  • How to get all possible generic type in StructureMap?

    - by Soul_Master
    I just used StructureMap few days ago. I use StructureMap for collecting all validator class like the following code. public class BaseClassA {} public class ClassB : BaseClassA {} public class ClassC : BaseClassB {} public BaseClassAValidator : IValidator<BaseClassA>() {} In StructureMap, I only register IValidator interface for BaseClassAValidator class. But I want to get the same result when I call IValidator or IValidator that mean StructureMap should return IValidator where T is requested class or parent class of requested class. Is it possible? Or I need to manually call it.

  • Converting C# class to JavaScript

    - by AgileMeansDoAsLittleAsPossible
    Take a look at this basic class: namespace AcmeWeb { public string FirstName { get; set; } public class Person { public Person(string firstName, string lastName) { if (String.IsNullOrEmpty(firstName)) { throw new ArgumentNullException(firstName); } this.FirstName = firstName; } } } What's the best translation of this into JavaScript? This is what I'm thinking: (function(namespace) { namespace.Person = function(firstName, lastName) { // Constructor (function() { if (!firstName) { throw "'firstName' argument cannot be null or empty"; } })(); // Private memberts var _ = { firstName: firstName }; // Public members this.firstName = function(value) { if (typeof(value) === "undefined") { return _.firstName; } else { _.firstName = value; return this; } }; }; })(AcmeWeb);

  • Abstract class and an inheritor: is it possible to factorize .parent() here?

    - by fge
    Here are what I think are the relevant parts of the code of these two classes. First, TreePointer (original source here): public abstract class TreePointer<T extends TreeNode> implements Iterable<TokenResolver<T>> { //... /** * What this tree can see as a missing node (may be {@code null}) */ private final T missing; /** * The list of token resolvers */ protected final List<TokenResolver<T>> tokenResolvers; /** * Main protected constructor * * <p>This constructor makes an immutable copy of the list it receives as * an argument.</p> * * @param missing the representation of a missing node (may be null) * @param tokenResolvers the list of reference token resolvers */ protected TreePointer(final T missing, final List<TokenResolver<T>> tokenResolvers) { this.missing = missing; this.tokenResolvers = ImmutableList.copyOf(tokenResolvers); } /** * Alternate constructor * * <p>This is the same as calling {@link #TreePointer(TreeNode, List)} with * {@code null} as the missing node.</p> * * @param tokenResolvers the list of token resolvers */ protected TreePointer(final List<TokenResolver<T>> tokenResolvers) { this(null, tokenResolvers); } //... /** * Tell whether this pointer is empty * * @return true if the reference token list is empty */ public final boolean isEmpty() { return tokenResolvers.isEmpty(); } @Override public final Iterator<TokenResolver<T>> iterator() { return tokenResolvers.iterator(); } // .equals(), .hashCode(), .toString() follow } Then, JsonPointer, which contains this .parent() method which I'd like to factorize here (original source here: public final class JsonPointer extends TreePointer<JsonNode> { /** * The empty JSON Pointer */ private static final JsonPointer EMPTY = new JsonPointer(ImmutableList.<TokenResolver<JsonNode>>of()); /** * Return an empty JSON Pointer * * @return an empty, statically allocated JSON Pointer */ public static JsonPointer empty() { return EMPTY; } //... /** * Return the immediate parent of this JSON Pointer * * <p>The parent of the empty pointer is itself.</p> * * @return a new JSON Pointer representing the parent of the current one */ public JsonPointer parent() { final int size = tokenResolvers.size(); return size <= 1 ? EMPTY : new JsonPointer(tokenResolvers.subList(0, size - 1)); } // ... } As mentioned in the subject, the problem I have here is with JsonPointer's .parent() method. In fact, the logic behind this method applies to TreeNode all the same, and therefore to its future implementations. Except that I have to use a constructor, and of course such a constructor is implementation dependent :/ Is there a way to make that .parent() method available to each and every implementation of TreeNode or is it just a pipe dream?

  • Custom route does not work in ASP.net MVC 3

  • Is there such a thing as a MemberExpression that handles a many-to-many relationship?

    - by Jaxidian
    We're trying to make it easy to write strongly-typed code in all areas of our system, so rather than setting var sortColumn = "FirstName" we'd like to say sortOption = (p => p.FirstName). This works great if the sortOption is of type Expression<Func<Person, object>> (we actually use generics in our code but that doesn't matter). However, we run into problems for many-to-many relationships because this notation breaks down. Consider this simple code: internal class Business { public IQueryable<Address> Addresses { get; set; } public string Name { get; set; } } internal class Address { public State MyState { get; set; } } internal class State { public string Abbreviation { get; set; } public int StateID { get; set; } } Is it possible to have this sort of MemberExpression to identify the StateID column off of a business? Again, the purpose of using this is not to return a StateID object, it's to just identify that property off of that entity (for sorting, filtering, and other purposes). It SEEMS to me that there should be some way to do this, even if it's not quite as pretty as foo = business.Addresses.SomeExtension(a => a.State.StateID);. Is this really possible? If more background is needed, take a look at this old question of mine. We've since updated the code significantly, but this should give you the general detailed idea of the context behind this question.

