• AS3 mouseX and mouseY values wrong in Firefox

  Hi there, I'm getting some strange behaviour in my Flash movie, only in Firefox for MAC (3.6.2). Basically, the mouseX and mouseY properties of all display objects become massive numbers: < 100000000. This issue only occurs on Firefox, it is not present when the movie is run standalone, nor when it is run on any other browser. The swf requires Flash Player 10, and is written in AS3. It is also embedded via SWFObject, but I tested using the export code supplied with Flash and verified the issue is still present. Has anybody heard of this? Is it a Flash or Firefox bug? Is it a bug at all? Thanks

  I have a flash based game that has a high score system implemented with a SOAP service. There are prizes involved and I want to prevent someone from using FireBug or similar to discover the webservice path and submit fake scores. I considered using some kind of encryption on the data but am aware that someone could decompile the swf and work out how I did it. I also considered using an IP whitelist but since the incoming data will come from the users IP and not the servers that won't work. (I'm sure I'm missing something obvious here...) I know that there is a tried and tested solution for this, but I don't seem to be asking google the right questions to get to it. Any help and suggestions will be appreciated, thank you

  Has anyone been able to successfully implement a service to serve the required socket policy file to FlashPlayer? • How do you draw a line from one corner of the stage to the other?

  I am completely perplexed. I asked this question and it (any mentioned solution) doesn't seem to be working at all. All I want is to draw a line from one corner to the other.   I have a directory structure with the following on localhost: http://localhost/testing/ A directory structure exists inside of testing as follows: /testing/public /testing/public/index.php /testing/public/img /testing/public/css ..etc for the js and swf directories A .htaccess file is inside the testing folder and the contents are as follows: Options +FollowSymLinks RewriteEngine on RewriteBase /testing/ RewriteRule ^public$ public/ [R,QSA] RewriteRule ^public/$ public/index.php?state=public [L,QSA] RewriteRule ^stackoverflow$ stackoverflow/ [R,QSA] RewriteRule ^stackoverflow/$ public/index.php?state=stackoverflow[L,QSA] I am using PHP and inside of the /testing/public/index.php file I wanted to test that the $_GET['state'] is indeed saving the variable. When I try to test out: http://localhost/testing/public $_GET['state'] is not found at all BUT http://localhost/testing/stackoverflow does indeed echo out that $_GET['state'] equals 'stackoverflow'. What am I missing here??? Why is it that I cannot get the state=public in the first link? Thanks for the help!

• How to continuously fade a BitmapData to a certain color?

  I'm drawing stuff on a bitmapData and I need to continuously fade every pixel to 0x808080 while still drawing (its for a DisplacementMapFilter)... I think this illustrates my problem: http://www.ventdaval.com/lab/grey.swf The simpler approach I tried was drawing a semi-transparent grey box on it, but it never reaches a single color (i.e. 0x808081 will never be turned to 0x808080)... The same kind of thing happens with a ColorMatrixFilter trying to progressively reduce the saturation and/or contrast. (the example above is applying a filter with -10 contrast every frame). I'm trying paletteMap now, and I'm sensing this could be the way to go, but I haven't been able to get it... any ideas?

  Hi, I'm trying to run mxmlc in the following manner. mxmlc -load-config+=mycfg.xml C:\\projects\\src\\main.mxml -output myswf.swf In the config file, I want to keep some values configurable, for example the paths of the external libraries. Is it possible to include a property file into the config file and use it as {property_name} in the config file? Or is it possible to pass certain arguments from the command line itself that will override/replace the corresponding values in the config file, like the -D option in the ant command? Please provide your suggestions.

  Hi, I have a website using asp.net mvc in which I need to embed a flash file in view. I am unable to set the relative path for the flash file. Given below is the code I am using: AC_FL_RunContent( 'codebase', 'http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=7,0,19,0', 'width', '487', 'height', '359', 'menu', 'false', 'movie', 'images/butterfly', 'quality', 'high', 'allowscriptaccess', 'sameDomain', 'pluginspage', 'http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer' ); where I copied butterfly.swf in a directory called images. images directory resides in the views folder. If I use code behind( default.aspx default.aspx.cs) in a different solution with the same folder strucuture, browser is able to load the flash file.   I have a simple Flowplayer playlist. First one plays a short clip, which then cuts off, and an image is displayed. • Uploadify uploadSettings with scripData does not work

  Hi everyone, I am sending a file to my Java Servlet via jQuery Uploadify, there are no problems while sending the actual file. But when I try to send some scriptData with file along, to process on Servlet it just does not send anything. • AS2 acts randomly when changing scenes on the first frame

  I have a flash movie containing to scenes: scene1, scene2. I have chosen the order so that scene1 starts first, I was requested to add a functionality to allow flashvars to be passed, if fv_change equals one then scene2 should be the first to appear when the movie is loaded. I have included the following code in scene1 first frame of some layer: this.onEnterFrame = function() { delete this.onEnterFrame; if (isset==undefined && _root.fv_change && _root.fv_change==1) { isset = true; gotoAndStop("scene2",1); } } when testing in my flash environment everything worked fine, when I exported it to an HTML & SWF combo I got random results, I refreshed the page several times and some of the times scene2 appeared and some of the times it stayed with scene1. Am I doing something wrong? what is the correct way to change scene order using AS2 and external data(flashvars for that matter).

  My SMF forum contains posts with video and I want to extract them to show on the Wordpress main page. My current regexp (thanks to SO!) extracts the url of the videos, which I embed using AutoEmbed. How can I use the regexp to look for "src=" for <embed> and "data=" for <object>?

• The height and width properties on my Flex 4 app arn't working

But when I embed the .swf file into a HTML page, the application's background color covers the whole screen, and when the Flash Player Settings message box pops up it is outside of the area I defined in the code above.   Hey all, After the unfortunate realization that Firefox is just not going to play nice with an embedded HTML5 video with my server set up, I've decided to go the JW Player route, since it's compatible with iPads and iPhones. I can get the file to show up on my page, but it's big and heavy. I would like for it to be just the video, no controls. Autoplay and on loop. Can you help me out? • Problem sending php variables to flash game, on facebook

  When I run the app for the first time in a session it works great i get all data form Database(if i logout, and enter with a diffrent account)the swf does not receive the variables. If i run manually the script typing the url address in the browser (typing: http://myserver.com/app/variables.php), and refresh the facebook app, it receives the data perfectly.How can i fix this?I used the URLVariables, URLRequest and flashvars but still with no succes.I asked for help on many forums but without succes, apparently there are many in my situation.Could this porblem be due the fact tha facebook does not allow flash to talk outside? Any help would be highly apreciated!Thanks!!

I basically have my swf embedded on a page that has a java script function that calls the facebook share dialogue. • Flex 3: Embedding MovieClip Symbol to Image Control programmatically

  I've reviewed all the documentation and Google results surrounding this and I think I have everything setup correctly. My problem is that the symbol is not appearing in my app. I have a MovieClip symbol that I've embedded to my Flex Component. I need to create a new Image control for each item from my dataProvider and assign this embedded symbol as the Image's source. I thought it was simple but apparently not.
