• Dialog, LinearLayout, ScrollView size issues

  I'm building a dialog class which inherits from Dialog, and all internal UI is programmatic. It's structured in the following way: Dialog +LinearLayout ++TextView ++ScrollView +++LinearLayout ++++ListView Unfortunately, when I show() the Dialog, it's too short. I'd like it to maximize and cover as much of the screen as possible, but only when there are enough items in the ListView to warrant it. I haven't found my answer in the docs, and I haven't been able to get it to work by setting WRAP_CONTENT as layout parameters, or setting heights manually. What is the proper way to approach this? • Rails choking on the content of this request because of protect_from_forgery

  I'm trying to simply test my RESTful API with cURL. Using the following invocation: curl -d "name=jimmy" -H "Content-Type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded" http://127.0.0.1:3000/people.xml -i Rails is dying though: ActionController::InvalidAuthenticityToken (ActionController::InvalidAuthenticityToken): :8:in `synchronize' Looks like it's running this through a protect_from_forgery filter. I thought protect_from_forgery is excluded for non-HTML HTTP POST/PUT/DELETE type requests? This is clearly targeting the XML format. If I pass actual XML content, it works. But my users will be submitting POST data as URL encoded parameters. I know all the various ways I can disable protect_from_forgery but what's the proper way of handling this? I want to leave it on so that when I do have HTML based forms and handle format.html, I don't forget to re-enable it for then. I want users to be able to make HTTP POST requests to my XML-based API though and not get bombarded with this.

• How to bind a List of a DataObject to a Grid with BindingSources?

  In an assembly I created a class like the following: [DataObject(true)] public class A { public int Foo{get;set;} [DataObjectMethod[DataObjectMethodType.Select)] public static List<A> GetAllA(string ConnectionString) { // return filled List<A> } } Now I want to display this List with a Gridcontrol under Winforms. I though of a DataGrid. Though I'm coming from ASP.net I'd first think of this.dataGridView1.DataSource = A.GetAllA(ConnectionString) Works, but I'd prefer a better databinding with BindingSources. (Because I've always heard that thats the way to go) I managed to drop a BindingSource onto the form and set the DataSource property to class A. But where can I set the SelectMethod and its parameters? If I set DataSource property of the dataGridView to the BindingSource, it will only display an empty line. Is this the right way to go? Will it only require some additional clicks in the wizard, or do I need to read tons of documentation to get this working?

• Rails Routing Broken In Production - Caching of routes.rb suspected

  Hi folks, i have an urgent problem. Essentially, my routing works on my localhost. But when i deployed this to production, the routes does not seem to work correctly. For example, given a new route "/invites" - sometimes i will get a 404, and sometimes it will work correctly. I suspect there is some caching going on somewhere, but i am not sure. • stringtemplate .net dynamic object

  Hi I am using string template to render some content, but the content may be variable so not sure how to pass it in (using .net / c#) Basic idea is I have a List which need to end up as parameters, e.g. List<KeyValuePair<string, object>> ret = new List<KeyValuePair<string, object>>(); ret.Add(new KeyValuePair<string, object>("elem1", true)); ret.Add(new KeyValuePair(string, object>("elem2", false)); Now I want these to show up in string template as: $item.elem1$ $item.elem2$ I can get them to be $elem1$ or $elem2$ but i need them inside of a structure. So I in effect need to convince the string template setAttribute that I'm passing in an object with properties elem1 and elem2 when in fact I have a List of KeyValuePairs. Thanks

Last friday we installed some windows updates. After the reboot tomcat doesn't start anymore, with error: Error occurred during initialization of VM Could not reserve enough space for object heap We reduced the parameter -Xmx1024m to -Xmx768m and now tomcat starts. • WWSAPI and setting "soapenv:Header" values

