  • C# Proxy using Sockets, how should I do this?

    I'm writing a proxy using .NET and C#. I haven't done much Socket programming, and I am not sure the best way to go about it. What would be the best way to implement this? Should I use Synchronous Sockets, Asynchronous sockets? Please help! It must... Accept Connections from the client on two different ports, and be able to receive data on both ports at the same time. Connect to the server on two different ports, and be able to send data on both ports as the same time. Immediately connect to the server and start forwarding packets as soon as a client connection is made. Forward packets in the same order they were received. Be as low latency as possible. I don't need the ability for multiple clients to connect to the proxy, but it would be a nice feature if its easy to implement.   • Meta Tags in Google Site Search

    Hi, I'm planning on implementing a google site search (and paying for it so I can get access to the XML). One thing I am wondering about is the possibility to use custom meta tags in it. I've heard yes from colleagues but nothing confirmed. Searching for an answer has given nothing (maybe because you cant?) Anybody knows? Edit: I want to be able to retrieve those meta tags from the search result to be able to provide different styling for different types of pages.

  • What's the big difference between those two binary files?

    These are two files (contained in the tar.bz2) that were generated using a just-in-time compiler for a game engine. The generated code from ui-linux.bin is from a x86_64 gcc compiler and the ui-windows.bin from the same brand of compiler but targetting win x86_64 (mingw-w64). I've attempted to debug a problem that occurs only on the windows version and i stumbled upon what it seems to be different end-binary code. However, the input assembly code was virtually identical (only difference being pointer representations as int). (there's theoretically no winabi/unixabi conflict since that's taken care of by an attribute flag on certain declarations involved). Any idea what it might be that makes these two binary codes different? The C for the mini-compiler and base assembly producing it appears compatible at first glance. http://www0.org/vm/bins.tar.bz2

  • Jquery Slide to position on click

    Here's a scenario... I have a column. In the column i have multiple divs with text inside each one. A bit like a list of categories. Which ever one is SELECTED gains a different background colour. What i would like to be able to do is use jquery so that when a different div is clicked on the background colour appears to slide behind the rest of the items until it reaches the one you selected. Does anyone have any idea if this can be done? And if so any idea on Markup? Any help is greatly appreciated.

  • Why does my PDF ask for a password after being retrieved from Visual SourceSafe?

    PREFACE: Yes we're moving away from VSS in the next few months. One of my web projects contains, as one of its files, a PDF. The PDF on our QA site is being pulled from VSS. A QA tester recently told me he's being prompted for a password when he tries to open it. VSS says the file I have on disk is different than the one it has, so I updated it, but afterwards it's still being shown as different. So basically VSS is mangling my PDF and the results are so wobbly that Adobe Acrobat Reader is confused and thinks it has a password. I've tried adding it as Auto-Detect and as Binary. Same results. Why does my PDF ask for a password after being retrieved from Visual SourceSafe and how can I prevent it?

  • capistrano put() and upload() both failing

    With capistrano, I am deploying a Rails application from Mac OS X 10.5 to CentOS 5.2 Note that deploy.rb and the server environment have not changed in over a year. There is a task within our deploy.rb file called upload: put(File.read( file ),"#{shared_path}/#{filename}", :via => :scp) This fails each and every time with the following exception: No such file or directory - /srv/ourapp/releases/20100104194410/config/database.yml My local copy of config/database.yml is failing to upload properly. I've verified it's not our internet connection, as this happens on three different connections and two different systems. I've also tried to swap out put() for upload() but get the same result; also, dropping :via = :scp, and/or trying to force :sftp instead similarly fails. Relevant info: $ cap -V Capistrano v2.5.10 $ ruby -v ruby 1.8.7 (2008-08-11 patchlevel 72) [i686-darwin9.6.0]

    This is what I think of REST architecture. For every resource, there is an unique URI. We can manipulate that object using its URI and HTTP actions [POST, GET, PUT and DELETE]. The HTTP request transfers the representation of the state of that object. In all the texts I have read, REST is explained in a weird and confusing manner. One more thing, RESTFUL implementation in rails produces different urls for different purposes. Like /teams - for 'index' method... /teams/new - for 'new' method and so on. Ain't this moving away from rest, which defines that each resource has one unique URI???

    Having a hard time fixing this or finding any good hints about it. I'm trying to loop over one file, modify each line slightly, and then loop over a different file. If the line in the second file starts with the line from the first then the following line in the second file should be written to a third file. !/usr/bin/env python with open('ids.txt', 'rU') as f: with open('seqres.txt', 'rU') as g: for id in f: id=id.lower()[0:4]+'_'+id[4] with open(id + '.fasta', 'w') as h: for line in g: if line.startswith(''+ id): h.write(g.next()) All the correct files appear, but they are empty. Yes, I am sure the if has true cases. :-) "seqres.txt" has lines with an ID number in a certain format, each followed by a line with data. The "ids.txt" has lines with the ID numbers of interest in a different format. I want each line of data with an interesting ID number in its own file.     I wanted to read images only from the Camera folder of the device. Since the folder might be different for different devices, how can I write a simple application for it). So far I have written the following code, which does read from Camera folder, but it also reads from other places on sdcard as well.     How I can setup my rails app to respond to such urls: http://mydomain.com/white-halogene-lamp http://mydomain.com/children-lamps http://mydomain.com/contact-form The first one should link to my products controller, and show my product with this name The second one should link to my categories controller, and show the category with this name The third one should link to my sites controller, and show the site with this title. All three models (product, category, site) have a method to_seo, giving the mentioned above urls (after the slash) I know it's not the restful way, but please don't disuss here, it is wrong approach or not, that's not the question. The question is how to accomplish this weird routing ? I know we have catch all routes, but how I can tell rails to use different controllers on different urls in the catch all route ? Or have You an better idea ? I would avoid redirects to other urls.

