  • asp.net C# variable as Image1.ImageUrl property

    - by ModS
    I would like to Click "buttonImage1" and have that store "photos/Image1.jpg" into a var called Photo. then have ButtonImage2.ImageUrl = (Photo). I am using an UpdatePanel to refresh the area with the images so the only problem is actually setting the variable correctly and then using it correctly. Reworded: how can I store a path to an image in a variable then set it correctly as a image's URL path? protected void Button2_Click(object sender, ImageClickEventArgs e) { Evt = ("~/events/ev2.jpg"); } protected void Image2_Click(object sender, ImageClickEventArgs e) { Image1.ImageUrl = (Evt); }

  • Xcode method navigation

    - by Bill
In Xcode 4, I can press Ctrl-6 to get a list of all the methods in the current file. The problem is, if I have private methods declared at the top of my implementation file, say: @interface Foo () -(void)tap:(id)sender; @end @implementation Foo ... -(void)tap:(id)sender { ... } then starting to type "tap" while the method list is visible will just take me to the declaration, since it comes first in the file, when what I really want is the implementation. Is there any way to exclude these declarations from the method list or do I need to resort to separate Foo.h and Foo+Private.h headers? Thanks!

  • pass by const reference of class

    - by small_potato
void foo(const ClassName &name) { ... } How can I access the method of class instance name? name.method() didn't work. then I tried: void foo(const ClassName &name) { ClassName temp = name; ... .... } I can use temp.method, but after foo was executed, the original name screwed up, any idea? BTW, the member variable of name didn't screwed up, but it was the member variable of subclass of class screwed up.

  • Call function by pointer and set parametrs in memory block

    - by Ellesmess Glain
Hi, I've little problem : I'm solving problem with calling function by pointer and passing to it parameters in continuous memory block. My goal is to have function named e.g CallFunc(void * func, void *params, unsigned int param_length); that I'll send function pointer, pointer to function's parameters and eventually parameters length and this calling function will call passed function with it's parameters. I will like write this in C/C++, but if somebody has idea, how this resolve in other language, that supports DLL generation and exportet functions, it will be fine too. Thanks for answers, Ellesmess P.S. I'm sorry about my English, but I'm Czech, thanks :o)

  • Android - How can I access a View object instantiated in onCreate in onResume?

    - by Chris
In my onCreate() method, I'm instantiating an ImageButton View: public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { Log.d(AntengoApplication.LOG_TAG, "BrowsePicture onCreate"); super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.layout_post); final ImageButton ib = (ImageButton) findViewById(R.id.post_image); ... In onResume, I want to be able to change the properties of the ImageButton with something like: @Override protected void onResume() { super.onResume(); ib.setImageURI(selectedImageUri); } //END onResume But onResume doesn't have access to the ib ImageButton object. If this were a variable, I'd simple make it a class variable, but Android does not allow you to define View object in the class. Any suggestions on how to do this?

  • this pointer to base class constructor?

    - by Rolle
I want to implement a derived class that should also implement an interface, that have a function that the base class can call. The following gives a warning as it is not safe to pass a this pointer to the base class constructor: struct IInterface { void FuncToCall() = 0; }; struct Base { Base(IInterface* inter) { m_inter = inter; } void SomeFunc() { inter->FuncToCall(); } IInterface* m_inter; }; struct Derived : Base, IInterface { Derived() : Base(this) {} FuncToCall() {} }; What is the best way around this? I need to supply the interface as an argument to the base constructor, as it is not always the dervied class that is the interface; sometimes it may be a totally different class. I could add a function to the base class, SetInterface(IInterface* inter), but I would like to avoid that.

  • How do I return an object that is able to execute on the server?

    - by mafutrct
Coming from a Java background, this is the way I'm thinking: The server provides an object to the client. This object should be able to execute on the server. Server: private string _S = "A"; public interface IFoo { void Bar(); } private class Foo : IFoo { void Bar() { _S = "B";} } public IFoo GetFoo() { return new Foo(); } Client: IFoo foo = serverChannel.GetFoo(); foo.Bar(); Remoting is legacy (everyone keeps pointing to WCF instead) and WCF does not support this at all basically ( http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2431510 ), so how should I implement this kind of behavior? Using 3rd party components is possible iff required. I searched on SO but found no similar question. If this has indeed been answered before, just let me know and I'll delete.

  • The big last_insert_id() problem, again.

