  • installing by_star gem?

    Can someone shed light on how to setup by_star gem: https://rubygems.org/gems/by_star? I ran ruby script/plugin install git://github.com/radar/by_star.git. However, when I went to call a by_star method in one of my models from console, I got an undefined method error. Do I need include or require statement? Could I be missing dependent gems? Ruby version issue?

  • Rails - Clearance engine - installation issue

I'm following in the instructions, although I'm getting an error almost immediately. On the the fifth step "rake db:migrate" I get the following error: rake aborted! undefined method `configure' for Clearance:Module I have no idea what I should be doing differently?   • jquery Infinite Scroll page number

    I'm using a jQuery plugin called InfiniteScroll (https://github.com/paulirish/infinite-scroll) and I have a URL with this pattern: '/category/2/', when I paged the result I use the following pattern: "/category/2?page=2". When Infinite Scroll makes de request, he increments the wrong number, in the case above, the request is: "/category/3?page=2" in place of "/category/2?page=3". Anyone knows how workaround this?

    I love the GNU readline library, but since it is under a GPL license, I can not use it for commercial software. Do you know alternatives ? I only need the commandline history and auto completion (of customer keywords and files) features. I found this link : http://github.com/antirez/linenoise which seem to be a good starting point, but does not have auto completion. Any suggestions, surely this must be a common task for people building interactive shell commands.

    I'm trying to add a custom sort method to the Issue.rb model in Redmine from the redmine_task_board plugin. My commit on github I don't know if this is a lack of knowledge about Rails plugins on my part or something specific I have to do with Redmine. Redmine 0.8.6.stable I want this method so that when I show the Task Board show method from tasks_board_controller I can sort the tickets in each column by Issue.priority.position.   • Helping using FirePHP to debug a .php application

    Hi, just set up FirePHP and using a framework called Qcodo / Qcubed. Has anyone heard of these on SO? Been having challenges debugging -- trying to do a fairly simple new() and save() and then output via Ajax but not getting any kind of responsiveness from errors. Any help for us, two of us have checked it out but can't seem to get a response. Thanks!   • Will_paginate stuck on page 2

    For some reason my will_paginate collection is stuck on page 2. I have the usual links the view helper provides except every page after page one links to http://localhost:3000/ceo/gr_messages?page=2 I have tried to add the :order option with no luck. I have also ensured that the request is a get as mentioned on this page: http://wiki.github.com/mislav/will_paginate/simple-search Any other thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

    I'm following the Railscasts tutorial on using OpenID with AuthLogic. This command: $ script/plugin install git://github.com/rails/open_id_authentication.git installs the plugin, but I don't see any OpenID Rake tasks (rake -T). In particular, I can no longer run the task: $ rake open_id_authentication:db:create With previous applications, the Rake tasks were installed without a problem, so what's changed with the plugin? Which version of the plugin do I need to get the behavior I'm looking for? Using Rails 2.3.5.

  • How to bundle a native library and a JNI library inside a JAR?

    The library in question is Tokyo Cabinet. I want is to have the native library, JNI library, and all Java API classes in one JAR file to avoid redistribution headaches. There seems to be an attempt at this at GitHub, but It does not include the actual native library, only JNI library. It doesn't work (for me): when I use this JAR, the JVM does not even seem to find the JNI library which is packaged inside the JAR: java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: no jtokyocabinet in java.library.path (tokyo_cabinet.clj:19)

    I've been trying to install Shoulda script/plugin install git://github.com/thoughtbot/shoulda.git but all I get is: removing: C:/Documents and Settings/Danny/My Documents/Projects/Ruby On Rails/_ProjectName_/vendor/plugins/shoulda/.git > And the vender/plugins directory is empty. I have Rails 2.1.1 installed as a gem and have verified that 2.1.1 is loaded (using a puts inserted into config/boot.rb). Any ideas about what's going on? (this is on a windows box)

  • How can I use Mongrel for my non-rails ruby webapp?

    I've got a non-RoR but ruby webapp in the works. So far, I've just been using requests, hacks, and mod_ruby; but I'd really like to try out Mongrel--which seems to work really well for RoR sites. I looked at the examples given in GitHub, and none of them does dynamic changing of content w/o having to restart Mongrel like you can do in RoR under dev mode. How can I do this? (Just using load doesn't work.)

    In lager.elr (the main module of https://github.com/basho/lager) there is no function with name "debug" but I have an application that call debug function from lager module like: lager:debug(Str, Args) I am beginner in Erlang but I know when we call a function from a module lile "mymodule:myfunction" there should be a function with name "myfunction" in file mymodule.erl but in this case when I search in lager.erl for function "debug" I can't find it.
