• Youtube API - How to limit results for pagination?

  I want to grab a user's uploads (ie: BBC) and limit the output to 10 per page. Whilst I can use the following URL: http://gdata.youtube.com/feeds/api/users/bbc/uploads/?start-index=1&max-results=10 The above works okay. I want to use the query method instead: The Zend Framework docs: http://framework.zend.com/manual/en/zend.gdata.youtube.html State that I can retrieve videos uploaded by a user, but ideally I want to use the query method to limit the results for a pagination. The query method is on the Zend framework docs (same page as before under the title 'Searching for videos by metadata') and is similar to this: [code] $yt = new Zend_Gdata_YouTube(); $query = $yt-newVideoQuery(); $query-setTime('today'); $query-setMaxResults(10); $videoFeed = $yt-getUserUploads( NULL, $query ); // Output print ''; foreach($videoFeed as $video): print '' . $video-title . • HRESULT of 0x806D0005 from Microsoft's Dia2Lib

  I'm trying to read a PDB file into a C# application. When I call loadDataFromPdb or loadAndValidateDataFromPdb with a file that I know exists, I get an HRESULT of 0x806D0005. Unfortunately, I have no idea what that means. I have the list of possible results [here](http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/2008hf0e(v=VS.80).aspx) but I'm afraid I can't conclusively determine the problem. Does anybody know what I'm doing wrong? Or at least a method of checking what that corresponds to? • Spoofing UserAgent in Opera

  I'm trying to spoof Opera (under linux) to be an other browser, in this case iPad for some testing purposes. Now I know sites can check which browser is accessing the using for example in PHP $useragent = $_SERVER['HTTP_USER_AGENT']; and in javascript navigator.userAgent (or navigator.platform). In firefox you can use an addon to easily switch your useragent and other relevant information, but in Opera it seems it bit hard to do. First in opera.ini you can do: [User Agent] Spoof UserAgent ID=1 But this is limited to a predefined list of UserAgents. No room for custom ones. Also in opera.ini [ISP] Id=iPad This will add iPad to the User Agent of Opera. It's a start and works most of the time on the sites. In opera.ini you can set a 'User JavaScript file' to load a custom JavaScript file before loading a website: [User Prefs] User JavaScript File=/opera_dir/userjs/load.js In load.js you can do: navigator.userAgent = "Mozilla/5.0 (iPad; U; CPU OS 3_2 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/531.21.10 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0.4 Mobile/7B334b Safari/531.21.10" Because this file gets executed before loading the website I can modify the UserAgent, but this won't work when a site is checking the UserAgent via PHP, but it works for sites checking with Javascript) So here's my question: is there another way of spoofing a complete custom UserAgent?

• How to stream partial content with ASP.NET MVC FileStreamResult

  We're using a FileStreamResult to provide video data to a Silverlight MediaElement based video player: public ActionResult Preview(Guid id) { return new FileStreamResult( Services.AssetStore.GetStream(id, ContentType.Preview), "application/octet-stream"); } Unfortunately, the Silverlight video player downloads the entire video file before it starts playing. This behavior is expected as our Preview Action does not support downloading partial content. (side note: if the file is hosted in an IIS virtual directory we can start playback at any location in the video while it is still downloading. however for security and auditing reasons we can't provide a direct download link. so this is not an option.) How can we improve the Controller Action to support partial HTTP content? I assume we first have to inform the client that we support it (adding an "Accept-Ranges:bytes" header to a HEAD request), then we have to evaluate the HTTP "Range" header and stream the requested file range with a response code of 206. Will that work with ASP.NET MVC hosted on IIS6? Is there already some code available? • HTML5 video (mp4 and ogv) problems in Safari and Firefox - but Chrome is all good

