    Hi to all, if I have a string like 'foo(bar)', with the following code i can almost parse it the way i want: $results = array(); preg_match( "/\w*(?=(\(.*\))?)/", 'foo(bar)', &$results ); print_r($results); /* Array ( [0] => foo [1] => (bar) ) */ How can I modify the regex to have bar instead of (bar)?   • Uploading a file to imgur using PHP Imgurv3 API

    I writing a webapp which uploads images to imgur directly. Since all older version of their APIs have been deprecated i am forced to use v3 of their APIs. Unfortunately I am unable to get the API to work.     Hi, I'm making a simple cms system for a site I'm making for non-tech users to edit... So far so good but when I try and run this code I keep getting: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ''pages' ORDER BY 'pages'.'pageOrder' ASC LIMIT 0 , 30' at line 1 By the error it looks like a problem with the order by section and indeed it works without it... $sql = "SELECT * FROM 'pages' ORDER BY 'pages'.'pageOrder' ASC LIMIT 0 , 30"; $result = mysql_query($sql) or die(mysql_error()); Now I know there is nothing wrong with the code because originally I wrote my own SQL but then after it failed I robbed some from phpmyadmin and it still gives the error but it works in phpmyadmin... I'm really at my wits end with this, help is very much appreciated thank you...

Is there any better way to write this kind of function. I've also tried filter_var($foo, FILTER_VALIDATE_INT); but it won't accept values like '0003', '-0' etc.

    Dear all, I would like to ask for how to redirect to previous page (ajax paging). Example, Let's say currently I am in page 5, then I click on one record, after I edit it, I would like to go back to that page 5 not page 1. The problem is my paging is using ajax, http://domain/photo/#5 I try to use $_SERVER[http_referer], but I only get http://domain/photo , I not able to get # and the value. What is the best way to redirect back to the previous paging. My last choice is using $_SESSION. Hope I can get better answer here. Thx.

    Hi, I'm trying to get the users full activity throughout the website. I need to Join many tables throughout the database, with that condition that it is one user. What I currently have written is: SELECT * FROM comments AS c JOIN rphotos AS r ON c.userID = r.userID AND c.userID = '$defineUserID'; But What it is returning is everything about the user, but it repeats rows. For instance, for one user he has 6 photos and 5 comments So I expect the join to return 11 rows. Instead it returns 30 results like so: PhotoID = 1; CommentID = 1; PhotoID = 1; CommentID = 2; PhotoID = 1; CommentID = 3; and so on... What am i doing wrong?

    So Ive got a pretty big array of data and need to sort them by two criteria. There is variable $data['important'] and $data['basic']. They are simple numbers and I am using uasort to sort $data firstly by important and then by basic. So Important | Basic 10 | 8 9 | 9 9 | 7 7 | 9 The usort function is a simple public function sort_by_important($a, $b) { if ($a[important] > $b[important]) { return -1; } elseif ($b[important] > $a[important]) { return 1; } else { return 0; } } How can I re-sort the array to the second variable and keep the Important ordering? The user should fill out a formular that is splitted up in 13 parts. Every part is an own formular having a 'Next' button for submitting everything to a database and redirecting to the next page.     This is really getting frustrating. I have a text file that I'm reading for a list of part numbers that goes into an array. I'm using the following foreach function to search a database for matching numbers. $file = file('parts_array.txt'); foreach ($file as $newPart) { $sql = "SELECT products_sku FROM products WHERE products_sku='" . $newPart . "'"; $rs = mysql_query($sql); $num_rows = mysql_num_rows($rs); echo $num_rows; echo "<br />"; } The problem is I'm getting 0 rows returned from mysql_num_rows. I can type the sql statement without the variable and it works perfectly. I can even echo out the sql statement from this script, copy and paste the statement from the browser and it works. But, for some reason I'm not getting any records when I'm using the variable. I've used variables in sql statements tons of times, but this really has me stumped.

    Hi, I'm trying to look through an array of records (staff members), in this loop, I call a function which returns another array of records (appointments for each staff member). foreach($staffmembers as $staffmember) { $staffmember['appointments'] = get_staffmember_appointments_for_day($staffmember); // print_r($staffmember['appointments'] works fine } This is working OK, however, later on in the script, I need to loop through the records again, this time making use of the appointment arrays, however they are unavailable. foreach ($staffmembers as $staffmember) { //do some other stuff //print_r($staffmember['appointments'] no longer does anything } Normally, I would perform the function from the first loop, within the second, however this loop is already nested within two others, which would cause the same sql query to be run 168 times. Can anyone suggest a workaround? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