  • wifi provider onLocationChanged is never called

    - by Kelsie
    I got a weird problem. I uses wifi to retrieve user location. I have tested on several phones; on some of them, I could never get a location update. it seemed that the method onLocationChanged is never called. My code is attached below.. Any suggestions appreciated!!! @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.main); LocationManager locationManager; locationManager = (LocationManager)getSystemService(Context.LOCATION_SERVICE); String provider = locationManager.NETWORK_PROVIDER; Location l = locationManager.getLastKnownLocation(provider); updateWithNewLocation(l); locationManager.requestLocationUpdates(provider, 0, 0, locationListener); } private void updateWithNewLocation(Location location) { TextView myLocationText; myLocationText = (TextView)findViewById(R.id.myLocationText); String latLongString = "No location found"; if (location != null) { double lat = location.getLatitude(); double lng = location.getLongitude(); latLongString = "Lat:" + lat + "\nLong:" + lng; } myLocationText.setText("Your Current Position is:\n" + latLongString); } private final LocationListener locationListener = new LocationListener() { public void onLocationChanged(Location location) { updateWithNewLocation(location); Log.i("onLocationChanged", "onLocationChanged"); Toast.makeText(getApplicationContext(), "location changed", Toast.LENGTH_SHORT).show(); } public void onProviderDisabled(String provider) {} public void onProviderEnabled(String provider) {} public void onStatusChanged(String provider, int status, Bundle extras) {} }; Manifest <uses-permission android:name="android.permission.ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION" /> <uses-permission android:name="android.permission.ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION"/> <uses-permission android:name="android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE"/> <uses-permission android:name="android.permission.ACCESS_WIFI_STATE"/> <uses-permission android:name="android.permission.INTERNET"/>

  • Can two or more threads iterate over the same List<t> without any problems?

    Talking about System.Collections.Generic.List here. With example below can Method1 and Method2 execute and the same time, on different threads without any problems? • Implement two functions with the same name but different, non-covariant return types due to multiple abstract base classes

    - by user1508167
    If I have two abstract classes defining a pure virtual function with the same name, but different, non-covariant return types, how can I derive from these and define an implementation for both their functions? #include <iostream> class ITestA { public: virtual ~ITestA() {}; virtual float test() =0; }; class ITestB { public: virtual ~ITestB() {}; virtual bool test() =0; }; class C : public ITestA, public ITestB { public: /* Somehow implement ITestA::test and ITestB::test */ }; int main() { ITestA *a = new C(); std::cout << a->test() << std::endl; // should print a float, like "3.14" ITestB *b = dynamic_cast<ITestB *>(a); if (b) { std::cout << b->test() << std::endl; // should print "1" or "0" } delete(a); return 0; } As long as I don't call C::test() directly there's nothing ambiguous, so I think that it should work somehow and I guess I just didn't find the right notation yet. Or is this impossible, if so: Why?

  • Are Interfaces "Object"?

    - by PrashantGupta
    package inheritance; class A{ public String display(){ return "This is A!"; } } interface Workable{ public String work(); } class B extends A implements Workable{ public String work(){ return "B is working!"; } } public class TestInterfaceObject{ public static void main(String... args){ B obj=new B(); Workable w=obj; //System.out.println(w.work()); //invoking work method on Workable type reference System.out.println(w.display()); //invoking display method on Workable type reference //System.out.println(w.hashCode()); // invoking Object's hashCode method on Workable type reference } } As we know that methods which can be invoked depend upon the type of the reference variable on which we are going to invoke. Here, in the code, work() method was invoked on "w" reference (which is Workable type) so method invoking will compile successfully. Then, display() method is invoked on "w" which yields a compilation error which says display method was not found, quite obvious as Workable doesn't know about it. Then we try to invoke the Object class's method i.e. hashCode() which yields a successful compilation and execution. How is it possible? Any logical explanation?

  • C# how to sort a list without implementing IComparable manually?