  Hi folks, I have the following code: <video width="640" height="360" controls id="video-player" poster="/movies/poster.png"> <source src="/movies/640x360.m4v" type='video/mp4; codecs="avc1.42E01E, mp4a.40.2"'> <source src="/movies/640x360.ogv" type='video/ogg; codecs="theora, vorbis"'> </video> I'm using Rails (Mongrel in development and Mongrel+Apache in production). Chrome (Mac and Win) can play either file (tested by one then the other source tags) whether locally or from my production servers. Safari (Mac and Win) can play the mp4 file fine locally but not from production. Firefox 3.6 won't play the video in either OS. I just get a grey cross in the middle of the video player area. I've made sure that both Mongrel and Apache in each case have the right MIME types set. From Chrome's results I know there is nothing inherently wrong with my video files or the way the files are being asked for or delivered. Anyone got any clues? Or even a clue as to how to diagnose the problem? For Firefox I looked at https://developer.mozilla.org/En/Using_audio_and_video_in_Firefox where it refers to an 'error' event and an 'error' attribute. It seems the 'error' event is thrown pretty well straightaway and at that time there is no error attribute. Very helpful... :( Help enormously appreciated! Thanks in advance... Chris

• How to scrape a _private_ google group?

  Hi there, I'd like to scrape the discussion list of a private google group. It's a multi-page list and I might have to this later again so scripting sounds like the way to go. Since this is a private group, I need to login in my google account first. Unfortunately I can't manage to login using wget or ruby Net::HTTP. Surprisingly google groups is not accessible with the Client Login interface, so all the code samples are useless. My ruby script is embedded at the end of the post. The response to the authentication query is a 200-OK but no cookies in the response headers and the body contains the message "Your browser's cookie functionality is turned off. Please turn it on." I got the same output with wget. See the bash script at the end of this message. I don't know how to workaround this. am I missing something? Any idea? Thanks in advance. • How to manage Javascript modules in django templates?

  Lets say we want a library of javascript-based pieces of functionality (I'm thinking jquery): For example: an ajax dialog a date picker a form validator a sliding menu bar an accordian thingy There are four pieces of code for each: some Python, CSS, JS, & HTML. What is the best way to arrange all these pieces so that: each javascript 'module' can be neatly reused by different views the four bits of code that make up the completed function stay together the css/js/html parts appear in their correct places in the response common dependencies between modules are not repeated (eg: a javascript file in common) x-------------- It would be nice if, or is there some way to ensure that, when called from a templatetag, the templates respected the {% block %} directives. Thus one could create a single template with a block each for CSS, HTML, and JS, in a single file. Invoke that via a templatetag which is called from the template of whichever view wants it. That make any sense. Can that be done some way already? My templatetag templates seem to ignore the {% block %} directives. x-------------- There's some very relevant gasbagging about putting such media in forms here http://docs.djangoproject.com/en/dev/topics/forms/media/ which probably apply to the form validator and date picker examples.

• zend gdata google base getting link url and parsing xml with object oriented php

  Hi, So I am using Zend frameworks Gdata extension to parse xml data from google base. http://framework.zend.com/manual/en/zend.gdata.gbase.html Working fine minus one damn important thing I cant seem to parse, the link to the actual page, because there are two elements and its returned as an array. Anyways Ive tried vardumping the array but what comes out didnt help me figure out what was going on any better. So heres the specifics of the issue. echo $entry->title->text."<br />".$entry->id->text."<br />".$entry->content->text."<br />".$entry->author[0]->name."<br />"; (the above code works fine). Now according to the documentation I thought I could get the link href by going $entry-link-text or $entry-link-url (tried both, neither worked). Anyways, Im not sure whether this is zend specific or just a gap in my OOP understanding, but any help would be much appreciated!

• What is the scope of CONTEXT_INFO in SQL Server?

  I am using CONTEXT_INFO to pass a username to a delete trigger for the purposes of an audit/history table. I'm trying to understand the scope of CONTEXT_INFO and if I am creating a potential race condition. Each of my database tables has a stored proc to handle deletes. The delete stored proc takes userId as an parameter, and sets CONTEXT_INFO to the userId. My delete trigger then grabs the CONTEXT_INFO and uses that to update an audit table that indicates who deleted the row(s). The question is, if two deletes sprocs from different users are executing at the same time, can CONTEXT_INFO set in one of the sprocs be consumed by the trigger fired by the other sproc? I've seen this article http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms189252.aspx but I'm not clear on the scope of sessions and batches in SQL Server which is key to the article being helpful! I'd post code, but short on time at the moment. I'll edit later if this isn't clear enough. Thanks in advance for any help.