  I'm trying to connect to a web service from a C++ app using WWS. I got the base connection working just fine. My XML message has two parts though, a header (soapenv:Header) and a body (soapenv:Body). the generated functions only fill in the body. How do I set the Header information? I assumed it has something to do with WsSetHeader() or WsAddCustomHeader() but can't seam to find the right values to use in the parameters. Can someone point me in the right direction here? I've been googling and trying to research this now for several days and am finding many sources for basic help with WWSAPI, but nothing seams to go deeper into how to use it for more advanced applications. any good links or resources to find more advanced help on WWSAPI? • Cisco ASA: Allowing and Denying VPN Access based on membership to an AD group

  I have a Cisco ASA 5505 connecting to an Active Directory server for VPN authentication. Usually we'd restrict this to a particular OU, but in this case users which need access are spread across multiple OUs. So, I'd like to use a group to specify which users have remote access. I've created the group and added the users, but I'm having trouble figuring out how to deny users which aren't in that group. Right now, if someone connects they get assigned the correct group policy "companynamera" if they are in that group, so the LDAP mapping is working. However, users who are not in that group still authenticate fine, and their group policy becomes the LDAP path of their first group, i.e. CN=Domain Users,CN=Users,DC=example,DC=com, and then are still allowed access. How do I add a filter so that I can map everything that isn't "companynamera" to no access? • Built in method to encode ampersands in urls returned from Url.Action?

  I am using Url.Action to generate a URL with two query parameters on a site that has a doctype of XHTML strict. Url.Action("ActionName", "ControllerName", new { paramA="1" paramB="2" }) generates: /ControllerName/ActionName/?paramA=1&paramB=2 but I need it to generate the url with the ampersand escaped: /ControllerName/ActionName/?paramA=1&amp;paramB=2 The fact that Url.Action is returning the URL with the ampersand not escaped breaks my HTML validation. My current solution is to just manually replace ampersand in the URL returned from Url.Action with an escaped ampersand. Is there a built in or better solution to this problem?

• CentOS Client - Unable to Establish iSCSI connection with multiple interfaces on the initiator

  So after upgrading to CentOS 6.2, I am seemingly no longer able to login into my iSCSI targets. I have multiple interfaces on different subnets on the system, and I first thought that it had to do with the fact that I may not be binding correct interfaces, which seems to be the case when looking at netstat, as this is clearly wrong: [root]? netstat -na|grep .90 tcp 0 1 10.10.100.60:42354 10.10.8.90:3260 SYN_SENT tcp 0 1 10.10.100.60:40777 10.10.9.90:3260 SYN_SENT I then went ahead and disabled all but one interface, and so as a result netstat appears to be correct, but the issue with login remains. I am positive that the target never sees a packet, because I see nothing by SYN_SENT. I know the problem is on my client, because the target is servicing multiple systems, none of which are CentOS 6.2. At this point I am pretty confident that some things changed between CentOS 6.0/6.1 and 6.2. So, if anyone have any thoughts, or ran into this, I would very much like to hear your thoughts. I went a few weeks back and grabbed a snapshot of this system from before upgrading to 6.2. I spun up a new system from the snapshot, and reconfigured interface info and host keys, as well as iSCSI initiator and iscsi interface info to match new MACs. Changed nothing else. Then, I attempted to connect to my targets, and no issues at all. I cannot say that this was unexpected. I then went ahead and compared sysctl settings from both systems and there were differences after the upgrade, but nothing seemingly relevant to iSCSI or IP that could contribute to this. I also noticed that by default now two sessions per connection were enabled after the upgrade, but I changed it back to 1 session in /etc/iscsi/iscsid.conf. On the problematic system we can see that source interface is seemingly wrong, but even when I disable the 10.10.100 interface, problems persist. So, while this may be relevant, I could not validate it for certain. Needless to say, further research is necessary. Something is clearly different between releases. It is quite obscure and I doubt this will happen to anyone else any time soon. It turns out that setting iface.iscsi_ifacename and iface.hwaddress in the interfaces configuration file is not legal. When one manually adds an iscsi target, such as below, all settings from the interface config file are copied into the node config file, that gets created by the below command. Result is parameters iface.iscsi_ifacename and iface.hwaddress together in the same config file. These parameters are seemingly mutually exclusive, which does not exactly make sense, or there is perhaps an oversight in the codepath. • Get jQuery post redirect response

