  • Setting a Global Doctype

    Is it possible using PHP (I was thinking may the phpinfo file or a php.ini file) or an .htaccess file to set a doctype for an entire subdirectory? Basically, in a nutshell, I'm using a software that uses XSL templates to output data to a set of HTML files. Modifying the xsl:output tag to include the doctype breaks the template and therefore, does not work. Just adding the doctype in the XSL file, breaks it as well. I need the proper doctypes in place for my CSS to function properly, cross-browser. I realize that I could add the doctype to the HTML files after export but, I'm really striving to automate this process. Any thoughts?

Actually i want to split a string with some seperator but without loosing that seperator. when we use somestring.split(String seperator) method in java it splits the string but removes the seperator part from string.It should not happen. I want result like below: Example::string1="Ram-sita-laxman"; seperator="-"; string1.split(seperator); output : [Ram, sita, laxman] but i want the result like :[Ram, -sita, -laxman] is there a way to get output like this?

  • php connecting to mysql server(localhost) very slow

    actually its little complicated: summary: the connection to DB is very slow. the page rendering takes around 10 seconds but the last statement on the page is an echo and i can see its output while the page is loading in firefox (IE is same). in google chrome the output becomes visible only when the loading finishes. loading time is approximately the same across browsers. on debugging i found out that its the DB connectivity that is creating problem. the DB was on another machine. to debug further. i deployed the DB on my local machine .. so now the DB connection is at 127.0.0.1 but the connectivity still takes long time. this means that the issue is with APACHE/PHP and not with mysql. but then i deployed my code on another machine which connects to DB remotely.and everything seems fine. basically the application uses couple of mod_rewrite.. but i removed all the .htaccess files and the slow connectivity issue remains.. i installed another APACHE on my machine and used default settings. the connection was still very slow. i added following statements to measure the execution time $stime = microtime(); $stime = explode(" ",$stime); $stime = $stime[1] + $stime[0]; // my code -- it involves connection to DB $mtime = microtime(); $mtime = explode(" ",$mtime); $mtime = $mtime[1] + $mtime[0]; $totaltime = ($mtime - $stime); echo $totaltime; the output is 0.0631899833679 but firebug Net panel shows total loading time of 10-11 seconds. same is the case with google chrome i tried to turn off windows firewall.. connectivity is still slow and i just can't quite find the reason.. i've tried multiple DB servers.. multiple apaches.. nothing seems to be working.. any idea of what might be the problem?

    At the end of my Python program, I'd like to be able to get a summary of the number of items logged through the standard logging module. I'd specifically like to be able to get a count for each specified name (and possibly its children). E.g. if I have: input_logger = getLogger('input') input_logger.debug("got input1") input_logger.debug("got input2") input_logger.debug("got input3") network_input_logger = getLogger('input.network') network_input_logger.debug("got network input1") network_input_logger.debug("got network input2") getLogger('output') output_logger.debug("sent output1") Then at the end I'd like to get a summary such as: input: 5 input.network: 2 output: 1 Perhaps by calling a getcount() method for a logger or a handler. What would be a good way to achieve this? I imagine it would involve a sub-class of one of the logging classes, but I'm not sure which one would be best.

The class works perfectly, I've tested it directly under a view.. I've implemented the thumbnail class inside the save method of the forms to resize the original images on saving. in my design, I have two fields for thumbnails. I was able to generate one thumbnail, if I try to generate two it crashes and I've been stuck for hours not sure whats the problem.     Hi, I'm very new to ruby. I'm trying to search for any instance of a word in a text file (not the problem). Then when the word is discovered, it would show the surrounding text (maybe 3-4 words before and after the target word, instead of the whole line), output to a list of instances and continue searching. Example "The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog." Search word = "jumped" Output = "...brown fox jumped over the..." Any help is appreciated. Thanks! I have to output very precise results, near the precision of the double variable, and I'm using the iomanip setprecision(int) for that. The problem is that I have to put the setprecision everywhere in the output, like that: func1() { cout<<setprecision(12)<<value; cout<<setprecision(10)<<value2; } func2() { cout<<setprecision(17)<<value4; cout<<setprecision(3)<<value42; } And that is very cumbersome.   • Does MultiThreading in Java takes much time for task completion?

