• How to write custom data to the TCP packet header options field with Java?

  As it is defined (see: http://www.freesoft.org/CIE/Course/Section4/8.htm) the TCP header has an 'Options' field. There are a couple of options already defined (see: www.iana.org/assignments/tcp-parameters/) but I want to come up with my very own. (For experimenting/research.) How can I get Java to write (and then read) some custom data to the options field? Bonus question: if it cannot be done with Java. what kind of application can do this? (No, I don't really feel like messing with some kernel-level TCP/IP stack implementation, I want to keep it app level.) Thanks!

• Getting Clipboard data in raw format in c++

  I've been playing around with the windows clipboard. I noticed that you can only view the clipboard if you supply a format. I've seen programs that can dump the raw contents of the clipboard. Look at http://www.autohotkey.com/docs/misc/Clipboard.htm#ClipboardAll for an example of what I mean. Is there a way to do something similar, what I want to do is be able to back up the clipboard, manipulate it, then restore it when my program is done. I'm looking for a non-.net solution if that's actually a thing

• Google Maps 'API key' problem

  I finally got this google maps page working however, it seems that everybody except the client can see it? They're saying the following error message appears "This web site needs a different Google Maps API key. A new key can be generated at..." Here's the page: http://www.sportingemporium.com/google-map.htm When I sign-up for a new key Goggle gives me exactly the same one that I am already using! If anyone can shed any light on why I (and colleagues in many different countries) can see the map, but the client can't, it would be greatly appreiciated? Kind regards, Declan Bradley

• ASP.NET impersonations?

  Hi! I have a aspx file that suppose to write to a file in the server while loading. On the local machine it works fine, but when i deploy it to a live server it gives me an exception "Access to the path 'd:\DZHosts\LocalUser\asafz83\www.asafz83.somee.com\lala.htm' is denied." WHen i asked my serverAdmin for the reason - he told me to remove any impersonation from my web.config file. Well, my web.config file doesn't contain any impersonation, so i'm really confused: What can i do in order for this sealy-stupid application to work? thanks!

  So the USDA has some weird database of general nutrition facts about food, and well naturally we're going to steal it for use in our app. But anyhow the format of the lines is like the following: ~01001~^~0100~^~Butter, salted~^~BUTTER,WITH SALT~^~~^~~^~Y~^~~^0^~~^6.38^4.27^8.79^3.87 ~01002~^~0100~^~Butter, whipped, with salt~^~BUTTER,WHIPPED,WITH SALT~^~~^~~^~Y~^~~^0^~~^6.38^4.27^8.79^3.87 ~01003~^~0100~^~Butter oil, anhydrous~^~BUTTER OIL,ANHYDROUS~^~~^~~^~Y~^~~^0^~~^6.38^4.27^8.79^3.87 ~01004~^~0100~^~Cheese, blue~^~CHEESE,BLUE~^~~^~~^~Y~^~~^0^~~^6.38^4.27^8.79^3.87 With those odd ~ and ^ separating the values, It also lacks a header row but thats ok, I can figure that out from the other stuff on their site: http://www.ars.usda.gov/Services/docs.htm?docid=8964 Any help would be great! • django + xmppy: send a message to two recipients

  I'm trying to use xmpppy for sending jabber-messages from a django-website. This works entirely fine. However, the message only gets sent to the -first- of the recipients in the list. This happens when I run the following function from django, and also if I run it from an interactive python-shell. The weird part though, is that if I extract the -body- of the function and run that interactively, then all the recipients (there's just 2 at the moment) get the message. Also, I do know that the inner for-loop gets run the correct count times (2), because the print-statement does run twice, and return two different message-ids. And I want to hear Indian developers or developers traveled to India if there are something interesting to see in India (around Bombay) for developers in general. • What can cause a persistent "Reload the page to get source for" error in firebug?

  I'm trying to debug the javascript of a specific page, and I keep seeing Reload the page to get source for page.htm in Firebug. On Chrome, I'm mostly able to debug the js, but sometimes I also get a blank page. What can cause such issues? I believe I always see a blank page in Chrome if I reload while the JS console is open. If I open a new Chrome tab, load the page, and then open the JS console, everything is ok. The page I'm debugging is on a localhost server (Play Framework server), although I have seen this on other pages occasionally. This only happens with inline javascript ... js that is linked from the page is displayed fine.

• Float over two elements

  My problem is rather complex to explain, so I'll show you an example: http://ewolf.bplaced.de/misc/float.htm I want to have a floated element (the blue box) to be be placed over two other elements (red and green) and I want the whole thing to be fixed-width and centered (done by the box with the black border) while the background of the red and green box should fill the whole width. I'm actually not quite sure if the way I've done it now is XHTML/CSS valid, but it works - at least in Firefox. In IE6, the green box expands to fit the whole blue box - how can I fix this in IE6 or find another solution to show it correctly in all browsers?

