  • Juju Openstack bundle: Can't launch an instance

    Deployed bundle:~makyo/openstack/2/openstack, on top of 7 physical boxes and 3 virtual ones. After changing vip_iface strings to point to right devices, e.g., br0 instead of eth0, and defining "/mnt/loopback|30G", in Cinder's block-device string, am able to navigate through openstack dashboard, error free. Following http://docs.openstack.org/grizzly/openstack-compute/install/apt/content/running-an-instance.html instructions, attempted to launch cirros 0.3.1 image; however, novalist shows the instance in   • WCF RIA Services v1.0 Timeouts

    I have a RIA service methods which return quite a large amount of (binary) data to my silverlight application. The methods themselves (database access etc) complete quickly, but since I upgraded to v1.0 from the RC2 I've been experiencing timeouts, even when I limit the data returned to the smallest objects. Debug shows the method returning, then 20-30 seconds later the silverlight "method complete" event will fire. There is not enough data to cause that much lag. Could anyone suggest why this might be? I've been unable to find any breaking changes documentation specific to the RC2 = 1.0 upgrade. Trying to eliminate any other possible causes also, but this is literally a case of worked before the install, doesn't work now! (also upgraded silverlight 4 tools for vs).

  • Accessing entire netflix catalog via API v1.5

    Netflix recently updated their API methods for obtaining the full Netflix catalog. I'm curious if anyone has had any success accessing these new xml documents and downloading them via API v1.5 (9/2012). Previously, you could download the entire Netflix catalog via one API call (which I had working perfectly). Now, there are supposedly two calls to make: one for dvd's and one for streaming movies. I cannot make these calls return anything except for an empty array. Please don't offer an answer unless you have personally downloaded the entire catalog via these new API's.   • SVN Workflow - Chicken Before the Egg - Before merging V1 with V2, I need code from V1 to work on V2

    Hi, Our distributed team (3 internal devs and 3+ external devs) use SVN to manage our codebase for a web site. We have a branch for each minor version (4.1.0, 4.1.1, 4.1.2, etc...). We have a trunk which we merge each version into when we do a release and publish to our site. An example of the problem we are having is thus: A new feature is added, lets call it "Ability to Create A Project" to 4.1.1. Another feature which depends on the one in 4.1.1 is scheduled to go in 4.1.2, called "Ability to Add Tasks to Projects". So, on Monday, we say 4.1.1 is 'closed' and needs to be tested. Our remote developers usually will start working on features/tickets for 4.1.2 at this point. Throughout the week we will test 4.1.1 and fix any bugs and commit them back to 4.1.1. Then, on Friday or so, we will tag 4.1.1, merge it with trunk, and finally, merge it with 4.1.2. But, for the 4-5 days we are testing, 4.1.2 doesn't have the code from 4.1.1 that some of the new features for 4.1.2 depend on. So a dev who is adding the "Ability to Add Tasks To Projects" feature, doesn't have the "Ability to Create a Project" feature to build upon, and has to do some file copy shenanigans to be able to keep working on it. What could/should we do to smooth out this process? P.S. Apologies if this question has been asked before - I did search but couldn't find what I'm looking for.

    I am trying to run a live Zen Cart store (version 1.3.8) on a my local machine which is PHP 5.3. I am aware of the incompatibilities between both versions and have dealt with it by applying the patch found here: http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=140960 I am able to login the admin side no problem, but when i navigate to the store - all i see are blank pages. How can I fix this issue? I'm hoping there is a fix elsewhere. Trying not to revert to an older PHP installation.