    I have to search for a string in 10 large size files (in zip format 70 MB) and have to print the lines with the search string to corresponding 10 output files.(i.e. file 1 output should be in output_file1...file2--- output_file2). The same program takes 15 mins for a single file. But if use 10 threads to read 10 files and to write in 10 different files it should complete in 15 mins but its taking 40 mins. How can I solve this. Or multithreading will take this much time only?

    I have an array: tokens = [["hello","world"],["hello","ruby"]] all_tokens = tokens.flatten.uniq # all_tokens=["hello","world","ruby"] Now I need to create two arrays corresponding to all_tokens, where the first array will contain the position of each word in sub-array of tokens. I.E Output: [[0,0],[1],[1]] # (w.r.t all_tokens) To make it clear it reads, The index of "hello" is 0 and 0 in the 2 sub-arrays of tokens. And second array contains index of each word w.r.t tokens.I.E Output: [[0,1],[0],[1]] To make it clear it reads,the index of hello 0,1. I.E "hello" is in index 0 and 1 of tokens array. Cheers!

  • jQuery wait for ajax call to be over before continuing

    Hi all, I have a problem with a jQuery ajax call. I need to wait for the call to be finished in order to return a value. However, the script seems to jump ahead and not wait for the call to be over. my function then returns "undefined". I have tried to use the .ajax() method and set the value of async to false, but this would not work either. I could I get my function to return the value that I could through the ajax call?     I've got a git repository with plenty of commits that are under no particular branch, I can git show them but when I try to list branches that contain them, it reports back nothing: I thought this is the dangling commits/tree issue (as a result of -D branch), so I pruned the repo, but I still see the case after that: $ git fetch origin $ git fsck --unreachable $ git fsck No output, nothing dangling (right?) $ git show 793db7f272ba4bbdd1e32f14410a52a412667042 commit 793db7f272ba4bbdd1e32f14410a52a412667042 Author: .. But $ git branch --contains 793db7f272ba4bbdd1e32f14410a52a412667042 Gives no output What exactly is the state of that commit? How can I list all commits with similar state, How can I delete commits like those?

But now I would like to output the result of applying an external stylesheet to those files. I would write something like <div> <something like xsl-transform($extern-xslt,$path)> </div> to have the result tree of the transformation inside the main html output. It is possible?

  • Rails streaming file download

    I'm trying to implement a file download with Rails. I want to eventually migrate this code to using S3 to serve the file. I've copied the Rails send_file code almost verbatim and I cannot seem to get it to stream a file to the user. What happens is that it sends 'a' file to the user, but the downloaded file itself simply contains the text.inspect of the Proc: # What am I doing wrong here? options = {} options[:length] = File.size(file.path) options[:filename] = File.basename(file.path) send_file_headers! options render :status => 200, :text => Proc.new { |response, output| len = 4096 File.open(file.path, 'rb') do |fh| while buf = fh.read(len) output.write(buf) end end } Ps: I've read in a number of other posts that it's not advisable to send files through the Rails stack, and if possible serve using the web server, or in the case of S3 use the hashed URL it can provide. Yes, we really do want to serve the file through the Rails stack.

The problem is that I would like to order them ascending by distance which is the result of equation that takes homelat and homelon from the users table and lat, lng from locations table.(basically it takes lattitude and longitude of one point and another and computes the distance between these points).     Hi, I am trying to get a text representation of a variable's name. For instance, this would be the function I am looking for: $abc = '123'; $var_name = &get_var_name($abc); #returns '$abc' I want this because I am trying to write a debug function that recursively outputs the contents of a passed variable, I want it to output the variable's name before hand so if I call this debug function 100 times in succession there will be no confusion as to which variable I am looking at in the output. I have heard of Data::Dumper and am not a fan. If someone can tell me how to if it's possible get a string of a variable's name, that would be great. Thanks!
