• iTune redeem codes: limited to a single version?

  Hi, I'm wondering if V1.0 generated redeem codes will be usable on a V1.1 version of my app? BTW, I know redeem codes are valid only 4 weeks and I also know that apps downloaded with a redeem code can be upgraded for free as with paid ones. My concern here is just: do unused redeem codes become invalid when a new version of my app will be available on the store? Apple's doc is not clear about this point. Did someone experience this yet ? Thx. --GQ.

  im working on a Windows Phone 7 Application that communicates with a Azure hosted WCF service. Everything works fine in communication and so on. But i want to handle the situation when the Service is not online. Now the WP7 App has a main screen with a login. After clicking the "Login" button the Application sends the credentials to the WCF Service which communicates with a Database. And now my question is, is there a way to get the online/offline state of the WCF Service? So i could give feedback to the user and the application wouldnt crash (: Thx alot for any answer!

  Im sorry if I havent done my research properly, - but couldnt find the answer I needed, so here goes: From my main page I open a new window using mainPlayer = window.open(); This window stays open until user clicks on a mainPlayer.close(); event. (or simply x closes the window) However, the idea is to make it possible to let the player keep playing, while browsing around the rest of the pages. But as soon as the user leaves the page that opened the mainPlayer window, the reference to the mainPlayer window seem to be lost. How do I, from the site's other pages, check if the mainPlayer window is open and close it on a click event? Thx John

  Hey Now, Is there a SQL Server Management studio add-on/plug-in that will enhance the tab switching dialog box when Ctrl+Tab is used to switch tabs to provide a thumbnail image of the tab? When we use Ctrl+Tab to switch tabs we see the list of tabs open. When we switch tabs in Visual Studio we get a small thumb nail preview screen of the tab along with the tab names. It would be great if there was an add-on that we could install to provide an image in addition to the file names. Thx, Catto

• Which file is the COM++ object and how do I import it to .NET?

  I'm trying to write a COM++ object wrapper around a Qt widget (control) I wrote so I can use it in future .NET projects. e.g.: public __gc class comWidget; In the compile directory are the .exe, an exe.intermediate.manifest, and the comWidget.obj, and also some other crap files (.pdb, etc). So what/how do I import into .NET? I feel like I'm missing an important step for registering the object or whatever, but all these tutorials are terrible outdated and ridiculously unhelpful (for instance, I'm using the old CLR syntax because I can't find any good docs on the new stuff, thx again M$ for being lazy faggots as usual)

  Hi I am looking to return a PDF from a webservice call. (ATM, a custom proxy is required at the client-side) AFAICS, there are 2 ways of doing it a) Return the link to a web-accessible location b) Encode the PDF and include it in the XML In my circumstance, a) will require 2 trips from the client, the first to get the path and the second to get the file. However, wrt b), this link (http://www.coderanch.com/t/279020/Streams/java/wrting-bytearray-xml-file#1283263) suggests that it isn't a good idea to encode a PDF, though without explanation.   Hi. I found lots of MinMax Heap implementations, that were storing data in an array. It is realy easy to implement, that is way I am looking for something different. I want to create a MinMax Heap using only elements of the Heap with pointers to left child and right child (and afcourse a key to compare). So the Heap have only pointer to the root object (min level), and a root object have a pointer to his children (max level) and so on. I know how to insert a new object (finding a proper path by using binary represenation of int depending on Heap size), but I don't know how to implement the rest (push up (down) the element, find parent or grandparent). • [java] Threading socket handler for two sided communication in tcp port

  I want to make a chat which will be programed in java. one computer will host the server and the other one will initiate the socket [tcp port]. now from what I read there should be a loop that will constantly read the socket which means it will make the code stuck. I have a button that is 'actionperformed' on mouse release, I want to know if it will work along with the loops that constantly reads the socket so that it will also send the infromation I wrote. If I must thread it, I want to know if the run() method must be void because if I thread it it will mean creating a new class, and the whole GUI is one big class which includes a text area, and it's private. also how can I extract the information from the socket directly to the text area? lets say the textarea variable is called "chatOutput". thx :)

I've heard that since version 1.0 it isn't dependant on webkit anymore and it makes app-development more exiting of course, please correct me if i'm wrong. As many people out there i love Javascript Frameworks such as JQuery and Mootools much, but they were build specifically to do a great job within a browser and most of the functionality is not needed within the environment Titanium now provides (DOM-Manipulation etc). • JBoss, exploded jar vs compact jar.

