    Assuming public class MyClass { public int ID {get; set; } public string Name {get; set; } } and List<MyClass> classList = //populate with MyClass instances of various IDs I can do List<MyClass> result = classList.FindAll(class => class.ID == 123); and that will give me a list of just classes with ID = 123. Works great, looks elegant. Now, if I had List<List<MyClass>> listOfClassLists = //populate with Lists of MyClass instances How do I get a filtered list where the lists themselves are filtered. I tried List<List<MyClass>> result = listOfClassLists.FindAll (list => list.FindAll(class => class.ID == 123).Count > 0); it looks elegant, but doesn't work. It only includes Lists of classes where at least one class has an ID of 123, but it includes ALL MyClass instances in that list, not just the ones that match. I ended up having to do List<List<MyClass>> result = Results(listOfClassLists, 123); private List<List<MyClass>> Results(List<List<MyClass>> myListOfLists, int id) { List<List<MyClass>> results = new List<List<MyClass>>(); foreach (List<MyClass> myClassList in myListOfLists) { List<MyClass> subList = myClassList.FindAll(myClass => myClass.ID == id); if (subList.Count > 0) results.Add(subList); } return results; } which gets the job done, but isn't that elegant. Just looking for better ways to do a FindAll on a List of Lists. Ken

  • Scriptaculous problem in IE

    Hi there. We've got this very annoying problem with Scriptaculous and Internet Explorer 7/8. We have two Effect.toggles on the same page, but only one of them is ever working (the first one). I hope it's some simple mistake in my implementation, but I can't seem to find any decent documentation. Hopefully somebody here can help.   • How do I name an array key with a key inside the array

    I have some data, yes, data. This data came from a MySQL query and it will always contain 4 items, always. I want to cache that data in an array table for use later within a web page but I want to keep the keys from the query and separate out each grouping within a multidimensional array. However to save time iterating through the array each time I want to find a given group of data, I want to call the keys of the first array the same as the ID key which is always the first key within each four items. At the minute I'm using this code: function mysql_fetch_full_result_array($result) { $table_result=array(); $r=0; while($row = mysql_fetch_assoc($result)){ $arr_row=array(); $c=0; while ($c < mysql_num_fields($result)) { $col = mysql_fetch_field($result, $c); $arr_row[$col -> name] = $row[$col -> name]; $c++; } $table_result[$r] = $arr_row; $r++; } return $table_result; } I'm currently testing this using 3 unique users, so I'm getting three rows back from the query and the data from this function ends up in the format: [0]=> . . [id] => 1 . . [name] => random name . . [tel] => random tel . . [post] => post code data [1]=> . . [id] => 34 . . [name] => random name . . [tel] => random tel . . [post] => post code data [2]=> . . [id] => 56 . . [name] => random name . . [tel] => random tel . . [post] => post code data So how do I alter the code to instead of the keys [0], [1], [2] give me the output: [1]=> . . [id] => 1 . . [name] => random name . . [tel] => random tel . . [post] => post code data [34]=> . . [id] => 34 . . [name] => random name . . [tel] => random tel . . [post] => post code data [56]=> . . [id] => 56 . . [name] => random name . . [tel] => random tel . . [post] => post code data I don't mind if the main array keys are strings of numbers rather than numbers but I'm a bit stuck, I tried changing the $table_result[$r] = $arr_row; part to read $table_result[$result['id']] = $arr_row; but that just outputs an array of one person. I know I need another loop but I'm struggling to work out how to write it.

I want to move them over the width of the div, then animate it dropping down the screen. Is there a way to accomplish this using the google api/maps provided for android?

  • Slow filesystem access

    I'm trying to diagnose a slow filesystem issue on a server I look after. It's been ongoing for quite some time, and I've run out of ideas as to what I can try. Here's the thick of it. The server itself is a Dell Poweredge T310. It has 4 SAS hard drives in it, configured at RAID5, and is running Citrix XenServer 5.6. The VM is a (relatively) old Debian 5.0.6 installation. It's given 4 cores, and 4Gb's of RAM. It has 3 volumes. A 10Gb volume (ext3) for the system, 980Gb volume (xfs) for data (~94% full), and another 200Gb volume (xfs) for data (~13% full). Now here's the weird thing. Read/write access to the 980Gb volume is really slow. I might get 5Mb/s out of it if I'm lucky. At first I figured it was actually disk access in the system, or at a hypervisor level, but ruled that out entirely as other VMs on the same host are running perfectly fine (a good couple hundred Mb/s disk r/w access). So then I started to target this particular VM. I started thinking it was XFS, but to prove it I wasn't going to attempt to change the filesystem on the 980Gb drive, with years and years of billions of files on there. So I provisioned the 200Gb drive, and did the same read/write test (basically dd), and got a good couple hundred Mb/s r/w access to it. So that ruled out the VM, the hardware, and the filesystem type.     Hi. I have 2 classes Tema(Homework) and Disciplina (course), where a Course has a Set of homeworks. In Hibernate i have mapped this to a one-to-many associations like this: <class name="model.Disciplina" table="devgar_scoala.discipline" > <id name="id" > <generator class="increment"/> </id> <set name="listaTeme" table="devgar_scoala.teme"> <key column="Discipline_id" not-null="true" ></key> <one-to-many class="model.Tema" ></one-to-many> </set> </class> <class name="model.Tema" table="devgar_scoala.teme" > <id name="id"> <generator class="increment" /> </id> <property name="titlu" type="string" /> <property name="cerinta" type="binary"> <column name="cerinta" sql-type="blob" /> </property> </class> The problem is that it will add (insert rows in the table 'Teme') but it won't delete any rows and i get no exceptions thrown. Im using the merge() method.