• MSTest project can't get localized string?

  I ran into a strange problem. In my unit test, I want to check the localized strings. However, I can't seem to get it work. For example, I created two resources: Resource1.resx for English and Resource1.zh-CN.resx for Chinese. The unit test project can only get the (default?) English resource string. This is the code I'm using: ResourceManager actual = new ResourceManager(typeof(LocaleTest.Properties.Resource1)); string name0 = actual.GetString("Name", new CultureInfo("en-US")); string name1 = actual.GetString("Name", new CultureInfo("zh-CN")); I created another regular project (means not a MSTest project) to make sure the localized strings are working. So, it works in a regular project, but not in a MSTest project. It didn't help even if I put the following code to make 'zh-CN' as the current culture of the unit test: [TestInitialize()] public void MyTestInitialize() { Thread.CurrentThread.CurrentCulture = new CultureInfo("zh-CN"); Thread.CurrentThread.CurrentUICulture = new CultureInfo("zh-CN"); } Anybody has seen similar problems? Is there any workaround?

• ICollectionView.SortDescriptions sort does not work if underlying DataTable has zero rows

  We have a WPF app that has a DataGrid inside a ListView. private DataTable table_; We do a bunch or dynamic column generation ( depending on the report we are showing ) We then do the a query and fill the DataTable row by row, this query may or may not have data.( not the problem, an empty grid is expected ) We set the ListView's ItemsSource to the DefaultView of the DataTable. lv.ItemsSource = table_.DefaultView; We then (looking at the user's pass usage of the app, set the sort on the column) Sort Method below: private void Sort(string sortBy, ListSortDirection direction) { ICollectionView dataView = CollectionViewSource.GetDefaultView(lv.ItemsSource); dataView.SortDescriptions.Clear(); var sd = new SortDescription(sortBy, direction); dataView.SortDescriptions.Add(sd); dataView.Refresh(); } In the Zero DataTable rows scenario, the sort does not "hold"? and if we dynamically add rows they will not be in sorted order. If the DataTable has at-least 1 row when the sort is applied, and we dynamically add rows to the DataTable, the rows com in sorted correctly. I have built a standalone app that replicate this... It is an annoyance and I can add a check to see if the DataTable was empty, and re-apply the sort... Anyone know whats going on here, and am I doing something wrong? • DataTable.Select Behaves Strangely Using ISNULL Operator on NULL DateTime Column

  I have a DataTable with a DateTime column, "DateCol", that can be DBNull. The DataTable has one row in it with a NULL value in this column. I am trying to query rows that have either DBNull value in this column or a date that is greater than today's date. Today's date is 5/11/2010. I built a query to select the rows I want, but it did not work as expected. The query was: string query = "ISNULL(DateCol, '" + DateTime.MaxValue + "'") > "' + DateTime.Today "'" This results in the following query: "ISNULL(DateCol, '12/31/9999 11:59:59 PM') > '5/11/2010'" When I run this query, I get no results. It took me a while to figure out why. What follows is my investigation in the Visual Studio immediate window: > dt.Rows.Count 1 > dt.Rows[0]["DateCol"] {} > dt.Rows[0]["DateCol"] == DBNull.Value true > dt.Select("ISNULL(DateCol,'12/31/9999 11:59:59 PM') > '5/11/2010'").Length 0 <-- I expected 1 Trial and error showed a difference in the date checks at the following boundary: > dt.Select("ISNULL(DateCol, '12/31/9999 11:59:59 PM') > '2/1/2000'").Length 0 > dt.Select("ISNULL(DateCol, '12/31/9999 11:59:59 PM') > '1/31/2000'").Length 1 <-- this was the expected answer The query works fine if I wrap the DateTime field in # instead of quotes. > dt.Select("ISNULL(DateCol, #12/31/9999#) > #5/11/2010#").Length 1 My machine's regional settings is currently set to EN-US, and the short date format is M/d/yyyy. Why did the original query return the wrong results? Why would it work fine if the date was compared against 1/31/2000 but not against 2/1/2000?