  Hi, I am working on Java 1.6, JBoss 5.1, EJB 3, and Hibernate 2. Every time I deploy the ear, if the jar is a compact one (non-exploded), application doesn't work. However when I explode the jar and then add it to the ear, the app works fine. Tried restarting Jboss, doesn't help. The ear refers to numerous external jars; would the order of loading the jars be an issue? How can I make JBoss load external jars followed by the app jars? Thx. WM.

  I create a lot of quick "proof of concept" MVC apps and I actually found the SimpleMembership provider that shipped with the MVC4 templates to be very handy since it gets me up and running with user registration & OAuth in a matter of minutes. But...I've started to use RavenDb (on RavenHQ for a lot for my projects). So, I starting trying to implement my own "custom membership provider" based on the ExtendedMembershipProvider and while doing that I realized that didn't make much sense. I later stumbled upon 2 interesting projects that try to solve this exact problem: WorldDomination.Web.Auth: https://github.com/PureKrome/WorldDomination.Web.Authentication MemFlex: https://github.com/OdeToCode/Memflex Both are pretty interesting recent efforts and was wondering if these are the only ones being built right now. • Vector.erase(Iterator) causes bad memory access

  Hi, I am trying to do a Z-Index reordering of videoObjects stored in a vector. The plan is to identify the videoObject which is going to be put on the first position of the vector, erase it and then insert it at the first position. Unfortunately the erase() function always causes bad memory access. • Server.Transfer - What could be the issue here?

  We have implemented a website with the ability for the user to post his actioncode. This then will be checked by the code and when the user has a price the website will Server.Transfer him to another page. The strange thing here is that the user information will be submitted to the database and the actioncode can't be used again. Here we go... I have one user in this database that is inserted twice very fast after the first time he was added. This are the timestamps: 2010-04-23 07:54:41.133 2010-04-23 07:54:41.417 The insert statement is only called once from the code and the user gets Server.Transfered to the Price.aspx page where he sees what price he won. How can it be that this happened? I'm guessing the user hitted F5 but then he had to be very very fast... Thx!

However they are blocked by adblock plus and other adblockers. Considering that nowaday 30% of internet users use an adblocker I thought of making a work around for those. I integrated manual sharing buttons into my website. So far so good. Do you have any idea on how to hide my manual sharing buttons if the addthis buttons are shown. Or better said, don't hide them if the addthis buttons are removed by a addblocker? Is it possible to detect an adblocker through js? thx, I really appreciate your help!

• Minimized window position in WPF

  I am trying to save the position of a custom dialog to the users registry, so that when they reload the same dialog, it appears in the same place they moved or resized it to previously. I am saving the windows X position Y position Width and Height. It all works fine except for when the dialog is minimized. If the dialog is minimized and the user right clicks the dialogs representation on the taskbar (windows 7) they can click "close this window". Strangely, the number -32030 gets saved in the registry as the X and Y positions but the width and height get saved correctly. Any idea where this number comes from and what to do in this situation thx

  I'd like to play around 3d in Flash and I'm wondering how sophisticated objects can i load from 3D Max... cos as i read it's possible to load something from 3d Max I've read that popular 3d engine is Away3d (many tutorials), so if there is nothing better... i'd like to focus on it. I've forgot to mention that i'm not familar with Flash, but the best way to learn something is to do something interesting with it... :) Main question: Can I load object from 3ds and link parts of this object to some actions in Flash. Better example: I'd like to load a Car and when user click on car's door i'd like to show some informations, about those door, or pass this event outside for example to any other application in PHP, Java etc... and when he click on car mask i'd like to raise other event... • adding a UIScrollView as a superview of 2 UITextview

  hi i have 2 textview in a viewcontroller. the 1st textview is not editable, but the 2nd is editable. i want to make both of them scroll in the same position and size when the keyboard is appear. I think i have to use UIScrollView as base of both of textview. And then i add the UIScrollView in xib (bot of textview are made in xib too). and this is the picture if this hierarchy : in the viewDidLoad method, i add this code : - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; [scrollTextView addSubview:lineNumberTextView]; [scrollTextView addSubview:_codeTextView]; [lineNumberTextView bringSubviewToFront:scrollTextView]; [_codeTextView bringSubviewToFront:scrollTextView]; } but when i tap on the 2nd textview, the keyboard is not appear.