    Hi all, How can I achieve the following result in cakephp: In my application a Topic is related to category, category is related to city and city is finally related to state in other words: topic belongs to category, category belongs to city , city belongs to state.. Now in the Topic controller's index action I want to find out all the topics and it's city and state. How can I do this. I can easily do this using a custom query ($this-Model-query() function ) but then I will be facing pagination difficulties.     I'm running ubuntu 10.04. I have a newly purchased TATA Photon+ Internet connection which supports Windows and Mac. On the Internet I found a article saying that it could be configured on Linux. I followed the steps to install it on Ubuntu from this link. I am still not able to get online, and need some help. Also, it is very slow, but I was told that I would see speeds up to 3.1MB. I dont have wvdial installed and cannot install it from apt as I'm not connected to internet Booting from windows I dowloaded "wvdial" .deb package and tried to install on ubuntu but it's ended with dependency problem. Automatically, don't know how, I got connected to internet only for once. Immediately I installed wvdial package after this I followed the tutorials(I could not browse and upload the files here) . From then it's showing that the device is connected in the network connections but no internet connection. Once I disable the device, it won't show as connected again and I'll have to restart my system.     I am attempting to setup BugZilla to receive but reports from another system using the XML-RPC interface. BugZilla works fine on its own with its own interface. When I attempt to test the XML-RPC functionality by accessing "xmlrpc.cgi" in my browser I get the error: The XML-RPC Interface feature is not available in this Bugzilla at C:\BugZilla\xmlrpc.cgi line 27 main::BEGIN(...) called at C:\BugZilla\xmlrpc.cgi line 29 eval {...} called at C:\BugZilla\xmlrpc.cgi line 29 Following this I install test-taint package from the default perl repository, this installs version 1.04. Re-running "xmlrpc.cgi" gives me an IIS error: 502 - Web server received an invalid response while acting as a gateway or proxy server. There is a problem with the page you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed. When the Web server (while acting as a gateway or proxy) contacted the upstream content server, it received an invalid response from the content server. So I run the checksetup.pl which inform me that: Use of uninitialized value in open at C:/Perl/site/lib/Test/Taint.pm line 334, <DATA> line 558. Installing Test-Taint from CPAN is the same.   • What's the term for re-implementing an old API in terms of a newer API

    The reason for doing it is to solve the case when a newer API is no longer backwards compatible with an older API. To explain, just say that there is an old API v1.0. The maker of this API decides it is broken and works on a new API v1.1 that intentionally breaks compatibility with the old API v1.0. Now, any programs written against the old API cannot be recompiled as-is with the new API. Then lets say there is a large app written against the old API and the developer doesn't have access to the source code. A solution would be to re-implement a "custom" old API v1.0 in terms of the new API v1.1 calls. So the "custom" v1.0 API is actually keeping the same interface/methods as the v1.0 API but inside its implementation it is actually making calls to the new API v1.1 methods. So the large app can be then compiled and linked against the "custom" v1.0 API and the new v1.1 API without any major source code changes. Is there a term for this practice? There's a recent example of this happening in Jamie Zawinski's port of XScreenSaver to the iPhone - he re-implemented the OpenGL 1.3 API in terms of the OpenGL ES 1.1 API. In this case, OpenGL 1.3 represents the "old" API and OpenGL ES 1.1 represents the "new" API.

  • FDE with DiskCryptor V1 (TRIM Support) on Crucial M4 SSD on W7 x64 - Unpartitioned Space?

    I have a new Alienware m11 laptop with a brand new Crucial M4 128GB SSD. I have installed the SSD but not used it yet. I am thinking of using FDE with DiskCryptor 1.0.732.111. I will install Win7 Pro x64. I have read about support for TRIM in v1.0.732.111 but also about leaving unpartitioned space. My SSD drive, 'Crucual M4' does not have a manufacturer built-in reserve like other drives. My questions are: Should I leave some free unpartitioned space with v1 of DC and W7x64 even though it will support TRIM or should I not do this? Should I install DC v1 first or after installing Windows 7 (assuming it is brand new, never been used SSD)?

  • Trying to compile VS2008 project on Win 64 bit which is custom Powershell PSSnapin

    Library Project compiles fine for ANY CPU in VS2008 running on Win 7 64 -bit. Now in the post build following command fails when attemptiong to register library dll: PS C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v2.0.50727 .\installutil C:\path\Project.dll Exception occurred while initializing the installation: System.BadImageFormatException: Could not load file or assembly 'file:///C:\path\Project.dll' or one of its dependencies. An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format.. Do I need to compile the project as x64 I was under impression that AnyCPU will take care of it. Alo my library does have dependencies. Do they also need to be compiled as x64 bit? Any help is appreciated.
