  • Team Build: The path 'Path' is already mapped in workspace 'workspace' error even after deleting all

    I have this problem when I queue a build. The build dies with the error The path C:\[Path]\Sources is already mapped in workspace [Server Name]. the same as this question. but I've removed all the workspaces on the build agent by running this command: tf workspaces /remove:* and also by deleting the TFS cache folder. I've also restarted the server, but the error keeps happening on each build.

  • Perforce command line only showing local users/changelists/workspaces, but P4V shows all

    We are using P4 for free with two users. In the P4V admin gui I can see both myself and my partner as users, and in the P4V gui I can see all workspaces (clients) and all changelists (both mine and my partner's). From the command line, 'p4 users' only shows me, 'p4 clients' only shows my local workspace, etc. Is there some mode, environment setting, or special directory from which I have to use the p4 command line to see those global objects? I believe I am a p4 superuser (since I read this is the default on installation and we didn't change anything). I'm obviously missing something very basic about the relationship between p4 command line and P4V. The reason I need to use the command line is to delete an old client workspace (used on a different machine) that has an empty changelist associated with it. I therefore need to use 'p4 client -d -f old-workspace-name' from the command line. But when I do it tells me client 'old-workspace-name' doesn't exist.

  • Eclipse sync workspaces/perspectives/preferences across computers

    I have a project I need to be working on from two different computers, at work and at home. I need to be able to work on the code from both computers, so the issue is two fold; Sharing the code Sharing the workspace. 1 is simple enough with svn; but I feel icky committing broken code to svn just so I can access that again from home. I can live with this but is there a better option? To elaborate more on 2. I have a highly customized eclipse setup on one of the computers where I spent hours adding plugins and tweaking every tiny config options I could access to get it to the point where it is just right. It'll be a pain redoing every single change on the other computer, is there some way to automatically sync that? I know I can export preferences from Eclipse and import them, but I don't want to have to manually do that each time I change something. [Also, I don't think exporting preferences also exports perspectives?] Both computers run windows.

Setting up the workflow for the the approval of the document is simple, but I'm unsure of how to create the document workspace upon approval. I want the document workspace to be created programmatically once the document is approved. Can someone recommend an approach for accomplishing this?

  • Is it possible to drag windows between workspaces when using Compiz?

    When I used Metacity, I could drag windows between workspaces using the small icon view of my workspaces. I recently started using Compiz for all the cool desktop effects, however this drag and drop feature isn't working. I use the cube effect for switching workspaces, but I noticed the wall effect doesn't allow it either. Is this just a missing feature from Compiz or is there a setting somewhere that I can enable it? I know that I can enable dragging windows across edges to the next workspace, and the expose feature to drag windows between workspaces. However, the drag and drop on the icon view is really powerful, and I would love to have it back along with all the great Compiz special effects.

  • In TFS, is there a maximum amount of workspaces which can be used for a user?

    I'm currently in the process of creating a bunch of new build scripts for our platform. Things went okay until I encountered the following error: D:\TFS\WorkingDir\BuildType\TFSBuild.proj(173,5): error MSB4018: Microsoft.TeamFoundation.VersionControl.Client.WorkspaceNotFoundException: TF14061: The workspace BUILDMACHINENAME_9;BUILDMACHINENAME\TFSService does not exist. When I take a look at the list of workspaces (with Team Foundation Sidekicks) I see there are a bunch of BUILDMACHINENAME_xxx workspaces, where xxx is a number ranging from 1 to 8. What I'm thinking is that TFS reaches some kind of limit (10 probably) of the amount of workspaces it can create for a certain owner, and thus fails to create a workspace for the build automatically. Can this be the case? Anyone else encountered this?

  • Why would autoconf/automake project link against installed library instead of local development libr

    I'm creating a library libgdata that has some tests and non-installed programs. I am running into the problem that once I've installed the library once, the programs seem to be linking to the installed version and not the local version in ../src/libgdata.la any longer. What could cause this? Am I doing something horribly wrong? Here is what my test/Makefile.am looks like: INCLUDES = -I$(top_srcdir)/src/ -I$(top_srcdir)/test/ # libapiutil contains all of our dependencies! AM_CXXFLAGS = $(APIUTIL_CFLAGS) AM_LDFLAGS = $(APIUTIL_LIBS) LDADD = $(top_builddir)/src/libgdata.la noinst_PROGRAMS = gdatacalendar gdatayoutube gdatacalendar_SOURCES = gdatacalendar.cc gdatayoutube_SOURCES = gdatayoutube.cc TESTS = check_bare check_PROGRAMS = $(TESTS) check_bare_SOURCES = check_bare.cc (libapiutil is another library that has some helper stuff for dealing with libcurl and libxml++) So, for instance, if I run the tests without having installed anything, everything works fine. I can make changes locally and they are picked up by these programs right away. If I install the package, these programs will compile (it seems like it does actually look locally for the headers), but once I run the program it complains about missing symbols. As far as I can tell, it is linking against the newly built library (../src/libgdata.la) based on the make output, so I'm not sure why this would be happening. If i remove the installed files, the local changes to src/* are picked up just fine.     My new laptop has a big 16:9 screen, and I'm finding it hard to fully utilize it during the 95% of the time that I'm not watching HD movies on it. I'd like to set it up as a kind of virtual dual screen by splitting the physical screen into two workspaces. I know I could arrange my windows manually, but I'd like to be able to maximize a window and have it only consume half the monitor, and have its pop up dialogs centered on its half-screen, that sort of thing. Is there some kind of plug in available to do this? Thanks in advance for any pointers.

