• How can I deal with the ICE60 warning in WiX?

  Good Afternoon, I have created a WiX project that installs a bunch of different EXEs and DLLs. Unfortunatly when I build the project I receive the following warning for each one of them: ICE60: The file fileName is not a Font, and its version is not a companion file reference. It should have a language specified in the Language column. I have found examples and possible solutions for this and each time it is suggested to set the DefaultLanguage tag to 0 in order to fix the warning. Once doing that I then get this warning: The DefaultLanguage '0' was used for file 'fileName' which has no language or version. For unversioned files, specifying a value for DefaultLanguage is not neccessary and it will not be used when determining file versions. Remove the DefaultLanguage attribute to eliminate this warning. So this leads me to the question of how can I handle this warning? Thanks in advance for any and all help given.

  I'm trying to use CFBundleDocumentTypes to associate a custom file extension with my application. As far as I can tell, this seems to "work" -- my application launches when I double click the file. However, no callback is registered through the ApplicationListener events I setup in java. I used the code listed in http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1460193/set-default-file-association-mac-os-x-java-package-maker-installer to do the file association, and the file association itself appears fine, but it seems as if it is the application stub trying to launch the file, and thus fails. I added the Apple ApplicatinListener code to my java application at (similar to http://developer.apple.com/mac/library/documentation/Java/Reference/1.5.0/appledoc/api/index.html?com/apple/eawt/Application.html) but it doesn't seem like my application ever gets a call back. the code is similar to Application.getApplicatin().addApplicationListener( new ApplicationAdapter() { public void handleOpenFile(ApplicationEvent evt) { //some logging message here that I never get} }); Any help would be appreciated

• Operating System Widget Side Project

  I want to start on a side project and here's my idea: Whenever the user's mouse is pressed down, I want a small ring around the cursor to show up. I'm mainly doing this to learn more about programming and get myself to think outside of work related materials. My questions are: 1) is there a good source I can reference to start a project that deals with something like this? 2) Is visual studio a sufficient software to create such an application? • Call AppDelegate Method from Class

  Basically, I need to call a method in my AppDelegate from one of my view controller classes. Currently, I'm doing the following: myAppDelegate *appDelegate = (myAppDelegate *)[[UIApplication sharedApplication] delegate]; [appDelegate doMethod]; And including the myAppDelegate.h at the top of the .m file of the class: #import "myAppDelegate.h" When I run it, everything works... But I get the following warning: warning 'myAppDelegate' may not respond to '-doMethod' Is there another way that I should reference the app delegate? Thanks for any help in advance.

• Spring & Hibernate SessionFactory - recovery from a down server

  So pre spring, we used version of HibernateUtil that cached the SessionFactory instance if a successful raw JDBC connection was made, and threw SQLException otherwise. This allowed us to recover from initial setup of the SessionFactory being "bad" due to authentication or server connection issues. We moved to Spring and wired things in a more or less classic way with the LocalSessionFactoryBean, the C3P0 datasource, and various dao classes which have the SessionFactory injected. Now, if the SQL server appears to not be up when the web app runs, the web app never recovers. All access to the dao methods blow up because a null sessionfactory gets injected. (once the sessionfactory is made properly, the connection pool mostly handles the up/down status of the sql server fine, so recovery is possible) Now, the dao methods are wired by default to be singletons, and we could change them to prototype. I don't think that will fix the matter though - I believe the LocalSessionFactoryBean is now "stuck" and caches the null reference (I haven't tested this yet, though, I'll shamefully admit). This has to be an issue that concerns people.

Example: ProjectLibrary: Project1 Project2 Project3 the first list: user1 project1 user1 project2 user2 project2 user2 project3 user3 project3 now i want to give each user permission to see the project he's assigned to so that when he opens a third form, a combobox filled with projects will only show the projects he has permissions on. thank you so much!

• C# - Copy dlls to the exe output directory when using dependency injection with no references?

  I have a C# solution that I am using dependency injection to resolve references between dlls. I have an exe project and some other dll projects that are not referenced by the exe (It uses the dlls through the IoC container). The project settings are the default, visual studio settings where it builds each dll in it's own folder. Since the exe doesn't reference the dlls, they never get copied to the output directory of the exe and don't get found by the IoC framework. How do you handle this? Do you build them all in the same directory? Use post build copy commands? Or something else?

  I narrowed the causes of an AS3 compiler error 1119 down to code that looks similar to this: var test_inst:Number = 2.953; trace(test_inst); trace(test_inst.constructor); I get the error "1119: Access of possibly undefined property constructor through a reference with static type Number." Now if I omit the variable's type, I don't get that error: var test_inst = 2.953; trace(test_inst); trace(test_inst.constructor); it produces the expected output: 2.953 [class Number] So what's the deal? I like explicitly typing variables, so is there any way to solve this error other than not providing the variable's type?

• TypeError: Error #1009 Actionscript 3 help.