  How is this sort order determined? Is it ranked by popularity, number of results, or a mysterious google algorithm? Does there algorithm take into account the search popularity of a query (using google-trends data or something)? Edit: I found a news article dating back to when google suggest was made public in 2004. Here is an excerpt... How does it work?   Hello, I have trouble using sed. I need to replace some lines in very deprecated HTML sites which consist of many files. My script does not work and I do not why. When I tried to find exact pattern with Netbeas it worked. find . -type f -name "*.htm?" -exec sed -i -r 's/ing\. Šuhajda Dušan\, Mírová 767\, 518 01 Dobruška\, \+420 737 980 333\,/REPLACEMENT/g' {} \; Where is the mistake? Authentication works well, bur roles always returns empty roles array for connected user. • Making a jQuery selection in IE on html added via .load()

  Scenario: I am using jQuery to lazy load some html and change the relative href attributes of all the anchors to absolute links. The loading function adds the html in all browsers. The url rewrite function works on the original DOM in all browsers.   I have downloaded databasename.bak file from my hosting company, when i tried to restore that DB file in SQL server 2008 it is keep on giving me following error. The media family on device 'C:\go4sharepoint_1384_8481.bak' is incorrectly formed. SQL Server cannot process this media family. RESTORE HEADERONLY is terminating abnormally. (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 3241) According to this error and from following link http://www.sqlcoffee.com/Troubleshooting047.htm It is clear that either file i am downloading is corrupt or it is getting corrupted on the way? Any idea, why I am keep on receiving this error? I tried almost all ways but unable to fix this problem, please help me.

• Draggble object hides outside content when wrapt in span

  I have a simple CSS problem In this site http://web.cinaird.se/pdf/test.htm I have a draggable images in the top content, I want a span that float on top of the image and for this I need a span containing the image and a span floating on top. So long no problem but now when i drag the image it hides outside the top content. so my question is as follows, how can I wrap a image and a floating span above and still be able to drag it outside the container. • Downloading HTTP URLs asynchronously in C++

  What's a good way to download HTTP URLs (e.g. such as http://0.0.0.0/foo.htm ) in C++ on Linux ? I strongly prefer something asynchronous. My program will have an event loop that repeatedly initiates multiple (very small) downloads and acts on them when they finish (either by polling or being notified somehow). I would rather not have to spawn multiple threads/processes to accomplish this. That shouldn't be necessary. Should I look into libraries like libcurl? I suppose I could implement it manually with non-blocking TCP sockets and select() calls, but that would likely be less convenient.

• How to write own DLL in Visual Studio, C language (not C++)

  Dear all, I'm trying to create my own DLL... I used wizzard in VS2008 to create template for DLL. This works fine and the dll builds successfully (Test.dll is created). BUT, when I rename the file from Test.cpp to Test.c (which I guess causes compilation in C-mode), solution rebuilds also successfully, but no .dll is created. The list of all created files follows: mt.dep BuildLog.htm vc90.idb Test.dll.embed.manifest Test.dll.intermediate.manifest Test.obj MySecondCFile.obj vc90.pdb Test.dll.embed.manifest.res For my purposes it's essential that the dll be in C not C++, while I already have a lot of code written in C, which does not compile as C++. Do you know, why .dll is not created? What should I do?

  Hi, I’m currently trying to develop a method to get a overview of all my different web templates I’ve created and (legally) downloaded over the years. I thought about a displaying them like Wordpress is previewing it’s templates view a small preview windows, displaying the concrete file with styles and everything. How to divide them into rows and columns and create AJAX modal window open on preview and pagination and so on I believe I can manage, but it is the concept itself about iterate over several folders then find all index.htm / index.html pages and displaying them. I’ve not worked very much with directories in PHP and the only references and code stumps I’ve found so far is just to list all the files in a certain directory like, what it contains. I would be really grateful if someone knew about a script, a function, snippet or just could get me a nudge in the right direction to create such a (probably simple) preview function. • jquery textarea custom tags replacement

  Hi all, I'm basically trying to create my own tags - and replace them with the right HTML tags. So {B} {/B} would turn into <b> </b> I have only got so far with this, here: http://www.nacremedia.com/text2.htm Use the [B] button to bold stuff the current selection... it creates two bold tags and one closing for some reason. I'm so close! But I just need a bit of direction to get the final bugs out - can anyone please help?? • Integrate ClickOnce update in a setup

  As recent decision in my team we decided to deploy a software we develop for some time now in ClickOnce. Previously it was deployed with a merge module in a setup project. We had in mind to actually deploy the ClickOnce setup/updater in the web server setup. The problem here would not exactly to integrate it but to make sure to limit the human work to integrate it. Normally I guess it would be necessary to "add - file" and select the folder containing the setup.exe + publish.htm + application files + .application, but I fear that for each time we publish a new version to the hard drive we have to update the setup project as well. Would someone have some insight to help that ? (especially to not have to add the program_[version] folder inside application files that is created each time a new publish is done).

• Giving Users an Option Between UDP & TCP?

  After studying TCP/UDP difference all week, I just can't decide which to use. I have to send a large amount of constant sensor data, while at the same time sending important data that can't be lost. This made a perfect split for me to use both, then I read a paper (http://www.isoc.org/INET97/proceedings/F3/F3_1.HTM) that says using both causes packet/performance loss in the other. Is there any issue presented if I allow the user to choose which protocol to use (if I program both server side) instead of choosing myself? Are there any disadvantages to this? The only other solution I came up with is to use UDP, and if there seems to be too great of loss of packets, switch to TCP (client-side).
