  Hi, Has anyone installed Faceted Search v3.0 for MOSS working with date columns? When I map a column of DateTime type and click the Search BreadCrumb webpart "remove filter" link (next to the edit filter link) an exception is thrown. The search Breadcrumb webpart throws an error when I click the "Remove filter" link (this is the one represented by the broken link icon - next to the "Edit facet" icon). This seems to only occur after clicking the "Remove filter" link for Facets of DateTime type after which it occurs on every instance for all Facets. • UndeclaredThrowableException due to SQLException in Spring + iBatis?

  Hello, I am getting the following exception when I typo the SQL driver name or the database server is offline, basically any SQLException. I can't determine where the UndeclaredThrowableException is coming from. • AnkhSVN, mysisgit and Pageant

  I have recently installed msysgit on my machine (its running Windows 7) to use Git for some projects. A lot of my projects are under SVN, in which I use AnkhSVN in Visual Studio 2008 to commit etc. Since I have installed msysgit everytime I try to commit, update etc inside Visual Studio, the program C:\msysgit\bin\ssh.exe loads up, asks for my password, then Ankh throws an exception. I currently use Pageant to save my login credentials for SVN - I have TortoiseSVN installed, which is still working fine... Has anybody got any suggestions to get Anhk working again - without uninstalling msysgit? Thanks

• What happens to an ActiveX control (COleControl) after the call to OnDestroy() ?

  I have an ActiveX control written in C++ that runs in Internet Explorer 8. Most of the time (approx 90%) when the tab or browser containing the control is closed, there is an access violation like this: The thread 'Win32 Thread' (0x1bf0) has exited with code 0 (0x0). Unhandled exception at 0x77b3b9fd in iexplore.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation reading location 0x65007408. The access violation occurs after the call to OnDestroy() but before the call to the control's destructor. The debug output says: No symbols are loaded for any call stack frame. The source code cannot be displayed. None of my code is present in the stacktrace, although perhaps the heap was corrupted at some earlier point during execution. What lifecycle events does an ActiveX control receive between the call to OnDestroy() and the control's destructor?

Currently, I am transferring control from one ASPX file to another: if (uploadFile.PostedFile.ContentLength > 0) { inputfile = System.IO.File.ReadAllText(path); Context.Items["Message"] = inputfile; //Page1 Server.Transfer("DataMatch.aspx"); //Page1 } However, it fails on this Server.Transfer line after inserting runat="server" in the DataMatch.aspx file to the Table element like so: <table width="50%" id="tMain" runat="server"> But after making this a server control, I rebuilt it and now when I run this app it gives me exception: Error executing child request for DataMatch.aspx But I need this table to be a server control so I can make it invisible programmatically if a certain condition occurs. How else can I programmatically make this table invisible?

  I have come across a strange behavior of Java that seems like a bug. Is it? Casting an Object to a generic type (say, K) does not throw a ClassCastException even if the object is not an instance of K.   I am dealing with an interesting situation where I perform many database updates in a single transaction. If these updates fail for any reason, the transaction is rolled-back. IDbTransaction transaction try { transaction = connection.BeginTransaction(); // do lots of updates (where at least one fails) transaction.Commit(); } catch { transaction.Rollback(); // results in a timeout exception } finally { connection.Dispose(); } I believe the above code is generally considered the standard template for performing database updates within a transaction. The issue I am facing is that whilst transaction.Rollback() is being issued to SQL Server, it is also timing out on the client. Is there anyway of distinguishing between a timeout to issue the rollback command and a timeout on that command executing to completion? Thanks in advance, Ben

• Bad temperature sensors on Foxconn motherboard?

  I have a system with a Foxconn V400 series motherboard and AMD Athlon 3000+ processor. Ever since I got it a few years ago the fans (particularly the CPU fan) have been really loud. So recently I installed SpeedFan to see why they were running so fast. SpeedFan reported the CPU temperature to be 32C, and one motherboard sensor at about 26C. But the other two motherboard sensors were reporting 78C and 64C respectively. Naturally the fans were both maxed out because of this, with the CPU fan at 5800rpm and the case fan at 2400rpm. I opened the case and everything inside was literally cool to the touch, with the exception of the CPU heatsink which was slightly warm, but nowhere near 78C. It seems like the temperature sensors are either defective or being read incorrectly. Is there some way I can decrease my fan noise without risking damage to my processor? Some way to ignore those two temp sensors? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  Hello guys! I was confused with my problem. I'm using Entity Framework and want to save entities on hard disk and then to restore them. I have no problem with Serializing/Deserializing but i get an exception "The object cannot be added to the ObjectStateManager because it already has an EntityKey. Use ObjectContext.Attach to attach an object that has an existing key" when i try to add deserialized object to my datacontext. And nothing happens when i just Attach my entity to datacontext How to achieve my goal? Thx in advance! -Alexandr-