  I am extremely frustrated. I'm following a tutorial and mimicing it on my own. I've been able to sort out most of the errors so far but this one has me stumped. I have tried replacing all of the class files with the tutorial specimen ones but i still get the error. TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference. at com.senocular.utils::KeyObject/construct() at com.senocular.utils::KeyObject() at com.asgamer.basics1::Ship() at com.asgamer.basics1::Engine() Now, not really understanding the error properly I paste dumped the files online for you to look at. Ship class: textbin.com/78z35 Engine class: textbin.com/32b24 KeyObject class: textbin.com/p2725 As the error still occured when using the specimen class files I really have no idea where to begin. • SQL Server pivots? some way to set column names to values within a row

  I am building a system of multiple trackers that are going to use a lot of the same columns so there is a table for the trackers, the tracker columns, then a cross reference for which columns go with which tracker, when a user inserts a tracker row the different column values are stored in multiple rows that share the same record id and store both the value and the name of the particular column. I need to find a way to dynamically change the column name of the value to be the column name that is stored in the same row. i.e. id | value | name ------------------ 23 | red | color 23 | fast | speed needs to look like this. id | color | speed ------------------ 23 | red | fast Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you.

  I want to define the following class as such: public class CollectionAttribute<E extends Collection<T>> { private String name; private E value; public CollectionAttribute(String name, E value) { this.name = name; this.value = value; } public E getValue() { return value; } public void addValue(T value) { value.add(T); } } This won't compile (cannot resolve symbol T). If I replace the class declaration with the following: public class CollectionAttribute<E extends Collection<?>> Then I can't reference the parametrized type of the collection. Am I missing something or have I reached a limitation with generics in Java ?

  I'm working on an application that creates a single ADO connection and keeps it open for the lifetime of the application. I have connection pooling turned off. (Please ignore the fact that this might not be best practice for the purposes of this question). If I spawn a new thread and use the exact same ADO connection, it uses a new SPID behind the scenes. Is there anyway to ensure an ADO connection always uses the same SPID, across all threads? (For reference the application is VC++ using ADO via COM to SQL Server).

  I have a user control (ascx) that I have added two public properties to: RequestTypeId and GroupId. Both have the attribute set. In my aspx page, I have a ListView, and in the ItemTemplate, I place my control reference, like so: <ctrl:ServiceTypeGroup runat="server" RequestTypeId="<%#RequestType.RequestTypeId%>" GroupId='<%#Eval("Id").ToString()%>' /> Setting the RequestTypeId works fine. Setting the GroupId fails with the following error: "Databinding methods such as Eval(), XPath(), and Bind() can only be used in the context of a databound control." What do I need to do to my user control code to allow binding a Eval() expression to one of its properties? Or is it not possible?

  Hello, I am trying develop a basic referrer system to my Django website, system will be generating a unique url for each users to share with their friends. Once these friends enter this website, system somehow keep the data that "this user is browsing by the reference of X user" and once this invited person decided to register for an account, system will save this information (maybe as an extra Foreign Key of the inviting user in the UserProfile model) Now how can I keep track of the inviting user from the moment entering using the referred link to the point where he/she registers to the site. Would session framework work on this? If not how could this be done ?

  Hello, let's say I want my users to use only one class, say SpecialData. Now, this data class would have many methods, and depending on the type of data, the methods do different things, internally, but return externally similar results. Therefore my wanting to have one "public" class and other "private", child classes that would change the behavior of methods, etc... It would be amazingly more simple for some types of data that need to be built to do something like this: SpecialData& sm = SpecialData::new_supermatrix(); and new_supermatrix() would return a SuperMatrix instance, which inherits from most behaviors of SpecialData. my header: static SpecialData& new_supermatrix(); my cpp: SpecialData& SpecialData::new_supermatrix()(){ return SuperMatrix(MATRIX_DEFAULT_MAGNITUDE,1000,1239,FLOAT32,etc...); } The problem is, I get this error, which is probably logical due to the circumstances: invalid initialization of non-const reference of type ‘SpecialData&’ from a temporary of type ‘SpecialData’ So, any ideas?

I am thinking there is an easy way to reference all of the columns in a particular data frame aka: DF3<-DF[!(DF[,]==-999.000),] or DF3<-DF[!(DF[,(2:4)]==-999.000),] but obviously these do not work And out of curiosity, bonus points if you can me why I need that last comma before the ending square bracket as in: ==-999.000),]

It's like this: abc.h extern uint32_t key; a.cpp #include "abc.h" uint32_t key; int main { ............. } b.cpp #include "abc.h" int main { printf("Key: %.8x\n", key); ............. } Now when I compile a.cpp, there is no error. but when i compile b.cpp it gives error "undefined reference to `key'". Why? Because I have several forms on same page, each containing textarea#quote, so depending on which form is selected I want to be able to reference a particular element within the same form.   This is driving me crazy. I am getting error that object doesn't contain definition for DeleteObject. Here is my line of code that produces an error: ctx.Tanks.DeleteObject(Tank); I tried to reference another object from another edmx file that my friend has created and then everything is fine, DeleteObject exists.   I'm trying to remove the unsightly embedded <STYLE> tag the built-in Recent Comments widget puts in my <HEAD>, but I can't seem to get the syntax right. It originally calls add_action( 'wp_head', array(&$this, 'recent_comments_style') ); to add it (in wp-includes/default-widgets.php, line 609), and I'm trying to undo it. I think it should be something like this: remove_action('wp_head', 'WP_Widget_Recent_Comments::recent_comments_style'); but with all the variations I've tried I still can't get it right.