    - by wretrOvian
Note - this follows my question here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2983685/jdbc-does-the-connection-break-if-i-lose-reference-to-the-connection-object Now i have a created a class so i can deal with JDBC easily for the rest of my code - public class Functions { private String DB_SERVER = ""; private String DB_NAME = "test"; private String DB_USERNAME = "root"; private String DB_PASSWORD = "password"; public Connection con; public PreparedStatement ps; public ResultSet rs; public ResultSetMetaData rsmd; public void connect() throws java.io.FileNotFoundException, java.io.IOException, SQLException, Exception { String[] dbParms = Parameters.load(); DB_SERVER = dbParms[0]; DB_NAME = dbParms[1]; DB_USERNAME = dbParms[2]; DB_PASSWORD = dbParms[3]; // Connect. Class.forName("com.mysql.jdbc.Driver").newInstance(); con = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:mysql://" + DB_SERVER + "/" + DB_NAME, DB_USERNAME, DB_PASSWORD); } public void disconnect() throws SQLException { // Close. con.close(); } } As seen Parameters.load() refreshes the connection parameters from a file every-time, so that any changes to the same may be applied on the next immediate connection. An example of this class in action - public static void add(String NAME) throws java.io.FileNotFoundException, java.io.IOException, SQLException, Exception { Functions dbf = new Functions(); dbf.connect(); String query = "INSERT INTO " + TABLE_NAME + "(" + "NAME" + ") VALUES(?)"; PreparedStatement ps = dbf.con.prepareStatement(query); ps.setString(1, NAME); ps.executeUpdate(); dbf.disconnect(); } Now here is the problem - for adding a record to the table above, the add() method will open a connection, add the record - and then call disconnect() . What if i want to get the ID of the inserted record after i call add() -like this : Department.add("new dept"); int ID = getlastID(); Isn't it possible that another add() was called between those two statements?

  • Android: Stopping method to be called twice if already running.

    - by user285831
I'm trying to prevent my application to call the same method twice in the event of a double-click, or if the user presses different buttons quickly, almost at the same time. I have clickable Views, acting as buttons, that call the same method but passing different parameters. This is the call: startTheSearch(context, getState(), what, where); Inside this method I'm creating a new Thread, because it queries a web server for the result: new Thread(new Runnable() { public void run() { progDiag = ProgressDialog.show(ctx, null, "Searching", true); getServerXML(context, what, where, searchIsCustom, mOffset); handler.sendEmptyMessage(0); } }).start(); The problem is that upon two quick clicks, the method is fired twice, two threads are created, and consequently two new activities are created. That makes my app crash. When the methods are done, and we have the result from the server, we call the handler: private Handler handler = new Handler() { @Override public void handleMessage(Message msg) { super.handleMessage(msg); try { Intent i = new Intent(Golf.this, Result.class); Bundle b = new Bundle(); b.putString("what", mWhat); b.putString("where", mWhere); b.putInt("offset", mOffset); b.putBoolean("searchIsCustom", searchIsCustom); i.putExtras(b); startActivityForResult(i, Activity.RESULT_OK); progDiag.dismiss(); } catch (Exception e) { Alerts.generalDialogAlert("Error", "settings", ctx); } } }; I tried to have a global boolean variable called "blocked" initially set to false, creating a condition like: if(!blocked){ blocked = true; new Thread(new Runnable() { public void run() { But this only seems to work on slower phones like the G1, I tried on Nexus and before it set blocked = true, the second request has was granted. So is there any way I can block the method being called if it's already running, or if the thread has started so it wont create a new one? Please, I really need to fix this. I've been developing on Android for almost 2 months now, but I'm yet to tackle that bug. Thanks in advance.

  • Is read-only auto-imlemented property possible?

    - by abatishchev
Hello. I found a topic on MSDN that talks that yes, this is possible. I did a test that seems to break this statement: using System; namespace Test { class Program { static void Main(string[] args) { Foo f = new Foo("1"); Console.WriteLine(f.Bar); // prints 1 f.Test("2"); Console.WriteLine(f.Bar);// successfully prints 2 } } class Foo { public Foo(string b) { this.Bar = b; } public string Bar { get; private set; } public void Test(string b) { // this would be impossible for readonly field! // next error would be occur: CS0191 or CS0191 // A readonly field cannot be assigned to (except in a constructor or a variable initializer) this.Bar = b; } } } Where am I wrong?

  • How do i resolve method Overlapping in java/Processing [duplicate]

    - by user3718913
This question already has an answer here: How do I compare strings in Java? 24 answers I have two methods/function in a class, called, Qestion1 and Question2, i want it in such a way that after the user has answered Question one correctly, the Question 2 method is called. Whenever i call the method 2, it displays both of them together instead exiting the first method first. Here's a dummy code to illustrate what i'm saying: void Question1() { String question="What is the capital of England?"; String Answer="London"; if(Answer=='London') { Question2(); } } void Question2() { String question="What is the capital of California?"; String Answer="Sacramento"; if(Answer=='Sacramento') { Question3(); } } Pls, this question is in no way related to that other question. Pls peruse the thread again.