  • Apache Tomcat under Windows: Changing webapps default directory

    I am deploying my Java application with Ant. Unfortunately my test deployment on the local machine doesn't work because of Vista. The Program Files directionaries are protected and i don't want to start Ant or Eclipse as an Admin. So i had the idea to move my webapps folder to a workspace subfolder, so i can use relative paths in Ant as well. The solutions seems to be to modify the Host element in the server.xml. With Linux it isn't such a deal: <Host name="localhost" appBase="/path/to/webapps" unpackWARs="true" autoDeploy="true" xmlValidation="false" xmlNamespaceAware="false"> But with Windows i don't get it right. That the UI makes sense to the user he should not need to turn off/on the workspace every new customer/order/product is added what is a bad user experience, how do you do this typical LOB application requirement?

    There is quite a tier of organization in Eclipse. You can have multiple workspaces, each of which can have projects, these projects can be assigned to working sets, and then each project can have source folders... How do you use all this organization? Do you even use it all? Working sets are so hidden that I hardly know what they are; are they commonly used, or are they hidden because they are so uncommonly used? What is even the methodology behind all this? I'd like a good explanation of the recommended way to use all these different organizational layers, because at the moment I basically just have a bunch of random projects in a single workspace (the default %USER%/workspace folder) and it's getting to be quite an alphabetical mess. So in essence: How do you keep your Eclipse workspace(s) organized?

  • Can TFS workspaces be used without being tied to a specific machine?

    So I've got a situation where we have a project with 10 developers. Each developer, when they come in for the day, is randomly issued a machine to use for development that day. The machine names are different, say DEV01 - DEV10. At the time that they are issued to the developers, the machines are identical, and no changes the developers make during the day are persisted on the machines (source code changes are stored in TFS, not locally). These are of course actually virtual machines, but that's not really relevant to the point at hand. The problem is that each morning, the developers run into 3 issues: 1) The machine that they are assigned may not be the same machine they were last assigned to. For example, DevMan A might have used DEV04 yesterday, and received DEV06 today. His workspace definitions are now tied to DEV06; he must create a new workspace, or migrate the old workspace to DEV04. 2) The machine that they are assigned may have been in use yesterday, and some of the mappings may conflict. For example, DevMan A might have DEV04 today, and wish to create a workspace mapping the project folder to "C:\MyProj\Solution". However, DevMan B had DEV04 yesterday, and he used the same project folder. TFS now complains. 3) This may be the first time they are on a given machine. They now need to recreate for this machine all of their source-control mappings for the new machine. All of these issues can be resolved in a straightforward fashion on a case-by-case basis, but it does sap some productivity from the morning. We'd much prefer if the TFS workspace definitions could be 'relaxed', such that they did not include the machine name in the definition somehow. Barring that, if anyone is aware of a solution to the above problems that can run automatically, or with limited user intervention, that would also be ideal.

(parentComponent is the reference to the component which contains the DG).

    I am an active user of workspaces in Ubuntu. Until recently, pressing Ctrl+Alt+D (show desktop) acted only on the current workspace. For example, one might want to minimize the applications in the current workspace, open a file, and then bring some of them back. The current implementation works on all workspaces uniformly which is counter-intuitive to me. The reason for the existence of workspaces is the separation of logic -- one can have a browser open in one workspace, a text editor in another, a terminal in a third. The current functionality goes against this idea. Is there a way to restrict the action of the show desktop command to a single workspace only?

    I created a new Azure Website, using Umbraco as the CMS. I got a page up and going, and I already have a .co.nz domain with www.domains4less.com. There's a whole lot of stuff on the internet about pointing URLs to Azure, but that seems to be more of a redirection service than anything (i.e. my URLs still use azurewebsites.net once I land on my site).   • Flex Debugger wont launch - Only on particular project.

    When trying to launch Flex debaugger on my project, it does not launch and I get an error instead. Every other project in different workspaces launches just fine. This is the only one giving me an issue. Here is the error: Process terminated without establishing connection to debugger.   • Managing conflicting ivy repositories (in eclipse)

    I've got eclipse workspaces for my full time job and my home test work that are both set up with ivy (and using ivyDE). However, I'm finding that I'm getting strange behaviour and conflicts between the different workspaces - issues like not being able to find certain dependencies, or not compiling etc. Is there a way in ivy or ivyDE to set the home .ivy2 directory so that I can split my workspaces? At the moment, I'm alternating different directories for my .ivy2 cache.
