchs positive but it shouldn't Does someone have a solution ? I don't understand why it's good to have a middleman between the client and the product (object that the client wants). example with no factory: $mac = new Mac(); example with a factory: $appleStore = new AppleStore(); $mac = $appleStore->getProduct('mac'); How does the factory pattern decouple the client from the product? Could someone give an example of a future code change that will impact on example 1 negative, but positive in example 2 so I understand the importance of decoupling? Thanks.

  I'm studying software engineering, and came across this exercise: it asks to write a recursive function in C language that receives a positive integer and an empty string, and "translates" the number into a string. Meaning that after calling the function, the string we sent would contain the number but as a string of its digits. I wrote this function, but when I tried printing the string, it did print the number I sent, but in reverse. This is the function: void strnum(int n, char *str) { if(n) { strnum(n/10, str+1); *str = n%10 + '0'; } } For example, I sent the number 123 on function call, and the output was 321 instead of 123. I also tried exchanging the two lines within the if statement, and it still does the same. I can't figure out what I did wrong. Can someone help please? NOTE: Use of while and for loop statements is not allowed for the exercise.

• Proper chart scaling in Reporting Services 2005

  I'm developing a simple bar-chart in Reporting Services 2005 with a stored procedure as data-source. The values in this graph can be both positive and negative, and can span a very big range, and hence I cannot specify any non-dynamic scale that will work for all scenarios. The problem I'm facing is that the automatic scaling pretty much sucks. I get no line to show where the zero-point is, and the y-scale labels are from top to bottom: 8818 -191181 -391181 etc etc... So my question is, what is the best approach to make the scale more adapted to human reading? Is there any guide out there? Does reporting services 2008 handle this better? Also, moving away from Reporting Services is not really an option. I realize how to put values and expression in the max, min, and the gridline interval fields, although its more of a question what expressions I should put there.

• Android:simulating 1-bit display

  I'm new to Android,trying to build a simple game which use 1-bit black and white display.the screen dimension is 160 * 80,that is 12800 pixels.I created a byte array for the "VRAM",so each time it draws,it first checks the array. The thing is that I am not drawing a point or rectangle for each pixel,I'm using 2 bitmaps(ARGB_4444,I have to use alpha channel,because of shadow effect),1 for positive and 1 for negative.So I called 12800 times drawBitmap() in the surfaceView's Draw method.I know that's silly...But even for openGL,12800 quards won't be that fast right? • Where is the rand php function located? localhost php running, path of default functions?

  I have a local server installed on my Mac (MAMP). My question is, where I can find the php functions in my computer? What is the path to the functions folder? For instance, rand() time() isset() explode(). I would like to se the code to learn of it. I have a while looking for it, but I can't find it. Or is it that is already compiled?   Hello, I feel like I'm trying to do something simple but I am not getting the result I want. I want to display a basic number, that will always be positive. I do not want any leading zeros but I want thousands separators. For instance, for the following inputs, I want the following outputs: 3 -> 3 30 -> 30 300 -> 300 3000 -> 3,000 30000 -> 30,000 300000 -> 300,000 Currently, in an attempt to do this, I'm using the following formatting code: string text = "*Based on " + String.Format("{0:0,0}", total) + " entries"; Currently, the output looks like this: 3 -> 03 3000 -> 3,000 You can see how a leading "0" is added when the thousands separator is not necessary. How do I properly format my numbers? Thank you

• Converting byte[] of binary fixed point to floating point value?

  I'm reading some data over a socket. The integral data types are no trouble, the System.BitConverter methods are correctly handling the conversion. (So there are no Endian issues to worry about, I think?) However, BitConverter.ToDouble isn't working for the floating point parts of the data...the source specification is a bit low level for me, but talks about a binary fixed point representation with a positive byte offset in the more significant direction and negative byte offset in the less significant direction. Most of the research I've done has been aimed at C++ or a full fixed-point library handling sines and cosines, which sounds like overkill for this problem. Could someone please help me with a C# function to produce a float from 8 bytes of a byte array with, say, a -3 byte offset?
