  • Debugging fortran code in Eclipse with Photran and GDB debugger: missing symbols

    I have a program, written in fortran90, previously successfully compiled on a compaq compiler and working, that I'm now trying to compile with gfortran. I can compile the code to an .exe and run it. It works fine until a certain point in the routine and then an error is thrown. My current configuration: Windows 7 Eclipse Juno with CDT Photran Cygwin installation with gfortran compiler and GDB debugger (gdb.exe) Configurations for the debugger: GDB command set: Standard (Windows) Protocol: mi Shared libraries: don't load shared library symbols automatically (when activating this, no changes are noted). When running the debug command I get the following output: .gdbinit: No such file or directory. Reading symbols from /cygdrive/c/Users/thys/Documents/doctoraat/12_in progress/Hamfem/Debug/Hamfem.exe...done. auto-solib-add on Undefined command: "auto-solib-add". Try "help". Warning: C:/Users/thys/Documents/doctoraat/12_in progress/Hamfem/Hamfem/in: No such file or directory. [New Thread 5816.0x1914] [New Thread 5816.0x654] Basicly that leaves me with 2 questions: Where can I find the .gdbinit file in the cygwin installation? Are there any other possible errors in my setup, or points to think about?

  • Firefox DOMContentLoaded event problem

    Hi, i've created a script that works with the Dom so it has to wait until the Dom is ready before execute every operation. I want that this script can be included in two ways: In the head tag so that it is loaded before the Dom is ready. I've used document.addEventListener("DOMContentLoaded",function(){...},false) for this and it works well Loaded dinamically when the Dom is already loaded. In this case the script doesn't work because for some reasons if the Dom is already loaded the DOMContentLoaded event isn't fired So i want to know, is there a way to check if the Dom is already loaded so that the script can execute the code without using the DOMContentLoaded event?

  • emacs: Inferior-mode python-shell appears "lagged"

    Hi all - I'm a Python(3.1.2)/emacs(23.2) newbie teaching myself tkinter using the pythonware tutorial found here. Relevant code is pasted below the question. Question: when I click the Hello button (which should call the say_hi function) why does the inferior python shell (i.e. the one I kicked off with C-c C-c) wait to execute the say_hi print function until I either a) click the Quit button or b) close the root widget down? When I try the same in IDLE, each click of the Hello button produces an immediate print in the IDLE python shell, even before I click Quit or close the root widget. Is there some quirk in the way emacs runs the Python shell (vs. IDLE) that causes this "lagged" behavior? I've noticed similar emacs lags vs. IDLE as I've worked through Project Euler problems, but this is the clearest example I've seen yet. FYI: I use python.el and have a relatively clean init.el...     I'm trying to create an SQLite 3 database from Python. I have a few types I'd like to insert into each record: A float, and then 3 groups of n floats, currently a tuple but could be an array or list.. I'm not well-enough versed in Python to understand all the differences. My problem is the INSERT statement. DAS = 12345 lats = (42,43,44,45) lons = (10,11,12,13) times = (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9) import sqlite3 connection = sqlite3.connect("test.db") cursor = connection.cursor() cursor.execute( "create table foo(DAS LONG PRIMARY KEY,lats real(4),lons real(4), times real(9) )" ) I'm not sure what comes next. Something along the lines of: cmd = 'INSERT into foo values (?,?,?,?), ..." cursor.execute(cmd) How should I best build the SQL insert command given this data?

  • Rails. Putting update logic in your migrations

    A couple of times I've been in the situation where I've wanted to refactor the design of some model and have ended up putting update logic in migrations. However, as far as I've understood, this is not good practice (especially since you are encouraged to use your schema file for deployment, and not your migrations). How do you deal with these kind of problems? To clearify what I mean, say I have a User model. Since I thought there would only be two kinds of users, namely a "normal" user and an administrator, I chose to use a simple boolean field telling whether the user was an adminstrator or not. However, after I while I figured I needed some third kind of user, perhaps a moderator or something similar. In this case I add a UserType model (and the corresponding migration), and a second migration for removing the "admin" flag from the user table. And here comes the problem. In the "add_user_type_to_users" migration I have to map the admin flag value to a user type. Additionally, in order to do this, the user types have to exist, meaning I can not use the seeds file, but rather create the user types in the migration (also considered bad practice).     Hi. I wanna make an app that executes remote scripts. I am going to design it like a Windows Service that listen on tcp/ip port. Every new request I will execute a python scripts. So I can handle any number of tcp/ip request at same time, so I will need to execute python script in separate threads. How can I do that? Is that simple? The script will share some objects, like Log files(text files) and other modules. In the log file example every script will write in the same file. So the app (windows service) will be responsible for do that. I need to make this objects thread safe, right?