  • Visual C++ CreateThread Parameter Problem

    - by Vanwaril
I have a class that contains a function that calls create thread, and needs to pass itself (this) as a parameter: DWORD threadId; HANDLE h = CreateThread( NULL, 0, runThread, this, 0, &threadId); My runThread definition is as follows: DWORD WINAPI runThread(LPVOID args) { Obj *t = (Obj*)args; t->funct(); return 0; } Unfortunately, the object t that I get in runThread() gets garbage. My Obj class has a function pointer attribute. Could that be the problem? class Obj{ void(*funct)(); and in the constructor: Obj(void(*f)()) { funct = f; } where is my mistake? The function pointer, the createThread itself, or type-casting? I tried whatever I could think of.

  • Junit | How to test parameters in a method

    - by MMRUser
    How do I test parameters inside a method itself. For example class TestClass { public void paraMethod(String para1, String para2) { String testPara1 = para1; String testPara2 = para2; } } class TestingClass { @Test public void testParaMethod () throws Exception { String myPara1 = "MyPara1"; String myPara2 = "MyPara2"; new TestClass().paraMethod(myPara1, myPara2); } } Ok, so is it possible to test if the testPara1 and testPara2 are properly set to the values that I have passed? Thanks.

  • Passing a generic class to a java function?

    - by rodo
Is it possible to use Generics when passing a class to a java function? I was hoping to do something like this: public static class DoStuff { public <T extends Class<List>> void doStuffToList(T className) { System.out.println(className); } public void test() { doStuffToList(List.class); // compiles doStuffToList(ArrayList.class); // compiler error (undesired behaviour) doStuffToList(Integer.class); // compiler error (desired behaviour) } } Ideally the List.class and ArrayList.class lines would work fine, but the Integer.class line would cause a compile error. I could use Class as my type instead of T extends Class<List> but then I won't catch the Integer.class case above.

  • Threading in java vs C#

    - by ffayyaz
I need a little confirmation over something i am confused at . I know how threads work in java. new DialList(string a , string b).start(); // where DialList is a class public class DialList extends Thread { public DialList(String a, string b) { FilePath = a; ThreadLogFile = b"; } public void run() { // some code to run in different thread } } Now i want to run same code in C# , Shall i put the code which is in run() into a method and do something like Thread t = new Thread (runcsharp); // Kick off a new thread t.Start(); static void runcsharp() { // code } or is there some other way to do it ?

  • What are these c++ statements doing

    - by codingguy3000
void useproxynum ( ) { bUseProxy = true; return; }; void useacctnum ( ) { bUseProxy = false; return; }; Can anyone give me some insight into what these c++ statements are doing? There are in a header file. bUseProxy is defined above bool bUseProxy; I'm trying to figure out what useproxynum is (method call?) and I'm also trying to figure out how to find the code behind it. This is in Visual Studio 6.

  • How to code the set method of a Map with another Map as value?

    - by Nazgulled
I normally do this to set a new Map to a private variable: public static void setListaClausulas(Map<String, Clausula> nvLista) { listaClausulas = new TreeMap<String, Clausula>(nvLista); } I suppose this is ok to set a new copy of the nvLista and all it's members and not a reference, is it? But now I have a Map inside another Map and I'm doing this: public static void setListaClausulas(Map<String, Map<String, Clausula>> nvLista) { listaClausulas = new TreeMap<String, Map<String, Clausula>>(nvLista); } Is this the correct way to do it or do you recommend something else? What I want is to set a new copy of nvLista (and all it's elements) and not copy just the reference.

  • Proper way to 100% wakes my device?

Do you have better way to make the device awakes by 100%? I repeatedly call the acquire() but I'm not sure if that is correct. Or should I just call the acquire() once? • Progress Dialog on open activity

    - by GeeXor
hey guys, i've a problem with progress dialog on opening an activity (called activity 2 in example). The activity 2 has a lot of code to execute in this OnCreate event. final ProgressDialog myProgressDialog = ProgressDialog.show(MyApp.this,getString(R.string.lstAppWait), getString(R.string.lstAppLoading), true); new Thread() { public void run() { runOnUiThread(new Runnable() { @Override public void run() { showApps(); } }); myProgressDialog.dismiss(); } }.start(); The showApps function launch activity 2. if i execute this code on my button click event on activity 1, i see the progress, but she doesn't move and afeter i have a black screen during 2 or 3 seconds the time for android to show the activity. If i execute this code in the OnCreate of Activity2 and if i replace the showApps by the code on OnCreate, Activity1 freeze 2 seconds, i don't see the progress dialog, and freeze again 2 seconds on activity 2 before seeing the result. An idea ?

  • Best way to handle storing (possibly NULL) char * in a std::string

    - by John
class MyClass { public: void setVar(const char *str); private: std::string mStr; int maxLength; //we only store string up to this length }; What's the best approach to implement setVar when the external code is quite likely to pass in NULL for an empty string (and cannot be changed)? I currently do something a bit like: void MyClass::setVar(const char *str) { mStr.assign(str ? str : "",maxLength); } But it seems kind of messy. ideas?
