• 3 DIV's - Center Middle and Others taking up rest of room

  I need to have 3 DIV's - you can see 3 colors in the above image. The middle DIV needs always be 960px and alls needs to be centered (you can see the 2 grey lines above). The other 2 DIV's need to take up all the other available space. If I zoom in and out of the page the red and yellow DIV's need to expand with the page while the middle green one remains centered. I've tried DIV solutions and Table solutions and I can't get it to fit. • How to check if file exists in Apache

  I've set this up successfully in IIS in the past, but i'm not sure how to do it in Apache. I want to check to see if a file exists, whether it be: /path/to/file.php /path/to/file.cfm /path/to/file.html /path/to/ If the file does not exist, I want to redirect to /404/, where I have a file that does all 404 related handling. Lastly, when doing this in IIS, it gave me a CGI.QUERY_STRING of something like: 404;http://example.com/prettyurl Can apache do the same? This is what i've tried to so far, to no success.   Hi all, I was using this JQuery in this download link, and included it in the head tag of a HTML web page: <script type="text/javascript" src="http://code.jquery.com/jquery-latest.js"></script> In a php web page, I got these few lines of codes: $.ajax({ url: 'http://mywebsite.com/site1/toavail/, type: "post", success: function(data) { // some more code here } }); When I tested the HTML page in IE 6, and 7, I saw the same warning message: "permission denied" When I tested it in Firefox 3, nothing was returned from the server web page. Later, I changed the JQuery source link to be: http://code.jquery.com/jquery-1.4.2.js then I refreshed the web page, and I could saw the returned value.

• Submit form if ajax validator returns true using jquery

  I am not sure where I'm going wrong. The idea is that before the form is submitted, one of the input fields is sent to a server-side validator via ajax. If the response is 1, the input is valid and the form should be submitted. If the response is 0, the form should not be submitted. The issue is that I can't figure out how to set a variable within the ajax request function that will prevent the form from being submitted. • Solution for using `this` keyword in ajax calls within methods?

The problem I am comming accross is that I cannot use the this keyword within the AJAX callbacks due to a change in scope. I have come up with a hackey solution, but I am wondering what is the best practice way around this? • Need generated UML diagrams for C++ plugin modules

  I need various UML diagrams (sequence/collaboration, class, package, and system component) from some C++ files. However, these files are plugins in a larger programming framework. I have tried generating UML from Rational Rose 7 (2002 version), but I am not very experienced and I am unsure if RR simply cannot produce the diagram, I am doing something wrong, or the diagrams are not rendering correctly because the source files are plugins instead of standalone programs. I have also tried Star Modeler with little success and there seem to be no tutorials on how to generate these models. Is there a simple, bulletproof way to get UML diagrams for C++ files?

• Sequencing ajax requests

  I find I sometimes need to iterate some collection and make an ajax call for each element. I want each call to return before moving to the next element so that I don't blast the server with requests - which often leads to other issues. And I don't want to set async to false and freeze the browser. Usually this involves setting up some kind of iterator context that i step thru upon each success callback. I think there must be a cleaner simpler way? Does anyone have a clever design pattern for how to neatly work thru a collection making ajax calls for each item?

  So I had this structure in xml and I was able to parse it successfully. Now what I have done is that I converted this xml into a JSON using www.xmltojson.org but I am not able to parse it .   Hi guys, I'm experimenting with C#, and right now I'm trying to get a web page that needs cookies. Since I had no success doing it, I wrote this little PHP script ( directly from php.net): <?php foreach (getallheaders() as $name => $value) { echo "$name: $value\n"; } ?> but, when i run: this.WBro.Navigate("http://localhost/cookie.php", null,null,"Cookie: foo=bar"); the foo cookie isn't there, and all I got is a page displaying the "usual" headers ( except the cookie one). • Unable to import example projects from book (newbie question)

  I am trying to import projects from a book "Beginning Android 2" but when I choose the root directory the "Finish" button is still grayed out. I've tried importing the project from scratch with no success, and I've also tried to create a template project with the same name and everything and then importing into that (Import existing projects into workspace) but it always says "No projects are found to import". The contents of the folder are: Res folder, src folder with .java file, the manifest, build, and default.properties files. I am new to android dev (obviously) so I appreciate the help.

• Position DIV relative to containing DIV Without Moving Other Stuff

  [I'm not sure if this question has been asked, though I've looked around a bit.] I have a DIV inside a DIV. I would like the inner DIV to have a certain position inside the outer div. I'm having some success with this position: absolute; top: 0px;right:0px; but all other divs are getting moved around. I just want it to float on top of the other stuff (float didn't work, of course). Thanks! Edit: The outer div is relative, and I'd like the inner to move with it when the browser is resized. Edit: Sorry, I've figured out the question (but not the answer): if I use right:0px, the inner div stops moving relative to the outer div and starts moving relative to the browser window. Why would that be?

  Hi, I am getting a some unusual problem with JQuery ajax. I am using IIS to host my web application and I have http handler for which I have enabled only POST verb on it. Using JQuery ajax, I am posting data to this http handler, this is working fine in our development and testing environment and also most of the time on production environment as well. But sometimes we are getting empty post data on to the server. When we look into the csBytes on IISLog we found that it was very less compare to other success post requests. We are using JSON.js to convert the javascript object back to raw json string and latest jquery.1-3.js for posting to server. Anbody know why this is happening?

• Tool to maintain a Data Mapping between two systems

  We have XML interfaces between multiple systems. An Enterprise Domain Model is missing in the overall architecture, hence the terms Product/Customer/User means different things to different systems. We currently use excel sheets to map the elements in incoming XML to what the actual Field means within our system. Additionally, it contains the values of Mandatory/Optional and length of each field. We call this the Data Dictionary. Any changes to the XML go through rounds of deliberation and updates to Word and Excel documents. Is there a better way to do this? Any tool/GUI based approach which all systems and owners can view?

  So I just got started in Rails, and I'm trying to create an Object (a book_loan in my case) with a Form. The thing is that I get to this form by clicking on a book, so I pass the book_id as a parameter, like localhost:3000/loans/new?id=1. Now I don't want the user to be able to set the book id field in the form, since I already know the id. So my question is how to set the value in the form. I have been trying things like: <% form_for(@loan) do |f| %> <%= f.error_messages %> ... <%= @loan.book_id = params[:id] %> <%= f.submit 'Create' %> <% end %> without any success. Does anybody have a hint for me?

  I have a composite server control that does quiet a number of things; one of which is to display a ModalPopup OnClick of a dynamically generated HtmlAnchor control. I need to create this ModalPopupExtender control dynamically in my server control and trigger it from within. I have been able to create it and trigger it from a button created at design time but not at runtime. This is as a result of the ID assign to the link is always not found by the ModalPopupExtender control. I have tried assigning a static ID but no success. Can anyone help?