  • Cancel page forward/back hotkeys in Firefox with Greasemonkey

    First the background: In Firefox 3.6.3 on Mac OS X 10.5.8 when entering text into a standard the hotkey combination of Command+LeftArrow and Command+RightArrow jump the cursor to the start/end of the current line, respectively. However, when using CKEditor, FCKEditor and YUI Editor, Firefox does not seem to completely recognize that it's a text area. Instead, it drops back to the default function for those hotkeys which is to move back/forward in the browser history. After this occurs, the text in the editor is also cleared when you return to the page making it very easy to loose whatever is being worked on. I'm attempting to write a greasemonkey script that I can use to capture the events and prevent the page forward/back jumps from being executed. So far, I've been able to see the events with the following used as a .user.js script in GreaseMonkey: document.addEventListener('keypress', function (evt) { // grab the meta key var isCmd = evt.metaKey; // check to see if it is pressed if(isCmd) { // if so, grab the key code; var kCode = evt.keyCode; if(kCode == 37 || kCode == 39) { alert(kCode); } } }, false ); When installed/enabled, pressing command+left|right arrow key pops an alert with the respective code, but as soon as the dialog box is closed, the browser executes the page forward/back move. I tried setting a new code with evt.keyCode = 0, but that didn't work. So, the question is, can this Greasemonkey script be updated so that it prevents the back/forward page moves? (NOTE: I'm open to other solutions as well. Doesn't have to be Greasemonkey, that's just the direction I've tried. The real goal is to be able to disable the forward/back hotkey functionality.)

  • Waiting on multiple asynchronous calls to complete before continuing

    So, I have a page that loads and through jquery.get makes several requests to populate drop downs with their values. $(function() { LoadCategories($('#Category')); LoadPositions($('#Position')); LoadDepartments($('#Department')); LoadContact(); }; It then calls LoadContact(); Which does another call, and when it returns it populates all the fields on the form. The problem is that often, the dropdowns aren't all populated, and thus, it can't set them to the correct value. What I need to be able to do, is somehow have LoadContact only execute once the other methods are complete and callbacks done executing. But, I don't want to have to put a bunch of flags in the end of the drop down population callbacks, that I then check, and have to have a recursive setTimeout call checking, prior to calling LoadContact(); Is there something in jQuery that allows me to say, "Execute this, when all of these are done."?

This is really weird, does anyone seen this before? I'm using maven 2.2.1 BTW, the error return code 10 in windows mean "Environment is invalid.:

  • jQuery and ASP.NET drop down problem

    I have a drop down in an ASP.NET page. Whenever the value of the drop down changes an ASP.NET AJAX request is made to the server. I also attached a jQuery "change" event handler to that list to execute some code when the value is changed. So, probably two different event handlers are being attached to the same drop down, and it's causing some problems, i.e., sometimes wrong drop down values are sent to the server. I don't know why is this happening but I think attaching two different event handlers to a same drop down may be the reason. Can anyone tell me what is the problem here? If what I guessed is true, then is there any other way to execute some custom javascript code before asp.net AJAX request is sent ?

  • Why can't I see any data in the Google App Engine *Development* Console?

    I run my google app engine application in one of two ways... Directly by using the application from http://localhost:8080 Or execute unit tests from http://localhost:8080/test When I create entities by using the application directly, the data is visible in the Development Console (dataStore view). However, when I execute the unit tests... even if they succeed and I can put() and get() data, the data does not show in the dataStore view. Any idea why I can't see my data? Even though it is there? Notes: I use GAEUnit for unit tests. the data stored mostly consists of StringProperties(). I use Python and run Django on top of the GAE, don't know if that matters.

  • bash: flushing stdin (standard input)

    I have a bash script that gets some input as stdin. After processing, I copy a file using "-i" (interactive). However, this never gets executed since (I guess) standard input has not been flushed. To simplify with an example: #!/bin/bash while read line do echo $line done # the next line does not execute read -p "y/n" x echo "got $x" Place this in t.sh, and execute with: ls | ./t.sh The read is not executed. I need to flush stdin before the read. How could it do this?
