• I am getting a following error while launching my eclipse

  I successfully implemented and ran several Scala tutorials in Eclipse using the Scala plugin. Is there a way to programmatically stop swank? It seems start-repl takes control of the thread.   I'm working on a outlook 2003 AddIn using VSTO SE.We have few customized windows developed in WPF. It looks there are few client machines have problem with WPF rendering due to which there could be an exception due to addin is getting disabled. I added a outlook.exe.config and added trace listeners for wpf Trace sources. I set it up according this link. The console trace listener is working fine for me. But I'm not able get the TextWriterTraceListener working with config <add name="textListener" type="System.Diagnostics.TextWriterTraceListener" initializeData="Trace.log" /> I tried giving absolute path for trace log file as "C:\Trace.log".The TextWriterTraceListener worked for a dummy wpf app with the same config. Am I missing anything here.

• Linq to SQL DataContext Windsor IoC memory leak problem

  I have an ASP.NET MVC app that creates a Linq2SQL datacontext on a per-web-request basis using Castler Windsor IoC. For some reason that I do not fully understand, every time a new datacontext is created (on every web request) about 8k of memory is taken up and not released - which inevitably causes an OutOfMemory exception. If I force garbage collection the memory is released OK. My datacontext class is very simple: public class DataContextAccessor : IDataContextAccessor { private readonly DataContext dataContext; public DataContextAccessor(string connectionString) { dataContext = new DataContext(connectionString); } public DataContext DataContext { get { return dataContext; } } } The Windsor IoC webconfig to instantiate this looks like so: <component id="DataContextAccessor" service="DomainModel.Repositories.IDataContextAccessor, DomainModel" type="DomainModel.Repositories.DataContextAccessor, DomainModel" lifestyle="PerWebRequest"> <parameters> <connectionString> ... </connectionString> </parameters> </component> Does anyone know what the problem is, and how to fix it?

• iPhone app running in Instruments fails with unrecognized selector

  I have an app that appears to run without problems in normal use. The Clang Static Analyzer reports no problems either. When I try to run it in Instruments, it fails with an unrecognized selector exception. The offending line is a simple property setter of the form: self.bar = baz; To figure out what's going on, I added an NSLog() call immediately above it: NSLog(@"class = %@ responds = %d", [self class], [self respondsToSelector:@selector(setBar:)]); self.bar = baz; On the emulator (without Instruments) and on a device, this shows exactly what I'd expect: class = Foo responds = 1 When running under Instruments, I get: class = Foo responds = 0 I'm stumped as to what could cause this. Perhaps a different memory location is getting tromped on when it's in the Instruments environment? Can anyone suggest how I might debug this?

• WPF Application Hang

  Hi, I'm using Windows 7 Professional (x64) and having installed .NET 4.0 RTM on my machine. Since 2 days I'm noticing that every WPF application that I'm trying to run hangs and becomes non responsive (a not responding text is appended to it's title bar) and it's painted white. There is no info regarding any exception, no error message. Nothing. Even the Event Log shows that there was "application hang" event (code 1002) and nothing more. This problem is for everything that is written in WPF, even for products like NHibernate Profiler and other stuff that I was using on a regular basis without any issues. Tried to reinstall .NET 4.0 and nothing changed. Any ideas why this might be happening?

  I have issue with userlocation in mkmapview. The thing is that i have navigation controller which pushes mapview , as soon as it pushes it userlocation is queried. But if user pop mapview view before userlocation animation is finished , it throws exception because animation is trying to access deallocated mapview instance. So my question is , how to prevent that. I could do it by disabling back button , but i am not sure if that right way to take. Does anybody know how to stop current animation?

  Ok I'm very new to databases and C# in general, but I'm using a piece of code that exports dataset data to an Excel file, and its taking issue with the date/time format. I'm using the MySQL connector so the rowtype is MySql.Data.Types.MySqlDateTime. Is there any quick way to convert it into System.DateTime so I can slot it straight into the case statement?   I'm using EF4 and I'm running into a problem when I try to do something that looks quite trivial to me. I have two entities, let's call them A and B. These entities have a many-to-many association between them with a navigation property on A that contains a list of related B entities. What I want to do is to add existing B entities to a new A entity. When I try to do that, I get an exception: AcceptChanges cannot continue because the object's key values conflict with another object in the ObjectStateManager. Make sure that the key values are unique before calling AcceptChanges. Has anyone run into such a problem?

  I'm having an issue opening files that have recently been closed by the .Net framework. Basically, what happens is the following: -Read in an XML file using DataSet.ReadXml() -Make some changes to the data -Write out the XML file using DataSet.WriteXml() -Copy the XML file to a new location using File.Copy -FTP the file using a custom control This sequence can intermittently fail either after the WriteXML or the File.Copy with a file in use exception. I'm guessing it could be the Windows write cache not flushing right away. Can anyone confirm that this could be causing my issue? Any solutions to suggest? Thanks, Dan

• Exceptions using CruiseControl.NET

  I recently updated to CC.NET 1.5 and I'm now getting some strange exceptions. On one project I get: - ThoughtWorks.CruiseControl.Core.CruiseControlException: Source control operation failed: svn: Can't create a character converter from native encoding to 'UTF-8' This happens when CC is checking a subversion repository for any mods. If I run the actual command line CC says is failing it works and returns an empty XML (there are no mods). Some other projects also fail to check mods with another "Source control operation failed" exception but no further info. Again the command is an "svn log" which when run from command line works ok. I'm using subversion 1.4.5 client side and my source repository exists on a separate box than my build server. Anyone got any ideas?

• ChannelFactory don't have an address on the endpoint, why?

  When I create a new instance of a ChannelFactory: var factory = new ChannelFactory<IMyService>(); and that I create a new channel, I have an exception saying that the address of the Endpoint is null. My configuration inside my web.config is as mentioned and everything is as it is supposed to be (especially the address of the endpoint).   Hi, I'm getting a "java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: javax.ejb.EJBObject" error when I'm running my application as a JAR file. When running it in Eclipse everything is working fine. The application properly access the main class and the main method. But when it tries to load the application context it cannot resolve a reference to an EJB bean. I then get the following error: Error creating bean with name 'bc' defined in class path resource [blabla.xml]: Initialization of bean failed; nested exception is java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: javax/ejb/EJBObject at org.springframework.beans.factory.support.BeanDefinitionValueResolver .resolveReference(BeanDefinitionValueResolver.java:275) ... Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: javax.ejb.EJBObject I've included all runtime-scoped dependencies with Maven in the JAR file. Do you know any further information regarding this error?

  We have deployed a java webapplication in Elastic Beanstalk with the minimum instance count 1 and max instance count 2 for Autoscaling. The custom AMI we are using is c1.medium with Sun JDK 6. The environment status changed to yellow and then red. After checking into the log file from the snapshot logs we found a exception - Caused by: java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space. Assuming this could be one of the possible reason for the Environment failure. The settings that we have configured in the Environment Container option are Initial JVM Heap Size (MB) - 256M Maximum JVM Heap Size (MB) - 512m The maximum heap size the java virtual machine will ever consume, specified on the JVM launch command line using -Xmx. Maximum JVM Permanent Generation Size (MB) - 512m Should i increase the Heap size from 512m to more or is it fine.
