  I have a JavaScript function that loads a flash movie into a webpage div using swfobject.embedSWF(). I want to be able to, alternatively, load a .mov file into the same div, in the event that this is the file found instead of the .swf. Is there a close equivalent to swfobject.embedSWF for the purposes of embedding a .mov file? If not, what is an efficient route to doing this using JavaScript?

When you use XML files in a Flex application and then compile it to upload it in the server, Flex Buidler generates a swf file with the xml data embedded.   When I publish a Flash file that contains any sound (such as a WAV file), I can choose the sound compression method (MP3, raw, ADPCM, etc.). My question is about the mp3 compression and it's licence. Flash gives me the option to compress a WAV file as mp3, but is the licence to use the mp3 format included? I have paid for a Flash licence, does it give the right to use mp3 in my SWF files freely or do I have to pay royalties to someone else?

  I seem to recall that Loader.unload() could once be used to stop loading a swf before it had finished loading. I can no longer find documentation or the blog where I read this. Perhaps it was an unofficial feature. Anyhow, IModuleInfo, returned by ModuleManager.getModule() has an unload() method. If I want to halt loading a Flex Module that is in progress, do I just call iModuleInfo_instance.unload()?

  I have a peculiar problem. My main.swf loads symbols from other swfs at runtime. If I keep all the swfs(main and others) on my server, things work fine. But if I keep all of them on a CDN, one particular symbol won't display occassionally. With flash tracer plugin for firefox I am able to see that all the symbols have been loaded and their z-indices are as they should be. What could possibly be an issue?

  Hi everybody, I've recently started using FDT, for a while I was using FlashDevelop, it had a really handy feature in Compiler options where you can set UseNetworkServices to false which would stop the compiled swf from connecting to the internet and became very useful for running standalone flash apps without security warnings when loading in an external xml file etc. Does anybody know if FDT has a similar function? If there isn't a way, then no worries, I can compile the project in Flash Develop, however it would be best if I can do it from FDT. Cheers guys, Will