  I am using PHPUnit 3.4.12 to drive my selenium tests. I'd like to be able to get a screenshot taken automatically when a test fails. F Time: 8 seconds, Memory: 5.50Mb There was 1 failure: 1) WebTest::testLandingPage fail /home/root/selenium/WebTest.php:32 FAILURES! Tests: 1, Assertions: 0, Failures: 1.   I am trying to put second language on my webpage. I decided to use different files for different languages told apart by path - language/pl/projects.ln contains Polish text, language/en/projects.ln - English. Those extensions are just to tell language files from other, the content is simple php: $lang["desc"]["fabrics"]["title"] = "MATERIALY"; $lang["desc"]["fabrics"]["short_text"] = "Jakis tam tekst na temat materialów"; $lang["desc"]["services"]["title"] = "USLUGI"; $lang["desc"]["services"]["short_text"] = "Jakis tam tekst na temat uslóg"; And then on the index page I use it like so: session_start(); if (isset($_SESSION["lang"])) { $language = $_SESSION["lang"]; } else { $language = "pl"; } include_once("language/$language/projects.ln"); print $lang["desc"]["fabrics"]["title"]; The problem is that if the session variable is not set everything works fine and array item content is displayed but once I change and set $_SESSION["lang"] nothing is displayed. I tested if the include itself works as it should by putting print "sth"; at the beginning of projects.ln file and that works all right both with $_SESSION["lang"] set and unset. Please help.

• Does the WMI event Win32_VolumeChangeEvent work on Windows XP

  I'm trying to use the following c# code to detect the attached/removed event of usb mass storage devices. I'm using the Win32_VolumeChangeEvent. // Initialize an event watcher and subscribe to events that match this query var _watcher = new ManagementEventWatcher("select * from Win32_VolumeChangeEvent"); _watcher.EventArrived += OnDeviceChanged; _watcher.Start(); void OnDeviceChanged(object sender, EventArrivedEventArgs args) { Console.WriteLine(args.NewEvent.GetText(TextFormat.Mof)); } The problem is that this works fine on Vista but it doesn't work on XP at all (no events received). The Microsoft documentation says that this should work (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa394516(VS.85).aspx). I googled for this quite a while and found other that have this problem too. But I also found a couple of articles which claim that this kind of query (mostly in vbscript) works with XP. But I cannot find some offical information from microsoft for this issue and I can't believe that Microsoft have overlooked this issue for three service packs. So my question is: has anybody used the Win32_VolumeChangeEvent with success on XP or can provide a link/explanation why it shouldn't work on XP?

  I have a WCF REST Service which accepts a JSON string One of the parameters is a large string of numbers This causes the following error - which is visible by tracing and using SVC Trace Viewer There was an error deserializing the object of type CarConfiguration. The maximum string content length quota (8192) has been exceeded while reading XML data. This quota may be increased by changing the MaxStringContentLength property on the XmlDictionaryReaderQuotas object used when creating the XML reader.   Defining custom components in Facelets is easy and quick but there's one thing I can't figure out. Is it possible with Facelets to define what attributes my custom component has? I.e: I've created a component which is used in such a way: <blue:modalWindow id="editFeesWizard" width="500" height="440" title="Wizard"> and is defined in taglib.xml as follows: <!DOCTYPE facelet-taglib PUBLIC "-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD Facelet Taglib 1.0//EN" "http://java.sun.com/dtd/facelet-taglib_1_0.dtd"> <facelet-taglib> <namespace>http://blue/</namespace> <tag> <tag-name>modalWindow</tag-name> <source>components/modalWindow.xhtml</source> </tag> </facelet-taglib> Taglib doesn't contain any information on component attributes (id, width, height, title) and IDE cannot therefore check my syntax nor can it suggest attributes while I'm typing.   I am new to jquery and am trying out UI plugins. For some reason this following code does not work, in the sense, it does not render the tabs and it's just a bunch of text. But when I copy the page source and paste it in the html page, and put it in the views folder, everything looks great, so , I assume all the js paths are good.
