  Hello, I have installed Oracle XE on my Development machine and it is working fine. Then I installed Oracle XE client on my Test machine which is also working fine and I can access Development PC database from Browser. Now, I want to create an ASP.Net application which can access that Oracle XE database. I tried it too, but it always shows me an error on my TEST machine to connect database to the Development Machine using ASP.Net. • How to override the default init.tcl

  I'm working on a project where I want to make use of TCL as the command interpreter. I have a working c library object which I can load from within the tcl shell but my problem is finding a way to automatically do this while starting a tclsh. Essentially my ultimate goal is to be able to run a script and have it load my library and run some initial startup tcl code before dropping me back to the tclsh command prompt in interactive mode. e.g. tclsh -f myscript.tcl --then-switch-to-interactive or EXPORT TCLINIT=myscript.tcl tclsh The basic goal is to avoid having to distribute tclsh but rather rely in local user installations of tcl. All I would like to distribute is my library, a startup script and a shell command to launch the tclsh with the library preloaded. I've tried using the environment variables TCLINIT and TCL_LIBRARY but they seem to have no effect. The only workable solutions I've found so far are to add "source myscript.tcl" to either the end of /usr/share/tcltk/tcl8.5.init.tcl or ~/.tclshrc However both of these "solutions" are non perfect as they require modification of the default users workspace. It strikes me that there must be a way to handle this in TCL, but my research so far hasn't yielded anything. Does anyone have any suggestions?

  I am relatively new to multi-threading and want to execute a background task using a Swingworker thread - the method that is called does not actually return anything but I would like to be notified when it has completed.   My function is being passed a struct containing, among other things, a NULL terminated array of pointers to words making up a command with arguments. I'm performing a glob match on the list of arguments, to expand them into a full list of files, then I want to replace the passed argument array with the new expanded one. The globbing is working fine, that is, g.gl_pathv is populated with the list of expected files. • Outlook Macro not executing

  Hello all, we are using an an outlook macro for incoming emails to unzip the attachments, log them in sql server and copy them to a special working folder where a windows service processes them. The problems are: the user must be logged in at the server otherwise the macro wont run. I think there is no workaround for this. whenever a modal dialog pops up in outlook and waits for user input, the macro wont execute either (f.e. AutoArchive) I have stopped AutoArchiving all x-days in the options. Because its a productive environment, are there other possible windows preventing the macro to execute, which i must disable now? Our outlook-macro solution surely is not the best because of above problems. Are there better alternatives to read emails, unzip attachments and move them to a working folder? My language is VB.Net and server OS is windows 2008. Regards, Tim

  I have a dozen or so named queries in my NHibernate project and I want to execute them against a test database in unit tests to make sure the syntax still matches the changing domain/database model. Currently I have a unit test for each named query where I get and execute the query, for example: IQuery query = session.GetNamedQuery("GetPersonSummaries"); var personSummaryArray = query.List(); Assert.That(personSummaryArray, Is.Not.Null); This works fine, but I would like to have one unit test that loops thru all of the named queries and executes them. • Does Java 6 open a default port for JMX remote connections?

  My specific question has to do with JMX as used in JDK 1.6: if I am running a Java process using JRE 1.6 with com.sun.management.jmxremote in the command line, does Java pick a default port for remote JMX connections? Backstory: I am currently trying to develop a procedure to give to a customer that will enable them to connect to one of our processes via JMX from a remote machine. The goal is to facillitate their remote debugging of a situation occurring on a real-time display console. Because of their service level agreement, they are strongly motivated to capture as much data as possible and, if the situation looks too complicated to fix quickly, to restart the display console and allow it to reconnect to the server-side. I am aware the I could run jconsole on JDK 1.6 processes and jvisualvm on post-JDK 1.6.7 processes given physical access to the console. However, because of the operational requirements and people problems involved, we are strongly motivated to grab the data that we need remotely and get them up and running again. EDIT: I am aware of the command line port property com.sun.management.jmxremote.port=portNum The question that I am trying to answer is, if you do not set that property at the command line, does Java pick another port for remote monitoring? If so, how could you determine what it might be?

• How to get user input before saving a file in Sublime Text

  I'm making a plugin in Sublime Text that prompts the user for a password to encrypt a file before it's saved. There's a hook in the API that's executed before a save is executed, so my naïve implementation is: class TranscryptEventListener(sublime_plugin.EventListener): def on_pre_save(self, view): # If document is set to encode on save if view.settings().get('ON_SAVE'): self.view = view # Prompt user for password message = "Create a Password:" view.window().show_input_panel(message, "", self.on_done, None, None) def on_done(self, password): self.view.run_command("encode", {password": password}) The problem with this is, by the time the input panel appears for the user to enter their password, the document has already been saved (despite the trigger being 'on_pre_save'). Then once the user hits enter, the document is encrypted fine, but the situation is that there's a saved plaintext file, and a modified buffer filled with the encrypted text. So I need to make Sublime Text wait until the user's input the password before carrying out the save. Is there a way to do this? At the moment I'm just manually re-saving once the encryption has been done: def on_pre_save(self, view, encode=False): if view.settings().get('ON_SAVE') and not view.settings().get('ENCODED'): self.view = view message = "Create a Password:" view.window().show_input_panel(message, "", self.on_done, None, None) def on_done(self, password): self.view.run_command("encode", {password": password}) self.view.settings().set('ENCODED', True) self.view.run_command('save') self.view.settings().set('ENCODED', False) but this is messy and if the user cancels the encryption then the plaintext file gets saved, which isn't ideal. Any thoughts? Edit: I think I could do it cleanly by overriding the default save command. I hoped to do this by using the on_text_command or on_window_command triggers, but it seems that the save command doesn't trigger either of these (maybe it's an application command? But there's no on_application_command). Is there just no way to override the save function?