  I've written some HTML/Javascript that sits on a third-party server for security reasons. This page performs a javascript post to another page on the same site. However, instead of responding with useful data, it instead wants to perform a redirect (if you would post via a normal HTML form to this page, it would redirect your browser). How can I process this process? I basically want to be able to extract the url's query parameters that it is trying to redirect with (and then put this link into a hidden form field). Here is my basic ajax post... $.ajax({ url: '/someurl/idontcontrol', data: serialized_form_data, async: false, type: 'POST', success: function(data, textStatus) { $('#redirect_link').val(WHAT_DO_I_PUT_HERE); } }); Note that the URL I am posting to is not one that I control, so I have no power over what it returns.   I'm trying to clean my code to make it unit-testable. I know that unit tests must be created while coding but... I have to do it now, with code completed. My business class is full of methods with a similar implementation like: var rep=new NHrepository<ModelClass1>(Session); rep.Where(x=>x.Field1==1).ToList(); first error (from my point of view) is that I don't have to use "new" but instead use DI and add in the ctor parameters a INHrepository modelClass1Repository. If in my class I have two or more repository of different model class? Each must be in the ctor? Or probably business class is not build with SeparationOfConcern principle?

• Regression tests for T-SQL stored procedures

  Hi, I would like to regression test t-sql stored procedures. My idea is to specify for each SP multiple input parameter sets. The SP should be executed with these parameters, results should be written to disc. Next time the new results should be compared with results stored before. Does anybody know a good tool for something like that? Should not be that hard to implement, but in practice you will need functionality like "ignore that column" or something like that.   Hello! [I am rather new to Java and Object Oriented programming] I have an abstract class Moveable with the method abstract void move() which is extended by the class Bullet and the abstract class Character, and Character is extended by the class Survivor and the class Zombie. In Survivor and Bullet the move() method doesnt require any parameters while in the class Zombie the move() method depends on the actual position of the survivor. The survivor and multiple zombies are created in the class Gui. I wanted to access the survivor in Zombie - what's the best way of doing this? In Gui i wrote a method getSurvivor() but i don't see how to access this method in Zombie? I am aware that as a workaround i could just pass a [Survivor survivor] as parameter in move() and ignore it in Bullet and Survivor, but that feels so ... bad practice. Thank you for your time! • How do I make a google larger by scale

  I've just started using google charts and want to use it in a small project I'm workin on but I've bumped into a problem. The thing is I want the charts rather big at a static size and look good but I'm generating the charts dynamically with php. Now the problem is that I can't get it to scale properly in width but height is perfectly fine. Here's an example chart I've generated: Parameters: cht=bvo&chs=400x400 chd=t:1,4,1 chxr=2,0,4,1 chds=0,4 chco=4d89f9 chxt=x,x,y,y chxl=0:|3|7|26|1:|Correct+answers|3:|People You see how the chart fills the 400px of height but not the width. I've searched and look through the api but I can't get it right.

• Java Windows Service with Procrun, StopMethod problem

  My Java class contains the following methods: public static void main(String[] argv) //start the service public static void stop() //stop the service I'm using Procrun from Apache Commons Daemon to setup the Java class as a Windows Service. I get an error when I try to stop the service "[618 javajni.c] [error] Static method 'void main(String[])' in Class com/caphyon/service/JavaService not found". The problem is I am trying to call the stop method when the service is shutting down, but it appears to override the StopMethod with 'void main(String[])'. Here are the stop and start parameters I am using when setting up the service: prunsrv.exe //US//JavaService --StartClass=com.caphyon.service.JavaService --StartMode=jvm --StartPath="C:\JavaService" prunsrv.exe //US//JavaService --StopClass=com.caphyon.service.JavaService --StopMode=jvm --StopPath="C:\JavaService" --StopMethod="void stop()" How do I set the StopMethod prunsrv will call when shutting down the service?