    - by JL
    I have a fairly complex scenario and I need to ensure items I have in a list are sorted. Firstly the items in the list are based on a struct that contains a sub struct. For example: public struct topLevelItem { public custStruct subLevelItem; } public struct custStruct { public string DeliveryTime; } Now I have a list comprised of topLevelItems for example: var items = new List<topLevelItem>(); I need a way to sort on the DeliveryTime ASC. What also adds to the complexity is that the DeliveryTime field is a string. Since these structs are part of a reusable API, I can't modify that field to a DateTime, neither can I implement IComparable in the topLevelItem class. Any ideas how this can be done? Thank you

  • Where c++ really shines?

    - by pygabriel
    I know C and python, and I'm moving toward another language for learning purposes. My problem is that I like to learn things with something to do (for example contributing to some project or do something amazing, not boring plain algebra). I would like to hear suggestions about the fields in which C++ shines and where I can found interesting programming with C++. (for fields I mean networking/gui programming/algorithms/games ...)

  • Why my tracking service freezes when the phone moves?

    - by user2878181
    I have developed a service which includes timer task and runs after every 5 minutes for keeping tracking record of the device, every five minutes it adds a record to the database. My service is working fine when the phone is not moving i.e it gives records after every 5 minutes as it should be. But i have noticed that when the phone is on move it updates the points after 10 or 20 minutes , i.e whenever the user stops in his way whenever he is on the move. Do service freezes on the move, if yes! how is whatsapp messenger managing it?? Please help! i am writing my onstart method. please help @Override public void onStart(Intent intent, int startId) { Toast.makeText(this, "My Service Started", Toast.LENGTH_LONG).show(); Log.d(TAG, "onStart"); mLocationClient.connect(); final Handler handler_service = new Handler(); timer_service = new Timer(); TimerTask thread_service = new TimerTask() { @Override public void run() { handler_service.post(new Runnable() { @Override public void run() { try { some function of tracking } }); } }; timer_service.schedule(thread_service, 1000, service_timing); //sync thread final Handler handler_sync = new Handler(); timer_sync = new Timer(); TimerTask thread_sync = new TimerTask() { @Override public void run() { handler_sync.post(new Runnable() { @Override public void run() { try { //connecting to the central server for updation Connect(); } catch (Exception e) { // TODO Auto-generated catch block } } }); } }; timer_sync.schedule(thread_sync,2000, sync_timing); }

  • Change macro in VisualStudio

    - by Vaccano
    The macro 'propdp' creates a dependency property like this: public int MyProperty { get { return (int)GetValue(MyPropertyProperty); } set { SetValue(MyPropertyProperty, value); } } // Using a DependencyProperty as the backing store for MyProperty. This enables animation, styling, binding, etc... public static readonly DependencyProperty MyPropertyProperty = DependencyProperty.Register("MyProperty", typeof(int), typeof(ownerclass), new UIPropertyMetadata(0)); I would like to change it a bit. To look like this: public int MyProperty { get { return (int)GetValue(MyPropertyProperty); } set { SetValue(MyPropertyProperty, value); } } public static readonly DependencyProperty MyPropertyProperty = DependencyProperty.Register("MyProperty", typeof(int), typeof(ownerclass), new UIPropertyMetadata(0)); Can this be done? Does anyone know where to change this?

  • JPA entity relations are not populated after .persist()

    - by Tomik
    Hello, this is a sample of my two entities: @Entity public class Post implements Serializable { @OneToMany(mappedBy = "post", fetch = javax.persistence.FetchType.EAGER) @OrderBy("revision DESC") public List<PostRevision> revisions; @Entity(name="post_revision") public class PostRevision implements Serializable { @ManyToOne public Post post; private Integer revision; @PrePersist private void prePersist() { List<PostRevision> list = post.revisions; if(list.size() >= 1) revision = list.get(list.size() - 1).revision + 1; else revision = 1; } So, there's a "post" and it can have several revisions. During persisting of the revision, entity takes a look at the list of the existing revisions and finds the next revision number. Problem is that Post.revisions is NULL but I think it should be automatically populated. I guess there's some kind of problem in my source code but I don't know where. Here's my "persistence" code: Post post = new Post(); PostRevision revision = new PostRevision(); revision.post = post; em.persist(post); em.persist(revision); em.flush(); I think that after persisting "post", it becomes "managed" and all the relations should be populated from now on. Thanks for help! (Note: public attributes are just for demonstration)

    - by streetparade
    I mean an interface definition without defining the return type makes it unusable? This makes more Clear Interface run { public function getInteger(); } class MyString implements run { public function myNumber() { } public function getInteger() { return "Not a number"; } } In Java every Interface has a return type like Integer,String,Void I know that PHP is unfortunately a loosly typed Language but isnt there a Solution for that Problem? Is it Possible to defining a Interface with a Return type like Integer?