• Returning a JSON view in combination with a boolean

  What i would like to accomplish is that a partiel view contains a form. This form is posted using JQuery $.post. After a successfull post javascript picks up the result and uses JQuery's html() method to fill a container with the result. However now I don't want to return the Partial View, but a JSON object containing that partial view and some other object (Success - bool in this case).   After asking this question, it looks like I need to use Ruby's PTY Module, of which there is no documentation. I have written this code to try to push content to Google App Engine because the python command sometimes asks me for my username and password.   From the MusicBrainz REST service, I get the following xml: <artist-list offset="0" count="59"> <artist type="Person" id="xxxxx" ext:score="100"> ... Using WCF and XmlSerializationFormat, I'm able to get the type and id attributes... but How do I get the "ext:score" one? This works: public class Artist { [XmlAttribute("id")] public string ID { get; set; } [XmlAttribute("type")] public ArtistType Type { get; set; } But this doesnt: [XmlAttribute("ext:score")] public string Score { get; set; } It produces a serialization exception. I've also tried just using "score", but it doesn't work. Any help?

I've run into a problem with the ExecuteResult call used to process the View. I've confirmed viewResult is not null, so the exception has to be thrown internally in ExecuteResult. What could we be missing?

Then I called thread.Abort() Will this stop func1 only OR func1 and func2 and all the functions func1 has called?? Can someone tell me where is the mistake? In advance : the entity reaches the point of update with all the properties correctly set. EF just fails to update the FK in the Database (no exception though)

  Hi, I am trying to update a replica list on a Exchange 2003 public folder. I am using the WMI namespace exchange_publicfolder to try and add an Exchange server (using the servers DN) to the AddReplica procedure. Every time I run this I get an invalid parameter as an exception. Below is the code that I am using to do this. • SharePoint thinks new Server is offline?

  I added an index server to the topology, and tried to switch it from the front end to the index server but for some reason I get an exception every time in Central Admin saying the server is offline. I checked everything... IIS is running and is serving out correctly The App Pool Identity is valid I restarted IIS I restarted the Indexing server I had a wierd problem when installing SP2 for SharePoint, (WSS sp2 installed fine) where it got stuck and "Upgrading SharePoint Products and Technologies" and I had to run the following command to get it to continue: psconfig -cmd upgrade -inplace b2b -wait -force After that it said it succeeded with no errors... The only thing I haven't done is reboot the Primary server cause I have to do it in off hours, but I want to make sure I have covered all my other bases first...Any ideas?

  Hello, I have a problem reading OWL/XML files from Java using Jena. I have no problem reading RDF/XML files, but whenever I create a OWL/XML file from Protege and try to read it, Java gives this error below : WARN [main] (RDFDefaultErrorHandler.java:36) Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NullPointerException at com.hp.hpl.jena.rdf.arp.impl.XMLHandler.endElement(XMLHandler.java:143) The code that I use to retrieve RDF/XML is below : OntModel ontModel = ModelFactory.createOntologyModel(); InputStream in = FileManager.get().open(inputFileName); if (in == null) { throw new IllegalArgumentException( "File: " + inputFileName + " not found"); } ontModel.read(in, ""); This code works with RDF/XML perfectly. • EF problem with entity re-ordering and uniqueness constraint

  I am using Entity Framework and I've come to an interesting stumbling block. Let's say there is a db table "Item" with "sequence" column of type int (and others of course). Column "sequence" must be unique and it is used for (re)ordering of items. EF maps this table to "Item" class with "sequence" int property. Now let's say I want to swap position of two items by mutually exchanging each other's sequence number. Upon calling SaveChanges() EF throws an exception complaining about "sequence" uniqueness. It probably generates two UPDATEs and the first one probably fails. I assume that plain SQL solution to this issue is using a third UPDATE to introduce a unique sequence value in the process but I am stuck with EF. Any thoughts?