• Compiling and using NTL c++ library for Windows

  Hi there, I have compiled the NTL inifite precision integer arithmetic library for c++, using Microsoft Visual Studio 2008. I did as explained, on this site, using the Visual Studio interface, rather than from the command prompt. Actually I would rather do it from the command prompt, but I was not sure how to. Anyhow, I got the library compiled, and I now want to compile a program using the library, from the command prompt. The program I am trying to compile, has been tested on a linux system, where I compile it with the following c++ -I/appl/htopopt/Linux_x86_64/NTL-5.4.2/include mpqs.cpp main.cpp -o main -L/appl/htopopt/Linux_x86_64/NTL-5.4.2/lib -lntl -L/appl/htopopt/Linux_x86_64/gmp-4.2.1/lib -lgmp -lm Nevermind the gmp stuff, I dont have that installed on Windows. It is purely an optional thing that will make the NTL run faster. Anyhow, this works fine on linux. • Stop VBA Evaluate from calling target function twice

  I am having trouble getting VBA's Evaluate() function to only execute once; it seems to always run twice. For instance, consider the trivial example below. If we run the RunEval() subroutine, it will call the EvalTest() function twice. This can be seen by the two different random numbers that get printed in the immediate window. The behavior would be the same if we were calling another subroutine with Evaluate instead of a function. Can someone explain how I can get Evaluate to execute the target function once instead of twice? Thank you. • Integration Testing an Entire *Existing* Application (w/ automatic execution of test suite)

  Hi there, I have just joined a team working on an existing Java web app. I have been tasked with creating an automated integration test suite that should run when developers commit to our continuous integration server (TeamCity), which automatically deploys to our staging server - so really the tests will be run against our staging web app server. I have read a lot of stuff about automated integration testing with frameworks like Watir, Selenium and RWebSpec. I have created tests in all of these and while I prefer Watir, I am open to anything. The thing that hasn't become clear to me is how to create an entire test suite for an application, and how to have that suite execute in it's entirety upon execution of some script. I can happily create individual tests of varying complexity, but there is a gap in my knowledge about how to tie everything together into something useful. Does anyone have any advice on how to create a full test suite and have it execute automatically? Thanks!

I think I have both SQL CE and SQL EE installed on my computer but I have some doubts about these DBMS and I don't know exactly how to use SQLCMD utility so I hope someone here will have time and will to explain me the following: Since running sqlcmd -S.\sqlexpress at command prompt command gives "1" prompt I assume I have SQL express installed but anyway how can I be sure what I have installed on my machine since I cannot find in installed programs SQL Express Edition name? Can I ship and use database with my C# (VC# Express) application which was created with SQL EE (embedded?)? How can use sqlcmd for learning SQL, that is by issuing commands like create, use, select..., again emphasize is on learning SQL I do not want to run scripts but use interactive command prompt like with MySQL (since I want to use SQL I would pretty much like to avoid graphical tools for DBMS)?   Hi, I urgently need help, please. WebtextEdit ClientSideEvent execute javascript statement on mousemove event. I can successfully change the style of another object type on this WebTextEdit ClientSide MouseMove event: document.getElementById("Object2").style.backgroundColor = '#F0F5F7'; But when I want to change the style of the WebTextEdit control: document.getElementById("WebTextEdit1").style.backgroundColor = '#F0F5F7'; Then nothing happens. When I execute the script on the same WebTextEdit Clientside for another object which is not a WebtextEdit: Object2.style.border='1px solid #FFE6A0'; Then it works. But when I want to change the WebtextEdit Clientside style: WebTextEdit1.style.border='1px solid #FFE6A0'; Then I get Error: Can't Eval WebTextEdit1.style.border='1px solid #FFE6A0';

  My Pylons app uses local MySQL server via SQLAlchemy and python-MySQLdb. When the server is restarted, open pooled connections are apparently closed, but the application doesn't know about this and apparently when it tries to use such connection it receives "MySQL server has gone away": File '/usr/lib/pymodules/python2.6/sqlalchemy/engine/default.py', line 277 in do_execute cursor.execute(statement, parameters) File '/usr/lib/pymodules/python2.6/MySQLdb/cursors.py', line 166 in execute self.errorhandler(self, exc, value) File '/usr/lib/pymodules/python2.6/MySQLdb/connections.py', line 35 in defaulterrorhandler raise errorclass, errorvalue OperationalError: (OperationalError) (2006, 'MySQL server has gone away') This exception is not caught anywhere so it bubbles up to the user. If I should handle this exception somewhere in my code, please show the place for such code in a Pylons WSGI app. Or maybe there is a solution in SA itself?