• Can't pass a single parameter to lambda function in MVVM Light Toolkit's RelayCommand

  I don't know if there's a difference between Josh Smith's and Laurent Bugnion's implementations of RelayCommand or not, but everywhere I've looked, it sounds like the Execute portion of RelayCommand can take 0 or 1 parameters. I've only been able to get it to work with 0. When I try something like: public class Test { public RelayCommand MyCommand { get; set; } public Test() { MyCommand = new RelayCommand((param) => SomeFunc(param)); } private void SomeFunc( object param) { } } I get the error: Delegate 'System.Action' does not take '1' arguments. Just to make sure I am not insane, I went to the definition of RelayCommand to make sure I didn't have some rogue implementation in my solution somewhere, but sure enough, it was just Action, and not Action<. What on earth am I missing here?

• Can a PL/pgSQL function contain a dynamic subquery?

  I am writing a PL/pgSQL function. The function has input parameters which specify (indirectly), which tables to read filtering information from. The function embeds business logic which allows it to select data from different tables based on the input arguments. The function dynamically builds a subquery which returns filtering data which is then used to run the main query. My questions are: Is it 'legal' to use a dynamic subquery in a PL/pgSQL function. I cant see why not - but this question is related to the next one. AFAIK, PL/pgSQL are cached or precompiled by the query engine. How does having a function that generates dynamic subqueries impact the work of the query engine?

I was wondering if there is an easy way to call a void* as a function in C without first declaring a function pointer and then assigning the function pointer the address; ie. assuming the function to be called is type void(void) void *ptr; ptr = <some address>; ((void*())ptr)(); /* call ptr as function here */ with the above code, I get error C2066: cast to function type is illegal in VC2008 If this is possible, how would the syntax differ for functions with return types and multiple parameters?

• CLR debugger and 'var'

  I'm using the CLR debugger (version 8, from "Visual Studio 2005") to debug some C# code. I can step through my code, but for many variables, the debugger won't show me its value. That is, if I type it in the "Immediate" frame or add it to the "Watch" frame, it says "Unable to evaluate the expression.". It seems to do this a lot for var variables, but I'm also seeing it for parameters and properties, too. I have not been able to figure out what the pattern is. Is there a rule for when it can display the value of a variable? Is there something I need to do to my code, or in my build script, to make the debugger able to view variables? Or is there a hidden debugger setting?

I would like to submit this form and pass a hash, having the Add.id function as the key of the hash, and the selection box option pass as the information in the hash.   Hi all! I'm trying to write an evaluation function for a game of checkers that I'm developing but I can't find the right documentation. I've read several documents on the web witch describe different techniques for either writing one or letting the computer find it(using genetic algorithms or Bayesian learning) but they're too complicated for a novice like me. All documents pointed a reference to "Some studies in machine learning using the game of checkers" by A.L.Samuel but I couldn't get my hands on it yet :(. I've only read the follow up "Some studies in machine learning using the game of checkers -II" and found some good info there, but it doesn't explain what the eval parameters mean (I think I don't have the whole article).   I am assigned to a performance-tuning-debugging-troubleshooting task. Scenario: a multi-application environment running on several networked machines using databases. OS is Unix, DB is Oracle. Business logic is implemented across applications using synchronous/asynchronous communication. Applications are multi-user with several hundred call center users at peak time. User interfaces are web-based. Applications are third party, I can get access to developers and source code. I only have the production system and a functional test environment, no load test environment. Problem: bad performance! I need fast results. Management is going crazy. I got symptom examples like these: user interface actions taking minutes to complete. Seaching for a customer usually takes 6 seconds but an immediate subsequent search with same parameters may take 6 minutes. What would be your strategy for finding root causes?

• Soft keyboard does not show when Activity starts

  I have added android:windowSoftInputMode="stateAlwaysVisible" to my Activity in AndroidManifest.xml and here's my layout: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:orientation="vertical" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent"> <EditText android:id="@+id/EditText01" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content"></EditText> <EditText android:id="@+id/EditText02" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content"></EditText> <Button android:id="@+id/Button01" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="Send"></Button> </LinearLayout> When the Activity starts, the EditText is focused, but soft keyboard isn't displayed. If I click on the EditText, then I see the soft keyboard. Do I need to set aditional parameters to display soft keyboard when my Activity starts? Thanks