  • Save UITextView content in NSString.

    Hi, I'm trying to save the contents of an UITextView into a NSString which I will somehow persist later. The problem is that the UITextView "text" property doesn't save all the rows in the textView (after touching "return"). I tried print the TextView object and the textView.text, and they're different. Does anybody know how (after editing the textView) I can save its content into a String (or something else that I can later access and share through different views and persist in the database)? Thanks a lot. Pretty sure it is simple, but I'm honestly not finding the solution.

    I'm working on a web application, using the CAKEPHP framework. Herefor i need to request one variable on multiple pages (all pages have different controllers). it is oubvious that i get a error on several pages, since the variable isn't declared in all the different controllers. Is there a workaround for this? i've already tried the app:: import to import a controller in another controller, but this doens't seem to work (still get a undefined variable error).   • Can I encrypt value in C# and use that with SQL Server 2005 symmetric encryption?

    To be more specific, if I create a symmetric key with a specific KEY_SOURCE and ALGORITHM (as described here), is there any way that I can set up the same key and algorithm in C# so that I can encrypt data in code, but have that data decrypted by the symmetric key in Sql Server? From the research I've done so far, it seems that the IDENTITY_VALUE for the key is also baked into the cypher text, making things even more complex. I'm thinking about just trying all the various ways I can think of, ie hashing the KEY_SOURCE using different hash algorithms for a key and trying different ways of encrypting the plain text until I get something that works. Or is that just futile? Has anyone else done this, any pointers? UPDATE Just to clarify, I want to use NHibernate on the client side, but theres a bunch of stored procedures on the database side that still perform decryption.

It gives the error "EmptyHandle type name does not exist in the type System.RuntimeMethodHandle". Then I used "RuntimeMethodHandle emptyHandle = new RuntimeMethodHandle();". Another error presents. RuntimeTypeHandle does not have a CreateInstance method either. Activator has. But it does not take any ref parameter. Thanks for clarification in advance!

  • Debugging IDAPython Scripts outside of IDAPro

    I'm kinda new to scripting for IDA - nevertheless, I've written a complex script I need to debug, as it is not working properly. It is composed of a few different files containing a few different classes. Writing line-by-line in the commandline is not effective for obvious reasons. Running a whole script from the File doesn't allow debugging. Is there a way of using the idc, idautils, idaapi not from within IDA? I've written the script on PyDev for Eclipse, I'm hoping for a way to run the scripts from within it. A similar question is, can the api classes I have mentioned work on idb files without IDA having them loaded? Thanks.

  • jQuery and ASP.NET drop down problem

    I have a drop down in an ASP.NET page. Whenever the value of the drop down changes an ASP.NET AJAX request is made to the server. I also attached a jQuery "change" event handler to that list to execute some code when the value is changed. So, probably two different event handlers are being attached to the same drop down, and it's causing some problems, i.e., sometimes wrong drop down values are sent to the server. I don't know why is this happening but I think attaching two different event handlers to a same drop down may be the reason. Can anyone tell me what is the problem here? If what I guessed is true, then is there any other way to execute some custom javascript code before asp.net AJAX request is sent ?

  • Weird result with apache vs lighttpd in reverse proxy.

    I have an Apache server running in reverse proxy mode in front of a Tomcat java server. It handle HTTP and HTTPS and send those request back and forth to the Tomcat server on an internal HTTP port. I'm trying to replace the reverse proxy with Lighttpd. Here's the problem: while asking for the same HTTPS url, while using Apache as the reverse proxy, the Tomcat server redirect (302) to an HTTPS page but with Lighttpd it redirect to the same page in HTTP (not HTTPS). What does Lighttpd could do different in order to have a different result from the backend server? In theory, using Apache or Lighttpd server as a reverse proxy should not change anything... but it does. Any idea? I'll try to find something by sniffing the traffic on the backend tomcat server.

    Hi, I have a big site running under Apache and PHP and in few mounths I should consider to add some different language version of it, but I'm not sure about the right way (or ways). My problem it isn't the user data, because I can use db tables with different languages (en, de, it, etc.) so I want concentrate my answer on navigation and static content. For now I can't use gettext because I don't have a dedicated server and I can't reboot it every time I want, but surely will be a future choice. So my main problems are these: In the site, I have classical XHTML elements like the menus, lists, div and various static texts in various pages (should be perferct for gettext, but I need a alternative) The other part of the sites has XHTML elements which are dynamically created via AJAX and jQuery, and here I haven't any idea of what can I do... So does exists some example I can see in some link to solve it (or some useful tecnique)?
